The game has an interesting gameplay, but it becomes repetitive over time, the missions end up becoming more of the same and you lose interest as you progress through the game.

Sem dúvidas é um game que deve ser jogado, especialmente por aqueles que são fãs e querem ver seus heróis em ação, principalmente se gostarem de ação frenética, mas infelizmente não dá para esperar nada além do que já mencionei.

Overall enjoyed the game tho i wish the game would let you pick character outfits anytime no matter if you're playing them or not,set them to outfits based on what type of mission there on if one at all and also stopped forceing them into new outfits that you can't change right away they also don't always stay in the outfit you picked in cut scenes also Ms marvel's Mystic Marvel outfitOverall enjoyed the game tho i wish the game would let you pick character outfits anytime no matter if you're playing them or not,set them to outfits based on what type of mission there on if one at all and also stopped forceing them into new outfits that you can't change right away they also don't always stay in the outfit you picked in cut scenes also Ms marvel's Mystic Marvel outfit bugs out in the final boss fight. Also why does Nick Furry start telling you how to play the game as if you just started playing after you already beat the game?

Costumes and mud: First off i love how your charcter gets covered in mud, not every game does this and even the ones that do rarely look as good as this, as for the outfits tho most of Ms marvels are pretty good i either don't like the way thay look or they don't fit the vibe i'm going for there's really only two i'll end up using Mystic Marvel for a homemade look tho her hair does clip threw her hood, over all i really like this one a lot , and Event Horizon for a "real superhero" look also shoud be noted that her bag clips threw her chest for most of her outfits i'm really not a fa of clipping in games and these would have been easy to fix if they second checked to make sure the outfits didn't clip but not a big deal it just pisses me off a bit seeing clipping like that.
I'm not really feeling any of the Hulk's outfits none of them really vibe with me or are just bad.
The only Iron man suit i really like is jet stream the rest are either meh or bad.
Black widow has two that i really like black and white and super spy.
Most of cap's outfits are pretty good shockingly, he does have a few bad ones but out of all the characters cap has the most good outfits and tho i should hate avenging archer for looking dumb i low key love it it's like he's making a statement now that hes back or something.
Thor's are kinda meh no real feelings for any of them.

Story: Fine there's some dumb stuff that happens and some cringe moments but over all it's fine, there's one pretty cool moment early in the game were you're being chased by the Hulk that was fun.

Gameplay: Tho i'm not a fan of button mashers as there all pretty easy no matter what difficulty you're on, but this one is actually fun with the right character and way more fun then the arkham batman games, marvel's Spider-man and the god of war games, yeah i just pissed off a whole lot people with that but it's true this game is way more fun even tho it's just a button masher.

Combat: Ms.Marvel good,Thor pretty good but pretty awkward in his part of the final boss fight,Iron man okay but awkward ,Hulk pretty good,Black window not grate but not too bad ,Cap pretty good, Hawkeye haven't played yet, Kate haven't played yet, Black panther haven't played yet,Mighty Thor haven't played yet,Spider-man haven't played yet,Winter Soldier haven't played yet. (Will update as i play them)

Platforming: The platforming in this game **** sucks and the floaty jumps don't help. Also why is Cap the only one who can wall run the fact that characters like hulk can't wall run and just stick to walls is really dumb.

Puzzles: All puzzles are easy in a good way but some aren't always clear and doing them solo is a bit of a pain since the ai don't help nor can you tell them to stay put.

Bugs: Enemies like spawning in walls/getting stuck in them sometimes even just falling out of the map not off of out of also Ms marvel's Mystic Marvel outfit bugs out in the final boss fight if you're wearing it.

I played the ps5 version. And I didn't think that I would like it at all, but if we leave the online part of the game aside, the story part was really enjoyable for me, although it was not at the first level, but it was the best game of the avenger series. In short, I can't believe that I enjoyed this disappointing game so much!

I got myself pretty invested, especially with the character of Kamala, someone I ignored since her debut in the comics. Unfortunately it feels like they got the license for ONLY the avengers, as throughout the story you barely meet any big comic villain apart from two or three,

Butthe single player alone was enough for me to see the gameplay loop doesn’t hold up for a game as service product. When you’re invested in the story you can manage to overlook a lot of the gameplay flaws, but when you begin to think the game was design to actually repeat that gameplay loop throughout multiple missions in a “games as service” mode, you realize it doesn’t work. If you’re just gonna be tasked with fighting hordes of generic enemies, only so you can fight a bigger generic enemy, for “no reason”, there really is no desire to continue playing.

So basically, TLDR, game has a very enjoyable campaign, but don’t really go for it looking for a great online mode. You can probably get a few kicks out of playing with some friends, but it will get stale pretty fast.

Having played through all the beta phases, finishing the campaign and starting up some multiplayer with friends in the Avengers Initiative post-game, the improvement this game has seen from its early stages can't be overstated. Although the game is an Avengers game at heart, the focal point of the story is centered around Kamala Khan and focuses on introducing this semi-new character (created in the early 2010s when Carol got her Captain Marvel revamp). To its credit, the story - while being your standard Marvel comics fare - has got some heart to it, and manages to do the unthinkable: it makes MODOK into something more than a hammy supervillain whose pinnacle of achievement was an appearance on the Marvel vs. Capcom 3 roster. However, the enemy designs run on the derivative side, and by the end of the game, you might be noticing if you played Ultimate Alliance 3 that the AIM trooper designs don't actually vary too immensely from those in MUA3, and the mechanical enemies such as Adaptoids feel very familiar to those who are used to seeing the designs of Marvel robots. Indeed, the artistic design never strays too far from familiar territory (with the excepion of each character's endgame Stark Suits, which are excellently-designed), and vibrant and memorable character, enemy and NPC designs are more the exception than the norm.

With that out of the way, the gameplay loop runs the gamut from predictable to amazing depending on situational context. In my experience, the open air 'Warzones' are where the game's best qualities lie, especially in multiplayer, and outside of some overzealous enemy respawning, represent the game's most enjoyable, stress-free experience. Side note: enemy scaling can be a bit strict, and there's obviously an aspect of power fantasy to playing a superhero, so if you ever feel like letting loose and enjoying yourself, absolutely don't be afraid of dropping the difficulty to Challenge I (although I recommend not changing the Campaign Difficulty to Easy unless you're truly struggling, as Easy difficulty goes all the way to making every attack blockable, which while a true boon for struggling players, can come back to punish players who will eventually want to jump up in difficulty and may end up being unfamiliar with which enemy moves to block/parry and which to dodge). There will be people who will want to play 'for the challenge', but the actual mechanical playstyle is in no way altered between difficulties; namely, the changes are in damage and power level. Higher difficulties do net better gear, but not so much that lower difficulties are punishing. So I would recommend playing around with all mission difficulties until you figure out which suits you best.

Now, the gear system: here's where one fault lies, but none so damnable that it can't be understood, as it's generally the same fault with every looter shooter and Diablo-like, even Diablo II itself. In general, your best bet is to auto-optimize your gear for the highest stats and scrap or bank the rest in storage. It can be a bit tedious in that way if you aren't used to looter shooters, but the smaller loot drop rate and inventory carry rate helps with that: generally speaking, gear is always scaling upward, and you can go quite a few missions without filling up a section of your inventory unless you're specifically hunting for gear. That said, the game *really* needs an auto-dismantle shortcut.

There is some weakness in the HARM Rooms and especially in the smaller Threat Zones, but the weakness is less low-quality gameplay, and more repetitive gameplay. And there is at least one main story mission with a boss that utilizes that infamous bad design choice of dropping waves of enemies to inflate difficulty, but the game does that far, FAR less than Ultimate Alliance 3 did, and I can actually only think of that one boss fight when it comes to it being done to the point of tediousness.

Best of all, while the prologue portions of the campaign are required, everything else is totally optional: if you only want to play for the campaign, you can. If you want to skip ahead to the postgame multiplayer-focused content, you can (but will admittedly start at a disadvantage). So, is it worth it? While I don't feel 100% confident in saying so, I at least feel more confident in saying than the gamut of reviews that claim 'worst game ever' or spend their time finding fault in the Metacritic aggregate system that many of us have already acknowledged. And I can say that if you're even a casual Marvel fan with a dedicated group of friends for multiplayer, 100% yes. As for everyone else, the game could at least warrant a rental to play through the campaign or a view through the campaign on a Twitch stream, but this isn't a knock on the game's quality. It utilizes some Uncharted-style scripted action segments, but the perjorative 'walking sim' does not apply here.

Its disappointing how uninspired everything is, from the tired, repetitious level design to the drab environments, nameless enemies and the unnecessary loot structure. Although each character has a fairly unique moveset, the combat doesn't have a good feel to it and the fights lack impact. The game also runs very poorly on the PS4.

Overall this is a very middling package and one that falls way short of the mark given the source material. Marvel's Avengers is a live service but I don't believe it offers enough compelling gameplay to warrant sticking with it.

It hits in a lot of areas though like for example the combat feels great playoffs as Thor feels like a god playing as Capture America or Black window feels gritty and spy like. All the characters have unique fun movesets and if you like superheroes you'll have atleast a little bit of fun with this game. Problem is players leave and with an online game like this that's a big problem. I'll be honest I still boot it up once a day or so just to play as Thor because it looks and feels pretty awesome.

I came to this game last, as I was never drawn in by the hype, and as an objective observer, saw it for the trash fire that it was. I came to this game last, as I was never drawn in by the hype, and as an objective observer, saw it for the trash fire that it was. After being massively disappointed by Cyberpunk 2077, to the point of getting a refund from Microsoft, I decided to give a heavily discounted Avengers a shot. In the time I’ve had with it, I’ve been very pleasantly surprised.

This game is legitimately good. The characters all feel different, and grinding levels feels worthwhile and fun for each. The story was surprisingly well done, leaving me looking forward to all that is to come over the next few months and hopefully years.

This game is not worth 70 bucks. Or 60. Or 50 for that matter. But half off it’s felt worth it, for the fun gameplay and story alone. I hope this game has time to become what it should be. As of now, I think it’s around a 6, but I can imagine a version of this game that gets closer to an 8 or 8.5, with a deeper endgame, reworked loot system, and more diverse enemies and activities. There’s a fun video game in here somewhere, and if you get it at the right price, it’s worth it for sure.

I feel like the game will continue to improve. Addition after more time. Loot system is horrible, I am really getting sick of gear score level gating. Super heroes don't feel like super heroes. I hope they fix it but doubt it. Plus I feel like the new characters are going to be recycled move sets. I am very sad to see the game turn out this way. This is again proof that live service and rushing games out are a bad idea. Expand

After a beta that ended the game, and horrible mismanagement of the live service aspect. We are left with a game that has a fun, if underwhelming gameplay loop and a decent campaign story. Maybe a great pickup for the bargain basement bin when you want to get some of that marvel content in your blood (or watch the campaign played on YouTube instead)

Game is really good. Combat is what does it, every Avenger's has its own playstyle. So it does feel unique. And since there's 4 player coop, it's even better with friends. I don't get people saying negative about the combat, yes it can be a little unforgiving, in that you can be stun-locked into death -if you're not careful! So anyone complaining there; l2p.

Combat is good, there's this brawler combo-style combat, like dodge, then light attack to counterattack, and there's defensive mechanics. What they could improve on is the amount of skills, currently there's just 3 abilities per hero, that you can augment through the skill-system. And then after level 15 there's even more specialization. In which you choose 1 out of 3 augments to a skill or ability.

Story is alright, it does introduce you to the characters one-by-one, and force you into playing as one specific character for the story. Once you unlock the wartable, there's some missions, side missions, that you can pick whichevery hero you want. Else there's a choice between 2-3.

If you think this game is "easy", then you should play on "Brutal" difficulty for the story. And Challenge V for the multiplayer/side missions. I've yet to see anyone BREEZE through on those difficulties on Twitch or YouTube. If you have, please link me to where you have seen, or if you have recorded such gameplay. I'm interested to see if there's any hold to the arguments that this game is easy.

What this game get's minus for, from me, is the exclusivity stuff, consoles are prioritized clearly. Some movement things, like it doesn't move according to camera, but according to the character, which is a console issue thing when porting this to PC. And PC version doesn't have a chat, and default it's OPEN mike. But the MTX with costumes and battle pass are all fine. You get all characters and content that's coming with this title. So it's the store who will hold this up only with cosmetics. They get a huge plus for that.

Some missions seems to have the art and assets reused. But this is a solid title for what game is perfect on launch these days? It'll be better over time, right? Let's hope!

There are some great moments with some of the other Avengers and their respective story lines, but the main story is mostly a snoozefest and doesn't really draw the player in, save for a few moments here and there. But Ms Marvel's narrative is clear it stays focused enough to earn a 5/10.

    Protagonist: 5/10
Ms Marvel just does not cut it. She's full of the cheesiest quips that add absolutely nothing to the experience and she has the most boring super powers where you're literally just spamming the same button over and over to attack. Out of all the characters, she was by far the least fun to play as.

    Characters/Interactions: 6/10
Aside from Ms Marvel (and maybe Hulk too), the rest of the Avengers were actually a blast to play as, Iron Man being my definite favorite. Flying around using Tony's blasters and lasers was the most fun I had playing this game. Black Widow was awesome too with her dual-pistols and impressive melee combat. Cap's shield was pretty fun to throw around for a bit. Thor was not bad, but no different than playing as Kratos in GoW. Almost every attack was the same, the only difference being that Thor can fly. And playing as Hulk was basically just jumping in and spamming the attack button over and over. zzzzzzzzzz

    Villain: 3/10
    BORRRRING

    Editing/Cutscenes: 8/10
There are actually some pretty cool action sequences throughout this game. The ones that stand out are the Golden Gate scene at the beginning and some of the final battles towards the end of the game.

    Gameplay: 5/10
Like I said above, playing as Iron Man was a lot of fun. The rest of the game? Ehhhhhhh not so much. The gameplay just mostly felt like a watered-down version of Marvel's Spider-Man. Where Spider-Man excelled in its gameplay (which was excellent all around), Avengers really fails. The combat feels clunky, the finishers are unimpressive, and it just doesn't flow as smoothly as you'd like it to. And don't even get me started on the looting. It might be the most pointless looting system I've seen in years.

Just make it an Iron Man game and lets call it good. ;)

    Overall Score: 5.5/ 10

Sometimes it becomes impossible to complete objectives as enemies glitch right through the floor. The campaign itself isn't bad but it gives so much unearned time to Ms.Marvel. Personally I think she is ok, but the way she steals the story from the Avengers in their own game is straight up criminal. You can have some fun with this game switching between your favorite Avengers, but the action is repetitive and gets dull quickly. Also many characters feel awkward and not like themselves. That being said, I think this game is a missed opportunity. Had Crystal Dynamics made a full, expansive, engaging experience (like Tomb Raider), this game would be fantastic. They could even add DLC and expand the game in the future! When it comes to the Avengers, we would never get enough of it.

But no. Instead, they decided to transform this game in a 'service game', in the molds of Anthem, Destiny etc, making what would be a fantastic single-player game into multiplayer bullsh*t. Once you beat the story you access a never ending loop of grinding and predatory microtransactions. And this is quite sad, to be honest. This was supposed to be an amazing super-hero game, like Batman or Spiderman. But now, it's a cash-grab clone that preys on the player base. This game will be dead soon. And will not be remembered as "another example of an amazing hero game", but "that cash-grab avengers game".

The campaign is not co-op, there are a select few missions where you can have a friend playing; but mostly you are forced to play it SP - but that fits with the missions I suppose. Still disappointing nonetheless.

The game initially shines in MP - the Avengers initiative allows you to buddy up with three other players, AI filling up any free slots (unless you match make) and it works pretty well. SADLY, when you hit level 130 on your character - the game becomes a needless grind-fest, and you will quickly find resources to upgrade are getting scarce and upgrade costs become a joke!

Sadly, the game gets stale really really fast - there are only so many times you can attack the same objectives, on the same maps, getting hardly any loot; before you really have to question whether this is a good use of your time!

What started as a pretty decent game, is slowly but surly losing replay value for me.

As a looter game the loot you get doesn't seem to effect the look of your character, in some aspects I get they are paying homage to the original looks of the heroes but, as a person who loves to see what I've worked for it's a little frustrating.
And what drives me insane is the pure greed of this £54 title, not only do you have to pay for the game there are pay walls on cosmetics in game currency to get better gear to which I think is rather appalling considering the game isn't really that expansive in terms of level design and gear sets. What sets this game apart from other looter games is that the combat is really fun it does lose some of its charm as the game progresses but none the less fun.
If I was to buy the game again I would wait for a price from to about £30 I think that is the most I would pay if I had waited.

I really did enjoy the campaign and I liked that they made Ms. Marvel the main character here. But everything else just really doesnt click with me. But, unless they make wholesale changes to alot of the always online mechanics, then this game will never get any better then it currently. Also the microtransactions can go to hell. Expand

While there's a lot to like, the whole thing has a rushed and unpolished feel to it. I love the story of the campaign, all the voice actors did a fine job and the cutscenes looked really good. But it still feels like there are levels and scenes missing. It was nice to frame the story around Ms. Marvel and introduce her to people who haven't read her comics, but even with her front and center, I feel like they didn't show enough of her life before her journey begins. You're also not given a lot of time to breathe between missions and a lot of them end very abruptly. It shocks me because Square Enix has been so good at this with their Tomb Raider games, but Avengers feels like a cheaper unfinished knockoff despite its massive IP.

I would say the singleplayer took a generous 8 hours to complete, but I wouldn't be surprised if someone else beats it in 6 hours or less. Only about half of those missions feel necessary and thoughtfully composed with cinematic moments, while the others feel like storyless missions you'd play in multiplayer. That honestly really disappoints me because I remember articles stating it would take 18-20 hours to complete.

I will continue and try the multiplayer because I did enjoy leveling up my favorite characters. The combat is definitely repetitive, but I do like the fight animations, learning new moves, and stringing everything together against multiple enemy-types at once. It's not particularly deep gameplay, but all I really expected was an Ultimate Alliance style game except with a Spider-Man/ Arkham series aesthetic. My only major disappointment with the gameplay is that playing Hulk is a completely miserable experience. I could feel a difference and even some advantages with each hero, while Hulk just feels like an unsatisfying and ineffective button-mash. Black Widow doesn't even have powers but I feel like I kill things twice as fast with her.

I do have fun playing it because I love the Marvel Universe so much. All the easter eggs were really cool and I always enjoy seeing new interpretations of the characters. But if I view this game objectively, it's definitely mediocre at best and downright bad in some places. I encountered a lot of framerate issues and glitches that made me restart the game several times. I get that this happens with a lot of triple-A games at release, but it feels more jarring in a game where the content is pretty barebones. I'll probably max out Black Widow, Cap, and Thor because they're my favorite to play as, but after that, I'll set the game down until more characters and stories are added.

This game has its moments, the beginning of the story is charming and stirs up hype on what being a super hero is all about and makes you want to jump in as one of the main avengers the game launches with, and then it falls flat. The Avengers Initiative is supposed to be your standard online looter shooter; run in, beat up the bad guys, do a tedious meaningless task or two, get your gear, leave, rinse and repeat. As someone who plays warframe and played it at launch I genuinely enjoy these types of games BUT! The types of missions available are repetitive and stale after a couple of hours of playing. Stages are reused and don't allow for some of the Avengers to shine with their specific abilities, the objective has been recycled from other types of games (use warframe as an example) When in playing as Thor or Iron Man you're able to do really cool abilities but you're objective is to heat up a reactor or server? No cool animations for heroes with actual powers just punching and kicking at a random object. The enemies range in types and can flood you at certain points making you feel smothered and not so super hero esque. Although there is a multitude of enemy types they are literally only robots. The only humans enemies you engage with are in the beginning of the game and a few other types that teleport or fly. Other than that you're fighting robots the entire game. This game needs a huge overhaul fast before they lose the hype. Matchmaking is abysmal and you end up playing with AI because you're tired of waiting for the Avengers to assemble. The gear you collect doesn't have any physical appearance and really doesn't give you an incentive to keep replaying missions which is the entire point of a looter shooter games as a service game. Each hero has its own season pass type set up that you can either grind for by daily and weekly missions or just pay for (surprise) right now after playing since the day after it's launch I haven't unlocked one item for a hero in the free season pass. Grinding different hero's seems like a chore at this point and doing so will make the game feel more stale. Others have said it best, if you want to be an Avenger with friends buy it. If you want to feel like your doing meaningless tasks as a super hero in an unfinished game for mediocre rewards at a premium price this is for you. If the developers were holding out for next gen they should've done just that. I want to like this game and hopefully with the poor reviews and the fan feedback they'll update the game to play and feel like I am actually a super hero until then it's just not that enjoyable for long periods of time. But after you reach the Campaign there's nothing left. The multiplayer function simply serves no purpose as there are a limited amount of options left following the end of the campaign.

This game is still very buggy. Yes, it's mostly just funny visual glitches. But, sometimes, your allied AI will get stuck in the ground. Sometimes, your multiplayer partners will somehow launch themselves through an invisible wall.

This game should be global. It should feel global. This is the Avengers. Most of the maps are American focused with two outside. One being in Scandnavia, and the other being in Siberia. So, that's a bit disappointing.

No option to kick people out of your parties during multiplayer meetups. So, you always end up having to leave your strike team in order to get the party you want should you want to change things up.

It's by no means a bad game. But a $60 game? Not at this state. $30 sounds better with everything this game seemingly lacks.

On top of that the campaign is repetitive with such a basic story it’s just meh. The acting of the characters is the only thing to make the game bearable. Also the loot progression and unlocks is so bad. You can get a total of 64 credits a week. To unlock you’re hero card it requires 200 credits total. So you’d have to work for three weeks and a couple days just to fill up one hero card. The paywall is ridiculous they are super shady. On top of all that the cosmetics are trash buckets. I love marvel to death but they gave the keys to crystal dynamics and they dropped the ball so hard. Cosmetics you’re pretty much grinding for are reskins I mean for **** sake you have a rogue gallery of Avengers hero’s and instead of including iconic outfits they just decide let’s make the same outfit with just different colors and charge a **** ton of money to unlock them otherwise you gotta grind for a year to get everything. It’s a joke this game is trash and the only reason I’m giving it a 5 is because it has some fun gameplay elements. Graphics are no where near as good as say final fantasy 7 remake or last of us 2. Nobody wants a game as a service Marvel game. We just want fun single player experiences like Spider Man for PS4. I hope Marvel learns from this and they let a better developer make a GOOD game. I had quite high hopes as I loaded up Avengers for the first time, I had enjoyed the beta but hoped that there would be still a lot more to find out, and while there isn’t as much variety as I would like, the campaign is so much fun and definitely has replay-ability.

The game has one of the best beginnings of a game I’ve ever played. You are introduced to a young Kamala and have to find comics through out all the hustle and bustle of the A-day celebrations, now while I know this doesn’t sound to exciting, but what makes this such a good opening is Kamala, she is such a fangirl and personifies what everyone would act like in that situation. It makes the introduction to all the avengers so much cooler as Kamala loses her mind as they each talk to her. This is a thing that carries through the entire game and always makes you as a player think ‘Wow, I’m playing as the Avengers!’

Once this sequence has finished and you have played the A-Day mission from the Beta, is where I start to have issues with the first few hours of this game. The first hour of this game shows exactly how good this game can be with the quick transitions between characters and the awesome character relationship with the endless one liners and quips throughout the early missions. Then it strips it all away and gives you Kamala and Bruce, it’s disappointing that all of that potential is stripped away and you are given arguably the worst of the Avengers to spend the longest with.

This is the part where the game becomes a bit confusing because it’s clear that these style of missions, that are essentially capture the flags or destroy the objectives, it’s clear it is trying t gear you up for the multiplayer but you’re playing the campaign. It’s difficult because it’s clear they want to try and please as many people as possible but by doing so it never really commits to anything. The beginning of this game and the end of this campaign are as good as Marvel’s Spider-Man. It is story focused, great combat mind-blowing experience, but in the middle it tries to ween you into the multiplayer aspect which for me was rather annoying as I was trying to play the campaign not the multiplayer.

Besides the minor detour in the middle part of the campaign and the fairly frequent performance issues, which I wasn’t overly concerned by as most of this game is going to be on next gen consoles anyway, this is a really good game it’s going to take time to see how the game as a service part will perform but I will definitely play this campaign again on PS5.

I will do a separate review for the Avengers Initiative, the long term part of the game, a little further down the line as it’s difficult to see where it is going a week after launch,

The story of Avengers is pretty basic. The villain's motivations aren't that compelling and the plot is filled with basic story beats you can see coming from a mile away. There was only one "twist" that I didn't see coming, but it still wasn't enough to make me more interested in the story. Other than that, I found the story to be pretty boring.

    Gameplay/Missions: 5/10
The gameplay loop is fun for the first hour or so, it quickly becomes boring and repetitive. There isn't really any strategy involved in the combat. You mash square, triangle, and your long range attack while dodging sometimes to win fights. While every character looks different, they all basically play the same, besides Iron Man who has the most "unique" kit. This makes it easier to pick up the new characters as they join the team, but it makes the non-ability combat super bland.
The hero abilities are the only real thing that set the heroes apart. Every hero has 3 abilities that range in usefulness. Most of the abilities just boost your damage for a short time or lets you dish out a huge amount of damage in one flashy attack. The most varied in these abilities is probably Black widow, who can stun a cluster of enemies, turn invisible, and then get an electric staff for her ultimate. Every other hero basically just has a damage boost, a one-shot move, and an ultimate which does one of the previously listed. There are some exceptions, but that's basically it.

The missions in this game are as repetitive as the combat. Most of the time, you go to some big factory or some other kind of high tech AIM building and take down waves of the same bland robots you've been seeing since the first couple campaign missions. Speaking of, the campaign missions were mostly pretty boring. There were 4 really notable missions that I really liked; the opening A day mission, the Stark house mission, the mission where Thor appears, the Tony in Space mission, and the final mission. Those were all pretty damn fun and made me not regret the purchase. However, all of the other missions were decently bland, which is not good considering how all of the post-campaign missions are laid out almost exactly like them. I don't see a point to continue playing the game because of this. Besides to level up your heroes, there is no point. I will continue to play all of the hero updates, but for now I think I'm done with the game.

    Graphics: 4/10
On my base PS4, this looks like a late PS3 game most of the time. During combat, the screen is completely blurry and fuzzy. It's sometimes hard to tell whats going on thanks to the millions of projectiles being shot at you from all directions at 20 FPS, and that's another problem. There are CONSTANT frame drops, even during cut scenes. I have never seen a game released in the past 2 years look and perform this bad. Textures also pop in and out randomly. In almost every cutscene, there is a very obvious texture that is not loaded in. I even had a glitch where Captain America's face flapped all over the place when talking, making a serious moment of the game make me laugh at how weird Cap looked. When the very rare moments come when this game does run well, it looks okay. Nothing super impressive, but passable for this late in a console generation. I have seen some PC clips and the game looks amazing most of the time. (I would have gotten it on PC if it weren't for Spider-Man...)

    Other Notes and Nit Picks:

    1. The micro transactions in this game seem useless. They're there only to get impatient people to buy skins they can unlock by playing.
The cosmetics in this game are not the greatest. I only really like the pre-order skins and the final mission skins that make everyone look badass. I do not have any incentive to finish each heroes "battle pass", the skins just aren't that appealing to me.
The nameplates and emotes seem very out of place. You see the nameplates only in the menus and the lobby, yet they're things they want you to be motivated to get? There's really no reason for emotes to be in the game other than to have more useless stuff to jam into the battle passes.

    2. The voice acting can be a little weird sometimes. They're the same big actors from every triple a game, but it seems like the voices don't fit the characters. Kamala, Tony, and Bruce have passable VA, but the other characters just sat weird with me. Same with the character designs, they just look like knock offs of the MCU actors.

Overall, this game is a disappointment. I expected more from Square Enix. This game really isn't anything special, I would suggest only getting this game when its on sale.

Avenger's is the definition of missed potential, feeling as if up to a certain point the devs were trying to make an actually good, story-driven game but then threw most of it away in order to make a bland, generic, repetitive grind fest that is plagued with microtransactions, an absurd amount of currencies, an invisible and poitnless loot system and to top it all of the game runs likeAvenger's is the definition of missed potential, feeling as if up to a certain point the devs were trying to make an actually good, story-driven game but then threw most of it away in order to make a bland, generic, repetitive grind fest that is plagued with microtransactions, an absurd amount of currencies, an invisible and poitnless loot system and to top it all of the game runs like absolute **** - constant frame drops which don't make much sense considering it isn't exactly the most stunning visual spectacle out there.

GaaS problems aside, the actual Avengers feel like cosplayers - there is no diference between the impact of Thor's mighty Mjolnir, Hulk's fists and Black Widow's... poitny glowing sticks. Characters play more or less the same with very little genuine personality and that's perfectly in tone with the bland, generic locations you will visit and the bland, generic enemies you will face.

So is the story good at least? Not really - it feels like a decent, inconsistent and quite short (barely 8 hours) 6-issue series. There are some fun and quite exciting moments where you get a glimpse of what this game could have been but then you go straight back to the multiplayer prep which the story really is. Most of the characters are well-acted and look cool but the overemphasis on Kamala hurts the game badly - 70% of her dialogue is painfull cringe and the rest is just bland. There are a few convos between her and Avengers members that feel decent but it mostly feels like bad fan-fiction written by a kid who never got any attention in school. There are barely any villains - Taskmaster and Abomination are used for 5 mins each and never seen again and MODOK... is just MODOK, his origin here is cool enough but he isn't interesting as a character. Oh and Monica... you know Monica right? Yeah... Monica's here too.

Overall Avengers feels like a free-to-play game which should have asked 10$ for it's mediocre story and nothing more (considering the absolute robbery going on in the marketplace - pathetic). New Avenger characters might bring some life into this husk of a game but unless each one comes with his own 2-hour campaign (LEGIT CAMPAIGN, not the half-assed missions from the middle of the OG story), you're essentially swapping skins and that gives little to no additional content.

Avengers could have been so much more and still has the chance to fight it's way up to being a sort of good game if the devs play their cards perfectly post-launch, but as it stands right now, it's just a bland cash-grab that makes use of the Avengers license to mask a poor Destiny clone.

You will get some premium currency (Credits) by completing Hero Challenge Card or HCC (Battle Pass) with each character. Launch characters has them unlocked for free. You'll earn points to lvl HCC by completing Daily and Weekly Challenges.

New upcoming characters will have HCC locked unless you buy it for 1000 credits.

Save the credits u earn from doing HCC of the launch characters to buy HCC's for new characters

Marvel's Avengers has its moments throughout a 12-hour campaign but it ultimately falls short due to repetitive sequences, boring writing in some cases, and a lot of performance issues.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. A very interesting story but yet fails to comprehend what gameplay is all about. It wasnt good butit wasnt bad, had an open world style 'mechanic' that lets you do other missions in the same areas, giving you a silly Destiny vibe to get more legendary gear. They also involve a mission to visit other side missions to gather things for the final mision which in fact, de-rails the main story. NOTE TO DEVS: STOP DOING THIS! IT COMPLETELY HALTS THE PLOT!

The idea of having objectives meant for multiplayer in a singleplayer reminds us that INSOMNIAC are still superior in the marvel superhero game genre.

The game seems to stray off the main character further in as you unlock new heroes, allowing you to be completely neglectful of Kamala, which in my opinion is a well written character which was forgotten just to feed the interest of people only interested in the other heroes. The voice acting is alright, it seems to be that they are constantly tired of talking as there is never ending dialogue throughout.

Some missions offer skins relating back to the Avengers movies, which dont unlock those skins for you if you complete them as it is bugged. Some maps glitch out and cause you to go through the floor or building. The cutscenes often stutter ruining immersion. The companion AI doesnt seem to be targeted much but you do so they are just there to help when you are downed just to revive you.

The heroes also have some unbalanced powers which can cleave through mini bosses like they're childsplay:

Black widows guns seem to laser beam bosses so you dont have to go in raw and no rubber

Captain America is soo underpowered his super ability is the only ability that can do some real damage and you will HAVE to use him on the final boss which is just annoying.

Iron man same as black widow his range attacks deal more damage than the melee.

The only good heroes to play for a satisfying game is Hulk, thor and kamala. You will not find the other heroes any more satisying than hulks brute strength, Thors "DONK" from the hammer and his ability to weigh enemies down by throwing it at them and kamalas stretchy arms.

If you chose a hero that can fly you are going to at least beat 80% of the mission just flying over all emeies and obstacles to reach the end to finish it reducing gameplay hours.

The emeies seem repetitive, showing different enemies but they all have the same strategy which is to just charge in and hit as much as possible until they die.

Do i mention its a superhero Destiny game?

Overall im going to have to give this a solid 6/10 for its story and characters alone as it lacks on everything else and fails to fix issues it shouldnt have on release. I wanted to save the city and have an interesting protag, not do chores for loot.

It could’ve been a great single player title. The publisher chose to go down the game as a service path though, and those who prefer to play solo need to tackle run-of-the-mill co-op missions. The multiplayer on the other hand is messy, chaotic and in the long run boring. When the developers manage to fix the most pressing bugs and find a way to bring more variety to co-op, this might become a solid game. Right now, I can only recommend it to the biggest fans of the Avengers. [11/2020, p.26]

This is the perfect example of "Games as a Service" done right. Marvel's Avengers offers up a superb campaign story to play through that is promised to be expanded on in the future. The gameplay may be repetitive, but it includes just enough to keep players interested and invested in the endgame content that is available now to keep this game going until the next step in its roadmap. The possibilities and potential in the future here are hugely exciting.

There have been plenty of moments during my time with Marvel's Avengers where I’ve genuinely had a great time. But this game keeps finding ways to drag itself down- at times it almost feels like it goes out of its way to do so. There’s just so much here that I can’t overlook, no matter how hard I may try. An unnecessary and broken loot system, a litany of horrible technical issues, uninspired and one-note mission design, and a story that fails just as much as it succeeds- it doesn’t matter how mindlessly fun the combat is, it isn't enough to overcome such a heavy list of problems.
