This is the 6 original 8 bit Megaman's. It is the original games from the original code, with the original bugs. Which means it also has the original exploits and codes. If your a true Megaman fan and want the game from back in the day on your new console, this is perfect for you.

Don't be fooled by the negative ratings. 5 of the 6 negative reviews come from the same 2 people.

Don't be fooled by the negative ratings. 5 of the 6 negative reviews come from the same 2 people. Apparently they bought it for the PS4, then went and bought it on the PS4. Then one of them bought it for the PC and surprisingly hated it there also. That's assuming they bought it at all.

Also the negative reviews fall into 3 areas, based on unrealistic expectations. Some wanted the 10 bit games. Which they knew weren't coming in this collection. But might come as a DLC if this does well. The other admitted there were small timing issues only a hardcore Megaman Savant would notice. And then there is the Mixed reviews that wanted the game to be updated for today's gamers. Which would be a waste of Capcom's time and resources. Since the original maker of Megaman made "Mighty #9" which is launching next month and is basically a modernized Megaman.

Another positive review stating to ignore the negative reviews. I own these games on NES and have played 3 of the 6 as recently as last week. Further, it is $15 for 6 games. You can't buy them on NES for that. You can't buy MegaMan 2 on NES for double that in good condition.

10/10 would buy again and would have paid more for it.

Everything you remember from this franchise is still great, the music, the graphical style, the challenging yet rewarding gameplay. However, save states are a godsend for this re-released collection; progressing in areas you’re feeling stuck in became easier and made it a better user experience. The game is fun and highly replayable; there are many different ways to play. The downside is these games are all generally the same. With small additional adaptations such as the Slide, Rush upgrades, Charge Buster, or the Jet Pack. They’re generally the same game with the same concepts, not to mention these games originally came out yearly; like the Assassin’s Creed of the late 80’s. With a focus on, as Egoraptor would put it, “Jump and Shoot” Mechanics each of these games only take three hours to play through. So in total, it’s eighteen hours for a twenty dollar game. It can be a lackluster experience of rinse and repeat if played for too long in one sitting, but for the price, I think it’s a great gaming experience for a great piece of the media's wonderful history. Play this game in short bursts. Mega Man Legacy Collection 1 gets an 8/10 Expand

¿Te parece divertido no usarlo?

    ---------
    MEGA MAN: 7.5

    MEGA MAN 2: 9.5

Wily Stage 1. Pero dejándolo de lado, ese Woodman uff.

    MEGA MAN 3: 8

    MEGA MAN 4: 9

    MEGA MAN 5: 8.5

    Cons:

-Having the flickering problems from the classic versions from the nes (this could be use for authentic reason. to make you feel like your playing the originals. Or you could look at it as them cheeping out.)
Overall fun. Something to hold over while the big releases come out.

For me I will go down the middle and say 8. Since coming back to gaming i love these kind of difficult and challenging games, requiring learning patterns and skillful play. It's 2D platforming, pretty basic, but really hard. God knows how people completed Mega Man 1 back in the day with no save feature- they can't have had time for a girlfriend anyway. I just completed it thanks to the addition of the afore-mentioned save feature which is an absolute life-saver. It's a great package of old-school nostalgia, and will make you feel like a man when you finish it- just don't start with number 1 like I did. A Mega Man fan website told me when I was halfway through that it's best to start with 2 and go to 6, then do 1 last, I would say that's good advice, and there's help online for boss weaknesses and tips if you are struggling. Neither my friends or I have the original consoles for the Megaman games so I have had zero experience with it since I was about 8. First, I'd like to say that these games are very hard if you do not know the order in which to complete the stages. In some cases, the stages are seemingly impossible unless you have a certain power-up or are a seasoned Megaman pro. Defeating certain bosses can also be made a breeze with the right power-ups as well. That being said, these games are challenging but overall fair. Seemingly cheap deaths are apparent but I quickly realized that these deaths were usually a result of my mistakes involving timing, positioning, being an idiot, etc. With enough practice, you can go from barely completing a single level to seeing how fast you can run through the entire game. My only big concerns are that the game lags in certain instances and you can only have a single save file for each game. This is a problem when you live with several people who all like to play and save their personal progress. Overall, I highly recommend this collection for someone who wants to get a blast from the past and experience a series that has been entertaining people for 20+ years. Expand

Theres plenty of Content to be found in the Collection, especially if youre a Fan of the Source Material, as there are tons of Extras like a Gallery and stuff like that.
Its also a Kind of letdown that the Legacy Collection only consists of MM 1-6.
Wheres MM7-10??? What about the MMX Series? The MMZ Series? And the Battle Network Series???
I mean at least they shouldve put MM7-10 in it, since 7 is only on the NIntendo VC and MM8 is one hell of hard to get game, and the Absence of 9 and 10 hurts especially since they are so reminiscent of those NES MM games.
Why Capcom is Holding back MM7-10, all the Xs and the others is beyond any understandig and a huge disappointment for every Fan.
This package is well worth every Cent its Price, six lenghty games with Extras for the dedicated Fans, most of those games being awesome to good, only one game being just mediocre (the first one imo).
Its just a shame that Capcom left out so many games that are important to the series, especially the classics 7-10.

MMAC doesn't have the graphical problems MMLC has; on this newer collection the colors are washed out compared to the original games. Reds in particular seem to be problematic throughout. Oranges have a tendency to trend toward yellow. It's not game-breaking, but it is noticeable and bothersome.

This was especially noticeable in the Heat Man stage where the vanishing blocks appear to cross the wide chasm. The issue kept nagging me so I unpacked my ancient NES and original MM2 cart and went to the same spot. The timing is, in fact, slightly different than the original. Most people probably won't notice but for someone who has played the game more times than they care to count, a third to half second difference is bothersome.

The issues don't end there: The typical NES "flashing textures" issue exists but they're markedly worse than the original. Case in point - Wily stage 4 in MM2; the crash bomb mental test. The flashing textures are SO bad on the legacy edition that it often makes the fired pellets completely invisible until you've killed 1 or 2 of the turrets. Again, I compared this to the original NES version and, while the flashing texture issue was at its worst at that point, it was nowhere near as bad as this edition.

What this edition seems like is a plain jane emulator with a new GUI front end, only they couldn't quite figure out what to do when the games were running faster than normal on the newer hardware. So they manually tweaked the speed which causes the slight time delays and increased texture glitches. Anyone who has played with emulators on their PCs and tweaked speed settings will know exactly what I'm talking about. These problems exist in the first three games (they're all I've played thus far) so I feel it's safe to assume they'll exist in the other three games as well.

The challenges are OK, but not really worth playing more than once. The only praise I can give it is that the game doesn't crash and it's mostly playable, so long as you understand you're not getting an accurate port of the originals. If you ARE familiar with the originals, don't be surprised if you find yourself frustrated frequently

They didn't put the effort in to make these run as well as MM9 and MM10 did (both games which should be included in this collection, likely to be pieced off later on Steam though). All the slowdown and sprite-flicker you remember is there. They said they left these in for accurate emulation purposes, but let's face it, they did it because leaving 20+ year-old games as-is is less work than recoding them to make them run at a consistent framerate without sprite flicker, and then making the "legacy" features optional.

Oh, and there's a bit of delay with the controls compared to playing on an emulator, the Wii/Wii U VC, or original NES... it's minimal, but in a Mega Man game, minimal delay is pretty noticeable.

I played this on PC where you can get a full refund before 2 hours are up. Glad I went that route. Since you're on console, I'd heavily recommend a pass. Technical issues aside the only one worth playing is MM2, the first is garbage, 2 is good (not as good as 9), and 3 - 6 get progressively worse. Don't bother.

Mega Man is an incredibly annoying franchise because they make it intentionally difficult and that just makes people want it even more. It's sadistic. They could very easily add a mode for newcomers, with less damage and more lives, but they keep up with this insane and punishing formula.
