A very high-quality and cool game. The realism is quite high. The plot is interesting. Live game world. There is something to do in the game even without the main storyline. The disadvantages are subjective and not critical.
The game is too casual, yes, this is the framework of the genre, but for me personally, such a low difficulty reduces my interest. Sometimes the fetch quests are annoying.

i love this game. like, the gta series is boring for me. in their game series something was missing. and i know what - the realism. i love how rdr 2 gives you 100 times more ways to spend time in game, unlike gta sa or gta v. this slow world is not hurrying to live. so this gives me a really good atmosphere, which was expanded with soundtracks, quests., characters, and most importantly -i love this game. like, the gta series is boring for me. in their game series something was missing. and i know what - the realism. i love how rdr 2 gives you 100 times more ways to spend time in game, unlike gta sa or gta v. this slow world is not hurrying to live. so this gives me a really good atmosphere, which was expanded with soundtracks, quests., characters, and most importantly - story. that story isn't fantastic, like they all is very successful members of gang. so, if u love chill games - you should try it Expand

It is surely on the top 3 games ever released for the story, the gameplay, the level of immersion, the realism, the amount of detail and the relationships between characters. Arthur Morgan and the other gang members feel alive, as if they were real persons. If you did not cry at the end of the game - you have no soul.

Graphics: On the console of 2013, I can hardly judge the graphics, but they are generally well done, especially the landscapes in this game are the best of all games in my opinion, but minus the graphics in the textures, if you look at them, they look soapy, even on ultra-texture settings on the PC, they are still bad, and the rendering of the game is not so good. Graphics: 7.5/10 Gameplay: Perhaps the weakest side of RDR2, the gameplay is quite boring, especially in missions, riding a horse for 10 minutes for a shootout in 5 minutes is a huge minus in the game design of the mission, you need to buy fast travel in the camp, without spending money on it in the camp, this makes the game even more boring, but maybe someone likes this kind of gameplay Gameplay: 4/10 Audio: The sounds in this game are very good, the sounds of nature and animals are well done, the music is great and it REALLY made me feel better Audio: 10/10 Technical requirements: To play with such graphics, the requirements are good, for example, you don’t need a very powerful PC to play at medium settings, the very fact that the game is pulled by a 2013 console and it looks so good these are already good requirements, but in cities like Valentine or Saint-Denis FPS drops when riding or running Specifications: 8/10 Atmosphere: Very good atmosphere of nature, you feel how this world is alive, I think RDR is the only game that boasts a living world, especially if you play at night it's even better Atmosphere: 10/10 Difficulty: The game isn't hard, Rockstar Games don't make games hard, that's why they don't give you a choice of difficulty level. On PS4 with auto-aim in gunplay, the game is even easier, but in some challenges and other activities, it takes a lot of work to complete the game 100%, and the difficulty is that 100% completion takes a long time Difficulty: 7/10 Plot: I liked the plot and the game breaks through the emotions of joy, sadness and fear of not knowing what will happen next in this game, but in places it is stretched and unclear Plot: 8/10 Price: I bought the game a year ago and after the full completion I just left a review, in my country after the past 4 years after the release it cost $ 35, for such a game I think this is an underestimated price Price: 10/10 Optimization: The game is well optimized on the console, Rockstar has no problems with this, but on the PC version of the game, optimization is not so good and in the first days of release there were many bugs both with the entrance to the game and inside the game, and even now mine has a lot of them a friend who has a PC, but since I'm judging the game on the console, the score will not take into account the failure of optimization from the PC Optimization: 8.5/10 Overall result: 8/10 Expand

I have come back to try this game over and over again and I just can't bring myself to finish this game. The graphics are beautiful, sure, but the gameplay is below average. There's not a whole lot to do in the baren open world, besides a few side quests, hunting, or fishing, which feels rather pointless. Most buildings you can't enter or rob, and majority of npcs will pull guns out while your rob them while having a shotgun in their face. Expand

It took me three tries to get into this game. The first time I gave up and moved on to something else after the trip down the mountain/broken wheel section. The second time I made it to when Dutch and Arthur enter Saint Denis. The third time, though, was the charm. I restarted the game from scratch, paid attention to the dialogue, and became wrapped.

The controls (especially when riding) have a learning curve. One of the reasons I quit the second time is because my horse was crashing into things every other time and causing me to fail missions, get arrested, die, or piss off a stranger into shooting me. Trust me, I got over it. You need to invest serious time, energy, and attention into it, and it will greatly reward you for it. As close to a masterpiece as you're going to get.

Set in the vast open-world landscape of the American Wild West, the game promised an immersive and thrilling experience. While many praised the game's stunning graphics, detailed narrative, and character development, there is a growing sentiment among some players that the gameplay itself falls short of expectations. In this article, we will explore the reasons why Red Dead Redemption 2 can be perceived as lacking in excitement and why it may be considered boring by some.

    1. Pacing and Repetitive Activities

One of the primary complaints about Red Dead Redemption 2 is its slow pacing and the abundance of repetitive activities. The game's realistic portrayal of the Wild West might have been intended to immerse players fully, but it often feels like a burden. Endless horse riding across vast landscapes, maintaining the camp's needs, and completing mundane chores for the gang can become monotonous and tedious after a while. Although realism is important in a game, it shouldn't come at the expense of engaging gameplay.

    2. Limited Interactivity in the Open World

Despite the expansive and visually impressive open world, the level of interactivity with it is surprisingly limited. Players may expect to engage in various dynamic activities, but many of the in-game events feel scripted and lack meaningful consequences. While there are random encounters and side quests scattered throughout the world, the majority of these interactions are rather superficial, failing to leave a lasting impact on the overall gameplay experience.

    3. Clunky Controls and Mechanics

Some players have criticized the clunky and often frustrating controls and mechanics of Red Dead Redemption 2. Maneuvering the main character, Arthur Morgan, can feel sluggish and imprecise, particularly during intense combat sequences. Additionally, the game's complex systems, such as weapon management, item crafting, and horse handling, can be overwhelming, leading to a steeper learning curve and potentially deterring casual players.

    4. Limited Player Agency

While the game's narrative is well-crafted and emotionally charged, it can also be quite linear, leaving little room for player agency. The choices available to the player often have minimal impact on the overall story, leading to a sense of disconnection from the character's progression. A more open-ended approach to the narrative could have added a layer of excitement and replayability to the game.

    5. Lack of Meaningful Rewards

Red Dead Redemption 2's focus on realism extends to the rewards system, which can feel unrewarding for players seeking a sense of accomplishment. Completing missions and side quests may not always yield substantial rewards, leaving players feeling like their efforts are not adequately recognized. A more balanced reward structure that incentivizes player progress could have made the gameplay more satisfying.

    Conclusion

While Red Dead Redemption 2 received critical acclaim for its storytelling, world-building, and attention to detail, it's essential to acknowledge that it may not cater to everyone's preferences in terms of gameplay. The slow pace, repetitive tasks, limited interactivity, clunky controls, lack of player agency, and unsatisfying rewards system contribute to the perception of boredom for some players. Ultimately, the game's appeal largely depends on individual tastes, with some players finding the immersive experience captivating, while others may consider it lacking in excitement.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Truly one of if not the greatest video game ever made. There is so much to love about this game and so little to hate.

Visually the game is by far the most stunning I've played so far. Beautiful landscapes, towns, and wildernesses of all types make the game feel alive and real. It's one of the few games that makes you just want to stop and look at how amazing it is. This is easily the game that best shows the natural Beauty of the U.S. Graphically speaking all the animations, tiny details, slice of life moments, etc, all are rendered beautifully and give the world an unmatched sense of reality.

That world wouldn't be nearly as impressive of course if it was empty...which RDR2's world certainly isn't. Setting main content aside, the amount of secrets, side quests, stories, characters, and more that dot the map is truly insane. There's always something interesting and unique to discover or take part in.

Speaking of main content. Red Dead's Story might seem long for a game...but is it easily one of the best stories ever told in gaming. The adventures of the Vanderlinde Gang, Dutch's Fall, Micah's betrayal, John's evolution, and Arthur's journey through it all make for a story on par with some of the greatest novels, TV shows, or movies ever made. Beyond the story itself, the writing, character interactions, voice acting, and more all make it a truly unforgettable experience.

The gameplay is awesome too, with both combat and other forms of gameplay feeling realistic, reactive, and satisfying. Seriously it's just really fun to shoot stuff in this game...or hunt...or fish...etc. The only drawback to it in my opinion is somethings missions are a bit rudimentary in design...essentially with the player being guided on rails non-stop when inside a mission. It contrasts a lot with the very open and choice driven nature of the rest of the game. Mostly a Rockstar thing rather than this game....but honestly this is such a small complaint for me it doesn't matter.

Overall a brilliant game that I cannot recommend enough.

Gameplay and world building is a strong feature in this game and the graphics are the most realistic in a video game yet. Each of the characters have diverse opinions and features that make them stand out from the crowd. The storyline is memorable and can be considered one of the best that any video game has to offer. Highly recommend. Very rarely does a video game do so many things well from its diverse open world to intriguing characters, good game! im just not really feeling the old western vibe anymore and i kinda got bored aft playing it once so i just completely stopped my second playthrough which may have smth to say abt the replayability. overall not too bad. It’s an huge, outstanding piece of art – worth the hard-earned cash as well as countless hours that are needed to get to know at least some of the attractions of Rockstar’s rendition of Wild West. For those who put story first – the biggest virtue of Red Dead Redemption 2 is that it sets the stage for RDR 1 and does it wonderfully. [13/2018, p.40]
