Jan 28, 2017Probably the first true competitive sports game in virtual reality. It has its flaws, sure, but it offers an entertaining experience sports fans will definitely enjoy.
-
Oct 20, 2016The controls are top notch, the sickness factor bearable for most of the time and the visuals are among the best you can get on PSVR right now. But the lack of content harms this proof that VR and ego-action indeed is possible.

Oct 14, 2016Rigs offers a mechanically simple, easy to grasp, and fun-to-play digital sports game. The nausea factor, however, absolutely has the potential to deter players. I could feel it in my stomach almost every time I dropped back into the area after being taken out, and though it did get better the more I played (with frequent breaks) it still made me pause and take a deep breath every time I put the headset on.

CD-ActionJan 12, 2017Despite RIGS’s modest content hats down to Guerrilla Games for proving that there’s a place in virtual reality for real, fast-paced first-person shooters, not just the on-rail variety. [13/2016, p.78]

Oct 28, 2016RIGS proves that a fast paced multiplayer FPS can be done in VR. It pushes graphical boundaries and creates an impressive sense of presence, in many ways, showcasing the medium’s glorious potential. It’s also a lot of fun to play, if your stomach can handle it...Yet with only four maps and three modes on offer here, like much of PSVR’s initial experiences, RIGS feels like the perfecting starting point for a great game that was never finished.
-
Oct 27, 2016RIGS: Mechanized Combat League offers some of the only multiplayer available at the PSVR launch, but the shallow gameplay and lack of substantial content make it a tough sell at full sticker price.
-
Oct 20, 2016RIGS showcases the grandiose nature of VR, and the insane worlds it can create. I for one have been sold on the future possibilities, based on what I’ve seen here.
-
Oct 19, 2016Considering it's tailor made for VR, RIGS : mechanized Combat League offers great gameplay and very good immersion into the game. But the very light content and the framerate problems get us wondering why it's sold for 60€.
-
Oct 17, 2016Ridiculously long, unskippable introductions will hamper your enjoyment.
-
Oct 12, 2016Proof that first person shooters – and pretty good ones at that – can work with VR, if handled with the right amount of delicacy.
-
Oct 25, 2016While there was enough variety in the mechs to keep me playing through a full season of matches, the sub-par visuals distract, and big matchmaking issues made online wait times unbearable. It’s fun to play with friends, but try to take it for a spin before committing, if only to make sure your stomach can actually handle it.
-
Oct 17, 2016RIGS is suffering from a content deficit and made me feel sick every time I've played it, but as a competitive game it's compelling, albeit frequently frustrating. It's a bold step towards the sort of content VR needs, even if it falters in its execution.
-
Oct 13, 2016RIGS controls are top-notch, and aside from the grating, repetitive announcers, the arenas are colorful places that I love competing in. But the smaller details that RIGS stumbles over make it hard to justify continuing after completing an initial season. RIGS is a great showcase for how to make a VR shooter, but it's also a game that could learn from the "less is more" mantra.
-
Aug 30, 2017RIGS: Mechanized Combat League may be the posterchild for PlayStation VR, but it's not the headset's MVP. While this future sports sim has a strong art style and some interesting ideas, it struggles to get the business done where it matters – on the pitch. Nauseating action and mushy combat really cause this contender to drop points.
