    Capcom is finally going back to their Resident Evil 4 roots aka best era of Resident Evil. Can't praise them enough, so i'm just gonna say thank you! This really means a lot to me, because Resident Evil 4 is my all time favorite game and to be able to experience something similar again, is just amazing. Thank you Capcom!

That's what this series is and most people seem to absolutely love it. It's crazy how good reviews it gets on steam. But to be completely fair, if you don't like Resident Evil 4, i don't like you anyway. Would recommend Village to anyone (even people who are new to RE series) who wants to have fun, lots of boss battles, great graphics and weapon upgrades. People who say it doesn't have horror at all are simply lying. Or maybe their definition of horror is just hiding in the corner. That's something i call pathetic, not horror, but to each their own. I would also recommend playing Resident Evil 4 after RE Village, it's truly absolute masterpiece and best game in whole RE series.… Expand

    Desde mi punto de vista como un fan más de la saga résident evil, este juego me parece un regalo por parte de Capcom, nos brinda una narrativa que se ve que está trabajada, nos dan un escenario que se nota vivo, nos da un mapa más grande y explorable... Si que es verdad que tiene al final un poco de acción pero se combina perfectamente. En general me parece un gran juego.

    Awesome game, the psychological horror that we encountered in biohazard continues here, complemented by insane graphics and a beautiful world. A treat to the eyes, especially with a high powered graphics card and ray-tracing turned on. More combat than in biohazard but warranted as the population of the village is less than welcoming.     First of all, let me state it is a super game. Graphics, episode designs, characters are all outstanding. And most importantly, the story. This story is one of the best I've ever seen. And the compatibility of Resident Evil Biohazard and the story is enormous. I have no words for the finale anyway. So in short this game a MASTERPIECE If you haven't played it, you missed one of the bestFirst of all, let me state it is a super game. Graphics, episode designs, characters are all outstanding.     The Performance on the PS4 is Good. The Story is not the best Resident Evil Story but it is Good Trash Entertainment. The Game play is Solid. The Weapon Handling feels good, the Movement too.
    It is not so good like the Resident Evil 2 Remake but it is a Good Resident Evil Game.

    As a huge fan of resident evil, this game made me feel as in the childhood while playing re 4, my favourite chapter. Game is divided to a different locations and all of them feel extremely atmospheric. Strongly recommend.

The main concept stayed the same but they actually mixed in some episodes to make the game constantly change its pacing. There’s a horror episode (a really good one and pretty scary), sometimes throws you into a hurricane action like RE6 (closer to the ending). Some didn’t likeRE7 was a great game.     Picks right up where VII left off and is slightly less creepy, but just as scary. I'm not a fan of first person shooters - I just feel lost in space- but this is probably the best I've played action/control wise. Also, its atmospheric, occasionally grotesgue and messed up, and always scary. It’s like they never had a bird’s-eye view of the entire project to see those issues resulting in such mess.

    Since the game doesn’t have a single distinct villain, they tried to compensate the lack of villain quality with quantity, offering instead a bunch of potential bosses that look and sound extremely contrived and monotonous in their lines and unrealistic in all aspects. The protagonist too seems underdeveloped, and, although we had seen Ethan before in absolutely fantastic RE 7, after playing the Village for over 3 hours, I still couldn’t project myself in his shoes and care, no matter how hard I tried. The writing is very bad and lacks any hook. In RE 7 even the ordinary minions were so specifically designed, fighting them was suspenseful fun, and now we came all this way to the Village just to shoot a bunch of classic zombie-resembling freaks? Wake up, Capcom! We’ve grown bored of it, where is your imagination? Again, I want to highlight that this game lacks any visual and narrative originality.

    You will be surprised how inferior it is to its predecessor, and on top of everything they didn’t add a VR mode either. Now I can see why the developers after all made the game PS4-compatible. Had the Village been released for next-gen consoles only, it could’ve end up being a catastrophic failure.

    In conclusion, I bought this at 40-something-percent discount and still want my money back. I’d feel disappointed even if it came 100% free. This is definitely not what a good game looks like.    … Expand

    Improves upon 7 interms of gameplay and mechanics and the star of the show for me is the setting and larger open areas making for fun exploration and different typical approaches to the game.
    Only gripe is a very goofy story even for a resident evil game. Doesn't takeaway from the experience however as the boss battles felt    Resident Evil 8 feels like a good blend of tension and action.
    Improves upon 7 interms of gameplay and mechanics and the star of the show for me is the setting and larger open areas making for fun exploration and different typical approaches to the game.

    Jogo roda muito liso no PS4 Pro, no modo que favorece framerate é excelente, no entanto, tem vários popins e textura que demora carregar o que atrapalha um pouco. E o fato de ser em primeira pessoa também não ajuda, mas é muito bom, diverte.

PS4 owners should be pleased with the game's performance. Graphics and framerate hold up very well. In terms of story, I found it to be good, if not great.     In my opinion the story is one of if not the best in any RE game to date unfortunately a cheap and half assed Mercenaries mode tainted my experience with the game... what a shame.

To stick to Ethan Winters may not have been the best choice ans this might disappoint some die hard Resi 7 fans, but in the end this is a super fun, exciting and soNext to Resident Evil 4 my favorite entry of the series!     Have played the first time this franchise, and was very disappointed. The line with Dimitrescu was great but after that it has come to complete mess. Cliche, cliche and cliche, also boring and illogical.

    Semi-automatic..... triggers... aiming.... can Capcom figure out how guns work, please? This gameplay is atrocious when your semi automatic weapon has a 3.2 second cooldown per shot. It's no fun. Wtf were they thinking. Coulda been great. Resident evil is dead.

    The game looks great... And that's all it has going for it... The story is full of plot holes and makes zero sense, character motivations are downright idiotic and it plays wonky as hell for such a high production value game.
    Honestly, they could invrst a bit more in writers to make it make some sense.
    ... It's so sad to see yhem try to squeeze this IP with such crappy games

    Сюжет гармоничный и хорошо вплетён в канву серии. Это прямой сиквел седьмой части, что честно говоря удивительно. Так как я не помню такого в прошлых частях. В игре досказана история семьи Мии и Итана Уинтерсов.
    Антагонисты в игре просто великолепные: леди Димитреску с дочерьми, "магнето" Гейзенберг, водяной мутант Моро, Беневиенто с куклой Энджи и матерь Миранда. Плюс к этому несколько мини боссов, которые есть почти у всех видов монстров. При этом простые противники вместо однообразных плесневиков из предыдущей части, превратились во всяких оборотней, зомби громил и мороайек, летающих вальномий, волколаков, несколько видов киборгов и т. д. Короче бестиарием очень доволен.
    На PS4 игра выглядит лучше приквела. Очень стильно. Так же плюс в том, что теперь игра проходится на открытых просторах не меньше чем во всяких замкнутых пространствах. Поэтому виды, в отличии от той же семёрки, просто феерические. Короче красота.
    Геймплей практически не поменялся, но стрелять, как мне кажется, стало удобнее и это хорошо. Наконец свершилось чудо, они улучшили рюкзак протагониста. Теперь в нем только "готовые изделия": оружие, патроны, лечилки, гранаты. Для всяких ингредиентов: травы, пороха, всякой химии, есть своё меню (безграничное). Так же сюжетные предметы и сокровища места в инвентаре не занимают. Поэтому больше никаких сундуков и ежеминутных забегов до безопасной комнаты, что бы положить или взять какой либо предмет. Более объёмный рюкзак тоже искать не надо, он продаётся у местного ОГРОМНОГО барыги. При этом у него так же можно прокачивать оружие (как же мне не хватало этого в семёрке) и самого персонажа, скармливая оному разные блюда из местной фауны.
    Что касается атмосферы, она здесь в стратосфере! Просто очень трудно из неё выйти. Она просто затягивает с головой. Игра меня один раз даже напугала. Отдельная радость, игра имеет полностью русскую озвучку, чего мне очень не хватало в семёрке.
    Даже Крис Редфилд стал похож на себя. Етить колотить, ещё и сохранения стали намного удобнее.
    Просто не знаю, что ещё можно добавить? Ах, да! Протагонистом девятой части, думаю, будет женщина.
    Короче всем кому понравилась Resident Evil 7: Biohazard, проходить в обязательном порядке! А кто пропустил.........? Пройти две последние игры по очереди.
    Сегодня в моём игровом рейтинге Resident Evil 4 наконец уступила первое место в данной вселенной. Resident Evil Village новый чемпион!    … Expand

    Me decepciona que Capcom intente vender un videojuego en inglés y sin doblaje latino en pleno año 2021, y no sé si ganará al juego del año pero ni así lo voy a recomendar.

    Ya cuando vi que iba a ver un doblaje/traducción en el portugués de los brasileños ya es el colmo de colmos, una burla. Y los demás latinoamericanos (incluyendo youtubers), sumisos diciendo gracias, está claro que    Me decepciona que Capcom intente vender un videojuego en inglés y sin doblaje latino en pleno año 2021, y no sé si ganará al juego del año pero ni así lo voy a recomendar.

    Couldn't figure out what to do, pulled up walkthru, ok for ten minutes.. Cant get past this door, missed it on the walk thru. Story was boring and dejavu inducing, so that was it for me. Trash game, with an unhelpful map. Watch the underworld series instead.

    This was the best resident evil game I've played since resident evil 4. It takes a lot of what I thoroughly enjoyed from 4 and from 7 and makes it a unique experience. It definitely has its flaws here and there, but it makes in comparison to everything that the game does right. I highly recommend this to anyone with even the slightest interest in the series.

    Village é um ótimo jogo da franquia Resident Evil e o primeiro a ser dublado - diga-se de passagem uma dublagem excelente.

    A jogabilidade se mantém a mesma de seu antecessor, no entanto há uma melhora - justificável - na forma de manejar uma arma; a variedade de criaturas inimigas aumenta consideravelmente - para melhor -, tendo como formas de derrotar bem diferentes uma das outras; a    Village é um ótimo jogo da franquia Resident Evil e o primeiro a ser dublado - diga-se de passagem uma dublagem excelente.

    Capcom you are incredible, this game has become a real discovery. Delight did not leave throughout the passage. The way they worked on the village is worthy of applause. A true child's delight, involvement in the gameplay, a real gift for everyone who appreciates single-player story games. Respect, it was very cool !

    Aside from very few fps drops on PS4 SLIM, this game rocks! It's action packed, with horror themed locations, and various inspirations on classic horror titles. Mercenaries mode it's really good and entertaining! Worth a full price, worth various playthroughs.

    I loved the first half of this game, it's scary, tense and invokes RE4 with its setting amazingly, making your way through the titular village is a bone chilling experience because you never know what kind of horrific beastman will jump out at you next, and the next two areas, being    Resident Evil Village is a great 4 hours... unfortunately, Resident Evil Village is 8 hours long, not 4.

    I loved the first half of this game, it's scary, tense and invokes RE4 with its setting amazingly, making your way through the titular village is a bone chilling experience because you never know what kind of horrific beastman will jump out at you next, and the next two areas, being Castle Dimitrescu and House Beneviento, are phenomenal, especially the latter, with that freakish baby thing, ugh I love it. However once you finish that first half, it slowly starts degrading in quality, The Swamp and The Factory range from boring to awful, and the latter half of The Factory really just wears me out, the entire area was frustrating and lasted far too long in my opinion, with a discount Chainsaw Guy that I didn't find half as scary or intimidating as the Chainsaw Guy, it also has discount Regenerator because every bloody Resident Evil game needs one apparently. As for The Swamp... well it's a swamp level, it sucks, they all do, screw Swamp levels.

    Where the game shines is The Four Lords, Heisenberg was my favourite, I found his voice acting so fun, his actor delivers every line with enthusiasm just too good for this game, I still find myself quoting him almost daily. Lady D was also cool in a Mr. X kind of way, she's not quite as imposing as Mr. X, but she certainly outshines Nemesis from the RE3make. Unfortunately Donna Beneviento isn't given any lines or anything to do really, but her doll thing Angie is at least interesting, if you like Chucky, you'll like her, then there's Moreau... anyway.

    Gameplay is what you'd expect after RE7, nothing new, except it feels generally better. Visually the game looks great, I played on a ps4 pro with Performance mode on, but even then the game was still beautiful looking, in a gory kind of way.

    I know it's been said a million times, but what the hell is with Chris? OK, I get it, he didn't want Ethan involved, I get it, but why not tell him what's going on at the swamp? he's already involved at that point, and he's not likely to leave now, how would he leave anyway? with the car he doesn't have? It makes no sense for Chris not to tell him after he's already gotten involved. On top of that, Chris is such an uncharacteristic jerk in this game, I get wanting to hide things from Ethan, but do you have to be such a douche about it? Even Chris' new team calls him out, Chris acts like Fake Ada does in RE6, only this is the real Chris, and it's really odd.

    My real issue with the game is the switch to action halfway through, this combined with the RE4make has me worried, I'm worried Capcom will slip back into "horror bad action good" when RE8 does horror, it's amazing, but when it does action, it's fine, good sometimes, but not what I want out of Resident Evil. With an RE4 remake and RE9 looking like it'll focus on Chris, I feel like we're going into another dark age with this series, I hope I'm wrong but Capcom are no strangers to letting me down.    … Expand

It makes it feel more like a action adventure than a old school horror resident evil game but some parts had that spookiness which kinda made it better. I didn’t like the last dungeon which was kinda tedious and easy to get lost. The worst part of the story, however, is how it actually takes itself seriously, even though it's hilariously badly written.
    The gameplay is good though, it feels slightly clunky but it's fun and it works well.
    The characters are so-so; some characters are rather unlikable and uninteresting, while others are intriguing and cool.
    The visuals and the audio design are amazing, and the atmosphere is wonderful.
    Lastly, Resident Evil Village's gothic horror setting is undoubtedly the best part of the game; it's haunting and terrifying but also beautiful.
    Unfortunately for Resident Evil Village though, the game has many flaws.
    In spite of the short length, the puzzles are dull and they slow down the game's pacing significantly.
    Also, the story feels rushed at times and the boss fights are pretty easy; in fact, the whole game is unexpectedly easy and not creepy. The game tries to blend survival horror and action but it ultimately falls short at both areas because the survival horror elements are almost absent and the action is uninspiring.

Besides the gameplay, the game has an incredible soundtrack, perhaps one of the best of the year in the entire industry, which fits its atmosphere perfectly. In The Last of Us 1 & 2 we can see how a horror game can still be satisfying for story hungry people.     Ethan Winters is a faceless character that never makes you get into his story, looking for his disappeared girlfriend Mia. (RE7). The feel of that game isn’t the essence of Resident Evil, but that is another tale.

    RE8 VILLAGE plot is in the air, playing with european myths and literature, vampires, werewolves, monsters from the lake, etc... and Chriss Redfield attached to the story in desperate intent to turn this into Resident Evil, sorry but I don’t bite it.

    The main facts and several parts of the story seem to be inspired by SILENT HILL, a father who is looking for his daughter in the middle of a strange place surrounded by demon-like creatures, but in this case all without salt and pepper. Maybe you can't find the resemblance with the old KONAMI title, but the truth is that this plot is weak, and certainly isn’t polish.

    The good stuff, all the artwork is fantastic, even addictive, like Lady Dimitrescu and her castle. The game is fun but is it really a Resident Evil game? .

    I picked up this game because my girlfriend wanted to see Lady "Step-On-Me-Mommy" Dimetrescu in action, and even when we blasted through her area, we both stayed incredibly engaged. It has led me to get RE2, RE3, RE4 and RE7. Those are the best ones, right?

    Per il resto, purtroppo... Non fa paura (tranne la sezione nella casa delle bambole).
    Troppi nemici, troppe munizioni.

    Melhor Jogo de terror da Geração PS4/XBOXONE!
    O trabalho da Capcom dessa vez me surpreendeu. Não só trouxe um trabalho impecável em questão de gráficos, história, trilha sonora e personagens, mas surpreendeu também com a dublagem do jogo que é coisa nova na franquia (pelo menos aqui no Brasil). Meu jogo favorito atualmente dos lançamentos de 2021.

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. A fantastic direct sequel to a fantastic game! RE7 was the first Resident Evil game I played, and the game that got me into the series. So, I was naturally incredibly excited about this game. I loved the look, the monsters, the bits of lore we were given, and how tense the trailers made the game appear.

    I was not disappointed, if anything, my expectations were greatly exceeded. This game's graphics can be downright gorgeous and fascinating, and also gory and gritty. The story, while it may have its issues, still keeps me hooked and emotional. Yes, the father saving his daughter trope is nothing new, but something about this game's overall atmosphere helps make it feel more intense this time around. Next, the horror in this game is well-done. Sure, it's not as much of a slow-burn as RE7 but I'm honestly okay with that. I like the slow horror of RE7 but I also like the Psychological Thriller feel that this game has. The Beneviento segment in particular is one of the scariest in gaming and has stuck with me almost a full year after I played it. This game isn't without its faults, my biggest critique is the pacing of some of the areas. While I love all the areas for different reasons, some are very long such as Dimitrescu's castle, and others are very short like Moreau's area. This is my biggest critique of the game and is the only thing that drags the game down some.

    Overall, I think this is a fantastic horror game and a great sequel to RE7. It isn't without its faults, but it has some very high highs, like the amazing graphics, intriguing (albeit slightly cliche) story, great horror, amazing enemy designs, and areas that are beautiful and gritty but vary too much lengthwise.     This game... Is pretty fun! Now that's not to say it doesn't have it's issues, so lets go over them!

    The Good: The village is massive, which leaves room for exploration. The characters are pretty well written. Gameplay itself is engaging. (aside from a few areas, but we'll get to that) And the bosses are pretty unique! The bad: The entire factory section is just    This game... Is pretty fun!     This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. A história é ambientada em uma cidade do leste europeu, contando a saga de Ethan Winters, depois do ocorrido na residência dos Bakers. Passado alguns anos após o incidente, Ethan está com Mia e sua filha Rose, tentando seguir a vida e superar os traumas do passado. No começo do jogo, Chris Redfield invade sua casa matando Mia e levando Rose e Ethan. Após um incidente no transporte dos dois, Ethan acorda e não sabe onde está sua filha. Daí começa sua jornada em um vilarejo hostil, com diversas criaturas folclóricas como lobisomens, vampiros e bruxas... No decorrer da história, fica claro que tais criaturas eram seres humanos que foram expostos ao Cadou, parasita geneticamente modificado que foi exposto ao Mofo. A vila possui uma espécie de anciã/profetisa, conhecida como Mãe Miranda e esta possui quatro Lordes, Alcina Dimitrescu, Donna Benneviento, Salvatore Moreau e Karl Heisenberg. O jogo tem ambientes abertos e fechados, trazendo um realismo casuístico à experiência, já que Ethan já tem as experiências passadas e não é tão indefeso como no jogo anterior. No modo padrão, não é um jogo difícil, então recomendo o modo Intenso para aqueles que já estão habituados com a saga. Nesse modo, a experiência se torna bastante desafiadora. Os gráficos estão excelentes, a jogabilidade é incrível e possui uma boa diversidade de armas, o que pode tornar a gameplay interessante. Para os amantes de Resident Evil 4, o Village possui muitas referências e o intuito da Capcom era justamente trazer a nostalgia desse clássico e preparar o público para o Remake que será lançado em 2023. Não acho que o jogo possui muita ação, pois em diversos momentos há partes de sobrevivência e terror, principalmente na casa Benneviento, que por sinal é o ponto mais alto do jogo. Tem uma quantidade boa de puzzles e de colecionáveis. Destaque para a atuação da atriz que deu vida para a personagem Alcina Dimitrescu, que a tornou um ícone da série. Vale muito a pena jogar Resident Evil Village, recomendo!… Expand

    With ultra-realistic graphics, the game feels amazing and achieves its purpose perfectly.

    Must play, the experience is incredible, with everything from survival horror, mixed great with action game elements, thus immersing you perfectly in the adventure presented.

    Resident Evil Village is a far cry from its more grounded and horror-focused predecessor, but in the end, it’s perhaps just as lovable. At times it feels like a greatest hits collection of some of the best elements of previous Resident Evil games, and while that leads to it not being wholly coherent, it’s not to its detriment. It may not be perfect in terms of combat mechanics and storytelling, but Resident Evil Village keeps you on your toes, with you never truly knowing what’s waiting for you around the next corner. And that’s why when playing it, the hours simply fly by. Will the series ever become stale? Not while it’s being as inventive as this, that’s for sure.

    In the end, Resident Evil Village is not a perfect experience but it is still an awesome one and easily the best of the recent games in the series. It's scary, suspenseful, grounded in relatable human drama, and an overall blast to play; I highly recommend giving it a shot.
