    Another Nioh, great boss fights. I loved the few new mechanics. I had some troubles with some axe moves missing which never happened in Nioh 1. So the combat brought some good changes but also some rare but weird bugs. Still 10/10 for me.

    More of the same excellence that was in Nioh. I love the mix between dark souls and diablo. Better level up system for skills. Character creation is excellence, maybe the best I’ve seen so far. Good amount of content for the game. Improvements to the coop system were appreciated.
    Keep up the good work Team Ninja!!! Looking forward to the dlc and to future games in the Nioh universe.

    I want to start off by saying this. if you LOVED Nioh 1 you gonna like this game. It's really good game but not perfect.
    Every review will say different thing because the experience is different if I'm not mistaken there are 9 weapons to choose some of them old and some of them are new, each weapon has bounch of builds that's why don't judge just by playing with a single weapon, I have    I want to start off by saying this. if you LOVED Nioh 1 you gonna like this game. It's really good game but not perfect.
    Every review will say different thing because the experience is different if I'm not mistaken there are 9 weapons to choose some of them old and some of them are new, each weapon has bounch of builds that's why don't judge just by playing with a single weapon, I have tried all of them I loved some I hated some so I suggest everyone to try every single weapon. And also please don't expect combat like Dark Souls or Bloodborne. Nioh has much more faster combat compared to FromSoftware games.
    Story was kind of weird but toward the end it just kept getting better and better.
    I don't want to talk about story a lot because the main product is gameplay. It's kind of similar to Nioh 1 but improved version, a lot of new combos btw your are creating combos by aquairing skills speaking of skills skill tree is huge it is good but I don't think it was necessary. HERES THE GAME CHANGER The Burst Counter, Burst Counter is just awesome it made me to memorize every single enemies move set I have to calculate the delay of burst counter when executed if I done it successfully it makes my day much more easier but if I fail. Oh boy. It can get me killed or damage me so bad overall it's a good addition.
    Maps designs are different but same only some of them felt unique.
    Loots, smithing, soul matching and ex.. are same as Nioh 1.
    Character Creation is really really good ( So much better than Dark Souls ) and you can download character that made by other players.
    Yokai soul cores are good idea that allows us to use the powers of the Yokai we've defeated even bosses, most of them are weak maybe some of them are good for end game.
    The only thing that I disliked is Yokai Shift. The concept of Yokai Shift is amazing you turn into cool looking Yokai, but you're weak as hell, most of the time I didn't even had to use Yokai Shift, in my 84 hours of playtime completed the game and the New game plus I just used the Yokai Shift 42 times. Living weapon was much more better because it made me feel like I can kill everything that is on my way but not with Yokai Shift.    … Expand

    Nioh 2? More like Nioh 1.5. Still very solid, very fun game.

    I only wished they had more enemy variety and they limited enemy types and placement in specific levels.

    A great follow up for a great game. With over 259 hours of gameplay in nioh, I can say that this sequel is definitely great and improves on the original significantly

    Great game that builds off if the previous success of the first nioh. Only two new weapons but they're both great fun. Combat is fluid as ever, a much more refined soulslike combat that is more satisfying.

    Phenomenal game. Only improved on a very solid foundation they set with Nioh 1. Character Creation, more combat depth and awesome new mechanics. If you loved Nioh 1 then this is for you. Pick it up!

    Nioh 2 es muy continuista con respecto a su predecesor, lo que da una sensación buena y mala a la vez.

    - La historia sigue siendo interesante, aunque el contar con un protagonista mudo puede quitarle peso, aunque como contrapartida, el editor de personajes es bastante bueno - En cuanto a nivel técnico es prácticamente igual a la primera entrega, con un apartado gráfico que no    Nioh 2 es muy continuista con respecto a su predecesor, lo que da una sensación buena y mala a la vez.

    - La historia sigue siendo interesante, aunque el contar con un protagonista mudo puede quitarle peso, aunque como contrapartida, el editor de personajes es bastante bueno

    - En cuanto a nivel técnico es prácticamente igual a la primera entrega, con un apartado gráfico que no desagrada pero tampoco impresiona y un modo a 60 fps que es casi indispensable para este juego.

    - Jugablemente añade varias mecánicas como la contra-Yokai que se convierte en algo vital para progresar en el juego o el Mundo Oscuro, en donde la regeneración de Ki se ralentiza y obliga al jugador a planificar mejor sus movimientos.

    Por el resto, sigue siendo fiel al primer Nioh, pulsos de ki, habilidades y progresión con armas, builds, loot, etc.
    Una vez terminado el juego se desbloquea una dificultad mayor para conseguir mejor equipo y más nivel. Pudiendo así crear la mejor build para tu estilo de juego. Hay que recordar que esta es una mecánica muy importante en el postgame de Nioh.

    - Por ultimo hablemos de la dificultad, he visto otras reviews en las que tachan al juego de "increiblemente dificil", incluso mas difícil que el primero. Lo cual no es para nada cierto.
    La dificultad en si es practicamente la misma. El problema viene cuando el jugador ignora todo lo que el juego quiere enseñarle y plantearle y únicamente juega como sabe, en otras palabras, como si jugara a Dark Souls. Y Nioh no es un Dark Souls. Ese es el problema, aunque claro, es más fácil culpar al juego que culparse a uno mismo y aprender de los errores.

    En definitiva, si te gustó Nioh, esta segunda entrega es muy similar. Si nunca has jugado, puedes probarlo si tienes la mente abierta y quieres que el juego te enseñe, si no, ni te acerques.    … Expand

    As a fan of Nioh 1, I’m really glad they haven’t reinvented the wheel here. More of the same with some better things added. The new areas are cool, the new enemies are great and frustrating and challenging all in one.     The game is very rewarding when you pull off that clutch moment counter or the perfectly timed combo.

    I really struggled early on. Be warned that you can’t just throw in a cup and be carried through by visitors. I waited for hours on some levels, trying as I may to beat a boss with no one coming in to help. This may have been because it was early after release. The ai summons are god awful and the lock on can be poor especially when there are multiple enemies on the screen. Item management can also be a bit tedious.

    None of the above matters though because Nioh 2 is a juicy looter game with hand to hand combat which is perfect for me. There’s tons of content and it’s really fun struggling solo or in a group.    … Expand

    El apartado gráfico es el mismo, la historia no es su mayor fuerte y algunos escenarios pueden ser repetitivos pero la jugabilidad, los combates contra jefes, la banda sonora el diseños de personajes    Es una excelente secuela, es mucho mas exigente que el anterior juego. No esta hecho para atraer a nuevos jugadores esta hecho para los fans del primero, aquellos que buscan un desafió mayor.
    El apartado gráfico es el mismo, la historia no es su mayor fuerte y algunos escenarios pueden ser repetitivos pero la jugabilidad, los combates contra jefes, la banda sonora el diseños de personajes asi como el de los enemigos y las nuevas mecánicas (aunque pocas) hacen de este NIOH 2 un juego imprescindible para aquellos fans del primero y los que disfrutan de juegos difíciles, no lo recomiendo a los novatos solo se frustrarían por no poder avanzar.    … Expand

    So far I ain't got nothing but love Nioh and Nioh 2. I like the new fighting mechanics, the new enemies, and that they didn't scale back on the hardness of it. Really the challenge is what makes me love the game even more. It's not a game for everyone, but if you don't at least try to get into you'll never know whether you'll love it or hate it.

    Amazing game! The bad reviews are from jealous xbots review-bombing, so don't listen to them. The gameplay is comprehensive and complex. Graphics are great. Character diversity is outstanding. Very Souls-like. Definitely challenging.

    It's unfortunate that cry baby millenials that like everything handed to them on a platter ruin the user score for this game. Game is perfect the challenges are amazing however not for snowflakes that expect every game to be cakewalk.

    I don't have a lot of time to play games, but I still love them, so I play many of them on normal difficulty. In a lot of games, I eventually end up killing all the baddies in the same way and it feels quite powerful if a game has done it right. I get the same feeling in this game, but for a different reason. You don't get to beat all the baddies in the same way.     People keep saying, 'I beat dark souls, bloodborne,' but this game is just too hard; they are lying! If you can beat any Soulsborne games you can handle this and will love it! They really took some of the best elements of many of the games and the multiplayer is quick and easy. Don't believe the reviews.     After spending a ton of time in the first game and getting to max level 750, I’m happy to say that this game is far better. The graphics, sound and gameplay including fluidity of movements is amazing and much improved. I understand what people are saying about the dark realm and how hard (unfair) if can be, you just have to be more offensive and use you Yokai skills.     This is one of the best games I've ever played... I'm not a giant dark souls fan, and haven't yet beat sekiro... But so far I'm liking this a lot... I would recommend it to anyone that enjoys a challenge, its not too hard as long as you actually spend time learning the mechanics properly.

These series are kind of underrated games if you look at their popularity but I'm sure players who really look deeper at games and who don't let fool themselves by big marketing campaigns or think that the company logo makes a game already better than the rest are going to enjoy this game a lot.

    Some people say Nioh 2 is a copy of Nioh 1, well, those people are undoubtedly judging a book by its cover, because Nioh is a game that has such a deepness and so much work you will need to play it really deeply to know how much of the game has changed and improved in this sequel (actually prequel storywise). Again, some people tend to judge this game way too quickly and that only speaks bad for them and not for the game.

    Nioh 2 does indeed have a lot of Nioh 1 inside but that's because Nioh players really liked the first part and it only serves as a foundation to release an improved game over a game that was already near perfect. And of course a lot of new things were added and some major changes took place with the inclusion of the new yokai mode, the dark realm, the possibility to play missions only with two more players, the blue revenants, two new weapons, mixing of soul cores with guardian spirits, new enemies, new bosses and of course new settings to 90% of its content.

    If you are a smart player with a minimum of intelligence and you're able to make your own opinion about things I'm sure you'll definitely enjoy this game and see further than just the book cover ;)    … Expand

It is unique where it has to be and the Japanese yokai settings is a refreshing new take.     Improves on every aspect of the original Nioh fantastically. Fast and fluid combat, very satisfying. The story and characters are hit or miss. Solid graphics and music. Overall a fun game.

    Great game, there are a lot of different builds player can try. It's really cool that you got owned by the boss at the beginning and then after 100 hours effort you can just cut them down easily.

    주인공이 간지나고 멋있다. 하지만 고스트 오브 쓰시마를 먼저 해서 그럴까.. 타격감은 고스트 오브 쓰시마보다 다소 낮다.. 고스트 오브 쓰시마가 워낙 타격감이 훌륭한 게임이란게 아쉽다.
    하지만 이 게임이 타격감이 결코 낮다는게 아니다. 다크소울3보다도 훨씬 타격감이 뛰어난 게임이다.

    I know this game is widely praised but it deserves more love and appreciation, Nioh 2 is just a perfect experience for those who seek for difficult games I think.

    Nioh 2 is simply more of Nioh. It offers more of what you liked and didn't like about the first game with only a few minor refinements. Nioh 2's biggest addition from the previous game is a character creator, which allows for players to add a welcome personal touch to their player-character -- a huge step up from the first Nioh's bland protagonist, William.

    A really great game where you can create your own character unlike the original and it's actually fun cause some parts of did really happen in history like the black samurai etc. and I happen to search Wikipedia while playing it to know more.

    A solid addition to the Nioh franchise with an eerie atmosphere, challenging gameplay, and tight controls. At times it can feel repetitious, though, with enemies being heavily reused and bosses being somewhat disengaged in their combat. A very good game!

DLC and NG pluses are a must to experience the full enjoyment.     I absolut love this game, the mechanics, the gameplay, all the different weapons e armors. With almost 150 hours of gameplay I can say that if you like souls bourne games, you will like it. It is a hard game, extra punishing sometimes, but if you master it, you will become almost a god, with the right sets e moves. I liked this one more than Sekiro

    I platted Nioh2 and love it. It's a bit of a niche game but the gameplay is so good and rewarding. The co-op works perfect and it's so fun to run around with 2 randoms. I just love it, what a game.

    Solid 8.5/10 Love this game. This game is so freaking good! Not a fan of Dark Souls but this game is kinda like Sekiro Shadows Die Twice and Dark Souls but better! No regrets on my purchase! if you into this type of games. Highly Recommend it.

    This game is more like Nioh 1.5. It seems like developers kept what worked in Nioh 1, fixed some issues like unfair bosses, introduced some new ideas like burst counter and character design. I think there are too many good ideas in both Nioh games: 2D art, 3D cutscenes, tea utensils, clan wars, reputation titles, a rich variety of weapons, complex upgrade trees for every weapon type,This game is more like Nioh 1.5. It seems like developers kept what worked in Nioh 1, fixed some issues like unfair bosses, introduced some new ideas like burst counter and character design. I think there are too many good ideas in both Nioh games: 2D art, 3D cutscenes, tea utensils, clan wars, reputation titles, a rich variety of weapons, complex upgrade trees for every weapon type, different stances, kodama locations and lots more... This is a very deep and complex game. I wish it was a bit less simple game like Sekiro because adding too many good ideas doesn't always add up to a perfect game. Another issue with this game is graphic resolution (I played it in Pro). I understand that they didn't want to sacrifice from frame rates but the resolution is like at least 5 years behind the competition. Other than if you are fan of Souls games or liked Nioh 1 you will certainly love this game. In some compartments Nioh games are even better than Souls games and Nioh 2 is the best Nioh game.… Expand

The Combat is so fun and you have 100 of mechanics and nearly infinity Content. You can grind if you want to minmax fast, but you dont need it.     Man, did this game kick my behind like crazy. But it was such a fun experience that I never wanted to give up. I also love of you can customize your character this time. Though it does feel mostly the same as the first, it's still just as good. Also, there are cats that you can pet. So I was sold!

    I liked the combat, a good evolution of powers and very challenging (I was angry sometimes kk).
    Cool story, with several elements of Japanese history and mythology, which I like a lot!
    The problem with the game are some repetitive stages and frustrating mechanisms and cameras.

    The game is honestly an improvement from the first one with the creation of your character, the amount of weapons, combos etc also the coop is amazing as you can play the whole game with 3 players while collecting every item and have the same progress.

    Great game solid as much as the first one. I prefer this series to all dark souls clones and even dark souls. Nioh is so smooth, faster paced and multiple combat moves / weapons makes it the best souls type game out their, in my opinion.

    The second Nioh is more than just a continuation of the legacy. The authors have been able to learn from the mistakes of the first game, and thanks to that this is an excellent action RPG that will not let you rest and you will want to keep playing. [Issue#303]

    I love a great third-person actioner, and I’m hard-pressed to think of one that nails the formula as perfectly as Nioh 2 does. The systems are pleasantly crunchy and there are a ton to dig into, the moment-to-moment fights get my blood pumping, and the artwork and theming are all spot-on. Too much of a good thing is too much of a good thing, but Nioh 2 is exactly the right amount.

    Nioh 2 does what a good sequel should. It capitalizes on the best parts of its predecessors while providing new content and mechanics to advance the franchise. While the story structure and level design are largely the same, added weapons, more build depth, and new combat mechanics all enhance what the game has to offer. It doesn't always hit the mark perfectly, but it's a solid addition to the series. And let's face it, being a samurai is awesome.
