THIS IS A DEMO, MGS Ground Zeroes is an absolute joke, and may set a worrying precedent in the games industry.

This game, while has some interesting gameplay, should not exist. Don't buy this game, wait for it to be on sale or rent it if you want to try it out; even though this game is pointless to play now that The Phantom Pain is out.

    Was it fun?

    Favorite Character?

    Favorite World/Stage?

There was only one stage or location.

    Would you play it again?

No, I just didn’t care for the game.

    Any Complaints?

I thought it was really hard and there wasn’t much of an introduction or anything. It just through you into the gameplay and having never played a Metal Gear Solid game before, I didn’t know what to do.

How many hours did you play it?

I tried for a couple hours and I just couldn’t beat the first and only mission so I stopped.

I give it a near perfect 9.5 as being a standalone demo.

Where phantom pain sucks, this demo did it right. It allows you to go straight to the story without having to complete tons of fetch quests...(kill target, extract...rinse repeat..). The objectives simply to PUSH the story forward. So in the name of being allowed to skip filler content and go straight to the story.

P.S I got this game free from PS plus. I would be pissed if I paid 40$ for it. That's for sure. No matter how excellent it was, it's unethical to sell 2 hours of gameplay for that price.

Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes is honestly a fantastic game. The story was great (albeit very short) and the graphics were flawless. Kiefer Sutherland was perfect as Big Boss. The controls and gameplay was amazing. My only problem with it was the absurdly short length. In the end, this is a fantastic game.

It's gets so repetitive and how long you want to be sneaking around anyway? It's not fun after 1 hour. So thanks for showing me the gameplay that is to be in Phantom Pain. Cos now I know I won't buy it and won't have to waste time on it cos I won't enjoy it. Many people would. Not me though.

Another problem I have with the game is the main character. Guys, it's 2015 well, 2016 now why can't we create our character?? I don't want to play this random old man with an eye patch. Same thing with the Witcher, who happen to be even older than Venom Snake. Omg what's with the popularity of old men these days?? lol.

It's not a terrible game as I said, the game mechanic is quite solid. Just repetitive (like my review). But playing GZ once, I don't know if I want anymore of Metal Gear.. Alright then. Signing out.

Luckily it has many kinds of missions you unlock after beating the game and you unlock more of them as you play through them, so you can't just judge the games length based on only the main mission length.

    I reduced 2 points because of the price and shortness. Otherwise the game deserves something between 9 and 10;
    - visuals are perfect
    - sounds are good even though I'm not entirely sure if Snakes new voice is better than before
    - gameplay is better than before. There are new moves and things you can do. I can only complain about not being able to select hard difficulty from start. Playing on normal requires no sneaking as its that easy.
    - and last the mission area is big enough for the missions

If you are, I hope reviews have not scared you off because MGSV-GS can be a great game. I have always been attracted by the MGS franchise but was always dissapointed when trying the games. So I cannot be considered an MGS or Hideo fan but rather a newcomer to the series. I do love stealth and tactical games however: Splinter Cell, Ghost Recon, Rainbow Six, Dishonored, Hitman, ... you get the picture. I got the last MGSV-GS trophy yesterday, the effort took me 18 hours of actual gameplay and I enjoyed every minute of it. I will still come back to the game but now I felt compelled to drop a review. 18 hours is what many full-price titles put on offer, so value is good unless those hours are repetitive or lack diversity. That is the key question to ask yourself.

What turned me off mostly in earlier efforts were the clunky controls. This time around, these are spot on. You are controlling an Action Man with rewarding capabilities, including ability to take weapons from enemies to hold them up, surprise them and force them to the ground, force them to call their friends, interrogate them for information, choke them, ... Very rewarding close quarter combat system and the weapon mechanisms feel right once gotten used to. When going prone, something needed in MGSV-GS, the game solves some of the normal "movement restriction" problems in a very nice way.

What is the biggest turn-off for many is that the whole game takes place in a single military camp. The term "open world" has been brought up but it really isn't. The area isn't larger than mission areas found in e.g. newer Ghost Recon games and one of my dissapointments in a tactical game like this is that enemies still tend to pop out of nowhere when using the binocular even if they should be visible to the naked eye. This is true even on the PS4 hardware and is one of the flaws of the game that had actual impact on gameplay. Otherwise, the graphics are really great and immersive but for graphics-buffs it does not fully compare to the output of engines that were optimized for the PS4 even if it meets the 60fps holy grail mark.

Rather than thinking of open world one should think of this game as having "large tactical freedom and with many ways that missions may play out". For instance, when observing your enemies conversations, you will discover multiple paths to your objectives and a perfect stealth strategy may be suddenly voided by an uncareful moment which means that the rest of the mission plays out quite differently. All approaches are fun, and compared to other stealth games where one would often reload checkpoints to continue the planned strategy, it is rewarding to continue and see how the game now turns out. You observe and you plan continously which is rewarding for patient types. Or you go in with guns blazing which also has some chance of success provided it is done in a skilled manner. You can ride trucks to your advantage, you can steal armored vehicles and jeeps to escape the base to complete a mission, you can call in a support helicopter to get you out of tight spot, etc. Lots of tactical freedom.

There are six missions. Main mission is a search and rescue mission which also has some side-missions. Other missions have you eliminate certain enemies, acquire intel, destroy anti-air emplacements, and then there is a bonus mission depending on what platform you are on. On PS, this is a sneaking mission that has you re-create scenes from earlier MGS games. A different mission has you sit on the helicopter, providing air support to rescue a special intel operative from the base. All missions provide some diversity, and the trophy system is well made to guide the player through different play styles. Once one has eleminated the two soldiers on the base, the next challenge is to neutralize them and extract them via chopper without having them killed (including stray gun fire). Each mission plays out at different times of day, ranging from bright daylight to deep and rainy night missions. These parameters impact the gameplay in fairly realistic and rewarding ways.

So overall, MGS is a well implemented game. The drawing and view distance does occasionally impact the gameplay which is the biggest technical flaw I found in the game. The game offers a lot of diversity in game-play options, in approaching missions, and in mission objectives. In my case, 18 hours of continuous fun to accomplish all the defined game-objectives. However, the game offers nearly no diversity in scenery and the military base that forms the platform for the game is quite small. One will have to decide what type of diversity one needs from a game to conclude whether it is worth the money. If scenery is everything, the game can be completed in 15-20 minutes.

Now the campaign's GAMEPLAY is superb! The A.I is intelligent, acting realistic, never being to dumb or over sensitive. The Fox Engine is amazing, creating a graphical experience like no other, immersing you not only with its graphical fidelity, but also with its realistic sound design. To be honest I enjoyed every moment. So that makes it 30 minutes of fun. How much would you pay for that? 1 maybe 2 dollars? NO! Guess what you'll be paying... 30 dollars!!!!!! 30 DOLLARS!!!!! WTF?! And don't say you can do the side missions because they're about 2 minutes each, adding an extra 10 minutes to the game at max. Despite the story having an interesting premise, it fails to grip you purely because of its length. You're tasked with rescuing captured soldiers behind enemy lines. Sounds cool doesn't it, but as soon as things get good, the game abruptly ends. In addition to this, there's not a singal boss fight in the game, something Metal Gear games are famous for. To add insult to injury, there's not even a cardboard box in game! WTF!? Screw you people who wanted fan service outside of some 2 minute side mission. And ironically, it's the hardcore Metal Gear fans defending the game. So after this review you'd think this game would have pretty low sales. WRONG! Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes is a prologue to an upcoming game Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain and works as a teaser to what is yet to come from the full "Metal Gear Experience". Here are a list of my thoughts after completing the game.

    PROS:
OPEN WORLD. Open world allows multiple ways of tackling your current objective (infiltrate the base on a back of a truck or sneak in without drawing the guards' attention for example) and exploration for items or guards to interrogate for more information.
MOVEMENT. Snake moves smoothly and changes stances dynamically on the move compared to previous games' tank-like controls.
REPLAY VALUE. Each mission has two difficulty settings, ranks depending on your score during a said mission and trials to unlock. My total game time was boosted up to 15 hours from completing the missions on S-rank, finding all the hidden items and unlocking all the trials.
MARKING. In an open world it's hard to keep track of your enemies hence the inclusion of marking. Really makes the game lot less frustrating if you scout the area a bit and mark some enemies with your binos.
REFLEX MODE. In addition to the marking the reflex mode was introduced, too. This can be turned off for added difficulty and points.
WEATHER and LIGHTING. The weather conditions affect the patrolling guard AI significantly: the rain muffles the sound of your footsteps and the brighter the day is the farther the guards can see.
CUT SCENES. The near flawless transition from game play to cut scene is great.
DIFFICULTY CUSTOMIZATION. People craving for more difficulty can handicap their game play thorough multiple options... and setting rules for themselves like "neutralize all guards with hold-ups" or something similar.
GUARD AI (At least on Hard difficulty). If you get spotted, you are likely to go down since these guards swarm and seal all the possible escape routes. Their increased vision and hearing make the even tougher than their Normal counterparts

    MIXED:
CONTEXT SENSITIVE ACTIONS. Leaning on a wall or box can get clunky if done in tight spaces.
CRAWLING. Your main mode of transportation can be really clunky when you are about to crawl in tights spaces or over tiny objects bolted on the ground.
RADIO. I hope we get to see fully realized radio in The Phantom Pain like in the previous installments.
MISSION LENGTH. My first play through of the first mission took about 90 minutes as I was exploring and sneaking around aside from the current objective. If done efficiently the missions can be completed well under 30 mins and speed ran in even less.

    CONS:
STORY. This feels like a "third final real ending" to the Peace Walker. Not much happens what hasn't been shown in the trailers. Though the best is yet to come in The Phantom Pain.
WEAPONS OF MASS DESTRUCTION. The Tranquilizer and INFINITE magazines. The game becomes really easy if these two are exploited. Highly suggest to handicap your usage of these if you want more difficulty.

From game play and presentation alone, I give Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes 7/10.
Don't buy it if you can rent it or borrow it but it's definitely worth a shot for the game play alone.

The agony of waiting for new Metal Gear content is finally over.

The prologue to last summer’s reveal of Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain was released recently, along with some controversy to its price and length.

Taking a similar approach to Sony with Gran Turismo 5, Konami and the team over at Kojima productions have previewed the latest entry in the Metal Gear franchise with Ground Zeroes.

Snake’s most recent operation has him infiltrating a military base in Cuba to rescue two captured Militaires Sans Frontières agents. The game does a good job of setting up what will take place in The Phantom Pain, as well as recapping the events of Metal Gear Solid 3 and Peacewalker (so if you haven’t played them, their endings are spoiled).

Along with the Ground Zeroes main mission, there are other assignments Snake can undertake. They are all centered around the same base, but the time of day, weather, and objectives change. These objectives range from taking out anti-aircraft guns, to document recovery.

With the main campaign and side missions, I found there’s about 10 or so hours of gameplay. There is even more content if you attempt to take the game really stealthily and go for A ratings on missions.

While I did very much enjoy the game, I would qualify it as a big demo that will do a lot for fans of the series, but newcomers will find that their 30 dollars may be better spent elsewhere. The game, like the others before, is fairly presumptuous. It assumes that you are familiar with what’s going on in the story.

As for the actual game, I really enjoyed my time with it. Ground Zeroes’ missions take me back to the first levels of Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory, and I thought it played very similarly to the Splinter Cell games, which I was a big fan of.

I found Ground Zeroes a lot more user-friendly than previous Metal Gear installments. The clunky UI has been streamlined, the previously broken L/R menus are a thing of the past, and the D-Pad functions as a faux clickwheel. This was much easier to use. It performed smoothly in the heat of combat and allowed for a better experience.

The UI has changed, but the combat and stealth options seemed more akin to the Metal Gear most will be used too. Your silencer will degrade as you fire the weapon its attached to, and Snake has his trusty tranquilizer gun as well. As with the other Metal Gear Solid games, it’s still up to you to find grenades and stronger weapons.

The game makes the player want to stick to the shadows, hide from guards, and take precise shots to avoid raising and alarm.

The stellar graphics and physics are powered by the Fox Engine, which can handle the most supreme details, and really add to cinematic experience that Kojima so loves to deliver. I never thought that the detail of rain on Snakes op’s suit would be a point of interest in a game. The game looks great and the Fox Engine helps with shadow and light physics, which adds depth to the stealth sections of the game.

There were little graphical or gameplay errors, but my game experience, overall, was pretty well polished and I have no real complaints. I was glad to see that, along with solid story telling, that the game was very playable too.

I enjoyed my time with Ground Zeros, and am still going back to finish the side missions. The game did a great job of getting you ready and excited for whats to come in The Phantom Pain. Sadly, we don’t yet have a release date for Phantom Pain, so this will just have to hold us over until then. I hope it will be holiday season, 2015, but, with E3 and TGS still to come, hopefully we will learn when we can have the full experience.

    Final Thoughts

Gameplay: A more user friendly UI brings Ground Zeros into the realm of modern shooters, making for a more enjoyable experience. A well designed Fox Engine provides a smooth and tactical approach to level design and controls.

Appearance: With stunning visuals and excellent camera work, Ground Zeroes has a great combination of cinematic flair, while keeping the gameplay looking just as great at all times. Shadows, character models, and even weather affects all look amazing.

Sound: Borrowing from the legendary James Bond films, Kojima and Co. provide unforgettable opening cinematics. Be it with original themes, or music from popular culture. Credit must be given to Fox Team for taking such a grand approach to opening titles. While in-game, combat and in the field operations are those of the best spy thriller films. While the game’s dialogue is among some of the best story telling in video games.

During the one to three hours it takes to complete the single player campaign it will be hard to not stop and look around and just be impressed.

Playing through the campaign a couple of times it becomes apparent that this game is all about choices, like most other MGS games you can take the stealth approach and be rewarded for it or kill everyone in your way and while you won't be punished, your final score will be lower.

The controls are still a little clunky at times, when you are prone and moving around, Snake has a tendency to do whatever he wants until you get used to it. At times it reminded me of the old tank controls for MGS on PS1 and it made me laugh.

If you are in this for just the campaign, you will be disappointed by it's length but there is a lot to see here with the side missions.

I really did enjoy this game for what it was, it's a preview of Phantom Pain, an expensive one at that.

It is short but sweet and it show's a taste of what's to come but unless you are in need of a MGS fix, it might be worth waiting for Phantom Pain and picking this game up a week or two before it comes out as it will probably be down to $15-20.

First I wish to address the argument of this game being a rip off. People seem to think the game is to short but they are only including the main mission during a speed run and speed runsare like watching the GodFather movies in 8 minutes by fast fowarding through it as in you can do that but if you do you will miss out on the story, secrets and small details that make it so good.

Ground zeros is a special kind of game that is able to blend gameplay from other popular stealth games and creates the nicest smoothie I've ever tasted. Ground zeros is a new form of evolution for the series as mgs 3 was an evolution from mgs 1 and 2. It takes mgs to a whole new open world finally allowing the player to tackle the mission as he or she wants by going guns crazy and killing everyone in sight which is quicker and easier or take a silent and non lethal approach which does take longer but will give higher scores for not being detected. The brilliant thing is that no matter how you complete the mission you will have a fun time doing it because of how well kojima seemingly blends the transition between hiding, being found and escaping the enemy so well similar to the Arkam games. Not to mention the graphics look the best out of all the next gen games so far but thats not important

Now I will talk about that value of the game and tell you if it`s worth it or not. Now the best way to do this is to compare it to other games and see how well it compares to higher priced AAA games. Now let's take CoD the once great an innovative franchise now a dying money cow being milked by Activision and compare it to ground zeros. CoD is £50 and it provides boring story along with a repetitive, idiot filled multiplayer that offers nothing new to the franchise. Ground zeros however provides an interesting story with lots of interesting lore that encourages the player to explore and find cassette tapes to find out the backstory of certain characters. The gameplay is well designed and the quote from kojima when he says "If you got ten different people to play the same mission you would have ten different stories" Couldn't be more true.

There is one problem that I had with the gameplay and that is the new reflex mode that has been added. Having this on is something I would recomend if you are new to mgs and want to ease into the franchise. But if your a fan of the games then turn it off. For me it takes away the panic and fright of being spotted along with that alerting sound that let's you know you dun-goofed. All of this is removed when reflex is on and I was originally only going to give it a 9 for this but kojima once again pleases all with the option to turn it off in the options.

My overall opinion if this game is that it's a heart racing stealth game, wonderful action along vame with the help of the awesome CqC from peacewalker and a cool story that has already spawned many fan theories.

Here's to you kojima for once again creating a masterpiece :)

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Bought this game expecting another great installment of the Metal Gear series and played through it in under a couple of hours. After watching the several different cut scenes and wondering when there would be another playable section... There wasn't.

In the only main mission offered, you fight through it to get the best time possible and if you actual get caught there is little to no hope of getting a decent time or score. The graphics were amazing, the AI was awesome, and the play style was what you come to expect from these games. The only thing lacking was paying half the price of a brand new game for nothing more than one mission and some side missions.

I suppose that I knew going in that it wasn't going to bed a full game but I still hoped on more than one mission. Maybe half of a real game for half the price?

The one upside was that I cannot wait to play the next game and will have it the day it comes out. That final cut scene makes me want to know more!

So all in all... Great graphics, great story, but not worth the money. 5/10 from me...

It is the typical good stealth action game that you expect from a Metal Gear Solid title. The presentation is excellent and graphics and sound are also really good. It must make a warning however there is some content here that is unsavory and can make you feel ill. It would not be added if this was made today. First of all, I am a fan of MGS series. I didn't play all the games, but really excited to know that MGS V is about to release. So you can imagine my (and not only mine) surprise when I saw THAT. People can call this by different names, but definitely it cannot be called the GAME. But now I don't want to speak about how short this game.

But now I don't want to speak about how short this game. I don't want to tell again and again how unfair to pay $40 for THIS prologue/demo. Something happened to the game creators at the world, unfortunately including these gigantic game producers like Hideo Kojima. They, for some reason, began to lose. Something what they have earned by hard-work, something what can not be returned by simple ways - their REPUTATION. And if KONAMI allows itself to publish the game in state like this, so we, the gamers, can understand just one thing - it's not about the reputation, unfortunately it's all about the money...
Let's leave that behind. There is still some technical/game problem that make the game even worse:
    1) When you move the weapon sight from side to side, sometimes the sight just jump to the left or to the right or you see TWO sights together until you don't even know where you gonna shoot.
    2) Have you ever seen in some game that your suppressor can worn out??? Oh, yeah. In this game you can hear something like this :" Now your suppressor worn out, so think before your shoot". Any logic???
    3) Map - reaaalllyy could be better.
    4) HUGE FPS drop when you inside the tank and using fps mode.

Well,of course there is many positive things like AMAZING graphics, incredible sound and spectacular actors playing, but anyway, there is some smell of "we payed for the demo and this is f...ed it up"...

The last time i played an MGS game was quite a few years ago, and its great to see how this prequel to MGS the phantom pain has expanded the options for how you approach each of the missions. Run in guns blazing or take the more stealthy approach. That's where this game shines. The stealthy approach offers a lot of opportunity for creative play.

Unfortunately, after a few play through's you start to wish for the expanded arsenal promised in MGS phantom pain. This game just serves to whet your appetite for the next release. And thats where it loses points for me. For all its got going for it, its just missing alot to be called a full fledged release.

If you are like me and are looking to sharpen your MGS skills and see how far this game has come, then pick this up. Gameplay is solid enough that you don't really have to know much about the story.

The story had me stunned and all I could think at the end was "why would you do this to me Kojima, you beautiful bastard". 4 hours it took me to play the story mission and listen to the tapes, so it is rather a short game if you judge by when the end credits roll. If you think about it though, at the price of £10 (Ill admit it was more than that in the past and even now) 4 hours is just fine. And did I mention after that I am only 7% complete with the game? So yeah..."short".

I dont think that the price point should be taken into account when reviewing this game, rather a comment on the content should be provided (btw I chose to wait until the game came on sale for $13.50 rather than pay $40 at release). Excellent graphics, the lighting and rain look amazing, seriously one of the best looking titles i have played so far on the ps4. The controls feel alot more fluid than the last metal gear i played (MS4), which i found clunky in the extreme. The narrative content is typical Kojima fare, which some people dont gel with and while im no fan boy i enjoy. Overall i think its excellent, as a preview for metal gear five, i have gone form being indifferent to the release to keenly anticipating it, i will def be purchasing it now based on this brief gaming experience. I would have been disappointed to spend $40 (here in australia) for a level i could blitz in 10 mins, but that cant detract from whats being presented, which is although short an excellent gaming experience, its a real shame to see the user score of this game drop to well below what it should be when reviewers only gripe by and large is the price they paid for the game and not the experience itself. So I played it for basicly free. I completed the campgain in about 1:30 hours with stealth. I thought that it was worth 7 bucks. But then there were the 5 side-ops. And MAN they were fun. Don't listen to the guys saying it's all one tiny map because it's not. Sure you may see it as small if you were to look at it from above but there is so much detail and depth. I completed the side-ops with about 1 to 1:30 for each one except the VIP rescue sand that got me up to 8 hours with a replay of the main mission doing it loud. It also runs great on pc with not ONE lag spike. It also never went below 60 FPS with a GTX 770 an Intel i7 3770 3.2 GHZ and 8 GB of RAM on ultra. So get the game if it goes below 11 dollars. Graphics are good and the voice acting too. I spend most of my time hiding, trying not to be seen. Once I discovered that you can just run past your enemies and that they'll eventually lose sight of you, it was a piece of cake.

The graphics were excellent, the cut scenes and gameplay fluently roll between and unlike previous games, it doesn't make you sit through huge chunks of cut scenes, another pet hate from the older ones.

Let me just start off by saying this game was extremely short, way too short. I know this is just a prequel to the actual game Metal Gear solid V: Phantom Pains coming out in 2015. But this was not even worth the money. The graphics obviously seemed pretty good, but for such a famous franchise, and to be on next gen, it just looked so rushed it's like they didn't even care.

After the masterpiece MGS4 (which is my favorite game of all time) I thought that there would be no new MGS games (mainstream anyway.) So when i heard of a new game, including the prelude game, ground zeroes, i did a double back flip.

Now, one thing that i must get out of the way, that every reviewer is going to bring up, the length. Yes the game is short. Yes, i beat the main mission in a matter of an hour. That doesn't mean i didn't enjoy it. I actually very much enjoyed it. It offers much more refined gameplay than any metal gear solid game that i have ever played, which i hope MGS5: the phantom pain can improve upon even more.

The game is also highly replayable in my opinion. No, not for the collectibles, but for the immense amount of choice there is. You can choose what route you wish to take to infiltrate the base. You can sneak in, you can go in guns blazing, you can snipe from a vantage point, you can recon, there is just so much variability here.

There are also some side missions, called "side ops" here. They offer some great variation and extra content. On the downside, they use the same tired map from the main mission. It would have been nice to see some other locations. Another thing i must bring up is the price. The full retail price is 40 dollars, but i bought it a few days after launch for 30 dollars, paired with a PS plus discount.

Ground zeroes is a taste of what is to come in phantom pain. I just wish they would have had this as the prologue of phantom pain instead of selling it as almost full retail. Would i recommend it? mmm, only if you can get it a discounted price, or if it's free on PS plus. 7/10

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Hearing Sutherlands voice coming out of Snake's mouth is infuriating. While there is an excuse for this in Phantom Pain, it doesn't fly here. Kojima used the same Japanese voice actor consistently. Perhaps this a cultural difference, but he didn't understand how english speaking audiences associate the character with the voice actor. Additionally Snake doesn't behave like Big Boss, but rather a selfish Sutherland who's creative input is to 'seem cool' not by acting cool, but by making other characters idiotic. The idea that anyone would follow this man is ludicrous.

If you don't care about any of that - MGS has the best stealth gameplay of all time, hands down, & this is an excellent demo for The Phantom Pain.

Back then you would get a monthly demo disc of all the latest and greatest games for the price of the magazine (I think was like $7.99 or something). It was a great basically free DEMO. It's unfortunate that the game industry has led us into greed the way it has charging a demo for $20+. It would have been nice if konomi had released it on PSN for free the way Destiny did. This game is a demo as you can see and as such should be bought at Gamestop and then within seven days returned after you beat the 1 hour or so game time for full refund. That's really the best you can do. It is a good way to get used to the controls and gameplay used in Phantom Pain but beyond that it's a scam. With that being said, the story is hard to follow and kinda half assed compared to the original (and Sons of Liberty demo) which really just played the beginning of the full game. There was really no reason for this game to be made!!!!!! it could've just been in the phantom pain, i honestly think it was made so that big fans wouldn't have to wait to long but it's starting price at $40 is insane!!!!! i beat it in like 45 minutes and some people have beaten in 6 no lie, as it starts to get fun it just ends, this should be free don't buy just watch a you tube videoThere was really no reason for this game to be made!!!!!! it could've just been in the phantom pain, i honestly think it was made so that big fans wouldn't have to wait to long but it's starting price at $40 is insane!!!!! i beat it in like 45 minutes and some people have beaten in 6 no lie, as it starts to get fun it just ends, this should be free don't buy just watch a you tube video walk-through or something. The only reason why this review isn't a major 10 is because of the length.

I don't find it acceptable to launch basically a demo for 30$. If it was free, I would've praised them continuously until the launch of the full game. But this, this is just being greedy. Yes, it may take a few hours if you do side-missions, and it will probably take even 10 hours if you spend 8 hours looking

Yes, it may take a few hours if you do side-missions, and it will probably take even 10 hours if you spend 8 hours looking at the sky, however, at the end of the day, it's a approx. 1 hour game, and it should be called a demo (and be free) if you ask me.

The game is amazing. The gameplay is well designed and complex, the graphics are flawless, and the story is interesting

First things first, some people complain it is a really short game and that it is not worth the money. Well, for me it was free as a PSN plus game so I don’t really feel that way, I must say though that if you just want to focus on the main story it will last you a couple of hours tops (quite a bit more if you do secondary pointless stuff), so I guess that is not great and some of theFirst things first, some people complain it is a really short game and that it is not worth the money. The good thing about this one, basically is that for me it feels like an old MGS with improved gameplay. The mechanics are quite clever and I think it is really fun to play. And this game is story driven, what do I mean by this?, well MGS have always been games where you spent a lot of time looking at cut-scenes or listening to conversations over the codec/radio etc. This one feels like that, and I don’t think it has lost that essence. I am commenting this, because at the moment I am half way through MGSV and I must say that one has lost that story-driven game essence MGS used to have, and in my opinion is a shame. Well, you won’t find that in this one.

I liked this prologue game a lot more than MGSV; it is well worth some money if you find it cheap.

es una simple misión, con un único mapa sumamente pequeño, para obtener el 100% en el juego te obliga a que hagas las misiones secundarias ya que en la principal no te dan todos los cassets, y HIdeo ahora es parte de una misión.

This is a playable teaser even before teasers were a thing, story wise a prequel to the Phantom Pain, and solid, FINISHED content.

The best game of the series, maybe one of the best games of the world. Tactical at the best, one of the best tactical games. Worth the order, buy this game. Metal Gear is one of the best series in game history.

Metal gear solid Ground zeroes is a pretty good (if you get that reference) video game.

Sure, its irritating length makes it look like a full priced demo which definitely portrays how Konami is milking the series for every penny. But it can be as long as YOU want it to be. I'm aware that some people have done speed runs of it in less than 10 minutes but then again, I've seen 100 hour

I'm aware that some people have done speed runs of it in less than 10 minutes but then again, I've seen 100 hour games such as Skyrim beaten in 1 hour! There are multiple side ops and cassette tapes, character info for you to be informed of characters and there are multiple difficulties for you to be playing for months on end if you were dedicated enough. However i will not defend this game in any way as it claimed me as well as millions of other loyal Kojima die-hard fans as part of the insensitive and opportunistic Konami capitalist hierarchy as nothing more but an expendable customer to be given the middle finger. It is not worth a full analyses as it is not a game. There are certainly good aspects of this "thing" such as its stealth and mature themes and story but to be honest, these aspects are expanded upon and perfected in the sequel which takes hours upon hours to complete for anyone.

This game is not worth your money in any aspect (even for renting it) as you might as well watch a playthorugh of it or even better, buy the sequel if you want.

A Fun little sandbox . I am going to say for 100 Danish Crowns this is of good value If you played more times than just one. If we just talked about the main mission with story then no it's not worth it But if you play it like in a Acade game when you try to get better and better scores on it and try to complete it them all on the highest difficulty then it's worth it. Es un excelente prologo, lo malo es que te lo cobren por aparte del juego completo, pero no deja de ser un excelente juego, lo disfrute mucho como abre bocas para el the phantom pain

The epilogue of the main game. The game has a well done stealth mechanics, even without revelation. Remember the stunning setting of the two scenes. One minus is still there - very short

It was too short and cost too much. However, the map is perfectly designed, the story is good as are the characters. The main mission is fantastic, as are the Jamais vu and Deja vu extra ops. The saddest thing is that I enjoyed it more than The Phantom Pain

    Final Verdict: decent

There might be an interesting game in this engine, but it’s not here, not yet, and as a result Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes is at best a very expensive demo that should only be approached with the lowest expectations.

Newbies will be lost, veterans not satisfied. It’s firing on all cylinders but the rounds don’t last. Nice showcase of the new engine, though. [Issue#241]
