First off, this isn't Gundam VS. And surprisingly that's not a bad thing. The giant mechs feel like ACTUAL giant mechs and it feels very authentic, especially in space.

Being the pilot leaves much to be desired, not gonna lie. But its still fun since you barely have to spend anytime as a pilot and when you do it's essential (I.E Repairing MS, Hijacking another MS, etc). Overall, the

Overall, the combat has a pretty wide variety of weapons, melee and ranged, as well as MS', skills and actual tactics to secure a feeling of pride when they are all used correctly together for a well deserved victory,

Oh and it's F2P, so there's that. Another reason to grab a friend and dive right in...to training, because if you don't, well, you're pretty screwed. Enjoy!

Some can dodge roll, some have more nimble boosting or longer melee combos. Some can do nutty **** like Blue Desinty's EXAM mode, giving a temporary boost to all stats at the cost of basically crippling you when it ends. Combat in this game is much slower than something like the VS series, but personally I consider that a plus, combat feels about as realistic as giant mechs fighting with light sabers can get. Also there's pilot mechanics outside of your MS, you have a jet pack, you capture bases and plant bombs, and you can straight up HIJACK ENEMY MS. It's mad hype.

Graphics are not amazing, particularly the environments and pilot models, but the suits themselves actually look really good and that's what really matters. After a bit of progression you also unlock the ability to paint your mobile suit which can make them look even better and if THAT doesn't make you wanna build a gunpla...

The 2nd biggest issue I have with the game is making parties, it often takes multiple invites to form a party and the issue is pretty consistent. I'll come back and update this if I notice an improvement.

That's all for the real review, below is a rant/explanation about the progression system. tl;dr: I took off
1 point for it and it kinda sucks.

The BIGGEST issue with this game, is it's F2P economy. Yes, it's free, and for a free game it's great I'd rather just pay 60 bucks upfront for better progression. If you save up your coins and wait for the 3 step supply drop you can get a massive payoff but we're talking about like 20 days worth of daily grinding. Daily missions are fairly easy though and usually I finish mine in 2-4 battles.

There's also a standard free currency with which you can buy things outright but the rate that you get DP outside of quests and dailies is very poor. The loot boxes also have MS that you can't buy with free currency, though apparently they eventually get added.

Lastly you can get tickets that you redeem directly from the ticket shop. you get tickets from getting duplicates in loot boxes, and the ticket shop has a daily rotating stock that always has a few things you can't buy in the DP shop. Generally, you don't want to spend your tickets on something you can buy with DP(free currency).

The only upside to all this bs is that it keeps people playing everyday for the rewards. but the rewards are so bad that I feel like I actually play less everyday than I would if I could continue progressing without dailies. -1 point.

Not sure why this game is mixed. It's a free to play Mobile Suit game with a decent reward curve.

If you like mobile suits and the hate overly Arcade style gimmicks other gundam games offers - give this game a try.

The game is excellent imo. Long time gundam fan. It has a learning curve to it, but I find the battles intense and really fun. It's different then other gacha games and you actually earn the in game currency pretty easily.

Game is fun, but has a learning curve. I've heard people use the terms "clunky" to describe controls, but you're piloting massive, 18m tall robots, and it shows. They tried to really give you a sense of scale with the more realistic movements.
Never really had a problem with penalties or anything as my net never randomly drops out.

The roster in this game is downright impressive, with new suits added weekly. I'd definitely be recommend it to any Gundam fan.

I have been playing the Japanese Release since launch so a bit different than most new players. But I noticed I am definitely not alone. This should hold me over until Mechwarrior 5. The daily missions are not too hard to complete and even the non premium currency gets you suits and upgrades. The map variety is slowly growing even since the Japanese Launch. Tons of suits and weapons that are canon. There is something for everyone and the controls are intuitive once you realize how they work. There is a lot going on so you have get used to them but they make sense once you get the swing of Suit and humanoid combat Expand

Coming July 25th I’ve been with this game for 2yrs and it is hard to keep down. I feel it’s hard to get into if not in mecha/robot genre or a fan of series, and even if a fan it can be disappointing for those seeking certain content/suits. Content flow is moderate, still free to play, is not pay to win, and the meta isn’t what a majority quite like being the main reason many have left for.Coming July 25th I’ve been with this game for 2yrs and it is hard to keep down. Content flow is moderate, still free to play, is not pay to win, and the meta isn’t what a majority quite like being the main reason many have left for. Graphics are nice but debris and smoke effects do ruin it sometimes. Sound effects are amazing, they’re true to the series which a lot of the content is thanks to the dedicated dev team and diehard fans of the series. Firing beam rifles and sniper rifles has the most impact with their powerful sound effects that the fans all admired growing up with. Yeah, it seems like a slow paced game by watching, but the moment you get in actual battle it is stressful and entertaining all at the same time. The moment you gain enough knowledge of the fundamentals you’ll feel like you can challenge the world and feels like you’re actually piloting a suit. Those faster-paced titles you don’t get that experienced, in fact those are usually More stressful than this.

The longevity of the game constantly feels like it’s up in the air, like it can end any time. This game has fighting mechanics like in arcade games, could hit esports (again), it’s tactical where you utilize both suit and pilot, much cooperation is needed for higher tier play so there’s plenty of competitiveness for those seeking a challenge and content to unlock for those just collecting or casual. Like I said earlier the only negative things about this game that is unappealing to most that had quit or looked away from this game are the meta (in rating especially), moderate pace of new suits, suits players seeking but aren’t in (or never will be), lack of communication from devs/support and gameplay being at a slower pace. Also, this game doubles in fun-value with friends in party chat. Some very interesting moments.. lol

This is my first Gundam game that I play.
Here are my 2 most Positives & Negatives I see in this game:
    + Whole new experience
+ Good animation (Not so smooth though)
    - Language option
    - Finding hard to upgrade

If you ask me, would I like to proceed further (Yes/No): I choose, May be! :)

I want to like Battle Operation 2, I really do. I like the flow of matches, the gameplay is great, and I adore the large roster of mobile suits. However, every system surrounding that solid foundation seems to undermine it at every step. Maybe future updates can salvage Battle Operation 2's myriad problems. But, they've all these issues have probably been present since the game launched in Japan over a year ago; that doesn't bode well for anything getting fixed. As is, the state of Mobile Suit Gundam: Battle Operation 2 is inexcusable, especially for a sequel.

As clunky as it is, Gundam Battle Operation 2 is the most realistic and faithful adaptation of Mobile Suit combat.
