Red Dead Redemption is a game that will stand the test of time no matter what. Similar to the westerns of the past like ‘The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly’. It’s a 13-year-old game, but the charm is still there. Well-written characters, an open world full of exploration, and good gameplay are enough to hold up strong. The West will always hold a special place in my heart and life. ‘Red Dead Redemption’ will always be a masterpiece.

It's a shame that the port shows so little effort, because the original game is still a masterpiece. Even with the flaws of the port, you should definitively play it.

Red Dead Redemption is an unbelievably good game, even in 2023, however the lack of effort put into elevating the game to the current day’s technical benchmarks damages its modern legacy.

Objectively, Red Dead Redemption is a true classic. Not only does it conclude the beloved story of both its successor and predecessor, but it does so with equal flourish and narrative quality. [Issue#330]

Red Dead Redemption as a game is still a fantastic romp that any cowboy or open world fan should experience. Meanwhile, playing it on my PS5 (via backwards compatibility) is a treat, even if it doesn’t change how the game runs or looks. It has one of the best open worlds you can ask for and a compelling story to boot. But, it’s bogged down by its lazy cash-grab nature, with the Rockstar team opting to do away with content and instead do the absolute bare minimum.

Regardless of the feature-light port and general sparseness of the package, Red Dead Redemption still earns its place as one of the finest games ever made. Even if its follow-up improved upon everything, this was a joyful blast to the past, reminding me that all greatness starts somewhere. For those looking to live out another cowboy fantasy before Rockstar decides to release Red Dead Redemption III, they can certainly do worse than this.

Although it is not the version expected by many players, Red Dead Redemption shows strength as one of the best games of all time. The 2023 version is the most stable option, but it could be much better.

There's no way to dislike this, Red Dead Redemption was a fantastic game and still is today, but this is a shameless cash grab like no other.

Rockstar's magnum opus still holds up after all this time, but its re-release leaves much to be desired with its lackluster "improvements."

After all these years, Red Dead Redemption is still a great game that offers players a highly engaging gameplay experience. However, the PS4 port isn't something that can easily be recommended to those who've already played the game.

The bottom line here is that Red Dead Redemption deserves so much more.

Ridiculously overpriced for a 13 year old port. This should have been a complete remake.

This game is an absolute huge steaming pile of garbage. This is easily the worst "remaster" I have ever seen in my life. The greedy developersThis game is an absolute huge steaming pile of garbage. This is easily the worst "remaster" I have ever seen in my life. The greedy developers are charging $50 for a 13 year old port without any improvements. This outrageous greed makes EA and Activision look like saints in comparison. To make matters worse, it's only half of the game. Where's the multiplayer? These left-wing liberal bully-victims at Rockstar wouldn't shut up about their hatred for capitalism in GTA games. According to them, capitalism is dirty business in which you rip people off and get paid for it. That's exactly what these hypocrites are doing with their ports. Speaking of hypocrisy, Rockstar made fun of COD for being the same game as the last in GTA 5. At least COD has actual new games every year. After the release of RDR2, it's been nothing but re-releases. I don't want to hear any excuses about this being Take-Two's fault. If it were up to Take-Two, they would've forced these lazy developers to release a new GTA before PS5 launch. Clearly T2 gives Rockstar too much freedom.

It's funny seeing these toy-collecting millennials claiming Rockstar were "consumer friendly" in the past. Rockstar has always been greedy, it's just you millennials were either too little to care or easily fooled by these companies. And don't even get me started with Rockstar San Diego's greed. They cut Midnight Club 1 in half and called the other half Smuggler's Run. Don't forget they joined the greedy trend of releasing an incomplete game with RDR 1, only to release the complete game within a year. Undead Nightmare came out only 5 months after RDR, you mean to tell me they couldn't wait to release the complete game within that timeframe? That reminds me, they did this with Midnight Club 3 on PS2 when they released the Remix edition one year later, meaning you had to pay a total of $100 to get the complete MC3 experience if you had bought the original. Sure they're greedier and lazier than ever before, but my point still stands. This is the same company that couldn't even give characters fingers on the original PS2 GTA Trilogy for goodness sake.

As I mentioned before, there's no multiplayer. So once you beat the story, there's literally not a reason to play this game again. Charging $50 for a game with no replay value is a cash grab. I see Rockstar is taking a page from Naughty Dog by re-releasing games at $50+ without the multiplayer. I'm sick to death of these developers cutting games in half. Rockstar couldn't even do the bare minimum and give this game fps boost. You think that's bad? It only gets worse from here. These developers couldn't even make a PS5 version. Are you freaking kidding me? A PS4 and Switch only release in 2023 is what you would expect from no-name developers making shovelware, not a AAA studio making bank. That's embarrassing and pathetic. Not even EA would stoop that low. Rockstar are so greedy, so lazy and cheap, I'm about to lose it so I'll end it here. I don't recommend this poor excuse of a port at all.

Trash, you can probably get a PS3 and a used copy for $50 and not give rockstar money for their "effort". They've become a joke.
