    The Resident Evil and Outlast franchises are pushing the boundaries of the horror video game genre. The first person perspective makes the experience a lot more up-close and personal. Multiple times throughout RE7: Biohazard, the atmospheric spookiness lead to terrifying boss fights and then re-established the slow-burn dreadful mood. The sound design at Capcom also took a huge leapThe Resident Evil and Outlast franchises are pushing the boundaries of the horror video game genre. Multiple times throughout RE7: Biohazard, the atmospheric spookiness lead to terrifying boss fights and then re-established the slow-burn dreadful mood. The sound design at Capcom also took a huge leap forward with this installment of the series. It is a very polished experience, and if you can't see that, you're delusional or too stubborn to see it.

    My minor gripes include the slow sprint speed, sluggish aiming, tiresome backtracking, and bullet-sponge enemies. I'm torn between giving an 8 or a 9 out of 10.    … Expand

    I have never played a Resident Evil game or any horror game for that matter. This was my first experience into the Resident Evil universe and i loved it. The visual design is great and the levels and environments while not always completely diverse, were creative and disturbing. The music is eerie and serine and always at the right place and time. The grotesque sounds of the Bakers where terrifying and the voice acting was mostly great. The story sucks you in and and keeps you interested but never revealing quite what was going on until the very end. The writing is superb and the pacing of the story is fantastic. Resolving the mystery and eventually feeling bad for the Bakers is genius writing. Although the main character is really underwhelming but ultimately a vessel of the player. All of this resolves around the nerve racking game-play and the highlight of the series. The combat is great and always intense. Evading enemies and getting well placed shots is rewarding and create very anxious moments. Shooting feels great and taking out enemies with makeshift weapons will always be satisfying. However the enemies are constantly being reused and there is not much variety causing later hours to falter. Inventory management and obtaining items is fun and tactical. Choosing when and what to craft requires a lot of brain power. The puzzles may cause a bit of backtracking but are great and very fun to solve. Exploration and discovering lore and collectibles allows for many playthroughs as well. However all this tactical and slower paced methodical game-play is sandwiched between spectacular boss fights and creative set pieces. The boss fights are great and diverse and create so much tension and anxiety that cant be found anywhere else. Sadly the final boss fight is far too quick and the latter half somewhat looses momentum. Overall a great and thrilling survival horror experience.… Expand

    Probably most Resident evil game since 3rd. At some points really scary. Great graphics especially if you play in VR. One complain is low variety of enemies this game provide.

    Since I enjoyed the Maiden demo so much, I wanted to play Ethan Winters first adventure in the deep south. This game started off so unsettling to me because it felt too much like something that could happen, mixed in with the gross setting of the house by the bog, I wasn't sure if I would like it. But as the journey went on I found myself entranced by the mystery, enjoying the supernaturalSince I enjoyed the Maiden demo so much, I wanted to play Ethan Winters first adventure in the deep south. This game started off so unsettling to me because it felt too much like something that could happen, mixed in with the gross setting of the house by the bog, I wasn't sure if I would like it. But as the journey went on I found myself entranced by the mystery, enjoying the supernatural elements as they kept weaving themselves into the story, until I was completely enthralled by everything that was going. I may have jumped a few times, but I never once wanted to look away. After enjoying both the story and the characters as much as I did, the only complaint I had was how short the game was, which I hope is rectified in Village.… Expand

    Uno de los mejores juegos de esta generación sin duda alguna que no es de 10 por la muy escasa duración del juego base y por la falta de cuidado en los pequeños detalle que marcan la diferencia.

    Great game, this is the most horror RE I've played by my opinion. I'm not very familiar with the series but I think they made it perfect for the genre. There is as much action as it needs and the environment is as dark as it should for this game. The adventure has great pace as well, and also has the right amount of challenge. I highly recommend it.

    Cuando vi el trailer odie a muerte a capcom por la camara en primera persona, ya que, me parecio que lo habian hecho para pillar el rebufo de los juegos para youtubers (gritos exagerados). Le di una oportunidad y me encanto, por fin se acababa la tonteria de disparar a diestro y siniestro como cabras a todo tipo de enemigos como en RE5 y RE6, aqui sientes terror, por lo menos, las primerasCuando vi el trailer odie a muerte a capcom por la camara en primera persona, ya que, me parecio que lo habian hecho para pillar el rebufo de los juegos para youtubers (gritos exagerados). Me parece un muy buen juego pero no le pongo más de un 8 por que no le encuentro todavía la relación con la historia principal, cuando terminé de jugarlo pensé que era una historia alternativa que no tenia nada que ver con la historia principal después de ver a chris pues ya cambie pensando que es el principio de otra historia.… Expand

    Это первая игра за 15 лет, которая смогла меня напугать! Даже вышедшая раньше игры демо, по началу, кажется пустой и безгеймплейной, что ли, составлена очень правильно, не из геймплея, а из ощущений.
    Игра хороша почти во всём. Визуально очень впечатляет на PS4. Мир проработан очень здорово, как улица, так и внутренние помещения. На мой взгляд как первые так и вторые в игре это замкнутые пространства, но вероятно это особенность данного движка.
    Шутерная механика тоже не плохая. Стрелять удобно и интересно, ну для серии Resident Evil конечно, тем более от первого лица.
    Атмосфера просто какая то запредельная. Я всегда утверждал, что более глубокой атмосферы, можно добиться только с видом от первого лица. Поэтому, она лучше, чем во всех играх серии, которые выходили с перспективой от третьего лица! Но в этом, как мне кажется и некий недостаток. Всегда кажется, что в любой момент тебя кто нибудь схватит сзади и сожрёт. Это очень похоже на ощущения в Alien: Isolation, мне не очень нравится.
    Антогонисты серии тоже хороши, как на подбор. Но к сожалению они какие то, не знаю как правильно сказать, не Resident Evilловские. По сути это просто люди со сверх способностями, ну кроме Джека и Эвелины в финале.
    Как понятно из вышесказанного, я не пробовал игру до релиза. Так, что все ощущения были естественными!
    Меня реально напугал Джек Бейкер проломивший стену прямо перед моим носом. А озверевшая Мия, страшна! Просто передёрнуло, когда она отпилила руку нашему протагонисту! И это я играл не в VR.
    Геймплей тоже на месте не стоит, здесь надо и прятаться, и отстреливаться, и разгадывать несложные головоломки. А когда надоедает этот прОклятый дом, нас переносят в прошлое, на какой то корабль и дают поиграть за Мию.
    Почему же тогда я написал - "Почти во всём"? А по тому, что все рядовые противники, ужасно унылые и однообразные плесневики! При этом их всего три разновидности и выглядят они все как то одинаково. И меня ну просто достал инвентарь Итана, каждый раз надо бежать к сундуку, что бы взять что-то или положить. Я понимаю это была необходимость на первой соньке, но сейчас 21 век.
    Ещё в игре очень не хватает русской озвучки, а шрифт субтитров слишком мелковат для консольного экрана и это нельзя изменить.
    Так же Крис Редфилд сам на себя не похож.
    Если последние строки не критичны, то игра очень хорошая, особенно если сравнивать с Resident Evil 6, в которой дух и атмосфера серии была заменена на бесшабашный шутан. Недостатки есть, но они какие то детские, очень надеюсь, что всё поправят в сиквеле.    … Expand

    Gran bel gioco. Un ottimo survival horror in prima persona. Anche i dlc sono abbastanza divertenti e sono sicuramente più difficili rispetto al gioco originale.

    4편이후로 계속 나락이던 바이오하자드 시리즈의 완벽한 귀환, 혹은 변화? RE엔진의 훌륭한 모습도 인상적이고 FPS호러 시리즈라는 모습으로의 변화도 새롭다. 기존 시리즈 스토리의 변화를 모색하는것도 인상적.

    Jogo muito bom, mas, não acho que deveria fazer parte da saga principal, se fosse um spin off o jogo seria perfeitamente ótimo, mas por confusão de roteiro e cronologia creio que não mereça nota máxima, porém o jogo é muito bom. Achei mais parecido com uma espécie de outlast, ariscaria dizer que seria um outlast diferenciado.

    I can echo what a lot of people have said about this being a really refreshing reboot to the series, not just the first person perspective, it really boils the series back down to its basics. Though I do think that the game loses a touch of steam towards the end of the game, it's overall the best since Resident Evil 4 in my opinion.

    Cuando se suele hablar de la saga Resident Evil, se suele pensar en títulos emblemáticos como el 2 o el 4 que supieron dar un paso por delante de lo que se venia haciendo anteriormente, logrando así que la saga siguiera teniendo vigencia tanto en buenas criticas como en venta; entonces llega la entrega número 7 con un cambio muy importante como lo es pasar a jugar en primera persona,Cuando se suele hablar de la saga Resident Evil, se suele pensar en títulos emblemáticos como el 2 o el 4 que supieron dar un paso por delante de lo que se venia haciendo anteriormente, logrando así que la saga siguiera teniendo vigencia tanto en buenas criticas como en venta; entonces llega la entrega número 7 con un cambio muy importante como lo es pasar a jugar en primera persona, tratando, de manera afectiva, regresar a lo que fue en sus inicios un "Survival Horror".
    Creo, en mi humilde opinión, que lo han logrado. Tiene un gran inicio dejando estándares muy altos para el resto del juego que luego no logra mantener en su totalidad, no logran generar esa tensión en todo momento (No se mantiene el ritmo).
    La historia logra mantener al jugador a la expectativa de lo que va a pasar, ademas de integrar tomas de decisiones que alteran su curso final.
    Como conclusión final he de decir que Resident Evil 7 ha llegado en el mejor momento y que de ser este el rumbo a seguir en la saga, por lo menos por un par de títulos más y perfeccionando la técnica, solo nos queda esperar grandes títulos y quién sabe tal vez un nuevo integrante a la lista de los mejores resident ´s.    … Expand

The first half of the game has quite a few moments that are genuinely scary and the atmosphere stays consistently creepy. The game could have benefited from having a larger variety of enemies and puzzles, but what's on display is still effective.     I did not play this in VR which would probably have raised it's score. The first half of this game is as close to perfect as you can get in my opinion. Then, the 2nd half completely falls off a cliff and you can tell they were rushing to finish this project. Still, the first half of this game is so good that it got my Game of The Year for 2017.

    Resident Evil 7 is the 800th entry in the long running Resident Evil    I think RE7's graceful return to form is something worthy of the praise this titles received since its release in 2017, but while its changes are definitely something to be appreciated, especially after RE5 AND RE6 simply followed the grain of what was popular at the time, most of them fall flat in my opinion.

    Resident Evil 7 is the 800th entry in the long running Resident Evil franchise, and it's the first mainline game since the PlayStation 1 to focus solely on the horror, ever since Resident Evil 4 on the GameCube and PS2, the series has been going further and further into action, culminating in a visually loud yet shallow Resident Evil 6 back in 2012. The poor reception to which, made Capcom took a break from the series for 5 years getting their collective sh*t together for the next mainline entry, and they succeeded in bringing the series back to what made it standout in the first place.

    RE7 follow all around good guy, Ethan Winters, in a Blair Witch inspired first person Louisiana house looking for his wife Mia, in his search he meets such friendly faces as Jack Baker, the crazed, seemingly unkillable patriarch of the family, who is as funny in his dialogue as he is absolutely terrifying in gameplay. Marguerite Baker, the weird bug lady person who's dedicated section had my skin crawling with all the creepy buzzing sounds and bugs, Lucas Baker, who's just kind of insane, Grandma, who is Grandma, and Zoe Baker, your only friend and kind of hot partner in the Baker house... Look I'm not saying Ethan should've saved her over Mia I'm just saying I'd have liked to without getting the bad ending. This lovely Texas Chainsaw Massacre inspired family will be your main adversaries in the game and the only ones worth mentioning because the Molded honestly kinda suck.

    While I love the game, I can't help but think I'd have liked it more if it wasn't in first person, it's not terrible but considering the REmakes we got around the same time with RE2 and RE3 which were third person, I can't help but want that for these games too. Capcom not helping matters with their weird adamant refusal to show Ethan's face so we can "project ourselves onto him" well he has a wife so already I can't do that, and besides, I don't want to project myself onto Ethan I want Ethan to be his own character, the reason Chris, Leon, Jill and Claire are so beloved is because they're all their own larger than life characters, screw Ethan's relatability, Chris is a special forces officer, turned anti Bio Organic Weapon soldier WHO PUNCHES BOULDERS AND HAS A HOT SISTER, that's what I want in my main character, not to feel like ME, I don't like ME, I like CHRIS REDFIELD.

    All that being said, Resident Evil 7 is a great game and though Capcom fell short of following it up in the recent Resident Evil 8, I hope RE9 goes back to a primarily horror focus and we can all bond over our mutual love of pissing ourselves terrified.    … Expand

    I put this game off for so long because first-person view in any game normally tanks my interest by 90%. This was the first time I found it to be a benefit to immersion instead of a hindrance. The hype is real with this one.     Resident Evil 7 is a great comeback to the essence of the first trilogy in the series. I emphasize that I didn't play in VR and I found the game very good. The gameplay, the atmosphere, and the House of the Bakers reminds us of the horrific atmosphere of a real Resident Evil.

    Cae en los básicos Jumpscares de película de terror Americana y no hay mucha variedad de enemigos más que los Baker y las variaciones de los holomorfos.
    Al menos dejaron la ruta de acción de RE5 y RE6.

It returns to that classic, creepy horror atmosphere and genuine thrills. The swampy setting makes for a terrifying experience as you fight against a deranged family.     This is really the direction all future RE games should follow. The atmosphere is tense, the characters are minimal but memorable. A very good game for those who are fond of the horror genre. My only complaint is that the game is rather short (I've finished it in about 7-8 hours) and there doesn't seem to be a real incentive to play it again.

    This game is an 8.5. Horror games are usually not my genre of gaming but this game is so good that I enjoyed it the whole way through besides the brother the brother who is not that good. Everything else about the game the sound design gameplay thrill it’s a must by if you’re in the horror games

    من الآخر:

    1- اللعبة رجعت لطابع الرعب عكس الأكشن في الأجزاء السابقة بالأخص أن طريقة اللعب تغيرت وصارت منطور أول واللي يساعد بشكل كبير في هذا الشي.
    2- العبة فيها أكثر من نهاية وبشكل عام قدمت طريقة لعب فريدة باستخدام البليستيشن في آر.

    This is the first game in the series that I played. Cinematic is good. I think, characters well constructed. Most of people don't play this game for its story but I loved story (İndeed for Mia heh-heh). The gameplay part didn't bother me either.

    The gameplay is okay; everything works well, the shooting mechanics are satisfying and the survival horror elements are there, however, the movement is very slow and it gets annoying when facing the Molded; the main enemy type of the game and the only enemy type of the game, unfortunately.
    The atmosphere and the setting though, are probably my favorite parts of the game; they're haunting, terrifying and disgusting, which are backed up by very good graphics and audio design.
    As for the pacing, it's mostly consistent up until the last third of the game, where it feels dragged out, but the final boss is kinda cool.

    Pros:
    + Memorable antagonists
    + Decent gameplay
    + Compelling atmosphere + Wonderful setting
    + Beautiful visuals

    Cons:
    - Poor enemy variety

    In light of the boulder punching nonsense of Resident Evil 5 and 6, I was nervous about Resident Evil 7 but was pleasantly surprised to find out that it's more than an Outlast clone. It shows that when Capcom grants control to writer Richard Pearsey, who wrote Spec Ops: The Line, greatness will emerge. RE7 starts with our protagonist Ethan Winters in the midst of searching for his wife MiaIn light of the boulder punching nonsense of Resident Evil 5 and 6, I was nervous about Resident Evil 7 but was pleasantly surprised to find out that it's more than an Outlast clone. It shows that when Capcom grants control to writer Richard Pearsey, who wrote Spec Ops: The Line, greatness will emerge. RE7 starts with our protagonist Ethan Winters in the midst of searching for his wife Mia after receiving an odd video from her abroad while she worked a secret project before abruptly going missing. The search has taken Ethan out to an outskirt Louisiana bayou, within minutes of leaving their vehicle the player is in a lovely forest in bright daylight which was unexpected to say the least. Though as the player travels toward their destination the surroundings become more and more grim (this includes a graphic ritualistic vivisection of a horse). Finally at the end of the trail Ethan finds himself at the gates of the seemingly abandoned Baker family residence. This cliché yet unique intro is probably the best horror intro I've encountered maybe ever. Just to give the player an idea of what they are in for throughout the game, Ethan quickly becomes gravely injured and even loses a hand (though miraculously healing via green water). A phone rings with the voice of Zoe Baker on the line who warns Ethan of the troubles at home and offers help. It is around this time that we meet the whole Baker family. The father Jack, mother Marguerite, son Lucas, and grandma. All of whom have more personality in their individual selves than RE 5 & 6 have in their whole games. Naturally, dinner with the fam does not go well for Ethan which violently upsets Jack. Upon escaping daddy you are left to the horrors of the mansion. Through every hall there are a number of puzzles to solve which require great skill to complete. Not because the puzzles are difficult, but because of the horrifying Venom like creatures stalking and assaulting the player at every turn. As one can predict each of the Baker family members has a unique area and boss fights (yes, fights with an S because you will face each one a number of times). If you have a fear of insects, mother Marguerite is one you should mentally prepare for. Throughout each area the story unfolds beautifully, and sometimes annoyingly due to a lack of inventory space. This can be improved on but in classic RE fashion it's never massive and has no auto organize feature. You may end up wondering "How is this a Resident Evil game without Umbrella?" but be patient, you'll get there, and find the worst of the worst Eveline along the way. From a technical perspective RE7 can be a challenging game as the movement is very janky, Ethan runs and walks as though he weighs a metric ton, which is a big negative for me. The mold monsters are also a negative, they're bullet sponges who only exist to fill space while you do your stuff, and their design is a little uninspired. The long and short of it is that if you enjoyed Resident Evil 2,3, and 4, you will definitely enjoy this one. Even though the story lacks some of that classic camp. In addition there are no necessary microtransactions or overly expensive DLC.… Expand

    - RE also loves throwing cheap jump scares at you pretty often;

    - the second part of the game feels like it was made in a rush before hitting a release deadline, with fewer things happening, no new challenges, fights, or puzzles.
    - the whole "big choice" thing is disappointing. You'd expect much more impact on the ending than it actually has;

    Bellissima la prima parte all'interno della casa, personaggi inquietanti e situazioni claustrofobiche. Adrenalina assicurata.
    Seconda parte un po' in calo.
    Longevo al punto giusto e livello di sfida ben bilanciato.

But that said, once it gets going, ya get locked into it.

    The one particular complaint I want to include here is that the VR mode is better at most points, but then there are other points where I just flat-out wasn't looking at the right area for certain jump scares like I would've in non-VR and it actually confused me.     Overall, great game, though. The story is more believable than most Resident Evil titles. The grittiness in the atmosphere makes the environment feel somewhat less fictional, which makes the scares from abnormal circumstances remain engaging, even when it gets ridiculous. Comes off a little bit like an homage to multiple classic horror movies, but it ties it all together organically enough to not feel like fan service. The environments and enemies scared me and the story compelled me to progress through the game. Although Ethan is an annoying main character and the is a weird decision you make late in the game, the game is still really great and I'd recommend it to anyone who likes horror.… Expand

    It starts out absolutely amazing, so scary and the atmosphere is fantastic, gameplay is fun, puzzles are fun. Then about 3 quarters into the game the game decides to be super mid. If you’ve played the game you know what I’m talking about. 10/10 first 3 quarters and 3/10 last quarter. Capcom had some serious potential here but they just messed up the last part of the game.

    Excellent level design and atmosphere. Great combat. Enemy design is noticeably lacking and the story has noticeable flaws. The game however is just so good regardless of these flaws.

    Truly a terrifying and yet fun game, the tragic story of the Bakers is truly a story worth playing. The story almost feels like a puzzle at times with trying to link the dlc and the main story together. If you're looking for a good scare or two with a great story, then this is the game for you.

    I overall loved it. I probably would have rated it a 9-10 if I had rated it when the game released. It unfortunately shows its age a bit, especially when compared to RE8.

    RE7 bring the saga back to true horror. Claustrophobic, looney, pure madness around you from brilliantly designed characters. They keep spoiling the great work done on characters with the non-sense bulky super-monsters they become, for the boss fight... Why? They are so predictable, it doesnt make them a boss fight at all!

The survival element is, as usual in RE, not done too well. The game also seems more linear than 1 and 2.     Classic masterpiece. It is a legendary game that even uses the Jumpscare feature in its place and manages to scare you even when you are standing still.

    It could be 10/10 but the charecter movement is slow and the handguns are mostly useless so fighting against enemies can be very messy regardless it's very enjoyable, has a good story, exploration and one of the best boss battles in all of re games

    Fun scary and over the top. It somehow doesn't feel like resident evil at all but also does at the same time. If you like the series this is one of the more interesting entries.

    My first resident evil game. immediately fell in love with the game and the resident evil franchise. This game doesn't have the same vibe as the previous one where you are a cop fighting zombies, it has a vibe of a classic horror movie where you explore a house with a **** up family. Overall good story I suggest you give this game a try!

    Honestly, I don’t know if the world is ready for a game like Resident Evil 7: Biohazard in VR and that’s exactly what makes it so exhilarating.

    Whether played in VR or not, Resident Evil 7: biohazard is a thrilling game and it shouldn’t be missed. If you have the option to play the game with a PSVR, you should by all means do so. Regardless of how you play Resident Evil 7: biohazard, just be sure that you do because it is one of 2017’s finest releases and the constant stream of DLC keeps the nightmare alive.
