Я фанат RDR 2, але Rockstar опускаються до рівня EA і Ubisoft, тому що просити за гру 50$ якій вже 13 років це дорого, це навіть не ремастер. Я дуже чекав що гра вийде на пк але ви й цього не зробили. Strauss Zelnyk suck my dick.

The original game was great for the ps3 at that time. This is just a ported version for much to much. It's just disrespectful to the fans and makers of the game to put so few effort in and ask a so high price. It screams just "Take two needs cash without doing something for it"

I will buy it as soon as they properly remastered it.

This outrageous greed makes EA and Activision look like saints in comparison. To make matters worse, it's only half of the game. Where's the multiplayer? These left-wing liberal bully-victims at Rockstar wouldn't shut up about their hatred for capitalism in GTA games. According to them, capitalism is dirty business in which you rip people off and get paid for it. That's exactly what these hypocrites are doing with their ports. Speaking of hypocrisy, Rockstar made fun of COD for being the same game as the last in GTA 5. At least COD has actual new games every year. After the release of RDR2, it's been nothing but re-releases. I don't want to hear any excuses about this being Take-Two's fault. If it were up to Take-Two, they would've forced these lazy developers to release a new GTA before PS5 launch. Clearly T2 gives Rockstar too much freedom.

It's funny seeing these toy-collecting millennials claiming Rockstar were "consumer friendly" in the past. Rockstar has always been greedy, it's just you millennials were either too little to care or easily fooled by these companies. And don't even get me started with Rockstar San Diego's greed. They cut Midnight Club 1 in half and called the other half Smuggler's Run. Don't forget they joined the greedy trend of releasing an incomplete game with RDR 1, only to release the complete game within a year. Undead Nightmare came out only 5 months after RDR, you mean to tell me they couldn't wait to release the complete game within that timeframe? That reminds me, they did this with Midnight Club 3 on PS2 when they released the Remix edition one year later, meaning you had to pay a total of $100 to get the complete MC3 experience if you had bought the original. Sure they're greedier and lazier than ever before, but my point still stands. This is the same company that couldn't even give characters fingers on the original PS2 GTA Trilogy for goodness sake.

As I mentioned before, there's no multiplayer. So once you beat the story, there's literally not a reason to play this game again. Charging $50 for a game with no replay value is a cash grab. I see Rockstar is taking a page from Naughty Dog by re-releasing games at $50+ without the multiplayer. I'm sick to death of these developers cutting games in half. Rockstar couldn't even do the bare minimum and give this game fps boost. You think that's bad? It only gets worse from here. These developers couldn't even make a PS5 version. Are you freaking kidding me? A PS4 and Switch only release in 2023 is what you would expect from no-name developers making shovelware, not a AAA studio making bank. That's embarrassing and pathetic. Not even EA would stoop that low. Rockstar are so greedy, so lazy and cheap, I'm about to lose it so I'll end it here. I don't recommend this poor excuse of a port at all.

This game is also available on Xbox at 30 fps for $30 thanks to backward compatibility, but on PS5, you have to pay $50 for the same experience.

The game itself is very good, and it's fortunate that no one from Grove Street Games touched it (thank God), but $50 is a completely inadequate price.

It's a port, a good port on both consoles that exactly resembles the original changing the resolution on ps4 and switch 1080p (improved on ps4 pro and ps5, 4k), shadow improvements and less blur, with some new subtitle languages plus the dlc (one of the best dlc ever).

Remember that in the case of playstation it could be free if the console was backwards compatible, sony's fault.

The original game is a masterpiece and even with a few additions this version still is. And even with the years that have passed and taking that into account, it seems to me a much better game than current games.

Online content from Game of the Year Edition is absent. UI assets, including the map, are stuck in 720p resolution and don't look great.

    Thoughts-
Red Dead Redemption is a fantastic game, but this re-release leaves much to be desired. It offers one of the best stories in gaming, not to mention a well-designed open world and incredible music. The overall art direction and production values are great, nostalgia blinders or not, but that’s no excuse for the bare minimum features and improvements, never mind the cut content. Trouble is the bugs, of which there are still a LOT. Visual glitches, and animation glitches. My health bar being stuck at full health thru the whole time, no matter how hurt Marston actually was. Marston being wanted and telegram offices not being available anywhere (and no, this did not flush with reload). And so on.
Sure, I could beat missions anyways, bugs and all, even tho it did take much more retakes and medicine than in the PS3 and 360 versions, which I have completed many times. But it kept taking away the fun.
I can only give this 6/10 for being buggy mess. Once they fix the issues, and I really hope they do, it might be worth 8/10.

A ridiculous sense of entitlement coupled with a complete inability to process their emotions without raging about it all over the internet. Whilst funny at first, it has become a bore dealing their petulance over a private company daring to release products to make money.

Now as someone who 100%'d and Platinum'd both the original Red Dead Redemption on PS3, and Red Dead Redemption 2 on the PS4, and played almost 2000 hours of Red Dead Online, I think I have a better appreciation of these games than most here.

The story is fantastic. John is forced by the Government to hunt down his former gang mates. He travels around multiple states and Mexico and gets sucked into a whole bunch of odd situations by the weird and wacky characters that he meets on the way. I'm not joking, there are some incredibly strange people involved. If you've only ever played RDR2 then it feels a lot more like the epilogue than the main game being that you have no gang to back you up. John is a lot more interesting, not so dumb like in RDR2, and has some really insightful things to say. It might reveal why some of us still prefer John over Arthur. New Austin and West Elizabeth are both far more fleshed out than in RDR2 so there's plenty of fresh exploration to be done, plus Mexico makes an appearance which is a whole vibe in itself. There's still plenty of things to do in the world such as odd jobs and mini games alongside the main and stranger missions.

The mechanics are definitely a step down from RDR2 being that this is an older game, but they're perfectly serviceable. Shooting feels weird if you're used to RDR2, being a tad more clunky to aim around the body when locking on, but you can also choose to play without any auto-aim if that's your preference. Melee is extremely basic compared to what was offered in RDR2.
There is a complete lack of character maintenance which is perfect for those out there who struggle with the feeding/stamina/weight mechanics of RDR2 like one of my friends, or if you're just like me and never liked having to manage those things and just wanted to focus on the game.

Visually the game is as stunning as ever. As a matter of fact all RAGE based R* titles are stunning. It is a wonder what rendering the game at a higher resolution will achieve with these games. Certainly some things can't be improved by a simple increase in resolution, such as facial models and textures, but they hold up well enough.
On the PS4 Pro and thus the PS5, the game runs at native 4k at a consistent 30fps. 60fps support would have been nice even as an experimental toggle in the options, but the 30fps rarely drops so the it doesn't feel jittery at all to play.

Finally, Undead Nightmare, one of the best DLCs I've ever played that offers a whole new story where zombies awaken on Earth and John has to deal with them, is included in this version of the game. It features a new story and a bunch of new mythological creatures to go with it.

Some notes I have on things that people have complained about:

UI - I would have definitely liked to have seen the UI redone to match the rest of the game in 4k. As it stands it is too low of a resolution for my liking, but it's no big deal. Having said that, however, gutting the map and menu and replacing it might have taken away the charm of those parts of the UI, so it might be a blessing in disguise that they didn't touch it.

Multiplayer - I loved the multiplayer in the original. It was an unique experience that I would have loved to see return, much like I do for many MP games of that era, but its absence isn't the end of the world. Let's take off the nostalgic goggles for a second and remember that the primary gameplay loop was running around the map beating the same gang hideouts over and over again, and the PvP, whilst having some of the best modes I've ever played in a R* game, was completely unbalanced where getting to a certain gun spawn first almost certainly ensured a win. Amazing fun at the time in 2010, but its a whole lot of work to fix up the exploits and release it when the vast majority of people never played it anyway.
Don't believe me? Check the trophy data for the PS3 version of RDR1. Only 26.9% of players killed someone with the Red Dead Rockstar trophy, which is so easy that it would be almost impossible to miss at it's peak. Meanwhile only 2.0% ever reached the top rank.
It really is not a big deal to most people.

So why did i give it a 10? Simply because I believe the OG version to be a 10 and this is the OG but better. Just because it is not a remaster or remake doesn't suddenly make the game not a 10, and certainly doesn't make it a 0.

Don't listen to a bunch of people on the internet who can't seem to form an opinion of their own without reading and regurgitating some angry kid on Twitter/X's opinion first. If you haven't had a chance to play the game, or you want the game on a system that isn't rendering in 640p and possibly either buried in a garage or in your kid's room somewhere, don't hesitate. This is an incredibly solid port, and despite what others may think, it does take work to port a thirteen year old game to modern systems. It isn't lazy, it isn't bad, these people are simply miffed that they didn't get Red Dead Redemption 2: The Marston Years. It is a little disappointing that it runs at 30fps on PS4 Pro and PS5, but it's still solid for what it is. The price may seem a little daunting, and I agree, BUT these guys screaming that the Xbox version is cheaper are full of it. This version includes all of the DLC, which on Xbox is roughly $13 plus $29.99 for the base game. That brings the total to $42.99 plus tax. You're saving a whooping $7.01. I would say that genuinely isn't that big of a deal. Use reason people, make up your own minds, and don't let some angry dorks influence your decision. Do the research and trust your gut, buy it on sale if you don't want to pay the $50, because it WILL be on sale at some point. Also, RockStar and their Publishers will not 'listen to your wallet'. The problem with that logic is twofold. For one, there is going to be a whole lot of people that don't have an Xbox and have either never played the game or just don't want to drag out the old PS3 (or in some cases purchase a PS3) to play their old copy of the game. These people are going to buy and play the game, and they are not in the vocal minority complaining online because they're too busy enjoying the game. There are also people that are either Nintendo nuts that have never had a chance to play, or just want the game in portable format that are going to snatch up the Switch version in droves (I bought it day one for my Switch because I don't get a whole lot of chances to sit down in front of a TV to game, and I also bought the PS4 version because my son wants to play the game.) The second major reason that the 'wallet vote' thing is crap is because Rockstar is huge. They won't take a major hit on this one. This is doubly true when you factor in all of the people I've previously mentioned that are buying the game, alongside the fact that GTA VI will likely be out within two years and will recoup any potential losses that may (or most likely may not) occur with this port. Your collective $50 a piece is not going to hurt a multi-billion dollar company. Anyhow, I know I spoke little on the game itself. It really is a great port. I haven't had any issues, and it's wonderful to finally get to play this again without having to throw down $300-$500 for an Xbox. Expand

Un port PEREZOSO y que además llega muy tarde a precio de triple A de lanzamiento. Este tipo de malas prácticas deben acabar.

Same game you played over a decade ago on a decade old system but, and this is the great part, now it's $50! Isn't it great? Thank the heavens for Strauss Zelnick and the brilliant minds at Rockstar for re-gifting us this gem that they gave us before.... Sad thing is people will still buy this.

It's literally the same game as it originally released, people are just pissed that it's 50 bucks. But it's a great game. Review bombers are something else...

This remaster is no different from the original game. The very decision to "remaster" an already dead game already seems idiotic and another demonstration that this is not Rockstar, which was the "quality standard of game dev", but impostors who decide to ruin their reputation before the release of GTA 6. This is the last straw for the fans, they can't do it anymore. After that, I'm notThis remaster is no different from the original game. Laziest port in recent memory. Rockstar clearly don’t give a damn and haven’t learnt from their lacklustre GTA remasters. They have lived long enough to become the villains in the gaming industry.

Corporate greed at its finest. Rockstar never fail to dissapoint nowadays. The fact they keep getting away with this sort of stuff is seriously unreal. Releasing the same game 3 gens in a row, broken remasters and now this low effort cash grab.

I'm just here to express my deep dissatisfaction with this ridiculous unsupported port for PC.

É triste ver que a Rockstar decaiu tanto nos últimos anos. Lançar um port de um jogo de 2010 com legendas pelo preço de um AAA lançamento é simplesmente um absurdo.

Objectively, Red Dead Redemption is a true classic. Not only does it conclude the beloved story of both its successor and predecessor, but it does so with equal flourish and narrative quality. [Issue#330]

Red Dead Redemption as a game is still a fantastic romp that any cowboy or open world fan should experience. Meanwhile, playing it on my PS5 (via backwards compatibility) is a treat, even if it doesn’t change how the game runs or looks. It has one of the best open worlds you can ask for and a compelling story to boot. But, it’s bogged down by its lazy cash-grab nature, with the Rockstar team opting to do away with content and instead do the absolute bare minimum.

Red Dead Redemption is an unbelievably good game, even in 2023, however the lack of effort put into elevating the game to the current day’s technical benchmarks damages its modern legacy.
