May 15, 2014MLB 14: The Show is a fantastic first offering on a new platform. I am impressed that every single feature is included, and the visuals are truly stunning.
-
PlayStation UniverseMay 8, 2014Not much keeps MLB 14 The Show on PS4 from being the very best it can be on almost all levels. Though some uncommon visual and network discrepancies linger, San Diego Studios raises the bar that it's set for the last eight years in baseball simulation.

May 19, 2014MLB 14: The Show on PlayStation 4 is certainly the version you’ll want if you’re a hardcore baseball fan. It’s achingly pretty (with only a few minor drawbacks), it sounds great, and the gameplay is top-notch.
-
Jun 23, 2014MLB 14: The Show on the PlayStation 4 is about the looks. This is the same franchise as you know it with a next-gen coat of paint, and it looks incredible. Thankfully, it still plays wonderfully too, in large part to the same slick controls and gameplay features we’ve come to know and love.
-
May 19, 2014Player detail is also taken to the next level, with renders that make the players easily recognizable not only by looking at their face, but by looking at their animations as well.
-
May 12, 2014Coming into the release of MLB 14: The Show, it was clear that this is the king of baseball games. Not only is it the king but no other game is coming anywhere near it’s level of greatness for quite some time.
-
May 7, 2014I wouldn't say that you're missing out if you play it on PS3, as both share the same content (even the same problems in the online component), but the PlayStation 4 version is a slight step up. The visual upgrades do come with a slight price, however. Load times are significantly longer on PS4.
-
May 7, 2014MLB 14 The Show is a great baseball game marred by long load times, inconsistent online play, and performance issues. It's still a fun game and Road to the Show is, as usual, a great way to play the game. Fans of baseball will enjoy the game, but it's a little disappointing to see the performance issues.
-
May 13, 2014Overall, even with its faults, it's hard not to still absolutely love MLB 14 the Show, especially on the PS4.
-
Playstation Official Magazine UKJun 29, 2014It's a game in danger of tossing away its decade-long undefeated streak. [July 2014, p.85]
-
May 21, 2014While there are certainly some issues holding MLB 14: The Show back from being a classic in the sport game genre, there’s far more good than bad. The attention to detail, the plethora of content and the rock-solid gameplay make up for any problems.
-
Playstation Official Magazine AustraliaMay 17, 2014A big hitter, but not quite a home run due to unfixed bugs and a lack of evolution. [June 2014, p76]

May 12, 2014Sony’s MLB franchise has unquestionably made a successful leap to PlayStation 4. The franchise has never looked better and the game has made yet another jump into the realm of ‘true to life’. MLB: The Show retains its crown as the undisputed king of baseball games. This being said, it remains by in the large the same game we have played over the course of the past few years and the glitches do seem more prevalent.
-
May 8, 2014MLB 14: The Show was a great game a month ago when it came out on PlayStation 3, and it remains so on PlayStation 4.
-
May 6, 2014The transition to PS4 proved to be a healthy one for MLB 14: The Show. Continued online issues and increased load times aside, the visual boost provided by Sony's new hardware adds to what is already a solid baseball sim, making it the best version of the game available.
-
May 6, 2014It’s easy to recommend to anyone who’s enjoyed the series before. It’s very easy to recommend to a baseball fan who has a PlayStation 4 and never played The Show before. I just hope that next year’s edition wows me a bit more.
-
May 30, 2014The Show was clearly on its last legs on the PS3, and the revamped, more true-to-life ballparks infuse some much-needed atmosphere in the series’ PS4 debut. Meanwhile, Road to the Show includes several tweaks that help you create a more dominating prospect. Unfortunately, the player models don’t receive the same level of care, and the game’s online components aren’t on the level of most other sports franchises—issues that absolutely must be addressed going forward.
