I've never played last series of the show before, also i'm not a big baseball fan. but I can tell you this, so addictive and fun. I bet you will love this game, even if you have no interest in baseball like me. I can't stop playing the show 15!

The Show is an amazing game!! Very realistic to actual baseball. The dynamic difficulty is great and the graphics are superb! Not to mention the gameplay is great as well! Go Cards!!!!

Easily the greatest baseball game I've ever played. It's incredibly realistic and the games feel and play out like you'd expect in real baseball. Definitely worth picking up.

Since '08, The Show has been the best (now only) baseball sim on the console market. Each year there are subtle tweaks that edge it closer to perfection. The player models, however, are beginning to show their age. Give or take a few framerate hiccups, this game in motion is something to behold. Unless you're still clinging to a modded MVP 2005 or High Heat, this is the way to go for baseball.

Featuring a bunch of improvements over last year, with the much anticipated licensed gear, it's definitely worth the price of admission. Graphics and lighting has gone up a notch, and animations are more lifelike. I've played several games online and in diamond dynasty with absolutely no lag, maybe a hiccup during camera cuts but not any during gameplay.

If you like baseball, this game is a must. If you don't, you should still consider this great sports sim. Varied umpire calls, dirt that kicks up along with grass from a ground ball, to the hot dog guy screaming "hot dogs!".. This game is the real deal

Another fantastic rendition of MLB. The game is finally beginning to look like a next gen title with updated graphics, physics etc. The loading times are VASTLY improved which makes a huge difference if you play RTTS. There are still legacy issues like no closed dome options, sloppy uniform details etc but if you love baseball you can go no wrong with this.

For next year though I'd like to see, closed/retractable roofs. Much better uniforms like vests, correct material textures, correct logo scaling and just pay attention to the details more (twins missing stripe, wrong A's road batting helmet, white stripes missing from road jays uniform all need fixed just to name a few)

I guess putting Manchester United in the game would've been an unfair advantage against the other teams. In Summation, I get a tingly feeling in my clavicle when I get a hit, so 9/10. Load times improved 2-3x, online play less laggy, fielding is more spot-on and results in less of the haphazard over-running the ball. Camera angle after you hit a ball is fun and more immersive.

Commentary is very much the same as last year. Most of the animations - the HR trots, pre-game introductions, high-fives after HRs - are the EXACT SAME as last year and even years prior.

Certainly a fun game, but little more than a roster update with a patch that improves lighting and fielding.

Great baseball game for sure, but I can't offer much in response when people ask if they should purchase this if they have last year's and don't care about the roster upgrade.

I guess my response is... they took a year making this and are taking advantage of PS4's power for the first time, and this is all they could come up with? meh. I wish sports games would attempt to change things up a bit. Madden and The Show have looked and played the exact same for the past few years despite the next-gen being here.

Overall a good game of baseball again, but like the Madden series before it, exclusivity has really killed off innovation with the Show. Toward the beginning of last gen (PS3), I bought the Show on a yearly basis and was impressed. My enthusiasm began to wane toward the end of last gen, and I began buying every other year. Now that I moved on to PS4, I gave the game a year hoping I would be blown away, but here we have a game that plays VERY similar to the last Show game I played (2011) and looks very similar as well. To me it just still doesn't feel as dynamic and unpredictable as the MVP series did years ago.

On the gameplay side, the game still plays very well. Most of the same mechanics and modes are still in place, and there are plenty of options for customizing controls. It just feels very same-y to me. As much as I love the sport, I need SOME innovation to keep me interested and slight additions just don't cut it anymore. If you have played the game in the last 8-9 years, you know exactly what to expect here. Maybe I still need to figure out the fielding after taking some years off, but I can't seem to get my fielders to not throw lazily every time. No matter how quickly or long I hold the throw buttons they take their time letting runners advance and reach in ridiculous situations. This is probably my biggest pet peeve right now. Also, the fielding window is very touchy and on deep flies the OF tends to line up behind the throw for a running/catch/throw, even when not needed. Many times they will lunge at the ball and miss it due to the locked in animation. The tags on close plays are also lazy and slow and frustrating. Like I said, I only have around 10 games in, so maybe this will work itself out. The game also seems to overdo the automation in certain aspects. If a foul is going to be just out of reach, it wont even give you control of the fielder. Once a play has been deemed complete by the computer, you are not allowed to move your fielder or throw. I miss the days of manually throwing around the horn or just running around getting used to the controls.

There are also quite a few little gameplay issues that are bugging me so far. I have had quite a few swings that I have guessed the correct pitch, time the swing perfect (with great feedback) and even got the correct ball location, yet the ball passes clear through the bat (and this is with a hitter like Miguel Cabrera). Not sure if they are just trying to randomize things or what, but that is unbelievably frustrating.I also had a couple clearly foul balls (a few feet wide of the foul pole) be called homeruns. The manufactured rallies by the computer are still there as well. Having a good game offensively? You can almost count on the computer generating a good rally within the next two innings regardless of your pitching. The loading times are also quite long and annoying here.

As for the visuals, they are clearly getting the most out of a 10 year old game engine, but it is starting to show its age. I remember when developers used to develop/license a new game engine when a new game generation started, now we have aging engines covering 3 full generations. The truth is, the Show was a gorgeous game last gen, yet to me I would say it is an average looking game this gen.

The highlight with the visuals is that the lighting is gorgeous. It truly reflects the seasons and time and day. The grass textures, uniforms, and some stadium textures look great as well. Unfortunately, many of the players look very weak, and hair especially looks terrible. The minor league stadiums (although a nice inclusion) look horrid compared the love shown to MLB parks. 2D flat building and environment textures make it look like an up-res'd PS2 game when playing in the minors. The game still has no body physics to speak of, and players will routinely phase through each other with no interaction. Ball physics are still the same and could use improvements as well. The animations have improved slightly, but there are still jerky tranistions and weird hiccups that kill the smoothness and immersion. The game also stutters quite bad during certain scenes which is odd for a game focused on a few characters at a time. C'mon guys, let's put some effort in and go with a new engine next year and drop the PS3. Sorry, but that's the only way we'll see innovation.

Overall, if you are like me and haven't played a MLB game in years, it is well worth a purchase. My low-ish score is more focused on the fact that this has been the same game for YEARS now. If they want to do minor tweaks and roster updates and charge a $30 upgrade fee, that is fine. To charge full price every year and not even bother to update the engine or make make any major improvements to the areas of physics or gameplay is insulting. I will hold my breath for a major overhaul next year, otherwise I will continue my plan of only buying the game every 3 or so year

I'm curious to find out what other players of this game look forward to most in the game. Personally, I have never touched or been interested in the "card game" mode; the Diamond Dynasty, one bit. And I haven't had much gripe about camera angles and shadow affects. But that's just me. Was the general user feedback to improve these areas? I think the RTTS is the clearly most enjoyable and unique mode for a player, but maybe I'm in the minority? Wondering if others are as disappointed as I am in the lack of RTTS evolution and improvement.

Anyways, yeah, just really frustrating and disappointing to go through another year with the same RTTS experience. It feels so bland now and just isn't very rewarding. I don't play online, too tedious, and I've never played the card games (again, maybe I'm in the minority). I may return the game at this point and cross my fingers that they revamp RTTS next year :/

BUGS: My first game a ground ball that is a perfect hit between the gap and the 1st baseman. The ball is looking to roll under the 1st base man's glove, giving me a base hit. But no, a miraculous bounce into the player's glove and there goes my first online game.

Diamond Dynasty: Now I am a sucker for these kinds of game modes, Building you're own fantasy lineup. But this game mode is nearly unplayable. It's different when your opponent decides to put down their controller during a game that has a time aspect to it, but baseball does not have a play clock or a shot clock, or even any time to it. After leading 6-0 coming into my half of the 4th inning and we then play a one person multiplayer game for an hour, all for 152 rank points and a bronze card. Fix it, if your opponent doesn't play for 5 mins, it should be an automatic forfeit.

Road to the Show: I love road to the show and especially the new carry over system. But the rookie showcase or whatever is still unplayable. God forbid you let up a run as a pitcher or hit under .500 you are instantly a late round player. How does this affect you're player? well you're potential gets a low grade then progression is unheard of with a D potential prospect, even though you play with him.

Franchise: Franchise is getting better every year, I actually enjoy it this year especially with the carry over feature. I have my all 90 plus overall Marlins team in 2018 back this year so I pumped to play that.

Save Carry Over: This is such a huge feature added, haven't seen any bugs in this feature but there is probably something that will come up.

Licensed Gear: I haven't really seen much of this because I haven't really unlocked anything yet, but I am excited for this.

I like this game, but it is about the same as last year. In the fact that it has digressed in some aspects and progressed in some aspects, but I give it a 7 of 10. Not sure what to think about this game so far, but i'm hoping that I enjoy it.

It's a roster update with some minor fixes and new things like 'improved fielding' and 'dynamic sun'. Sounds cool on the surface, but once the glamour of baseball season starting back up wears off you realize it's about the same game as last year. While that's still a good game there is just very little additions from a cheaper copy of last year. No new modes, nothing.

Into the next-generation on my PS4, I was looking forward to a new iteration of more improved graphics, added commentary and animation. But that's not what I got. It's the same graphics, same animation and practically the same commentary. The differences however, where bad in a way that they actually took away things I enjoyed in my '11 version and added things I don't enjoy.

I don't enjoy baseball trading cards; they're useless to me. I don't enjoy collecting useless items like rocks. Seriously, rocks. I also don't enjoy MICROTRANSACTIONS to help you level up faster. And I don't enjoy that it takes longer to earn points to level up in the first place thereby putting an emphasis on the need for SPENDING MORE MONEY. I don't enjoy that they took away my option to add my music into the game for walkups and relieving; but left me with about a dozen generic songs. And I most certainly don't enjoy the bland pitching style that they introduced at some point from now since the '11 iteration. Instead of placing the pitch, you just press "x" for the windup, and then hit "x" again for the release. It's like Madden NFL kick offs, except not as fun. And worse still, you don't start 0-0, but the game gives you a predetermined count of 1-2, or 3-1 for you to take over from. WTH? I'm the one who is suppose to be playing the game, not the computer. It doesn't feel like a realistic baseball game at all. In trying to steamline the game to make it move faster they took away animation of the crowd, other players and coaches. I want to see more cutscene animations of the ball park, and let me decide if I want to skip to the action. The Show just doesn't feel like a baseball game on tv anymore; which was what had the greatest appeal for me.

Also, there is way too many frame drops here. This isn't suppose to be happening! This game can't be any more graphically challenging to my PS4 than the "11 was to my PS3. And I never suffered through frame drops on the PS3. It's pretty horrendous and it's definitely a game breaker. In fact, I'm going back to my '11 because the newer version isn't any better graphic wise, and it certainly doesn't compare in game presentation. Cue up the AC/DC Back in Black song, boys! I'm stepping up to the mound to shut 'em down!

What I mean is... in Dynasty mode your team is pretty weak to start and coming from playing the franchise mode team which is good... It's just frustrating to move from one mode to the other because the players screw up so much and you can't do anything about it. It was impossible to stay interested.

The licensed gear is kinda cool but after so many hours of playing I have the same things I received when I first started playing ... you don't get any feeling that you are rewarded. In fact you can buy in game currency to buy packs of cards which might contain players or gear! wow! I spend $70 bucks on a game and you can't even give me in game upgrades without spending money? Without playing all the game modes you don't get lots of points to spend on packs of cards, very frustrating.

I rage quit a game recently because sometimes it's impossible to throw a strike... regardless of what you do. So I powered off the system and went outside. The game decides that next time I should get a reward... to strip me of the reward and make me feel bad for quitting. no reward for quitting. So then on top of the game screwing me over on pitching... it punishes my rage quit .... wow.

After the dust settles and you play a few modes... you will see all the crappy game designs and cash grabs. Wish I didn't buy it.

By far the best version of The Show, been playing since '08 and they've really smoothed out all the camera movements. Online play has zero lag that Ive encountered in around 20 games, and the changes to some of the Franchise and Diamond Dynasty modes are welcome additions to this gem of a series. If you're on the fence whether its worth the upgrade, 100% YES it is... the Online playBy far the best version of The Show, been playing since '08 and they've really smoothed out all the camera movements. I was hesitant to buy this game because of how awful last years game for PS4 was. However, I wasn't let down this time. The graphics are noticeably better, unlike last years ps3 port. The pitching interface is way better than the past couple years. It's almost like mvp baseball again. There is new audio commentary which helps a lot and different animations. The stadiums look insanely real.I was hesitant to buy this game because of how awful last years game for PS4 was. However, I wasn't let down this time. Most importantly you can challenge your friends to online head to head matches with ease. online play is as smooth as nba2k which is a big plus considering how awful last years was overall. Much improved. Worth buying Expand

Last year, Online play was choppy, poor, horrible. This year has been very promising so far. I have played a couple of online games now and they were smooth and flawless. Offline play is gorgeous as usual.

The best sports franchise returns again for another home run! Gameplay, graphics, simulation realism, all top-notch. As a hardcore player of franchise mode, I couldn't be more thrilled about edit-able contracts and the addition of trade finder. The menus look a lot better than last year's, and it's overall just a better game.

The Show is INCREDIBLE!! I'll be honest, the last baseball game I played is Bases Loaded on NES... but for a guy that plays everything but sports games, I'm having a blast. Looks great, feels empowering.

For someone playing the series for the first time the commentary will sound pretty good. However those who do so year after year are sick and tired of hearing the same things and not having the emotion from the announcers to match the big moments. It's well past time for SCEA to make a change in this area.

Baseball simulation became even better but I still think it’s not the best sport to turn into a video game. There are just too many nuances – how you grip the bat, how your wrist works etc. – that are impossible to recreate. [07/2015, p.61]

With enough updates to keep you going for the next year, superb graphics and the ability to import your saves from the previous versions, The Show 15 probably is the best baseball game out there.
