    Mixed feelings after completing the game.. Web-zipping is the best part of the game. Story is ok. Fighting is the worst part of game. Why the hell spider-man needs to punch average man 10 times until knock him down ? You don't feel like a super hero, you feel like a ****

Seriously, in order to upgrade your character you are forced to do these mindless "go here activate this" and repeat this to receive "tokens"...Who wants to do chores to "play" a PS4 game?

Felt like it was 1/2 a game.... as if they had no idea how to create an interesting flow to the story and just went for open world and fetch quests.     The graphics are nice but the game has no history, no gameplay, everything is like Batman but Batman was 2 years ago, so there is not innovation in this game. it is not trash but I could not finish it, I was so bored to repeat the same mission over and over and over. It is not must buy, just buy for 20 dollars and then it makes sense.

    The good thing about the game is the outstanding gameplay during the games actions sequences, which there are plenty of. Though its implementation of an open world is very poor and is lacking of enjoyable content. The map is riddled with side activates but unfortunately these are way to repetitive and simply not fun to do.     There is also something about the pace and the setting of the game that feels a little bit off. It feels like you are jumping from gameplay area to gameplay area without it feeling coherent enough which ruins the immersion. And the world itself, even though it’s pretty, feels un-interactive and bland.

    In the end this game suffers from a common flaw in games nowadays, it is way too shallow. The story is ok and the action is great but that’s not enough for me to praise the game with a higher score.    … Expand

    I love this game one day. Then i hate it the next. One day i could play it for hours unbored. The next i get bored on the loading screen. This is the most undecided i've ever been on a game

    Короче говоря: Паук - Отстой. Жаль потраченные деньги и время. Реально заставлял себя проходить просто потому что было жаль потраченные бабки. Плюсы: 1. Графон - реально крутой. В динамичных сценах или при недостаточном освещении картинка близка к фотореалистичной. 2, Битва с двумя боссами:    Смотрю на высокие оценки, вспоминаю хвалебные отзывы блогеров об этой игре и недоумеваю.

    Плюсы:
    1. Графон - реально крутой. В динамичных сценах или при недостаточном освещении картинка близка к фотореалистичной.
    2, Битва с двумя боссами: Носорогом и Скорпионом реально рассмешила до слёз. То как они пререкались друг с другом - было шикарно).
    На этом плюсы для меня закончились.
    Теперь о минусах:
    1. Тупой стелс - противники словно с повязкой на глазах в упор не видят тебя. Забывают о твоём существовании через минуту после обнаружения. Никого не смущает что рядом в паутине висит живой товарищ, никто не пытается его освободить.
    2. Бои - однообразные, ничем не примечательные. Проходил игру на стандартном уровне сложности, ничего не улушал из гаджетов, так как в этом небыло необходимости вообще.
    3. Боссы - лёгкие, скучные. А последняя битва с главным антагонистом доводила до бешенства своей кривотой: Порой невидно где что находится, маленькая локация из которой постоянно вылетаешь. А финальный QTE - отдельное убожество анимацию которого приходится повторять около 6 раз. Выглядит это крайне нелепо.
    4. Локализация- первое что нереально накалило: отсутствие выбора озвучки. Терпеть не могу наши локализации из-за их недокачества. Челопук не стал исключением. Игра актёров озвучки оставляет желать лучшего.
    5. Мини-игры - чуть не забыл об этой помойке. На протяжении всей игры нас заставляют проходить тупейшие мини-игры аля детские головоломки из еженедельной газеты. Хорошо хоть пропустить их можно спустя какое-то время. Я сел играть в экшн-игру а не ребусы газетные решать.

    После прохождения основного сюжета, я принялся проходить DLC. Но моего терпения хватило только на 10% прохождения первого DLC.    … Expand

    The Ending of the game and the boring story and side missions make you irritated sometimes.
    In this game I felt like I was out of Marvel , and this is not connected even a little bit with comics.
    The boss fight of shocker was frustating for me and the fight with DR.Octavious oh my god it is the worst. The side of peter needs to interesting rather than Boring.

    Juego que aburre en menos de media hora, mundo abierto sin vida y lleno de bugs. Puede ser visualmente impresionante pero cuando levantas la alfombra puedes ver que no es oro todo lo que reluce, y ademas con 3 dlc que han van a sacar acoste de recortar contenido. Asi Sony no,asi no.

Да, я тоже Sony boy, но не потерял способность рационально оценивать игры, а не лепить 10 напаво и налево. Прошел паука, ну собственно есть недостатки, и их много.

    Gameplay is extremely fluid, looks beautiful and the comhat is very enjoyable. Unfortunately it got boring and repetitive. The story didn't pull me in and the side missions just didn't match the quality of the actual gameplay itself. Tons of potential though through DLC but as a base game it lacks story and side missions. Only thing improved would be the adaptation of the Batman Arkham Asylum fighting system. The story is ok at best. Camera work is still an issue when swinging from location to location.     Well you surely will get tendinitis pressing square for the millionth time and the crazy amount of people you'll have to fight in this game. Why can't it be more relaxed and why didn't they have the option to increase you speed. This to me is a game with the same or similar physics and mechanics of Spider-man 2 for the ps2. The graphics for this game is amazing but man does it get too ridiculous plot-wise. Honesty its not a bad game but its like uncharted 4 where most of the game is intense and combat oriented and really doesn't explore too much on other aspects. I mean I understand the developers wanted to do things differently and they do but its very frustrating when the only way to increase your health is to keep fighting lol. Seriously like I know Spiderman heals up when he keeps moving and fighting but it doesn't make it enjoyable in the slightest.… Expand

Хорошие побочки должны или обучать новым механикам, или позволять узнать больше о героях, или расширить вселенную игры или показать новых интересных персонажей или дать хотя бы каких-то сложных боссов. Идеальный пример побочек - God of War. Там во время выполнения доп миссий мы больше узнаем главных персонажей через диалоги, мы познаем разные уголкиПобочные задания - курам на смех! Там во время выполнения доп миссий мы больше узнаем главных персонажей через диалоги, мы познаем разные уголки классно проработанного мира, мы узнаем про события которые происходили в этой вселенной, сражаемся с разными интересными врагами (в игру можно играть только ради сражения с Королевой Валькирий). А что в Человека Пауке? Нам надо разблокировать вышки, собирать рюкзаки разбросанные по городу и фотографировать здания. Я понимаю что задумывалось что мы так должны исследовать город. Но беда в том, что ВЕСЬ ГОРОД ОДИНАКОВЫЙ!!! Это один и тот же город!!! В этих локациях нет ничего уникального и красивого. Мне не интересно исследовать этот мир!!!! Что бы вы выбрали: освободить дракона в красивой уникальной локации или бегать по однообразному городу и фотографировать фигурки кошечек ? ни один нормальный человек не выберет второе!!!

    Все так хвалили боевую систему в Человеке Пауке. Да она выглядит весело. Первые минут 30. Тебе в бою не нужно думать ни о чем! Не нужны уникальные тактики для разного типа противников. Просто надо нажимать “квадратик”, “треугольник” и “кружок”. В любой последовательности! Не важно в какой! Вы все равно выиграете. А если вдруг нет - вам не захочется второй раз проходить тот же самый уровень. Потому что там с самого начала придется нажимать поочередно на “квадратик”, “треугольник” и “кружок”. Я развлекал себя как мог. Ловил ракеты паутиной, бросал предметы в противников, использовал все возможные гаджеты. Но спустя 10 использований любой из этих механик они надоедали! Потому что игре все равно как ты будешь играть! В God of War можно было подобрать уникальный набор умений для каждого противника. И подстраивать свой стиль игры под новый билд. И каждый раз игра чувствовалась по-новому. А тут… просто грустно.

    Босс файты в человеке пауке даже нельзя назвать босс файтами. Боссы в crash bandicoot и то более впечатляют. 25 часов игры в ЧП. Финальный босс. Думаю “ну наконец-то будет шанс использовать все навыки, полученные за последнюю неделю игры”. Пфф… Если бы. Все что нужно уметь что бы победить босса - стрелять паутиной (научились этому в первые 5 минут игры) и бросать предметы паутиной (научились примерно тогда же).    … Expand

    With a few exceptions, the characters were absolutely pale and interchangeable, especially the villains.
    And at some point I just couldn't stand Peter's constantly repeating "jokes" again. I know you can't really blame the devs for that, as Peter is probably just as annoying in the comics and they just kept his personality true to the original.

    As mentioned, the open world is visually very nicely designed. In terms of content, however, it is a disaster. You keep repeating the same repetitive quests. Either you have to stop criminals or you have to help Greenpeace. Yeah, I got the message, everyone can be a hero. But that's no excuse for letting us do such boring and ridiculous quests where we have to vaccinate pigeons and fish or have to clean the nearest chimney.

    The wasted potential makes me a little sad. As a consolation: The standalone add-on Miles Morales was way better.    … Expand

Regrettably, the game's various gadgets and power-ups unlocked throughout the adventure are mere extensions of already-established powers or provide extremely minor changes to combat's flow. Because of this, as great as it is, combat is stagnant and starts to feel repetitive towards the end of the campaign. The game world does an amazing job at recontextualizing the iconic characters and villains, establishing a new spider-man universe through both the main story and optional content: collectibles and side-quest might feel redundant at times, but do a great job at exploring the background of this peter parker and delineate this world's history, just as the crimes throughout the city, although a little repetitive and overly present, immerse the player in the role of super-hero. The story stays beautifully true to the spirit of the character, merging peter parker and spider-man's lives to craft an emotional story about hope and selflessness that involves both worlds and their intertwining struggles, with the player often taking control of the non-human characters to expand on the setting and immerse the player in the narrative. Alas, from a gameplay standpoint these segments are tremendously bland and simplistic, interrupting the experience's flow with abysmally tedious stealth sections.     You're probably here for the movement: the main draw to a 'Spider-Man' game will always be the ability to swing from rooftop to rooftop, and this really does make the most of that with how drawn out its missions are, how much they make you use it, and how much it overshadows pretty much everything else about the game. Other times you'll be busy fighting you're 90th horde of Saber officers, or escaped prisoners and realise that the gameplay is getting stale, but you're only halfway through the story mode. This is not a bad game, but at its best its a Spider-Man open game sim which shows what could be so much more in the future.… Expand

    Average all around the board. Not bad but nothing special. If you enjoy Spider-Man I’m sure you’ll enjoy the game. If you’re not a fan of Spider-Man then there’s not much of a point to play this game.

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. its too short has pretty poor writing and only like 3 of the outfits are good such as the black cat one over all i just didn't care much about the game the best parts are the black cat and the harry side stuff the main story on the other hand is pretty bad

    Gameplay wise its just a boring/easy button masher like games like god of war and those overrated Batman arkham games, webswinging and wall climbing can be pretty bad at times as well, pretty much try to stay away from the sides of buildings as its pretty janky.

    Character wise there okay aside from aunt May that is, she's so **** dumb and i'm glad she died nothing to really say about other characters tho there all pretty much fine nothing good or bad about them really.

    Story wise it's too short and none of the stories connect with each other and the side missions are better then the main plot which was pretty awkward to play in a post covid world.    … Expand

    Horrible.. horrible grindfest of a game. Catch all the pigeons to.. get nothing in return. Take a picture of 30 buildings! Activate 20 communication towers! Clear out 20 bases that have around 5 waves x 15 of stupid "bad guys" each! Beat 20 almost identical challenges! Complete 2.000.000 of "puzzles" for the mentally challenged 3-year olds! Exciting!
    Not. F*cking hell.. At first I gave this game a 5, but have lowered the score while I was writing this "200 word essay". I wonder if the score is low enough..

    Atrocious. Despite the amazing graphics, there is a lot of bugs and you can't release a game like that. And future updates shouldn't be an excuse. The game looks huge, but there isn't too much to interact with, like the way you do in games like GTA. The game is too simple and will age badly, very soon.

    I would've given this game a 9/10 or even a 10/10 for the main campaign because the game was stable, polished and fun to play with an amazing story. It was definitely my game of the year. Unfortunately I had the misfortune of playing the 3 DLC packs too and it ruined this game for me. The DLC was repetitive, annoying and just feels like a cash-grab.

    Realistically it's a 7/10 but the high rating and hype makes it sound like it's one of the best games of this gen so if you go in expecting that, be prepared to enjoy it but not to be super wowed.
    The campaign is also way too short. Even though the story was good, you expect a game that's rated 8+ to be memorable. Very fast and easy platinum but now that it's over it's forgettable.

    The campaign is also way too short. Even though the story was good, you expect a game that's rated 8+ to be memorable. Very fast and easy platinum but now that it's over it's forgettable.
    It didn't do anything new or game changing (no pun intended) to warrant all the hype.

    Incredibly beautiful Assassin's Creed clone. Don't expect to find many possibilities in the game, except the main plot it is only "go kill those bad guys, because they are bad". The map is filled with activities but do you really want to catch all those pigeons?

    The gameplay, oh boy. Combat is fresh at first but grows stale & button mashing as 20 enemies all attack you at once because they didn't figure out a combat system for 1 or 2 at a time. It's hard to take someone out when you have to continuously dodge bullets, fists & rockets. Originally the game started out as though you’d be able to do combos but you never truly do. Your successful hits just add up to an x-multiplier that gives you a finisher move. The boss battles are some of the worst I’ve experienced; they don’t deserve the name ‘boss’. They are time-based, not health-based. Hit them down this many times, story progresses. Boring, just supposed to do same 2 moves each time. What's the point of all my powers I invested in? Of course they call in goons who proceed to mosh pit you & send rockets into your face. In the end you’re hoping for the bittersweet release from this awful battle that seems never-ending. I couldn't stop dying in one battle with thousands of powers and guns being tossed at me. Put out all four drones, battle was over in 10sec. What? How is that supposed to make you feel powerful? To mix up combat you have to use the different spider gadgets but you have to pull the radial menu open to access them which is disengaging. Not to mention there is next to no tutorial for how to do anything; swinging, how to use the gadgets to their fullest, etc.

    Story-wise it begins well like the gameplay but by 50% in you see no end in sight & are just crying to be done already. You take out Fisk in the first 15mins, leaving a vacuum for all sorts of new villains to fill but oh wait all the powered villains are locked up leaving us with a boring new villain where everyone uses the same sort of ability & his story doesn't make much sense. Not only that but by the 50% mark you send him to jail & have a prison fight where everyone escapes just so we can throw in more villains who are never established in this story. Best parts are with Peter & Doc Octavius but they are few & far between. “I should tell the doc to buy more of those little cheese squares.” Peter is finally a scientist or at least an assistant to Otto but you aren't in the lab very often and when you are you're doing pipe & matching puzzles (you’ll do this a lot!) You think that they’re setting up the story for a sequel to have Doc Ock but oh wait he’s in here too! At the flip of a switch Octavius turns from a caring individual who wants to help people & adores Peter to a raging psychopath. The story even says that the arms would affect a person’s mental state over time, the Doc’s happens in a few story hours. Norman Osbourne is barely a character (he’s mayor?). You see him off in the distance a few times, up close once where he barely seems to remember that you're his son's best friend. Octavius hates him but it's not fleshed out why. MJ’s character is completely wrong from the comics (she’s not Lois Lane). The ending was a complete flop. There was no real weight to it & all the possible emotion that could have been put into it, similar to the Spider-Man 2 movie, was non-existent.

    They do a good job of making sure you don't know how long the real game is (story missions) because you're forced to do cruddy side missions to unlock things. Story missions feel the shortest parts of the game. Times after story missions where Peter goes 'Oh I should make sure the city is okay.' & you're supposed to go do these side crimes aka filler before continuing. 1st DLC is decent, you get Black Cat which is a nice change of pace but the other two are hollow cash-grabs.

    Best part of the story and the game is Jameson’s radio show. His VA is top notch and sounds exactly like JJJ should. The shows are hilarious & the only part of the game I’ll remember for a long time.

    Overall I enjoyed my time with the first 50% of the game, it was fun swinging through the city & taking down bad guys with my many abilities & gadgets. But then the story just becomes cluttered with characters & muddled story & I just didn't have as much fun. Usually the battles descended into 'what am I doing?' or 'is the battle over yet?' I certainly don't think it's the greatest game (or even the greatest SM game) ever made. There are many flaws which detract from it & I don't see myself playing it a 2nd time. If you want to play it, buy the GOTY edition on sale. Or if you want better superhero games with amazing story, play Infamous 1&2 and the Batman Arkham series (particularly Origins).    … Expand

And it suffers from Spider-man being way too weak, similar to how in Batman games he will get beaten up by the average thug if you don't hit the right combo. You don't feel like a superhero as a result. It's even worse with Spider-man who is supposed to have super-human strength.

    Ultimately, the whole thing falls flat. Webbing around town for a bit was fun but limited in long-term gameplay. Other than that, if one likes the realistic characters or nice architecture like the nice cathedrals in town, then that's about the only appeal.    … Expand

Collect crap from your backpacks? It’s just busy work to make the game feel longer and adds nothing to the narrative.

    I absolutely adore the Batman games, everything about them, from the graphics, the story, the combat, even the grind, they’re absolutely beautiful, but spiderman feels like a cheap, wonky knock off. I can’t help but feel the people that praise this game have never played another sandbox type game, because this is all just reheated leftovers from every other game of this type that came before it. There is nothing new here, and what they have rehashed is so lazy and mind numbing I can’t even bring myself to finish the game. 30 hours, I gave it 30 hours and I’ll not give it one more.     Can and object swinging was a terrible idea and adds little to the game.
    Cobbling poor ideas from Arkhams like hacking and Ubisoft landscape unlocks was poor also choice.

    This developer could have done a bit more with this game. I suspect this was just bought and slightly reworked from the previous game.

    And killing aunt May. Why????? What for! There is no sense in her death whatsoever. It doesn't change Peter in any way as a character.

Chasing pigeons, taking photos and running through clouds LOL.. You can argue about the base capturing horde mode, but to me all it does is make the already repeptitive combat, more repetitive.

    It really pains me to see how gaming has turned out to be today.. But what hurts me the most is seeing other games like Dragon Quest XI get overshadowed by casual trash such as this.     At first I did really enjoying playing. Enjoyed the combat system and swinging round the streets etc but the game got very repetitive and boring really quickly. Within a few hours you realise that apart from the boss fights the game was the same all the way through.

    This is a very bugged games. There are some many bugs that appears that really takes off the fun of it. This has more bugs than Mass Effect Andromeda at launch. It is a fast game two, less than 10 hours. The Downgrade was terrible, It showed on thing at trailer but it completely different in the ended.

    "Marvel's Spider-Man" is the worst PS4 game I've played so far. The story turned out to be - of all things, a *soap opera,* the graphics looked like worsened versions of the 2007-released PS3 game known as "Ratchet & Clank Future: Tools of Destruction's" graphics, & what are being called "the gameplay mechanics" were stolen from those of the Batman: Arkham series! Honestly, The main game's"Marvel's Spider-Man" is the worst PS4 game I've played so far. The story turned out to be - of all things, a *soap opera,* the graphics looked like worsened versions of the 2007-released PS3 game known as "Ratchet & Clank Future: Tools of Destruction's" graphics, & what are being called "the gameplay mechanics" were stolen from those of the Batman: Arkham series! Honestly, The main game's first main mission, & side missions were good, but after the first main mission, the game itself became such a soap opera, it was a heap of *trash.* Instead of making this game a soap opera, those Insomniac Games (More like, Sleep-inducing Games, because the majority of the main game *often* put me to *sleep,* by the way.) should've made Wilson Fisk the main villain, therefore, making "Marvel's Spider-man [PS4's" main story mainly about capturing *him!* Sort of like how "Batman: Arkham Knight's" main story was mainly about capturing the villain known as "Scarecrow" (though even that story could've easily been developed a lot better, if you know what I mean). As the majority of "Marvel's Spider-Man [PS4]'s" main story is, it's so insanely rushed, the "Spider-Man: The City That Never Sleeps" DLC/Downloadable Content could *easily* have replaced it. So whatever you do (if you haven't already), *don't* buy the game known as "Marvel's Spider-Man [PS4]," unless it's the labeled-on-the-disk's-cover/case "Game of the Year Edition," the one the comes with voucher codes that would allow you to download all three segments of "Spider-Man: The City That Never Sleeps" DLC for free.… Expand

    Whoever designed that should be tortured.
    Bad progression system - finish half the game(main story) at max level and get no upgrades in the other half (DLCs) while the enemies get harder to beat

    There are fun parts! The facsimile of Manhattan is great! Sure, they give up around 34th Street, you can't go to Brooklyn or Queens, but it's very cool. Taking pictures of the monuments and landmarks is great, but what's that, a couple hours? Climbing up buildings is great. Web swinging is great - certainly better than sitting in traffic in awful games like Grand Theft Auto. But it wears out its welcome soon. And travel is awkward. There's no Stop button. Every button does something, and that gets old _fast_. The combat is the same. There's about 20 different commands to memorize (until you upgrade your skills and there are 30) which, again, if you think sounds fun, go for it. The actual action of the game is Spider-Man jumping and dodging away from stock, faceless villains with bats and guns. About a quarter of the way through, they get nicer masks, electric bats and bazookas. You can't make this up. There's literally more variety of enemies in Mega Man 1 stages.

    Spider-Man's famous villains are all constantly mentioned, but you're... not allowed to fight them. You just hear about their alter egos in the story.

    Spider-Man feels half-done. New York is not fleshed out. You hear the same banter on the streets over and over. The crowds in Assassins' Creed are more realistic, and that was ten years ago. The game even tells you you're not supposed to be on the streets. Also who knew so many people were getting robbed on rooftops? And never the ones where there's a pool or a restaurant -- just the ordinary, boring rooftops. The story feels like a prelude to one where Osborn becomes the Green Goblin. The main villain here, Mister Negative, is just lame.

    I'm sure after all these "TEN OUTTA TEN"s there will be a sequel which somehow the critics feel has done the impossible and gone to eleven, or they will admit the faults then.    … Expand

The tone of his voice makes the dialogue more cringeworthy. None of that was funny to me. The only thing I found funny in this game is Insomniac's attempt at making a AAA Game.

    There is no multiplayer. So once you beat the game, this game will go back to the shelf collecting dust. I would have been fine with no multiplayer if this game had so much depth and content, like GTA V. Unfortunately there is not much to do, besides high fiving people. Charging $60 for a game with no replay value is a cashgrab. I recommend you wait for the price to drop to $10 or wait for it to be free on PS Plus.    … Expand

    Framerate is locked at 30fps, even on PS4 PRO. This makes the game feel slow and unresponsive. 60fps has been standard in gaming since the PS2 era. 30fps looks okay on film, where you don't have to control what people are doing, but 60fps is practically mandatory when you want a game to feel responsive.
    On top of that, gameplay is basically another Arkham-ripoff superhero game for combat but with more boring movement-less mid-air stuff.
    For Spiderman's web-swinging, the movement has a very dull feel to it. He shoots out of the web very quickly, but then his motion slows to a crawl about a quarter of a second after he lets go, meaning none of that fast-paced momentum based swinging like in Spiderman 2's movie tie in game. If air has the drag on a body required to slow it down that much horizontally, it'll have the drag on a body required to slow it down that much vertically, which basically would end up with Spiderman slowly drifting down like a feather or leaf. Clearly very stupid. Your physics don't need to be realistic, but if they aren't at least consistent, suspension of disbelief is impossible.    … Expand

    There are myriad good reasons why Marvel's Spider-Man is the best-selling and highest-rated Spider-Man title in years. While it has a few glaring flaws, they pale in comparison to all of the things the team at Insomniac got right. A well-acted, strong story serves as the backbone for an experience that just plain feels right for Spider-Man, and fans and newcomers alike won't be disappointed by this trip to the Spider-verse.

    This game does for Spider-Man what the Arkham series did for Batman. Immensely satisfying movement system, excellent combat, fast pace, superb visuals and wealth of side activities converge to bring a wonderful experienced, diluted only by some minor missteps in the story and a couple of stealth sequences where you control supporting characters instead of Spidey.
