    I really enjoyed playing Metro Exodus. It's an interesting story with likeable characters and some nice plot twists. Gameplay is very similar to the previous Metro games - you can use stealth or try shooting your way through. The game is really beautiful and it's nice to finally see different settings (Taiga was my favorite).

    I really enjoyed the first two games in this series and played both of them twice all the way through. I rarely write good or bad reviews unless I have a good reason. I almost gave this game a 1/10. I have two gigantic problems with this game.

    First, the inexusable load times. It takes 4 minutes to boot up and about 40 seconds to reload a quick save. I can live with 40 seconds to a    I really enjoyed the first two games in this series and played both of them twice all the way through. I rarely write good or bad reviews unless I have a good reason. I almost gave this game a 1/10. I have two gigantic problems with this game.

    First, the inexusable load times. It takes 4 minutes to boot up and about 40 seconds to reload a quick save. I can live with 40 seconds to a point, but when I trip, fall and die and have to reload the game, well, I don't want to be constantly staring at a loading screen. Second, the game is littered with glitches--the worst of which--the game freezes and has to be reloaded--that's 4 more minutes of staring at the screen. And it happened far too often. The game has been out an entire year--inexusable.

    The story is passable, the gameplay actually works well enough (although I didn't like the sniper scope) and the graphics and sound are fine. There are some boring but skippable dialogue parts, so that's forgivable. The upgrade system is nice and I liked the crafting. People complaining about running out of resources need to simply play smarter. This is a survival game that rewards smart choices. I liked the scarce resources; it made the game challenging. However, the open world aspect felt kind of unecessary, and could be a bit boring. The missions were fun, I have to admit.

    If the game didn't freeze and if the load times were significantly faster I would probably give the game an 8.5/10 based off of what I played. Got pretty deep into the Caspian area before I quit. I found some upgrades for my sniper rifle and the game froze every time I tried to install them.

    In conclusion, the game is unplayable for me in it's current state. There is a good game hidden in there somewhere, but the frustration of long load times and glitches forces me to give the game a very generous 4/10. What a bummer.    … Expand

    easily the best one out of the series for me. The graphics do seem kind of date, but that's alright since the story and the amounts of customisations for weapons make up for it. The sensitivity does seem quite low though, had to turn it almost completely up to be able to turn my damn character and another thing that kinda pisses me off is the ridiculous loading times.     Exodus, however, unnecessarily forces an open world into what    Like many users here, I am a huge fan of Metro 2033 and Last Light, because they were focused, linear, atmospheric and well-written games. The uniqueness of the Metro games was the claustrophobic feel of the train tunnel, the mysterious supernatural plot about the Dark Ones, and gritty politics based on real world ideologies.

    Exodus, however, unnecessarily forces an open world into what should have always been a linear experience. The bad parts of this game for me are the poorly written dialogue, bad voice acting, uninspired plot, forgettable characters and shallow, typical post-apocalyptic societies (been there done that). The long loading times (1-2min) are extremely aggravating too. Especially since you die pretty easily at higher difficulties and that forced me to play on normal, just to avoid staring at loading screens. I normally love NPC conversations that flesh out the lore but they were mostly painful to get through here, rambling on for too long (Krest, Admiral) and very poor voice acting (Miller, Olga, Giul, Baron). I just couldn't get invested in the story and world, often on the verge of giving up and moving on to other games. Also, the gunplay is clunky, some shots not registering despite my sniper scope clearly targeted on the enemy. The bow and Bulldog rifle are the most satisfying weapons to use.

    On a positive note, the environmental graphics are impressive, though not character animations. It has some nice guitar riffs, and exploration is engaging for a while.

    Devs, if you're reading this, plese go back to the dark, insidious tunnels if you're ever gonna do a Metro 4. My most disappointing game of 2019 just cos I loved Metro 1&2 so much.    … Expand

    Ощущение что игру делали в 2005ом. По крайней мере анимации на том уровне. Ужасный звук: ты просто не понимаешь что тебя атакует монстр, пока не увидишь на экране красные следы, по звуку расстояние до монстра не определить - орет одинаково что за 5 метров, что у тебя за спиной.
    Очень долгая загрузка сохранённой игры.    Ощущение что игру делали в 2005ом. По крайней мере анимации на том уровне.     - Le scénario et en particulier la fin

    Les points négatifs :
    - Le personnage principale "muet"
    - La synchronisation labiale. Les discussions manquent de fluidité et me sortent totalement de l'ambiance.

    Metro Exodus is a game for which you need to be patient to enjoy, especially if you’ve never been introduced to the Metro universe.

    The reason I say that is because of how slow the game feels on standard PS4. As if 30fps was not constraining enough, the game can be super laggy and freezy, the speed of movement is also very heavy and the aim precision is horrendous compared to Call of    Metro Exodus is a game for which you need to be patient to enjoy, especially if you’ve never been introduced to the Metro universe.

    The reason I say that is because of how slow the game feels on standard PS4. As if 30fps was not constraining enough, the game can be super laggy and freezy, the speed of movement is also very heavy and the aim precision is horrendous compared to Call of Duty standards. The long loading times don’t make good first impression either, neither do the many bugs, textures problems, etc. Moreover, Artyom doesn’t speak, which can sound kind of cheap for a 2019 game. Even then, some dialogs are really hard to follow when everyone speaks at the same time, as it’s the case in the train in the very beginning of the game. That’s even more of a problem when there is no proper directional sound in this game. It totally feels like a 2.1, and surely not a 5.1. That makes it very confusing to detect origin of sounds, and again, makes you think the game won’t be as good as expected. On the bad part, I’d also add that the movements of some ennemies really look like they’re coming straight out of a cheap 2007 MMO, such as those many beasts seen in Volga (the first open-world level). Finally, some missions can feel redundant and the whole story evolves pretty slowly.

    But, there is a but, and it’s big. The post-apocalyptic Russian setting has never been as breathtaking as in this game. I love the fact that Metro Exodus takes the player on a journey through post-nuked Russia & Kazakhstan. The artistic direction is incredibly good in this game, I’ve had a few Wow moments such as when you enter in Novosibirsk. This whole feel of a giant journey is a main force of the game. Between each hostile environment, you feel at home in the train, and that is allowed thanks to the details of dialogues and other stuff you can see/do/hear, which are as good during the whole game. Research of detail is also made by having a fairly rich inventory: good weapon customization, lots of stuff that can be used/controlled (lamps, chargers, watches with multiple functions, filters, backpack, goggles, and more). Another aspect I love about Metro is how it mixes very tense and even paranormal phases with more calm and mentally easy moments, and that those tense moments are sometimes unexpected. Despite its huge technical problems, I really got into Metro’s universe thanks to this game, browsing its fandom pages, that’s when I know I got to like this game. If the flaws I mentioned are corrected in the next Metro, it will have the potential to be a very good game.    … Expand

    Metro Exodus was the first game of Metro series for me. Usually, I don't like the apocalyptic games but this one kept me interested from the beginning till the end. Yes the game is not perfect and at some moments of it I was feeling uninterested( mainly one level in the mid of the game), but the rest of it was intriguing for me.     Sooting 2/2 the only thing I can say that I had never felt unfair, the shooting system is quite good if we take into about that 4A games is kind of small studio.

    Music 1/2 I think that if after you finished the game and you can't think of any soundtrack in it, you can not give full points to the game.

    Graphics 2/2 if you are not going to go to some far places in which there is no point to go except if you only want to take pictures of bad graphics, you will find graphics in Metro on a good level.    … Expand

    Самая атмосферная игра, в которую я когда либо играл. Дизайн уровней продуман до мелочей, собирать записки ни разу не утомляет, а даже наоборот. Осень интересно изучать истории людей которые жили в этих локациях, все очень убедительно!
    Также отдельного внимания стоит последняя миссия и локация, — я про Новосибирск;
    Иногда игра смешит, иногда пугает тебя до ужаса. Авторам отдельное    Самая атмосферная игра, в которую я когда либо играл. The story of this game is that after a certain event happens in the first chapter you are forced to escape on a train with a group of rangers, the game spans over a year and at the start it is quite slow and introduces you to its non-linear open worlds and I must say this is a welcome change to the game. I enjoyed exploring the levels and finding suit upgrades, this will make the game easier later and vital for certain missions. But the reason I love this game is the final few chapters, it becomes an emotional roller coaster and has a few twist which I didn't see coming, I was so immersed and invested in these characters I wanted to see the outcome and wanted all these characters to survive.

    A negative I can see with this game is that the isn't as scary as the first two, but I have to disagree with that, it has some great moments when you go into tunnels or the metro underground, these are horrifying and I loved it. A big surprise was some new mutants you meet in the Caspian sea level, they blend in well and they gave me a good freight because they where so unpredictable.

    The sound design and immersion in this game is amazing, the guns sound crunchy, the music is amazing, the footsteps always worked and with headphones it feels like you really are Artoym, this is the most immersive game for me in a very long time, even more than Red Dead Redemption 2 because this felt less tedious than that game. The crafting is simple, finding workbenches are easy and traversing through the map was also very easy.

    This game is a must play for all Metro fans, if this is where the series ended I would be happy because this ending was so satisfying especially if you got the good ending which unlike last light is very easy to get. I can't wait to see the direction they go for the fourth game (if it is created) and DLC for Exodus.    … Expand

    Все болячки, что были у первых частей - на месте.
    Кривая и не интересная стрельба. Тупой ИИ противников. Не читаемый интерфейс. Совершенно не понятно, стоит ли брать найденную новую пушку. Лучше ли она или хуже чем есть у тебя сейчас? Сюжет тоже подается очень криво. Герои то и дело начинают говорить одновременно. Их жестикуляция не соответсвует произносимым словам.    Ужасная игра.
    Все болячки, что были у первых частей - на месте.

    Loved 1 & 2 but this is literally unplayable. It's clunkier than any game made should be. He slows down as soon as he even looks at a blade of grass, and the input lag is just horrid. Push r3 to run n it takes 3-5 seconds to kick in. Did the critics even play the same game? How has it got 80%??? What is going on?

    Как бы ни хотелось поддержать отечественного производителя, но, спустя годы, скептически отношусь как к самой персоне Глуховского и его творениям, одной из немногих ценностей являющих разве что концепцию постапокалиптического метро в целом, при этом сюжетно несущем какую-то дичь из мешанины, характерной для 90-00 годов, - попытка совместить банальную ностальнию по поздним Советам,Как бы ни хотелось поддержать отечественного производителя, но, спустя годы, скептически отношусь как к самой персоне Глуховского и его творениям, одной из немногих ценностей являющих разве что концепцию постапокалиптического метро в целом, при этом сюжетно несущем какую-то дичь из мешанины, характерной для 90-00 годов, - попытка совместить банальную ностальнию по поздним Советам, различные штампы по поводу фракций постапокалиптического метрополитена - бандиты, Ганза, фашисты, нелепый набор переживаний позднесоветского человека, к сожалению, выплеснувшийся на страницы книг о Метро 2033, а впоследствии и в игры по мотивам. Сама игра перенимает спорный и проблемный сюжет из книги. Непонятно к чему добавлена категорическая нехватка ресурсов, искажая восприятие и без того некомфортной игры в целом.… Expand

    This game was an unexpected masterpiece. I bought it after a sale because it was cheap and I have now played it 5 times over. The gameplay mechanics are seamless, the gunplay is unrivalled and punchy, all the while retaining an intriguing storyline and terrifying creature diversity.

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Довольно интересная часть из серии Метро. К персонажам с самого начала привязываешься как к родным. В конце даже на сопли пробило.
    Графика сносная (только не понятно,почему на Ультра настройках с 60+ кадрами смог поиграть только на RTX 2070S?Графика далеко то не самая-самая топовая, если присмотреться к текстурам. Вывод- оптимизация не ахти, но на старте игры было ещё хуже,,На GTX 1060 6Gb играл только на Высоких настройках, без детального physX,лучей (да,да, программно их подвезли уже на GTX), fps на FullHD монике прыгал от 22 до 60-ти кадров. Отдельного внимания в игре заслуживает огонь. Матерь Божья...пошёл за мишкой для Насти, кинул в спящего в гнезде демона коктейль Молотова, и мои глаза просто плакали...Что это за ОГОНЬ такой ублюдский в 2019-ом году то?! Не огонь, а набор пикселей размером с ноготь на большом пальце руки (и это на Ультра настройках графики). Сюжет -обычный,ничего выдающегося. Начинается с того,что ищем место куда можно приткнуться, заканчивается тем,что ищем способ помочь Ане. Много не постреляешь, совесть просто не позволяла валить, к примеру, пионеров, хоть и было где разгуляться, стрелял только в бандитов, да в нефтяников. Поэтому,практически всё по стелсу, хоть он здесь хорош. Обе концовки мощные, прям эмоциональные, но игра "актёров" местами просто убила атмосферу, к примеру, когда команда в Новосибирске спрыгивает с поезда и "бежит" к Артёму с Мельником -вы видели их лица?! =D грусть от произошедшего ранее сразу сменилась на улыбку до ушей))) И момент,где Аня (в бреду) распиналась перед умирающим Артёмом, как руками то махала, Оскара ей =D Как выяснилось, у кого сильно фризит, отключите волосики в настройках (Хаерворкс. Из-за него,к примеру,в бэнчмарке,когда олень выбегает происходит фриз с хорошей такой просадочкой кадров).Купил игру по скидке на Эпике, золотое издание за 2450р. За такие деньги, вполне хорошая игра, тем более,что в эту стоимость и обе DLC войдут. 8 баллов из 10, за вышеперечисленные "косяки".    … Expand

    I just finished the game and you can see footage on Youtube (PS Play NL). It took me around 14 hours and i had a blast. Its a nice game and follows the footsteps of Metro Last Light and 2033. The atmosphere is fantastic, graphics and sounds are good, but the gun shooting could use an improve. It's easier to shoot beast with shotgun and human with rifle.

    These are a mixed bag. Generally they are good, yet nothing special either. The first few hours I managed to tolerate involved grey and bland environments that I frequently got lost in due their sheer blandness.

    Gameplay:
    Again, nothing special. You point and shoot your gun, with some inconsistencies in accuracy and damage. They attempted the Resident Evil approach of having limited ammunition but forgot that RE wasn't set in an open-world, making Metro's survival approach incompatible with their open world. Furthermore, far too often I was left without a clue as where to go next. The map wasn't made obvious until several hours into the game, by which point I had already experienced exasperation. Many other games have executed the concepts in Metro more successfully.

    Story:
    Some daughter of some commander is married to you but gets kidnapped and all hell ensues. Or something. The story is a bit incoherent or non-existent at first. Can't review it holistically as I was deterred after a few hours into the game.

    Conclusion:
    It's very easy to dismiss a review such as mine through noting I haven't played the whole game, however this is exactly why it can be argued as being an average or bad game - it did little to make me want to play it further. It was cumbersome and a chore to play, which is rather counterintuitive to the premise of videogames in general. Avoid this unless you're desperate for another open-world romp, and only then at a lower price.    … Expand

    Pros: gorgeous graphics, runs smoothly, crafting system is fun, upgrade choices are meaningful, enemy A.I. is excellent, variety of open world & linear levels, intense immersion, gameplay feels realistic, plenty of scares

    Cons: loading times are crazy, npcs talking over each other could be fixed with a prompt, a few bugs need unbugging

    Davvero bello e coinvolgente, scrittura, storia e dialoghi da 10 e lode. Ho apprezzato davvero tanto i capitoli precedenti ma questo ha un tocco in più. Io amo il genere e amo la serie, avevo aspettative altissime che non sono state deluse per nulla. Non credo che sia il miglior gioco a cui abbia mai giocato, ma è sicuramente quello che personalmente mi è piaciuto di più.

    Not as strong as the metro 2033 and last light, this game has a good tragic story, good environment, good enemies and excellent weird beasts. I enjoyed a lot the atmosphere of this apocalyptic world. Shooting with bow was sooo fun.

    Immersive at times, but overall a very b-level experience. The story is shallow and predictable, controls are clunky, and there are way too many QTE's. But when this game gets you, theres a level of unparalleled immersion that gets the adrenalin going

The enjoyment was all taken away from me however when the game forced closed and deleted my save on my PS4. What am i to do but to be angry??? Good game but ny god, does it need major work. I assumed all the bugs would be fixed 6 months after launch with various updatesI loved this game.     I cant think of anything negative to say about this game. The graphics are perfect, the sound effects in a headset are delicious and it has a well written story. I beat the game once but now im playing it a second time on game+ mode. I think 4A games or whoever made this game deserves a game of the year nod.

    I've never played the previous titles although always intrigued by it. The game and its mechanics certainly takes getting used to. It's not some sort of 'fluid shooter'. It feels heavy and clunky, which does add to the realism and it's combat and exploration are designed around this, so it's not like you feel like hampered and just needs getting used to.     Saying that, It is a very cinematic, atmospheric and story driven game and one of the very few games where friendly NPCs just feel so ''alive''. World building is incredible and manages to capture moments of sheer horror, comedy and fight for survival extremely well.
    Although the game is relatively short, gameplay and settings are varied, and it is not padded out with annoying repetitive tasks found in other games like Far Cry etc.

    I did genuinely struggle to warm up to the clunky movement and game mechanics to begin with so much so that I wasn't sure if I should just drop it. But, I persisted and I have to say that the overall gaming, visual experience, world immersion and story telling of the game were simply incredible. It's well worth sticking with it and getting used to it's nuances, just like it was with games like 'The Last of Us'.
    In fact I'd go as far as to say this should be an unmissable title for anyone interested in high quality games. I can't wait for it's two DLCs and It's certainly a game I'll re-visit with the next console generation which should resolve the current technical limitations.    … Expand

    I truly love this game. I feel like much of the criticism from users stems from the speed of gameplay or difficulty. These are two of the reasons this is such a standout title for me. I have been playing on ranger hardcore difficulty and it seems to be one of the only shooters i have ever played that is optimized around the max difficulty. For me, this makes the game punishing but fair. While the challenge is immense, i never felt like it was insurmountable. I compare this to the CoD games where when the difficulty is cranked up, it is clear that no one was meant to play it in that manner. Instead of increasing AI intelligence or line of sight, the developers give every NPC perfect accuracy and limitless grenades. Another reason why i love the game how it provides an incentive for well thought out and deliberate decision making. For example, because weapon quality affects performance, and the cleaning process is a relatively resource heavy process, i make a point to avoid terrain that would make my weapons more dirty. The decision making is extended to the crafting process when you must decide between making, gas masks, air filters, or more ammo. I could go on and on for hours but i was overall extremely impressed.

    Although i did give the game a 10/10 there were a couple of things that have annoyed me. The biggest problems have been invisible walls that block both movement and bullets, and NPCs talking over each other. For a game that tries so hard to make you love the NPCs, it can be hard to understand their dialogue as they are barely audible over other NPCs.    … Expand

    This game's story is great, and a good sendoff to Artyom and the crew. The gameplay has some very solid elements, however some frustrating design choices make the experience less enjoyable. If this game had 5 more months of developement time it could have been a masterpiece.

The history is also weaker against the history of the previous games. The first act is fine, the second act (caspian desert) is not good, as its a directly call from mad max, and the third act is the best one (the forest and the metro). If you're a big fan of the game, I recommend it, but don't expect to be as surprised as the last games. If you're a survival genre gamer, you'll probably love this game.… Expand

    I played through the first hour and then it crashed. I loaded it up again and my save data was corrupted. I started over again and played through up until the final mission. Now the boat won't move forward. It'll turn but literally won't move... I'm completely unable to progress through the final mission even after exiting the game and loading it from the menu.

    Outside of these glitches the weapon mechanics aren't exactly great and there are just too many sections where the protagonist is forced to walk or wait for other incredibly slow moving characters.
    I enjoyed the first two games much more as they were tense and the linear nature kept things moving smoothly. Exodus looks pretty but is surprisingly quite dull.

    I'll update my score if at some point in the future i'm able to move this dumb boat again but odds are i'm done playing this game.    … Expand

Tecnicamente é incrivel e ate agora (junho 2019) um fortissimo candidato a ser o melhor jogo doa ano na minha lista. Compra obrigatoria.

    Well to get it out of the way, it is a good game. Elements it takes from the previous Metro games are still good, and sometimes even better. Unfortunately, there are also many elements that are new or revised which are not so good.

    The Metro games have always been a Lineair Suvival Horror experience, which it is good at. What it is not so good at, is being a semi-open world. With the new larger maps that give the player more freedom comes the problem of slower pacing, chaotic pathfinding and confusion. The atmosphere of the apocalyptic tunnels and post-nuclear moscow is lost the moment the player enters these open maps, as the tension and well directed fear is lost. To describe this game the best, i will rate every chapter/map:

    Introduction in Moscow: (6/10)
    This part of the game is meant to give a quick tutorial, but also sets up the story. Sadly, this part is not very strong. What makes Moscow interesting as a location, is that you will always be under the threat of radiation. It is your home, yet the story immediately leaves this very interesting location under the bases that there's a whole open world outside Moscow. This twist undermines the great stories of the previous games.

    The Volga (7/10):
    This is where problems start to show. The freedom to explore a map rather than following a well directed path, is that the overall experience changes to something average without much tension. There's a mission in this map which locks you inside a large complex with only a single direction to go. There are mutants appearing, and it instantly feels familiar to the previous Metro games. Apart from this section however, it feels more like a standard open world FPS than a Metro game. The cultists are mostly NPC's that stand in your way, and offer no interesting challenge or backstory.

    The Bunker level (8/10):
    This level embraces the lineair adrenaline fueled tension and atmosphere of the previous games, and it instantly makes it a far more enjoyable experience. You fight through dozens of cannibals to get to your precious Anna (which is nothing more than a damsel in distress in this game), and learn what happened to the government after the bombs dropped. Very cool mission. Sadly the AI was a bit dumb.

    The Caspian Sea (5/10):
    Truth be told, it felt like a choir to get through this level. A desert area with a car, which feels like a Mad Max rip-off, has nothing remotely reminiscent to Metro games. The distances are too large, especially considering the car steers like **** The slaves are not interesting, and none of the Atmosphere from Nuclear Moscow is present here. There's one mission where you go underground while fending of spiders, which is enjoyable. But that's it. Very underwhelming level.

    Taiga (7/10):
    This mission is far less open world than the previous missions, and it makes the game a whole lot better. The path is far more directed and lineair, which brings back some atmosphere and tension. Sadly though, the people in this area are not very intriguing, nor does the story care about them. It feels like just another stop to the actual destination.

    The Dead City (10/10:
    Now this is Metro! Back is the Lineair Nuclear Winter atmosphere, the darkness, the cold, the radiation. The silence of a city that is even more radiated than Moscow brings a constant tension and immersion far better than event the previous games did. Familiar monsters like the Nosalises return, and new enemies are encountered that are interesting and frightening. Supernatural elements return in the way only Metro games can, and it makes for a level that is the best part of the game. I wish 4A games had made a game that only had levels like the Dead City.

    Apart from all this, 4A games decided to change some things in favour of a more cinematic experience. Sadly, i think this was a bad decision. Climbing on ladders, looting enemies and opening doors now requires holding a button rather than tapping a button. Animations have been added that feel unnecessary and make the game slower rather than better. The bullet currency system is gone in favour of a crafting system, which is not as fun. Crafting on the go is a welcome addition however!

    All in all you get my point. I feel like a more lineair game like the previous entries and The Dead City level would have made for an amazing game. Sadly, this game isn't it. But it is still a good game. I give this game a 7/10.    … Expand

    I feel the developers were able to successfully transfer the original formula over to the 3 hub worlds, whilst making the story quite intriguing. The supporting cast are well written and there is a string bond between you all. This is especially true of your wife, Anna, and your step father, Miller, who feel like the protagonists as your character does not speak. Weapons are limited but there is a ton of customisation that makes up for it. The backpack is the best addition allowing you to craft on the fly. However, controllers feel somewhat stiff like it came from the PS3 era, and I still dislike the binary /rigid morality system that determines which ending you get. There is a disconnect between exploring and finding supplies, where the rewards may not be worth the supplies used. The biggest flaw is that I feel this is a one-time journey, I do not feel compelled to replay the game. In the end I had a great time going along on this journey after 25 hours of game play. This game receives an 8.5 and I do recommend going on this journey.… Expand

Yet, I do enjoy the game and it definitely has its moments when you are on a mission and it feels more like the previous entries.
    What's ironic is that I used to read or watch reviews with the exact complaints that I described and though "they are not true fans" or "they are being overly critical because they resent Epic exclusivity," but unfortunately such reviews are spot on.

    Really wanted to like this game... I've enjoyed the previous installments so figured this would be pretty solid. The game is obtuse and the world design is just boring. Half the time you are wondering around wondering where the heck you are supposed to go and then when you do enter combat it just isn't that exciting. Wish I could sell this, but alas it's on PC.

    Fantastic game on PS4. A great ending to the Metro trilogy, I just wish the game was a little longer. I didn't have a single issue during my entire play through of the game. You really do need to have played the previous games in the Metro series to get the most out of it. The shooting and open world work well and make for a good change of pace from the previous games being stuck inFantastic game on PS4.     But some gaming magazines rated this game with 90 or more! Where very ok games like Wolfenstein 2 only got a rating of 89!

    Bugs and boring game.The worst metro game I couldn’t play more than an hour the controls are so bad and laggy you can’t land a shot I tried every possible fix nothing works plus they kept the protagonist silent so that gets you off this game isn’t made for an open world. the controls are bad. The game handles like a bus with only one square wheel.     Beside long loading times after dying I really loved this experience, it was so immersive and some environments looked INCREDIBLE.. I liked the characters and story and the different outcomes is a fine edition too.

    Anyway, it was pretty obvious after an hour what I was in for, so deciding to remit this title back to Redbox. Really glad i didn't purchase this thing after seeing the cool trailers.    … Expand

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Metro Exodus gets a lot right, but unfortunately it gets a lot more wrong. Let's start with graphics. The graphics didn't stun me like they stunned a lot of people (I'm running on a GTX 970 on a 1080p 27" monitor while the game was on Ultra), and at times it felt pretty bland. The textures are high in quality, but the design of enemies and environments is pretty bland. I really enjoyed the atmosphere. A post-apocalyptic world with lots to see, and it was very pretty to look at. The character design wasn't the best I've seen, but certainly not the worst either. Really just average, but for a franchise that typically boasts benchmarking I just don't see it.

    The story seems very forces, particularly in the delivery of the characters and voice acting. The main character is fed up that no one else believes there's more to the world outside of Moscow and Metro. In true dreamer fashion, he can't be contained and continues to explore the world until he and his wife see a train. Bam, they aren't alone. He gets shot point blank, falls 20 feet, gets fallen on by two other corpses (who were shot and fell from the same distance), only to get back up, pop a medkit, and roll on out. The character drone on and on in no interesting fashion at all. They want you to complete side missions for them like grabbing a guitar and a doll for them. In other words, put yourself in "danger" and I'll make it worth your while with a gun upgrade or something.

    Combat is nothing innovative. If you've played most modern day fps games, you'll slide right in. That's not a negative either. I found that the combat was pretty seamless and I enjoyed the rare times I got to shoot some people up. It's really stealth that leaves me scratching my head. Typical "crouch in a shadow and the AI wont see you" deal here. You can be right next to an enemy, and if you're crouched in stealth you're as good as shadow. I'd trade the stealth mechanic for more ammo and more enemies.

    On another note, I had really thought there would be more mods for the game. Most all the mods I've seen have been reshades to make a pretty game look even prettier.

Почему нельзя сделать нормальные кат-сцены с нормальными диалогами, а не просто тихие голоса во время самого геймплея? Иногда персонажи говорят в один голос и ты ничего не понимаешь и это бесит. Управление деревянное, стрелять очень сложно, а иногда невозможно. Стелс очень странный и как будто недоработанный, противники тебя не видят когда ты стоишь к ним практически вплотную. Бесит то что постоянно приходится смотреть в гребанный планшет (мини карта была бы намного удобнее). Очень часто путаешься на локации (не понимаешь/не знаешь куда идти) и ты должен обходить всю локацию что бы найти то что тебе нужно (и это еще с учетом того что постоянно темно и везде противники). Сами противники дерганные и постоянно где то застревают или наносят тебе урон даже когда не смотрят в твою сторону, да и сама анимация персонажей кривая, дерганная и убогая. Из плюсов можно отметить неплохую графику и проработку локаций, игра довольно атмосферная и даже красивая. Сюжет так же довольно неплох. Озвучка годная и качественная (но какой в ней смысл если ты ничего не слышишь). В целом это все важные моменты которые есть в этой игре.… Expand

    This game looks great when you are watching it. However, once you start playing its very frustrating.
    The graphics look ok but the actual gameplay, story and voice over are really bad.
    It gets better towards the end of the game. If you manage to get that far.

    Oh also there are some jump scare which I hate but if you are into it go for it. Won't recommend though

    So glad I rented this POS. Terrible controls *even with newest patch* and terrible AI. I got to Caspian and had enough. No idea how people rated this game so highly. Game is ugly, voice acting is atrocious. This is not even worth a rental.

    I emailed the developers asking if they could give me an option to turn off motion blur as it's really bad for me in this game and what did they do they only gave options for low, medium etc and even on low motion blur after 15 mins it was impossible for me to play.     Fairly good game with some looong movies, but interesting story and situations, especially when you can take decisions what to do, instead of being driven by standard path.

    Still, I have played better games. This is little above average.

But i have one complaint, and it is a big one. Half of the time in the game i have no clue what is going on. It just says "Go here" And doesn't tell you what to do at all. I was getting creamed by monsters and pretty anything I ran into at the start. But give yourself some time to learn how to play the game, move slowly and observe and you'll have a blast.

    It's not a perfect game, there are some bugs and glitches, do not throw cans around, since everyone in the immediate area will know exactly where you are. But all in all they never bothered me to the point that I was not able to enjoy the game anymore.

    I would have given this game a solid 8, but since I think it deserves a lot more than 6.7 in the user scores I have given it a 9.    … Expand

I haven't played any of the other Metro games, but in comparison to other FPS, this game is about as clunky as they come: movement speed is comically slow for the setting, weapon aiming is some of the worst in the last decade, button layout is overcomplicated, and traversing the open world quickly becomes an exercise in avoiding scenery so your avatar doesn't get stuck on invisible objects or protrusions. In these respects, it feels as though it bears more in common with Fallout than a more traditional FPS.

    The voice acting for the English dub isn't the worst I've heard on this generation, but the low quality dialoging and the editorial choices to overlap character dialogue result in conversations that are far from convincing or compelling. In large conversations, or conversations where other dialogue is taking place behind a wall or in another room, the important information becomes difficult to distinguish from the background content. It's not an inherently bad choice to do overlapping audio, but it needs to be executed such that the important dialogue is always louder than less important dialogue - a technique called side-chaining. This is made worse by the subtitles that are in a difficult color with little effort put into distinguishing speakers from one another.

    These are really a shame as the underlying story is interesting and something I'd like to get involved in. I'm not sure that the gameplay will allow me to really invest myself in the world the way I'd like to. I constantly feel as though my immersion is being broken, in part by the mechanics that are intended to increase immersion. For instance, rather than providing a radar with a location or quest indicator, the game provides you with a map that is referenced in real time. More often than not, you end up wandering around a location with no idea where to go next trying to find some object to open a door or a boat to climb into. It's deeply immersion breaking, and results in an unpleasant playing experience.

    Perhaps the worst of all these issues, though, is the nauseating field of view. I do not get motion sick, I do not have issues playing fast motion games, I do not have issues watching shaky cam movies. This game, however, makes me ill. Not only is it nauseatingly narrow, it actually makes it difficult to see what's happening in the environment around you: enemies will pop out of your FOV with no notice, objects will protrude and make contact with the player avatar but never actually broach into the FOV, and scripted movements like climbing, "swimming", and rowing the boat all create a distinct sea-sick feeling. It's perhaps the most pronounced failure of FOV I've seen this generation, and the lack of any FOV slider may actually be so bad as to be considered game breaking.

    I absolutely do not recommend this game for PS4 in its current state. It's clearly not had the amount of time necessary to optimize it for consoles, and I thin there have been many creative decisions made that exchange quality gameplay for excellent graphics. I have no idea if any of the issues outlined will be fixed, or it patches are something 4A does with any regularity, but there's a host of glaring problems in the game that need to be addressed before this is worth much more than $30.    … Expand

I've spent a lot of time with this game, and without having completed it I am almost nearing the end, but I had to write this review and share my thoughts. I've spent a lot of time with this game, and without having completed it I am almost nearing the end, but I had to write this review and share my thoughts. First of all, why are people complaining that the movements are cumbersome? You play as a Spartan, with heavy armor and a backpack full of gear. 4A games didn't want you running round the map like Master Chief or Soap McTavish, they wanted a boots on the ground, visceral, realistic experience. NOT a run round the map blasting everyone away like the Marine in DOOM, so please, stop complaining that movements are slow, it's made for some harrowing moments. Like seeing a group of Humanimals come your way and you turn and fire a shot and it whizzes past their head and you curse and reload that gun and then land a perfect shot, those are moments that must be felt in a post-apocalyptic environment. If you want a full action post-apocalypse to run round in then please, wait for RAGE 2. But if you want a solid adventure with a decent storyline and tense, heart in mouth moments, Metro is your thing, even without being a fan of the originals. I've completed Metro 2033 but didn't get around to Last Light even though I have the remasters, but Exodus is, as I said earlier, phenomenal. The gun play is great, the sneaking, and I don't usually have the patience for it, has been a smooth ride so far, the enemies are around enough to pose a threat but not too much to become an annoyance, the level design is perfect and the switch to open areas (I love scavenging) is amazing.
    I did, however, encounter a common bug which prevents you from using workbenches that you need to use to upgrade, repair, switch loadouts etc while I was on the Caspian desert level, but when I completed the chapter the bug fixed and wasn't a problem. It was annoying as I had to fight with dirty weapons for a while, but it did fix. That's literally the only negative I have about Metro, other than that, it's been one hell of a journey. 9/10    … Expand

    The story kept the good tone of the Metro universe and immersed me from second one and I wanted to see the end of Artyom's journey.
    Story wise I was a bit annoyed that Artyom is not talking and I wished he could express his emotions and thoughts during the gampelay and not only during loading screens. From the    I read all main books, the spin offs and played the previous two games.
    The story kept the good tone of the Metro universe and immersed me from second one and I wanted to see the end of Artyom's journey.
    Story wise I was a bit annoyed that Artyom is not talking and I wished he could express his emotions and thoughts during the gampelay and not only during loading screens.

    From the gameplay, I loved to stealth my way trough the enemy lines and get new upgrades what made me run from question mark to question mark.

    Altough here lies also one of my critics, I wished that the question marks would be connected
    to NPC and interesting sub stories, but you just listen to some NPC's or find POI with your binoculars, go the POI, kill or sneak your way to the loot and go to the next question mark.
    Also the open level segments felt a bit empty, I know, post apocalypse, but still....

    Anyway the story made all up for this problems and I enjoyed every second of it.    … Expand

    After the disastrous blunder of Bethesda with Fallout 76 you feel there is justice because we got our post apocalyptic setting everybody wanted in a good game in Metro Exodus. Yes its good its not perfect. Although there are some issues ranging from technical to story running out of ideas, non existent character & gun development and limited post apocalyptic impact on nature and the fewAfter the disastrous blunder of Bethesda with Fallout 76 you feel there is justice because we got our post apocalyptic setting everybody wanted in a good game in Metro Exodus.     Having moved the action away from the dark tunnels of Moscow's underground onto a train, going into the unknown and forced to make stops throughout the journey, Metro Exodus' authors created a memorable interactive adventure consisting of happiness from discovering love and grief from irreplacebale loss, hope of better future and despair from understanding the truth. On top of that one might call Exodus a distorting mirror that reveals the most horrible sins of mysterious Russian soul: heresy and servilism.

    Overall, Metro Exodus is an enjoyable shooter. Taking Metro out of the Metro is a good move for the series, but the game still provides plenty of claustrophobic locations for those who enjoyed the dark tunnel crawls of Metro games past. The ammunition system is still limited, but it feels better managed and more forgiving this time out, although I can still see it as being frustrating to some players. If you haven't played a Metro game before or were put off by the games in the past, give Metro Exodus a chance. You can catch this train running and enjoy the ride.
