    I have just reached chapter 3 and I can't get myself to keep playing. The world is beautiful and Arthur is very likeable. The tale that the game is weaving is nothing short of impressive. However, the gameplay if you can even call it that is insulting. The gameplay aspect to this game is probably made for four year olds. We need a new word to describe how scripted this game is, becauseI have just reached chapter 3 and I can't get myself to keep playing. The world is beautiful and Arthur is very likeable. We need a new word to describe how scripted this game is, because "scripted" is no longer enough, this game takes it to a whole new level. Every fight I have had is mind numbingly easy and scripted.     it's 2022 , i've experienced more than 150 games in 2 decades of my life ... my opinion on read dead 2
    Graphic : 10/10 the way they designed and optimized that world is pretty impressive
    gameplay:8/10 level design was not that professional and realistic when you stand against 100 man and you pull the trigger and you can easily run or walk to cover , should be more action and realistic    it's 2022 , i've experienced more than 150 games in 2 decades of my life ... my opinion on read dead 2

    story : 8/10 , first 50% of the game was too boring and repetitive , it was more like wasting time .. some part of the story could've been much better
    they dedicated a lot of time for creating details that might no one can see or notice it but they missed some crucial part of the game like gameplay and story ... overall i respect the work    … Expand

    I wanted to give it a 7, but a 7 fits into the medium category and for me it's not fair. The game is good, very good, but I missed some novelties within the narrative, at some point everything gets very repetitive, I didn't like the end of the main character's arc (Arthur Morgan) either. Something that bothers me about the narrative is that a lot of things just don't have what you do, it happens the way the game wants it to happen, and I don't like that very much. I like to play the game, do things. But, they are small caveats next to the game's great successes. Simply the largest and most immersing open world experience in the gaming world, all the exploration and side quest capabilities bring the game to life in a way never seen before.     Red Dead Redemption II isn't just a game, it's a life experience. Every detail in this game makes you think that that virtual universe is real and alive. RD2 is a milestone in the gaming industry, and it certainly shows that it is possible to make games close to perfection.
    Graphics, plot, gameplay, characters, all technical features are perfect.

    For me, it's rare that a game encapsulates why I started playing video games. Escapism. That's the one-word reason that I started playing games. I wanted to be whisked away to a world I can only dream of. In Red Dead Redemption 2, not only do I feel like I am right there in 1899, but I care about every single character. The slow burn to create the tension may be tedious and boring to some, and I would typically agree, but the pure excitement that this game creates at even the most uninteresting plot-lines is absurd.     This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Big up to Rockstar Games for giving it their all. I enjoyed playing it, but for me it has no replay value. Thinking of how tedious doing chores or looting it, kinda puts me off. I can’t say I care more for the dialogue it’s not as ground breaking at the trailers led me to believe. My biggest gripe was that player choice wasn’t the driving force at the centre of the game. Like that one mission where Arthur catches TB, was that the only way for events to unfold? I think not. Instead we were forced to play through a linear story in an open word game. Games like The Witcher 3 really lean into player choices and ultimately the game concludes how to choose depending on my interactions. MSG 5 also gave players the freedom to choose how go about handling missions, RDR2 on the other, you can’t stealth the entire game which is a letdown. Much respect for what they were going for, it’s lacking but that doesn’t mean it’s a bad game.… Expand

    This is more a 8,5/10 game according to me. Red Dead Redemption 2 is a spectacular game with an epic story and massive amount of immersive details that you won't see in other games. Rockstar takes a lot of time to develop their games but it definitely worth it. That being said, I don't think this game is for everyone though...In term of gameplay, leveling system and controls, it'sThis is more a 8,5/10 game according to me. Rockstar takes a lot of time to develop their games but it definitely worth it. That being said, I don't think this game is for everyone though...In term of gameplay, leveling system and controls, it's lacking...As a gamer, it's not the type of game where you will improve yourself. Just to give you an exemple, I'm sure you can complete all the missions without improving your weapons or any of your skills. This is not a classic RPG but more an immersive simulator that has a wonderful and emotional story. If English is not your first language (like me), I recommand that you use the subtitles.… Expand

Your character's group quickly become your shackles, even conversations with them get overly repetitive and dull. Your character too, is dull - not the bad but fun criminal I wanted him to be. Disappointing how you cannot access the other half of the map (Red Dead 1) until the very end when it feels pointless to continue. They tried too hard making this a real-life simulator rather than a fun game like the first Red Dead game was when you feel like a rogue, like a true lone wolf. Truly an overrated game but worth playing once for sure.… Expand

    Best open world game so far and you feel the general quality is at top. If you compare it with other games you can feel the difference between those games. Nothing has ever got even close to this level of quality to me.

    I'm playing video games since 2004 and RDR2 is one of the best games ever made. Graphics are ahead of its time, gameplay mechanics are realistic yet so fun and the story / storytelling is top notch. What else you can expect from a video game ?

    Masterpiece, period. A must have title for any gamer put there. You will spend numerous hours going through fantastic storyline and multiple challenges. Can't recommend this enough even years after original release date.

    It’s an huge, outstanding piece of art – worth the hard-earned cash as well as countless hours that are needed to get to know at least some of the attractions of Rockstar’s rendition of Wild West. For those who put story first – the biggest virtue of Red Dead Redemption 2 is that it sets the stage for RDR 1 and does it wonderfully. [13/2018, p.40]

    Amazing not only for Western lovers. No other game has probably offered so many options to express yourself in the open world, and at the same time did not have such an interesting, rough and moving story. A magnificent experience, with a slightly slower start. [Issue#291]
