    ANALYSIS - RESIDENT EVIL [8] VI.L.L.AGE (PLAYSTATION 4)

    POSITIVE POINTS:
    Good gameplay;
    The return of The Expendables;
    Good dubbing in Brazilian Portuguese and Latin America Spanishes;
    Good mix of genres throughout the game.

    NEGATIVE POINTS:
    Weak history;
    Little Gore;
    Small fountains with ruined cores to be seen;
    Little charismatic protagonists.

    Finally rolled the credits on village ❤ it took me 10 hours to beat the main campaign with almost 80 percent of side content involved and i have to say capcom surely deserves all the credit here

    Resident Evil Village is the best Resident Evil game. From the Atmosphere of the Village to the Level and Art design of the Castle. Everything feels masterfully thought out, and it is accompanied with a fantastic story at it's core, with Ethan Winters' story being wrapped up in a satisfying way. A must play for all Resident Evil fans.

    This is the best part in the series, over the past 10-15 years, very atmospheric and with a more or less sane plot.

    The gameplay - is standard as in other parts of the series. The plot - is strong and interesting. The atmosphere - is very coolly balanced, there is both horror and action (there is more horror). Difficulty - playing hardcore, you will get EVERYTHING that is required    This is the best part in the series, over the past 10-15 years, very atmospheric and with a more or less sane plot.

    The gameplay - is standard as in other parts of the series.
    The plot - is strong and interesting.
    The atmosphere - is very coolly balanced, there is both horror and action (there is more horror).
    Difficulty - playing hardcore, you will get EVERYTHING that is required from a resident evile (at lower difficulties you will lose the whole essence of the game).
    Puzzles - there are a LOT of them and very diverse and very interesting.
    Back tracking - is probably the biggest of all the previous parts.
    Enemies - there are many of them, each with its own characteristics (both externally and gameplay).
    Bosses and mini-bosses - there are many of them, all varied and interesting, with several phases.    … Expand

    Resident Evil Village is a modern, next generation Resident Evil. Great mix of rewarding exploration, fun combat, cool weapons, mystery, unique characters/setting, great controls, incredible environments and special effects: fire, water, wind, rain, snow. The physics are also amazing. The game really pushes next generation realistic graphics and special effects. I love that they madeResident Evil Village is a modern, next generation Resident Evil. The physics are also amazing. The game really pushes next generation realistic graphics and special effects. I love that they made the game feel like a big explorable place. I also love how the graphics have a heft to them in the game. It makes the game feel more grounded in reality. I also liked that the game didn't take itself too seriously and there was some humor in the game as well as funny moments. The things that brought the score down for me was I felt there were not enough variety of areas to explore and not enough rewarding incentive to replay the game like finding harder secrets. I hope it sells really well, so RE9 can get a really great budget and the developers will know that they nailed the design in this game. Improvements I'd want for the next game: Take this core design and apply it to an even grander scale. A bigger game map with even more exploration. More variety of enemies. More variety of mini bosses. More main bosses. More puzzles. More keys. More hidden secrets. More weapons. More ways to overcome enemies, more plot lore, etc. Make it even more of an epic adventure like so many other triple A titles are nowadays.… Expand

    Magnificent!!! Hands down one of the best Resident Evil games in years! it's got everything from the survival horror genre, mixed well with action & adventure elements. Fun bosses, awesome story with a mind-blowing twist and it's decently long for a RE game. Oh and it looks incredible! This is a 10/10 MUST BUY game, it's just a great experience and value! Well done to the developers. :)

    Absolute blast to play. It takes things that work from the previous games (4, 7 and 2) and creates a tasty mix of Resident Evil goodness. Also well optimized and beautiful even on base PS4.

    How does this game run so well on these older machines. All my mates got RE 8 so ive seen it runing on most hardware and no one is really missing out here ( maybe base XB1, but the 1X version is great).

    Bought this with very high hopes since i've been fan for the franchise since RE1. Capcom has had some odd steps with the series, but this time they went all in. Everything in this game feels like it has been really finished and thought thoroughly. I would say that this is best modern new resident evil on the past 10 years.     I like this game a lot. I was worried that it will be too short and doesn't have enough boss battles, but i was prove wrong. There's so many different creatures and bosses, it's just amazing. Whole game has very strong Resident Evil 4 vibes and i dig that a lot, because RE4 is one my favorite games of all time. But it's not copy+paste of RE4 either, it's just inspired by it and has similarI like this game a lot.     Man, this game was SO GOOD! I really enjoyed my time with it. This game probably has the most gorgeous, stunning graphics and art direction that I have ever seen. My god it is so majestically beautiful! Exploring in this game is such a treat (but it can be scary xD). The gameplay and story were engaging and thrilling. There was also a lot of variety in the game. It's one of the bestMan, this game was SO GOOD! I really enjoyed my time with it.     Resident Evil Village has most obvious Resident Evil 4 inspiration possible and that's a good thing. Merchant in RE Village even references RE4's Merchant. Resident Evil 4 has always been most popular RE game and many consider it one of the best games of all time. Resident Evil 4 is by far best RE game there ever was, so i'm glad that they took this as inspiration. Beautiful, the end of the game made me want to cry like a baby: ((. this game has a longer playtime than re7 if exploring every castle and village locations, this game is well worth buying… Expand

    it's a very long game, with awesome gameplay and story, has a lot of survival horror vibes and some parts of the games focus on the action, is the perfect balance, one of the best resident evil games of history

    Finally Capcom is going back to their Resident Evil 4 (Best Resident Evil game of all time) roots. It's about time. Way better than Resident Evil 7 in literally every way possible. More actually interesting/fun boss fights, Weapon Upgrades, enemies drop loot (as they should), beautiful graphics. Can't wait to see what they do with Resident Evil 4 Remake, because now i'm hyped.

    Perfect combination of Action and Horror. Just like Resident Evil 4, Dead Space, The Evil Within and some more. I don't like these hide and seek type horror games, i want to fight back and have fun. Good game.

    I really like it and i think it's very well done Resident Evil game. It has Resident Evil 7 camera and Resident Evil 4 elements like inventory/merchant. It even has some RE2 Remake elements, that i'm not gonna spoil. Way more normal enemies than in RE7 (that's a +), more bosses (also a +), bosses actually look interesting, some of them reminded me The Evil Within bosses (that's a +).I really like it and i think it's very well done Resident Evil game.     Resident Evil Village is a far cry from its more grounded and horror-focused predecessor, but in the end, it’s perhaps just as lovable. At times it feels like a greatest hits collection of some of the best elements of previous Resident Evil games, and while that leads to it not being wholly coherent, it’s not to its detriment. It may not be perfect in terms of combat mechanics and storytelling, but Resident Evil Village keeps you on your toes, with you never truly knowing what’s waiting for you around the next corner. And that’s why when playing it, the hours simply fly by. Will the series ever become stale? Not while it’s being as inventive as this, that’s for sure.

    In the end, Resident Evil Village is not a perfect experience but it is still an awesome one and easily the best of the recent games in the series. It's scary, suspenseful, grounded in relatable human drama, and an overall blast to play; I highly recommend giving it a shot.
