    This is simply one of the greatest games I have ever played. It delivers such a captivating and masterful story through devices I had not yet seen from this medium. The story, the characters, the world, and the SOUNDTRACK deliver an unforgettable experience that will stay with you for long beyond the credits rolling.

    After playing Persona 5, I was looking for another JRPG that would deliver such an amazing experience, so I decided to play NieR: Automata.
    First of all, the story of this game is divided to 3 Routes (playthroughs). Route A is only the first half of the story, Route B is the same plot from different prespective but it's a bit deeper and it has additional gameplay mechanics, and Route C/D    After playing Persona 5, I was looking for another JRPG that would deliver such an amazing experience, so I decided to play NieR: Automata.
    First of all, the story of this game is divided to 3 Routes (playthroughs). Route A is only the first half of the story, Route B is the same plot from different prespective but it's a bit deeper and it has additional gameplay mechanics, and Route C/D is the second half of the story. The first 2 Routes are great, but story-wise they're incomplete, however, Route C/D is were NieR: Automata's magnificent narrative potential truly shines! Thanks to NieR: Automata's absolute masterclass of a game design, the story is unparalleled! It blew my mind and it exceeded my expectations a lot of times!
    Overall, NieR: Automata's narrative is one the best I've witnessed in any videogame.
    The gameplay is awesome too! It plays mainly like a 3D Hack 'n' Slash but there are Shoot em Up, 2D and Bullet Hell sequences as well. That's straight up impressive.
    The hacking mechanics make the gameplay a bit boring at times though.
    The characters - particularly the main characters - are engaging and well-developed.
    The music is absolutely phenomenal! It's one of the best parts of the game!
    Lastly, the bosses are decent, the audio design is great and the animations are gorgeous.
    NieR: Automata isn't flawless though; the visuals are slightly outdated and the side-quests are mostly dull.

    I could go on forever about how great nier really is it's absolutely one of the best games ever made the music,story and characters are all incredibly designed and written this really is a special game and an absolute masterpiece up there with the likes of The ocarina of time or God of war imo truly a game I'll never forget and as close to a ten a game can get.

    A truly one of a kind experience.
    The story, music, gameplay, world building and characters are all amazing and of top-notch quality. You can't help but be immersed in the game world and its lore. Yoko Taro's unorthodox storytelling also adds to the mystique of this game; it is truly something that you must play to fully understand.

    Weirdly beautiful game. The story is kinda depressing (Yes it's Yoko Taro's story), but it is harmonized with amazing soundtrack and beautifully designed world. Gameplay is also great and well-balanced.

    My favorite game of all time. Its deep story, world and characters makes you feel a constant melancholy that simply no other game offers. No other game has ever left this big of an impact on me and I would recommend this to anyone who enjoys a meaningful and unforgettable experience!

I have played A LOT of videogames on several different platforms throughout my 31 years of living. To me, NieR:Automata is the best game ever made.     A really good game that surprised me a lot, especially towards the end! The combat system is really fun and the story is really gripping. The only thing that I have to complain about is the loot system. Nier Replicant will definitely be bought!

    I finished this game in 2017 and today six years later, I still haven't found a game like it that made me feel the same way towards a game. Nier will always have a special place in my heart. Not to mention it has a great story, music, and gameplay.     I beat the game a few days ago, and I'm not sure what score to give it yet. It feels like a lot to process. At the start of the game, it feels like what's going to be an awesome and fun open world to explore. The music, combat, and characters were and are still great. But to say the least, things take a turn after playing the 2nd ending.

    It becomes more than just a videogame. Things get real bad, real fast. Everything you are attached to (and in my case, very attached) is either tainted or destroyed. 2B getting infected was sad, but I can't remember anything in a videogame that made me feel more pain than the whole thing with pascal.

    Personally, I got ending D first. The reason for this is because while I knew picking A2 was the better option, I let my attachment to 9S control the decision after the game said "are you sure". I told myself I would just go back and get the other one after I saw what happened, which I did. After picking A2, I'm not even sure if I can call ending E happy. It's probably the best I could get, but the story still hurts.

    As I said I don't even know how I feel about it on an emotional level. Was the experience good? Am I glad I played it? I don't know. I will say that the game is very well put together and definitely did it's job. The only criticism I have is that the PC port isn't good and you need to replay the first ending as 9S, but maybe I made a mistake in skipping out on the side quests.

    Nier Automata is one of the greatest games I have ever played so far. I know I am 17 but I guess there wont be another game beeing as grade as automata. It has a deep story with the big questions in life. It also has funny moments and a great world to expllore. In my opinion it is the best rpg ever.

    Once you finish the first playthrough, you'll need to load from your save data to play the second playthrough and then the third playthrough to experience the whole game, and the payoff is definitely worth it!

    The gameplay mechanics are incredible too, it constantly switches genres on-the-go, and it's full of surprises. My only complain is the hacking minigame, but other than that everything else is Top Tier.

    Last but not least, the music is absolutely phenomenal, one of the best soundtracks ever, absolutely perfect for the game.

    This game is an unforgettable masterpiece, a true gem within the videogame industry that sticks with you forever.

    What comes off as an intimidating game at the start, easily becomes one where you are completely involved in.

    This is truly a masterpiece in terms of: Story telling, art, music, scenery, character development, and ending.

    It is a must play for the PS4 and PS5.

    This is the best game i've ever played in ps4. Too sexist for me, that's true. It is imposible to avoid the misogynist brain that created it. Its 21st century guys, just in case you didnt get it yet. Even though it's retrograded, it is still an incredible game. From the trolled beginning to the multiple endings.

    A masterpiece. For those with the patience to stick around until the very end, you'll be rewarded with the most complex, emotional tale I've ever seen delivered in a video game. Fantastic characters, very thought provoking themes and a genuinely unforgettable experience. I have been thinking about this game nonstop since I've finished it. It's actual art, I don't know what else to say.

    I'm yet to contemplate on why people tend to give bad review on videogames story that they didn't understand, nor even finished.

    Quite frankly, I'm still surprised people even consider putting this kind of argument in NieR: Automata reviews, as this game has its story unfolding right off the bat, throwing players immediately into their first mission.
    Without spoilers, NieR:Automata story revolves around the question that both philosophers, although more sophisticated, and more down to earth folk think about - soul, consciousness, and possibility of both forming in inanimate objects, like androids, machines. It is question that player, through character, at some point will naturally start asking themselves throughout the course of the game. If you feel like you're not fit to answer such abstract questions, do not fret, because there are protagonists that are programmed to 'think' they're not fit to do either, and going through their story ultimately let you find the answer... the answer that director, Yoko Taro, thought would make a touching story.
    I think the best part of both games in NieR series, are characters. I never thought I could be attached to videogame character in my life. In fact, before NieR I've never been attached to any protagonist of any videogame that i played. Whatever i felt during my playthrough was completely new feeling that i experienced.
    Main point of NieR series is answering existential questions and feeling of compassion towards not only friendly characters, but also the ones we face.
    Sadness also plays big role as, obviously, it's probably the best emotion to fill art with meaning and to put people in position to reflect on later. I think that's exactly what art is for, and NieR:Automata does it remarkably.    … Expand

    This game is a masterpiece. Yoko Taro x Platinum Games is a match made in heaven. The combat is incredible, the story, the themes, all amazing. I really can't think about one bad thing to say about this game. I loved it.

    I wouldn't say the best story telling amongst all the games outside but it was the one and only game I wanted to achieve platinum trophy on PS4. It weighs heavy on my heart for quite a long time even after clearing it. The only game I wished that has a sequel and thanks Platinum Games for making the combat system.

    Yeah I have no real complaints with it. The soundtrack is absolutely beautiful even though most of it is in a made up language. The gameplay is fun, the characters are great, the story is great (never beat all of them, but knowing they're there is awesome). Plus 2B is waifu, what's not to love. But fr this game is something special.

    Assim os humanos criam a unidade de androides de elite YoRHA que será seus soldados e última esperança nessa guerra perdida, no jogo acompanhamos a história da androide de batalha 2B e do androide sentinela 9S que além de lutar se confrontarão com esse mundo incrível e bucólico enquanto questionam sua missão e também sua própria existência.

    Tecnicamente o jogo possui mecânica de combate Hack and Slash, RPG e de Shoot’em up, alternando essas mecânicas conforme o jogo e a história, na parte do design, arte e ambientação o jogo brilha e mostra algo único e belo que é complementado por uma OST de cair lágrimas (já chorei algumas vezes ouvindo as músicas).

    Gostaria de escrever tudo que esse jogo representa, mas com mais de 30 horas de duração, 26 finais, uma quantidade imensa de personagens importantes e profundos e uma história filosófica e catártica fica difícil escrever sobre.

    Posso finalizar que quando algo sai de sua mídia e toca seus sentimentos, sua alma, seus valores e principalmente sua empatia, aquilo pode ser chamado de arte e Nier Automata é de fato uma grande obra de arte.

    - route B is a repeat of route A from a different perspective and does not offer enough variation for me to be completely ok with it (though I still find it fantastic)

    Nier Automata is my favorite game of all time. With that comes a heavy amount of bias from but I genuinely believe that this is gaming's finest art piece that manages to be fun. Nier is a slow burn of a story that grips you and leaves you empty and unsure of what to do with yourself after you have experienced it.

    To get the cons out of the way, route B aka the second playthrough of the game is a repeat of the entire route A with slight variations to keep it interesting. There is no avoiding the fact that you are going to be retreading the same main story points through the same areas and hearing the same dialog. The added perspective of the second character you are playing is what saves that for me and I still ended up loving it even though I understand that there are a lot of people that will be discouraged by this, which is fine.

    The Drakengard/Nier franchise was always unafraid to be weird and depressing, but I feel like it always served to its benefit. Automata is no different in this regard. The story is beautifully tragic leading to standout character moments that allow for the cast to shine in their unique ways.

    These fantastic moments are then accompanied by some of the most perfectly fitting music ever made. There is never a moment where the soundtrack dips in quality or breaks a scene. The fact that Rays of Light, a song playing throughout the central area of the game, never gets annoying is a testimony to the simple beauty of this OST.

    And then comes the ending. Nier pulls off a miracle with its ending, rarely seen in the media. There are 1000 ways to do what Automata did with its ending and 999 of them are stupid, cringeworthy and come the f on. Automata somehow manages to pull out the 1 way where it lands its themes so spectacularly that I consider this the best ending in games, movies and books.

    I adore Automata and encourage anybody who is interested in this 2017 masterpiece to give it a try. You will be doing yourself a favor by playing it.    … Expand

    One of the easiest 10s you can give to a game imo. The brilliant writing of Yoko Taro mixed with Platinum Games combat and an absolute killer soundtrack.

    There is really nothing this game does bad and it is such a unique gaming experience if you aren't familiar with Yoko Taros other games I'd recommend everyone to pick it up.

    As a Nier fan, I was in doubt. The first playthrough is a little lackluster, though what follows is an extremely thought provoking and interesting piece. The creator wants you to know that existence is tangible and fraught, and the story bends at its knees to get the player to feel this anguish. It succeeds.

    There are a few bugs here and there, mostly related to the frame rate. But still, this surpasses all of this generations games in terms of story and curiosity. My only personal bug is the possibility to "buy" trophies post game. Maybe the developers were taking the piss out of the current love for trophies / achievements, or making a dig at our own reasons for existence. Either way it took some of the joy out of the end game for me, since I enjoy that end game grind that i both love and hat with JRPGs    … Expand

    I miss out this game in 2017, manage to pick it up during sales. And i have never regret playing it. The design, theme, music and storytelling is fantastic. Only less interesting part is the part where you go through the story as 9S which can feel repetitive.

    Admittedly only did the one play through but it was pretty decent, especially the boss fights and stuff where you're constantly switching between different genres (top down shooter, side scrolling, 3rd person, etc).
    Open world felt maybe a bit boring though. Would give an 8 but since apparently it gets better after the first play through, I'll give it a 9

    There are minor technical problems, but still this game is amazing. Only Platinum can merge 2D platforming and 2D shooter in to a 3rd person action-rpg and it´s great.

    No autosaves. The first hour of this game has no checkpoints whatsoever so if you die at at any point you go all the way back to the beginning. This is the only part of the game that's like this however. It turns into an open world game with save stations around the place and some bosses have good checkpoints.     Enemy design.
    It's pretty basic if you've played a platinum game before you'll fight hoards of enemies throughout this game and they only have a couple of different attacks, but it's still better then dynasty warriors. The bosses get reused a lot as well and some are straight up boring to fight. You can't even get close to them to attack in melee so you're forced to use the gun which you can't aim because there's no lock on hard and above.

    Wanted to play this like Bayonetta in a 2nd playthrough.
    There is an overclock chip in this game which gives you slow down on your perfect evades, but it doesn't give you iframes. In other words you just die and have to continue boring yourself to death only attacking enemies with the pod. This chip completely worthless.

    Obviously I was able to live with these problems and thoroughly enjoyed this game. You will too.    … Expand

    It's criminal that this game is rated below a 9, and I can only guess that's because its visual quality isn't on par with the aforementioned Horizon Zero dawn. Because the quality throughout every other aspect of the game sets an extremely high bar. I've told people this probably has one of the best, if not the best original sound tracks of any game I've ever played. And while I know that might sound a little over the top, I think it might be true. i've found myself going back to certain locations in the game, just to hear the local music play.

    What I think I like most about this game though; it feels unique. The game play is rich and interesting and and the story does a great job of making you feel for the characters while not making you watch a ton of really long drawn out cutscenes. The voice acting is top notch as well. The little comments the characters 2b and 9s share with each other, while not long winded, are poignant and effective. And the sub-quests are thought provoking and interesting, while not distracting from the main overarching theme of the game.

The overwhelmingly positive reviews I'd read, convinced me to give the game another chance and complete the "A,B,C and D routes", AKA the different endings or play-throughs of the game. And that's when I finally realized how fantastically unique the story really is. I can't believe I initially wrote it off as cliché and half-assed. Despite it's many flaws and shortcomings, Nier: Automata is easily one of the most original games I've ever played, and it's also one of the best games I've played in recent time. It's just a shame that the game forces you to play through it twice, under almost identical circumstances, before it offers the content that drastically changes the overall quality of the game, and more than compensates for the poor impression (most people) will be left with after completing the initial play-through. It's also worth mentioning that the battle system allows for quite a lot more intuitive and advanced moves than simple button-mashing, but the majority of consumers will probably button-mash anyway. Said techniques require a lot of timing and coordination, and there aren't any in-game tutorials for advanced techniques, after all - which is strange.    … Expand

    Besides from it's diverse mechanics and styles of gameplay, the visuals play a vital role. Being absolutely stunning to the point of realism upon closer inspection, especially when it comes to it's character models. Square Enix have this unique ability to bring to life light and water effects upon characters, as seen in FFXV and SO5, as well as make clothing look weighted, and work as physically intend with movement, gravity and added weight with the inclusion of dirt and moisture. Though most of that can only be seen on 2B, it's still a minute detail that exemplifies Platinum Games' efforts with regards to Nier: Automata.

    The soundtrack to this title itself is a standalone masterpiece, fitting perfectly with the emotion and narrative of the game and helps shape the atmosphere wonderfully. Always 'kicking' in when you least expect it and with it always being the icing on a very wonderfully crafted cake. So much so it's entirely memorable and itself is another key reason that this game will someday be remembered as a classic.

    Now, story wise... this game is unique in the sense as it tells the story of an epic whilst using a variety of narrative styles that slowly unfold the game through the main story. The side quests, as well as hidden items and lore, expand upon the solid foundation to create a more wholesome world and breath life into characters. I found myself towards the end of the game remembering earlier side quests, and noting how they tied into the main themes of the game by the time I reached the ending, realizing how even some of the side quests had minor plot twists. Subliminally spilling the beans early on for you to only find out at the end... and ultimately realize what you've overlooked, and that's the true impact of the story. This always works due to the various playthroughs and narrative points of characters. Especially as there are instances where you (re)play the same part of the game, but in a different area or just from another character's perspective.

    Now, for some down points to the game. I found that the world just wasn't big enough. And that a lot of the sidequests were barbarically uninspired and dull, though there were some easily amazing side quests that I won't be forgetting any time soon. That being said, I spent 20hrs+ of my 50 running around like a headless chicken - although a lot of the running around can be "sped up" through certain mechanics later in the game - it doesn't devoid the sense that with majority of the side quests being boring and/or pointless, they were trying to make use of a small map by adding in a lot of fluff. Too much, unfortunately. And I found this game doesn't have the replayability necessary to allow so much fluff, as well such a short map. Granted, there's plenty of content - just on finding items, enemy types, weapons, pods and programmes, etc. But even at the end game there wasn't anything to do except a bunch of menial side quests and 2 secret bosses. The second being overly difficult and unrewarding (no in-game reward, or secret item/weapon, barely any expanse upon the lore). Another issue was the hacking mechanic was used too much, that a small segment of the game utilized the hacking mechanic and was plainly difficult. Mainly because it was seemingly uninspired, as well as the fact I'm objectively bad at bullet hell games, as well as subjectively hating them. And that hacking "breaks" the game, even allowing you to insta-kill the 3rd most difficult enemy in the game, and make light work of the last 2 with ease.

    Besides some crashing/stuttering issues on PS4, this game mostly ran perfectly. Only stuttering when trying to load large areas, though being fine with mass amounts of enemies and noise on-screen. Ultimately this game has etched itself on my emotions, scaring my fragile heart so as to never forget it. And overlooking some of it's flaws, as they're not game-breaking (maybe the hacking, let's be real), and that this game really is a modern classic that all should play, and that all should remember.    … Expand

    Story, it's long winded and has 4 ending so you have to play through the game at least 3 times, once you beat it the 3rd time it unlocks chapter select so the 4th ending is just do the fight.
    So the story is humanity has gone extinct androids are the new people fighting for humanity who they believe is still alive and they are fighting machines who came on alien ships, so basically its androids vs. robots.
    You start as 2B who like a soldier android who are programed to fight robots her story line is pretty straight forward kill robots save humanity all the way up until the ending which then their is a twist, and it's not 'she turns on her people' she does have another purpose to exist.
    After that play through you start over but now you play as 9S who is like a scout. he observes the enemy and hacks machines. In this play through you fight like 2B and hack items, but the ending in this 1 changes.
    Now you're on the 3rd play through it's a split play, you play as 9S and A2. A2 is a rogue android you find in your earlier play through 's. The story on this play through is it's a little after the 2nd play though and 9S just wants to kill all machines while A2 starts that way but then changes once she finds a village of nice machines she changes her mind and just wants to kill some.

    Gameplay, it's a hack n slash, leveling, bullet hell, 3rd person, side/overhead scroller. and shooter.
    The main gameplay is shooter and hack n slash, it does have a hacking mini game throughout it but that's really only when your 9S.
    leveling makes you a little stronger but what really boosts your ability to kill is plug-in chips.

    The game is amazing storytelling and awesome RPG elements put together swift responsive controls. It's a treat to watch all the spectacle going on the screen. Beautiful combat mechanics, fluid AF!
    All in all, this game should not be missed at all!!

This is A-Team Platinum for sure with lots of polish and well tuned controls. The saving system took getting used to and I do wish it had auto saves.     Nier A has decent graphics (not mind-blowing, but I imagine its core engine has been in development for some 'pre-pro' time) and truly excellent music (the most under-rated and least-commented-upon aspect of games, despite its importance). The almost postmodern mix of genres and 'fourth-wall-breaking' elements tells you this is a game that can operate on several levels (i delighted in the shoot-em-up and 2D scrolling sections, but that may be my age - and nostalgia).

    Underpinning the game is an astonishingly complex and morally-questioning story (I don't understand those who say it is bland or by the numbers - it poses some very challenging philosophical questions, but I appreciate these may be missed by those who assume it is a 'kill the robot enemies' game). Much will depend on how you react to the climax of the first level 'proper' (no spoilers, but that will tell you whether this is your kind of game or whether you are better off with COD). The muitiple play-throughs are a clever twist on 'alternative perspective' or 'alternative storyline' films and books. It takes until the third (or more) play-through to really get this game (30-40 hours or so in, and it hits you).

    As for 'hack and slash': yes, on easy (or maybe even normal, if you are a seasoned gamer) it can be pretty simplistic; but, on hard, you have to change your approach, and learn the complex combat mechanics and manage the RPG elements (which are not necessarily explained). I liken this to Witcher 3: play on easy, and you don't really have to worry about anything; play on the harder levels, and potions and preparations become paramount; or Uncharted: play on easy, and walk though every fight; play on hard or crushing, and battles become tactical stand-offs. But this is why games have difficulty levels!

    I do agree in respect of the design-choice error in terms of the prologue (no save points for 30-40 minutes) and the invisible walls - which is why I arrived at 9/10.

    But over 1 million copies sold (in the midst of a mass of triple-A releases), a critic score of almost 9, and a user score of almost 9, probably tells you something.

    It might not be for you, but that does not necessarily justify 0/10 or 1/10 for a game that clearly has considerable technical merit and is trying to be more than your standard game.

    I'd say try it (and, most importantly, give it time - in pop music terms it's 'a grower')    … Expand

    The hidden gem of 2017 is right here. The game no one unfortunately will play but should. This is one of the most engrossing stories I have played in a while. The soundtrack is incredible and each character is very unique. The game is surprisingly short for an RPG which I was fine with, but make sure to get all those endings.

    Platinum's best game by far. The story explores heavy themes with grace and nuance. The combat could stand to be a little more challenging, especially towards the end game. 9S's story route was somewhat of a drag to play, and A2's story in comparison was much too short for how fun it was.

There is also Very Hard, which is set up so everything 1 shots you, but a lot of things 1 shot you on Hard too while the same hit from the same boss/mob on Normal will do barely 10-20% of your HP. I love difficult games, but I don't enjoy to get 1 shot especially when the punishment for death is so high. If I enjoyed gameplay where I got 1 shot I would of selected Very Hard. I wanted Hard difficulty without the possibility of getting 1 shot. I found Normal far too easy. I feel like Very Hard should be Hardcore, Hard should be Very Hard, and there should be another difficulty between Normal and Hard. Lastly it certainly suffers from a bit of open world syndrome in the form of tedious side quests. Having to trek back through previous areas and the like is simply not fun. When this game did quests right they are awesome, but you can't deny the filler quests that exist.
    Other than those problems the game is amazing. Variety of gameplay types switching quickly between them, fluid combat with satisfying mechanics, a story that's interesting from start to end and as I mentioned, absolutely incredible music.    … Expand

    This game is one of the many best RPG's i have played this year. The combat flows really well and the control is amazing, add on an open world and you got a RPG to be remembered. I also loved how the self destruction setting makes you feel like you are a machine that will do anything to succeed a mission even if it means death.

    Nier Automata is great, and attempts something different in JRPGs that we haven't seen in a long time. With stylish graphics, some intricate skill mechanisms, and a dark and compelling story - Nier is a front runner for best game in early 2017.

    There are lots of things to do. Almost too much, and that's my only problem with the game and why I can't give it a 10/10 (I would give it a 9,5, but Metacritic doesn't allow "half points").

    There are times you are given so much sidequests that the "main quests" are lost among them. Many sidequests are fun to do, and others help you to better understand the characters via exclusive dialogs and scenes. The problem, is that rewards are often very poor and that does not encourage you to do the sidequests.

    Other problem is that past a point in the game, you can't do them, until you've finished the game (where you can travel to any chapter in the game and do whatever you please to 100% it).

    Is it good? YES! But honestly this is it. There is no other DLC or Expansions coming out. Once you beat the game you can run for the other endings and that's about it. It is really fun the combat is nice and quick a lot of free flow . The story is amazing and satisfying. For all the pervs L3+R3 enjoy

    It seems that Platinum Games once again convinced me to pay attention to one of their games.
    I just did not imagine he would have any supposed connection to the first Nier and Drakengard. The game is beautiful, although it sacrifices some graphic details to have a better fluidity and performance. (Ps4) Graphics-8.0 Soundtrack-9.0 History-8.0 Gameplay-10.0 A game    Cool game!

    I have beaten the game once and that opens New game+, witch seems pretty neat. No major spoilers but it's nothing like it's in dark souls, etc... World is semi open world, not very explore friendly, mostly world in ruins. But story and characters are interesting.

    I noticed some performance issues with regular PS4, nothing game breaking, because fighting seems smooth.     NieR Automata: Beyond Gods Edition was a total shock to me with how much I enjoyed it. It takes a very solid experience for me to enjoy an RPG lately and NieR grabbed me quite well from the beginning and kept me entertained throughout. It's the type of game where I want to do everything that I possibly can just to make the experience longer - a type of game I rarely find nowadays. I went into NieR Autamata with no expectations other than the good gameplay that I usually find from Platinum Games, I went away floored with a near perfect action game.

    NieR: Automata is not for everybody. In fact, the game looks to be aimed at the most refined fans of the medium by not caring about the regular gaming conventions, in the same way the works of David Lynch are perfect for the hardcore moviegoers.
