I've never played a Persona game before, but decided to give this a chance because a friend of mine really insisted. Usually you can do something after school, and then something else in the evening. But the fact that a LOT of days that stupid Morgana just insists that i'm tired and should sleep, even if nothing major happened, thus wasting my day really pissed me off. Other than that it's a pretty good exclusive j-RPG. Expand

Anyways, I told myself that I would only buy it if it had over 30 hours of game play, I'm pretty slow at beating games. When I looked it up, the average time to beat Persona 5 was 93 hours. Keeping true to my word, I bought it.

This is literally the best RPG I have ever played. The characters are amazing, and their progression and development is the best I have ever seen in a game. The story is gripping, and the combat is beautiful, turn based fun. I do not regret buying this game at all.

    BUT

if you have a strong hate for anime, DO NOT BUY THIS GAME. it is so good, but it has very strong anime influences to the story (i.e. the high school kid at a new school part of the plot, etc), which I can see some people disliking. Some cut-scenes are made like a literal anime show as well. It's so much more than that, but if you hate anime, I cannot recommend, since the story is such a huge part of the game's charm.

If you love anime, or even don't mind it, give this game a try. It is very, very good.

This game if freaking amazing. Simply stunning how the little things come together to form this giant ball of creativity. The presentation of the game and the soundtrack are stunning and simply the best that I have seen in years. The battle system is great. Overall, this game is not something you want to avoid in a lifetime.

First of all is the length, normally I wouldn't complain about a game being too long, but they could of seriously cut the dialogue of this game in half. I love reading books but I don't play video games to read a novel, and unfortunately most of the time spent in P5 is used reading endless dialogue. The art direction of this game is awesome! the anime characters work really well. I didnt think the graphics of the environments were really done very well and this game is definitely a port from PS3. The music is really great until you've heard the same 3 songs over and over for the entire 120 hrs, WTF. I really enjoyed the pokemon type battle system. The boss fights were not only challenging but fun figuring out their weaknesses. I dont know if I would ever play another Persona game, but you will for sure get your monies worth with P5. Expand

Persona 5 is by far the best RPG I have played in recent memory, With an incredibly tight combat system, amazing visuals. and an interesting cast of characters all wrapped up in one of the most immersive games of 2017. Any fans of previous persona's or fans of JRPG's in general deserve to play this masterpiece of a game.

I've never played a Persona game before this. Finished this two times with 220 hours played, bought a pstv and played ps4 with other 100 hours.
The story is excellent, the combat never boring, the graphic, the UI and UX of the game is one of the best i've ever seen.

I would have reviewed 9 for the depth of character (now playing persona 4 i feel those were more deeply included in the game) but as it is the game that made me discover the franchise i put a 10 out of 10.
Buy this game, it's one of the best ever come out and you will enter a new world, you will want to play the previous games, see the movies, download wallapers and dream about it.

Persona 5 is really one of the best JRPGs because it has a very good story and a gameplay. The graphics is a very good, but I don't judge the game according to the graphics. How they say: "Don't judge a book by its cover." This also applies to games, graphics is a cover, so what's more important is story and gameplay.

Story: They used a very difficult theme for the story. In Persona 4 they show the other side of the human mind, which shows that every man has two faces, one face you represent to outside world, another face that you hold deep within yourself. In Persona 5 they go one step further and show the corruption of the human soul (heart) through seven deadly sins. Both stories perfectly describe the problem of the real world and they send a strong message, and the message is: "Humans have to change." That's why I like the story of Persona series, because they go deep into the human mind and soul. They also have well designed the characters and theirs personality.

Gameplay: While I was playing Persona 5 I could noticed that they combines and improves certain elements from Persona 3 and Persona 4. They have improved time management and battle system with a new Confidant system (formerly known as Social Links). Each Confidant system gives certain abilities which can facilitate time management and battle system. Time management can be frustrating, but it gives a challenge. I like that they improved traditional Turn-Based Battle system by adding a swapping system and the cooperative system. The biggest improvement in Persona 5 is a dungeon exploration. You can uses stealth to avoid or ambush enemies and you have to solve the puzzles to progress in dungeons. In the previous games, you just run through the dungeon until you reach the goal. Persona Fusion system also improved, now you can choose which ability you want to transfer to new persona. In Persona 3 and Persona 4, this function was random.

Conclusion: Persona 5 is a great improvement from its predecessors. It has preserved certain traditional elements of JRPGs and added some new ones. That's why this game is a one of the best JRPGs.

I never thought Persona 5 could give me so much emotion. I suffered, I cheered, I cried, I laughed (a lot). At some point, so excited about the game, I thought I could not give a 10 because he was not perfect in every detail, but soon after I realized my stupidity for associating 10 rating with the idea of perfection ... Thank you Atlus, and good luck to make a P6 as good as this.

So I'll break it down. I love anime style graphics. It is my preference in games but they must have tried really hard to make it this ugly.

Next the OST. Well if you happen to be a fan of the genre 70's porn music then this will be right up your alley. Don't think this means 70's funk because it isn't, I love 70's funk. This is just crap porno music.

The story. He's such a bad guy, watch out for that guy, let's stay clear of him, why did he have to come to this school, I heard he got arrested, ......bored yet. Well if not then great because you'll get hours of rubbish dialogue saying just that.

Gameplay - same as everything else, bland dated and boring. I don't play many menu combat games often but all other similar recent games I played such as Ara Fell and Dragon Star Varnir were more enjoyable.

The dungeons as with the entire game feel completely dated.

So why 1/10 and not 0/10. Somehow the combination of junk all seems to tie in well together. Games must feel cohesive for me to enjoy them and I can't deny it that. It feels like a team working together made this, not just individual parts winged together. The dialogue in this makes the SAO games look exciting to read. At least with SAO the game was fun between the dialogue.

    Overall this game sucks balls.

the Anima style has never been my favorite and felt that I was on a hype train when I was playing it. I still gave it a decent score since I can see the overall concept and how appealing it can be to a lot of people

Persona 5 improves the battles from the previous entries, proving just how turn based RPG's are still amazing and not "dead" (according to one JRPG company). And don't get me started on Persona 5's amazing music that kept me exited for whatever track was next. The only true flaw with the music was that there was not enough of it, as the same battle theme plays for the hundreds of hours of battles you will be doing unless you buy the DLC. I enjoyed this game so much nonetheless, and now I truly want to play video games again due to the fact that Persona 5 has truly changed my heart.
