I don’t know which QA said this was ready to go, but I have never played a buggier game than this. Ever. You can’t even play 30 minutes without it crashing. Meanwhile, there’s a battle in which you’re FORCED to play turn-based, which takes **** forever. You can never finish that battle because the game constantly crashes. So. Best of luck with this awful trash.

There are two things horribly wrong with this game. It crashes quite frequently as you progress further into the game. It seems like only the prologue was QA/tested. This is incredibly frustrating as you have to save and save often - which itself isn't a smooth process - the game pauses for an incredibly long time as the save happens. This is incredibly frustrating as you have to save and save often - which itself isn't a smooth process - the game pauses for an incredibly long time as the save happens. Second - there are a whole bunch of insignificant areas - small areas that you can roam around in, in about 10 seconds. Too many of these small areas and too few large areas - the notable exception is the Drezen battle which is great (crashes notwithstanding). Then there is Alushinrya extremely large area but glitchy, frame-rate dropping, constantly crashing and a ghastly color palette that will burn your retinas. The game does a poor job of explaining things and you will learn that half of this game has to be discovered and played by reading up on forums and such. Loading times take forever, transition between areas are jarring and slow. It's clear that the developers poured all their attention into making the game complicated to understand and play (which is not the problem) but they have done this in lieu of creating a balanced game. The fatigue/travel system is frustrating and completely unncessary. Takes the joy away from the game. I have submitted at least 200 crashes that have taken place on my PS5 but there is no patch/fix I have seen yet. Pathetic and avoid this developer at all costs. Expand

I just bought this game after it has been released for over a year on console, and it is still just a series of bugs, one after the other, which is sad because the game desperately wants to be fun, but all the bugs make it impossible to enjoy.

Clunky camera and controls. Overly complex systems. Boring encounters. Rogue is useless because you can't rotate the camera to get close for a backstab. This is not divinity, this is divinity before QA to cut down on the unnecessary stuff.

Всего-то мне понадобилась 350 часов наиграть, что бы понять как правильно строить билды, что бы не быть зависимым от кубика.

When I buy a game I expect it to run smoothly, it glitching, freezing and has bugs with animations.

New players need not apply. This game is utterly inaccessible to those who haven't played Pathfinder before. Right off the bat, it overwhelms you with unfamiliar terminology and is super confusing, especially in character creation, any kind of magic abilities, and their requirements. New players are asking all kinds of (what should be basic) questions there because the game doesn't tell you diddly crap about how most things work.

I have not had any bugs that other players are complaining about (I'm on PS4 Pro) just the extremely frustrating design. It's all very gatekept. If you don't know how something works, or what stats are required for ___ to work, what the terminology means, or what the mechanics even are, you're just screwed and helpless. I guess you could ask people on reddit for help explaining what should be an obvious thing every 5 minutes, but quite honestly, you shouldn't have to.

I thought I was going to love this game, but instead, it's an overwhelming wall of frustration that I can't make any progress in due to terrible game design specifically for new players. They got my $60 this time, but I won't make this mistake again. Avoid this game at all costs unless you have prior knowledge of how Pathfinder works.

I really want to give it an 8 or 9 for all the good parts, but the bad is VERY bad. Some other users here say the adaptation/optimization is good on PS5, personal experience tells me the very opposite:

    A) unorthodox and unintuitive UI, control and key-mapping for console game and PS controller,
    B) bafflingly LONG loading time for PS5 hardware and its SSD plus that this game loads very very frequently,
    C) starting from the midpoint of the game stability is utter trash, meaning at least one crash every hour without known reasons or triggers (unpredictable so unavoidable),
    D) lots of bugs and design flaws.

Worst of all, if you google or reddit you'll see quite a few feedback on stability and optimization (and bugs of course), even in their official thread, however after more than 9 months since the launch of the Enhanced Edition Owlcat hasn't done anything about them. (As for bugs, most of them exist since 2021.)

And I haven't even say anything about issues of its nonsensical game balance and the frustratingly wrong ways to adapt TRPG into a video game...

I adore so much of Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous, from being able to play as an undead lich, to how the story adapts to that choice like you're playing through an incredibly detailed dark fantasy book. That's why I'm almost devastated by the game's lack of polish. It's unbalanced, there's bugs that forced regular restarts, and the console UI isn't suited to managing a crusade, which isn't as interesting as kingdom management. If this is your kind of game, you're better off trying to play on PC. Otherwise, you can join me in enjoying the game despite itself, or play Kingmaker until this has had some significant patches.

A staggering amount of content makes Pathfinder: Wrath Of The Righteous an easy choice to recommend for those who have a lot of time to invest. An interesting narrative and player choices that define the outcome, this is a tale that is well worth experiencing.

Is Wrath of the Righteous a natural 20? Almost. Knowing the care that the developers invested in the previous game, I am pretty sure that the new Pathfinder will shed its initial issues and will be filed down until there are no more annoying edges, just a smooth experience. It is a dream come true for any classical RPG fans that want to be lost in an epic world, going through heroic adventures, while also exploring fulfilling side quests with quirky, yet charming companions. It has a high replay value, and you need at least two playthroughs to experience most of the content. It is a modern take on classical roleplaying that does not disappoint and manages to be newbie friendly as well.
