A very intensive game, but also a very great game. VR gamers should note that this game will probably require you to ease into it, as your play sessions must grow gradually in order for you to get used to the intensity. Otherwise, you are likely to feel motion sick.
I'm now completely fine playing the game and it's awesome - feels great and I really recommend it.

I think giving this game 10/10 is exaggerating. It's just a shooter with sport based game modes. It's very cool because of feeling vr gives you. I spent a lot of time playing it and had fun, but at the same time I knew, that I most likely wouldn't play it at all if the same game wasn't vr.
    I give it 7 for

    - very nice feel of driving a robot
    - interesting game modes (3 of them)
    - good map design
    - option to play with bots. This is very important in online games, since in many vr games it's barely possible to find someone to play with
    - quite big replayability like for vr game

I wish it had more levels (it has just 3 levels if I remember correctly), and matches would load faster. It has unnecessary cut scenes between matches, maybe implemented there to give you some rest between gameplay to avoid simulation sickness. Overall, I recommend it. I find it much cooler than for example starblood arena.

Why has this game got such a low score? It is an amazing experience. Firstly don't buy into vr if you want to hurl on a theme ride generally. Graphics are fabulous really, fuzzy in places yes, but looking out into the distance is very immersive place. Gameplay here is key and once used to the game online. Every single match is nail biting and always open to turn around in a few short minutes. I really don't get the malaise with some at vr. This for me is a classic must have game. Fair too, which so often doesn't feel the case in online mp games. Expand

RIGS looks absolutely amazing (far away objects look a bit fussy though).
Game play is fantastic, you really feel like you are in a huge robot, and it is incredibly fun!

A must buy for everyone who bought a PlayStation VR.
And a great reason to get the PlayStation VR if you are still on the fence to get one.

Really great game. Played for a couple of hours and really enjoyed it.

It is very slick, great graphics and the VR head tracking is spot on. I've not had a single problem with nausea in this game and it was really fun to play. Brilliant! It isn't an easy game to describe. Is it a sports action game or is it a FPS? Whatever you would class it as, it is easy to see why it would be

Enter the arenas, piloting your mechs, blasting the opposition to pieces only to deliver the deciding touchdown... every match is a rush. The controls feel great and despite the fast pace of the action and all the quick movements, I haven't experienced any nausea in my day-long play session.

If you're looking to pick up a PS VR (and really, you should), make sure to add this game to your collection.

The only cons are that the unskippable tutorial takes too long and asks you to repeat basic movement queues way too often before moving on, and some have complained that the animations before matches are too long as well which personally doesn't bother me.

It's a fantastic and well realized first step into VR and one of the prime examples why VR is here to stay. Playing this game on a regular screen just wouldn't compare.

what i'd like to see going forward?.... well more MORE - more arenas - more game modes - and more customisation options for the rigs

the reason i give it a 10 not a 9 because i'm an optimist and hope to see those updates in the future, i also feel it should be made aware that there are some great games out there and that its worth picking up psvr

RIGS is one of the first if not the first FPS on PS VR and it sets the bar sky high. Not only that, but in my opinion it is the best PS VR title available at this time and one of a very few that offer a long lasting experience which remains fun playing over time rather than a fun experience that you only play once and feel no need to go back to again.

When you first start playing you get a test rig that allows you to complete the tutorial and get used to the controls, but once you complete this you get to purchase your first rig. There are 4 base frames to choose between:
Sentinel: The tank, big, heavily armoured, but slow and can perform a slam jump which is a charged jump.
Hunter: The speedster, small, short, and very fast. What it lacks in it's jumping capability it makes up by being able to go through low height tunnels. enabling it to take shortcuts in various points on the maps.
Mirage: The all rounder, tall, agile, with decent armour and can double jump.
Tempest: It can fly, what it lacks armour and speed it makes up for being able to take off and hover.

There are multiple layouts for each frame each with it's own skills and weapons combination.

RIGS offers you three distinct game modes: "Team Deathmatch", "Endzone" and "Powerslam"

    Team Deathmatch
This one kind of speaks for itself a team based carnage where you gain points by destroying opponents and assisting your team members in doing so, the team with the highest amount of kills by the end of the match wins.

    Endzone
Football with giant robots, you have to grab the ball and get it through the goal on the opponents side of the map. You can steal the ball from opponents with melee and pass the ball to team members within range. The team with the highest amount of goals at the end wins.

    Superslam
Almost like basketball, except that you are the ball. Near the center of the map high up there is a hoop. If you manage to destroy 3 opponents your rig goes in to overdrive for a limited time, while you are in overdrive you have to fight yourself all the way to the top and jump through the hoop to score a point and at the end the team that scored the most points wins.

RIGS is probably one of the better looking PS VR games available, everything is rendered in a beautiful slick, colorful and bright world, As you look around in the cockpit you can read the crisp letters on the components that make up the cockpit and the levels have a distinct look that makes it easy to keep track of where you are.

Surprisingly for a game where your character actually walks/runs around and jumps in the world though I felt a little woozy for a moment during the tutorials portion by the time I was out of the tutorial section I had fully adjusted and can comfortably play for hours The game also offers multiple comfort adjustments to allow you to customize the experience in a way that reduces the chance at any motion sickness. You can choose between turning using head motion or your right thumb stick, you can restrict the view when in motion and also turn off some effects in games that may negatively affect the experience for some players.

All I can say in the end is if you own PS VR this is the game to get and if you don't this game is why you should get it.

The only cons are that sometimes it is difficult to get a pairing in online matches. Also in oflline you have to play a lot and lose a lot of games to have good team mates. Also the intros and post game of mach are very long, they have their meaning in online to talk with team mates to adjust strategy but in offline, I wanted to skip them and directly get into play.

We lost 8-1 and my team AI were utter garbage and sitting at the other side of the map while the other AI were sticking together and getting into overdrive every few seconds. I got 8 kills at the end of the game and was second place, bot of my team was last, and I didn't get overdrive even ONCE. Overdrive is needed to score a goal. Then the maps. The map design for the football game mode is BROKEN! The map design and spawn is TERRIBLE! It MUST be more diverse and have better spawn locations. The main reason I am doing this is because this game has a lack of content and is also broken and needs updates. I suggest that you wait before you buy this, because at its price point of $50, I would only pay $5 to play this broken game. Expand

Unplayable, made me sick both times I've tried to play. Even when I could handle it, it was just held back by the vr in terms of gameplay. This game represents everything people fear of vr, motion sickness, gameplay mechanics clearly restricted by the peripheral. Straightfoward shooter in mech, they did a great job in presentation, and making you feel like you're in an actual mech though.

This game is one of the few games the feels so realistic so might forget that its fake for a second some times. Very immersive and really fun, for a few matches then its repetitive like crazy! The developers spend to much time at the Menu and Scoreboard and not enough on the actual game.

The first 10 matches is incredible! and those first matches makes this game worth the money no doubt! But after a while you find your self spending all of your time in loading screens and all the matches starts to blend together.

Every match is 5 minutes long so the match is over before you even start and the long loading screens (atleast on original ps4) is so long that you get bored. There are 3 different game modes but everyone only played Team Deathmatch so those other gamesmode are with bots only!

The graphics are insanely realistic and the sound is very good! There is a corner darkening to keep you from feeling ill but you can turn it off to make it look more realistic you can handle the motion without getting sick. The HUD is slick and looks good and it feels very professional overall!

This game could have been my favorite game if there was longer matches. But since all the matches are so short they feel unimportant and i simply dont care if i win or lose after a few matches. But if you play with bots you always win. you learn how they move and they you learn how to win every time!

The first times you play it you will be impressed! no doubt. but you will might get bored after a few hours of loading screens.

Okay game but nothing for PSVR to lean on.

The first thing that struck me was the polish -- the game is presented impeccably well, with crisp graphics and quality textures, smooth animations, and plenty of detail that provide a sense of scale. The intro got me from the first moment. It has the same type of grand Colosseum feel to the most popular sport matches with plenty of spectacle. The art style is also a very welcome change from gritty machines to something quite clean and "commercial" -- a nice departure from what is normal seen in these types of games.

The second thing that struck me was the challenge! The gameplay on its head, is very simple, but make no mistake, it is VERY difficult to master (or even do moderately well) and is a true team sport that requires both fast response skills but also tactical thinking as well as knowledge of the arena. It is this aspect that is most compelling. This isn't a pick-up-and-play game, but one that will force you (very quickly) to experiment with different play styles so as to be more effective. But never once have I felt that the game has been unfair -- just challenging. And there is plenty of variety in play style and also craft, which can have a TREMENDOUS affect on outcomes especially since each RIG (even of similar class) have different weapon load-outs, and different abilities.

The quality of the game is very high. The graphics are clean, crisp, and nicely detailed. The style (as previously mentioned) is a refreshing departure from common mech styles. But there is another aspect of quality that is a bit harder to notice: the tracking. The PS VR tracking isn't the best, but RIGS seems to have tracking that is better than most titles I have played -- the world is stable and moves as it should.

I avoided this game when it first game out, because I'm not really into games that are all multi-player. But I am very glad that I got this when it went on sale for $20. It is a surprisingly solid game with deep and varied gameplay. There is plenty to do offline, and also online against human opponents. Like some of the best games around, RIGS asks you to be better, and it is in this struggle to improve and the application of your novel skills where the true joy can be found.

I would stay away from RIGS if you are very sensitive to motion sickness or want a game that you can instantly "win" at. RIGS is a fast game with a lot of depth and a steep learning curve.

I was hesitant about the game when it first came out, but when I saw it for free for PS Plus, I decided to give in and go ahead. A great decision made. Its a fast paced mech-fighting "sports" game that has quite the amount of content going for it.

It does start off on a bit of a bad note with a remarkably long (and tedious) opening and tutorial. The bulk of which could be summed up in 15 less minutes were it not for the showmanship and loading times. Once you get freedom though, its very fast and pretty tough. 9/10 you are going to lose your first match. The AI companions you receive in the beginning and pretty bad, but that's sort the point. You have to gain the credits to purchase better teammates. It sucks, but its the point of the game. There is a drastic difference between them and the lesser players.

A key to the game is picking the mech that works best for you and developing a play-style and strategy. There are various different types of mechs and 3 modes for each mech: speed focus, repair focus, offensive focus. You'll need to find balance between all 3 modes to win. There are only 3 different types of game modes which is a bit inhibiting, but still fun. Team takedown (deathmatch), Power Slam (like basketball) and Endzone (says its like American football, but its more like futbol).

A con about the game is the motion though. I haven't experienced myself and also I spent time in pilot training when I was younger, however, I could easily see how a person could get motion sickness from the game. Its best to pace yourself in it and be careful if symptoms arise.

Overall, its clearly one of the best games on the VR to date. I would highly recommend to anyone. I've yet to try out the online portion as I want to "git gud" with just the AI which can be difficult in itself. I'm looking forward to it.

Both the games themselves and the testing of various types of mechs draw in. In the long run, however, there are certain disadvantages of the position such as a small variety of RIGS, or the lack of free configuration. They have probably influenced the falling popularity of this title in the network.

Let's get back to the campaign. In this mode, the most uncomfortable is the lack of the ability to issue instructions to our teammates. Despite the fact that the IS is doing well alone, it sometimes lacks the possibility of working out a coherent tactic such as defense of the goal or a common attack. Surprisingly, the rival teams are able to cooperate efficiently, especially in the higher leagues.

At the end it is worth emphasizing that if you have a problem with virtual reality, then you may have a problem with RIGS - so let's try a free demo before buying.

    Advantages

    Graphics
    Dynamic gameplay
    Intuitive control

    Disadvantages

There is no possibility to configure RIGS
    A small variety of mechs
You can not give commands to the team

RIGS: Mechanized Combat League may be the posterchild for PlayStation VR, but it's not the headset's MVP. While this future sports sim has a strong art style and some interesting ideas, it struggles to get the business done where it matters – on the pitch. Nauseating action and mushy combat really cause this contender to drop points.
