The main problem with this compilation can be summed up in four words: Mega Man Anniversary Collection. Released back in 2004, MMAC not only includes Megaman 7 and 8, which this collection lacks, but it also has a metric ton of other bonus features including two more unlock-able games never before released in the US. Used copies of that collection cost less than this one.

MMAC doesn't have the graphical problems MMLC has; on this newer collection the colors are washed out compared to the original games. Reds in particular seem to be problematic throughout. Oranges have a tendency to trend toward yellow. It's not game-breaking, but it is noticeable and bothersome.

For this being a legacy collection, it's actually rather disgusting. Yes, you get Mega Man 1-6, which honestly, does simply leave out one bad game and one mediocre game. However, there is simply nothing else to it. No artbook, no soundtrack, no behind the scenes garbage some people love. Nothing extra at all. Simply a waste. of time, but hey... it is still Mega Man. And yes, there are a 'few' extras, but nothing physical. Expand

Avoid the save states if you can - if your blood pressure can take it. [Nov 2015, p.80]

Sort of a Megaman encyclopedia, even if it's missing some chapters, and a fundamental collection for any fan of the franchise. Obviously a great buy even for those gamers who are just searching for some good old challenge. Fans of the Zero series will unfortunately have to wait for another collection.

Despite a few bugs and sound glitches, Mega Man Legacy Collection is an outstanding compilation of some of the best platform games in history.
