    When I first saw this game I was very sceptical. I thought it was gonna be very grindy and didn't look fun. However this is not the case. I have found the game to be very fun the campaign is a bit short but the main meat and gravy is the coop anyway. I would recommend this game to anyone who has at least 1 friend to play with otherwise it may become boring quickly. I have amended thisWhen I first saw this game I was very sceptical.     Holy frame drop. The prelude is great, but that's it. Don't expect any content as interesting as prelude for the rest of the game.

    Great title, pore execution. Combat system is great, but its get you bored everytime you play.

    It feels like mobile game, same stage, same enemy, diferent hero, that's it

    Combat sometimes is fun? You can actually see sometimes it could be fun. Some missions getting really close to be good. Sad, we could have aaa avengers game like Arkham serier or Spider-man ps4

    This movie is about a drama and action of superheroes who battle enemies. With super powers of universe. This move is as good as Deapool. Iroman is as good as Thor. Capitan America isnt good as Hulk. Watch this movie if you like action. The special effects are as amazing a Iroman. Wach this movie if you like the superheroes.

I mean if I play an avengers game I want to play as some of the mightiest heros, not normal people who are springy. Same as every other game, if I wanna shoot people ill play far cry. There are so many avengers and we get this lame ass line up. How many times do you need to play as the same 3 characters? I get it we love them. But how many avengers are there?! You take away the free game online with so many characters, and then you do this **** Like ok, youre taking away the game to make us pay for it, but can you have the same amount of characters to play as? That one had like 40 or more, this is a lame selection. I can't even play as storm, i get it trying to keep xmen and avengers separate, but they overlap, a lot, so many xmen have been avengers. And can we all agree that the in fighting is just enough. How are they the mightest heroes when they cant even stop bickering for 2 seconds, grow the **** up! At this point lets give all the kids a try and say **** the old team. Worthless whiners, im smarter, or stronger. How about you stop mesauring dicks and do the job. And before people are like that is how it is in the stories they fight, well then lets get some writers who know how to make a team. Everone on that team has worked with a team before, so they can, they just have to be babies. If the avengers need their ego stroked every 5 seconds no wonder aim took over, it's a lot of time outta the day doing that instead of fighting evil. If not for the fabulous Ms marvel I wouldn't have even played, new character to play as, and she is just the sweetest kid, great character, nice add to the same people over and over. Graphics are fine, gameplay is not the best, try aiming to shoot with widow and end up zip lining them closer like 5 outta 10 times which was making me so annoyed. I just don't like this game, and wow I can buy costumes for the people and banners and emotes, but how about better powers or weapons or anything. How about something useful for game play not this useless window dressing way to grab money. A new animation for a fishing move, but it adds no power or anything. Just looks different. No thanks I'll keep my money. It's just not a fun game, and I guess playing with people is the big thing this game, but I don't wanna, I just want to play as differnet characters, without pvp or missions with 2 or more players. Maybe get the game right first then add people. Nothing says fun like the same 4 players on a team cuz there are no people to play as. Hell even dragon age multi let you unlock different character sets to play with to keep it fresh. Not this game though, you get this amazing line up of 11 characters, and that is it, and the majority are just normal people who have good aim, oh so mighty! And yea they are avengers for a reason, but to put ALL of them in one game?! With no others to play as is rude af! And the chapters to switch between stories is just so stupid to navigate, you have to go to the main menu to switch between them, you can do 1 mission if you hold up on the wartable then it goes back so you have to switch on the main menu. Like I said just not made to be fun to use, or play. Lucky for 3 stars honestly, and how many people have the bought to post reviews about how amazing the line up is, and the variety of characters to play as? Always fighting the same enemies, always breaking into nearly the same labs by force, always beating up enemies with moves that feel exactly the same after a few hours no matter which character you use.     this is yet another proof that your game is a failure, you don't want to work, you limit yourself to a recolor of the character when we all wanted a skin made as you see it. you don't love your game and you don't love its community.

    All of the Avengers are boring or just not likable. I think Ms. Marvel was done well enough, but even she was almost ruined at some points. The updates w/ new characters suck and are mostly just lazy reskins of characters in the base game. It's also terribly buggy. I had to restart the campaign    One of the worst AAA games ever made. I am straight-up not able to advance past the Hawkeye / Black Panther campaigns due to a game-breaking bug in both of them, but I'm not restarting because I can't tolerate this game anymore.

    This game needs to be free. It's the worst **** show i ever played. Really bad gameplay, full of bugs and dead. No one is playing this. It feels exactly like 2005 game where you just mash the buttons. Very repetitive.

Its just getting from point A to point B and then fighting some enemies and then just repeating the same thing. The gear updates seem really unrewarding and mundane. It was weird to see how much content had to be unlocked through repetitive gameplay or purchasing credits/content. The repetitive gameplay would be more bearable if the levels were more varied with different bosses. I beat the campaign but I do not have an interest in same gameplay experience with different characters or worse different skins. It would be better if they stripped this game down to its core campaign, added the other characters to the main story, and unlocked more content up front or more quickly through combat. You can tell there were some good ideas but this game is bloated and a lot of cool content requires an unreasonable time commitment unless you spend money or simply do not care about the time sink.… Expand

    First some positives, the story was good and Kamala was a great character. The gameplay however was insanely boring and repetive. Overall just not a good game which is dissapointing being an Avengers game.

    I dont know, ı guess playing mmo rpg. Why do i need to collect items, such a bad game for this budget. The only good thing is that Kamala's character was made into the story. There is also an optimization problem, i'm getting fps drops in some places. If i collect it, it was a terrible production. I hope Square Enix and Marvel never work together again.

Only the first 2 hours with Kamala Khan are good, because it´s story focused like The Last of Us, Tomb Raide or Nier. After Kamala and Hulk trying to find the members it´s ALWAYS the same. Select mission > Wait for random people > Infiltrate a small base of aim > kill robots > look for unnecessary information ..... Why can´t I kill as Hulk a small Robot? It is bug ridden and after 20 hours gets very repetitive. If you buy this in its current state, you will just be frustrated (because of the amount of bugs) and bored (due to the lack of variety in missions). The campaign isn'tI'm not going to say this is a bad game .. it has some potential. What i will say is that I would recommend waiting 6 months to a year before purchasing the game. The campaign isn't terrible, i quite enjoyed it but it only last around 12 hours. The endgame is where it just falls completely flat, it almost feels like there was no quality control put into the game. Too many bugs, releasing a game in this state should be outlawed. It makes Anthem look like game of the year. The gear/loot system has no cosmetic change to the character making it basically a pointless system just thrown in for whatever reason. The game feels like a chore to play and isn't worth 60 dollars. It could be good at some point but at the moment stay far away from it.

    EDIT: As of March 2022, game remains a cash grab. It's trash sorry. Poor suckers continue to play a game that only offers overpriced cosmetics.    … Expand

    The story is mostly focused on Kamala Kahn, who is apparently the most irritating Avenger. Her fan-girl stuff gets old real fast. She learns to believe in herself through the power of friendship and all that BS. It's okay though, because the writers throw in some Hulk and Iron Man levels. And they even eventually remember the other Avengers by the third act, also.

    Every Avenger feels exactly the same to play. It reminded me of a fighting game where there are about three moves that are unique to each character and the rest is just light and heavy attacks. Granted, it's cool to fly around as Iron Man-but they throw so many enemies at you that even that gets tiring.

    And the enemies are so irritating! First off-they are incredibly repetitive. You'll fight waves and waves of these robots while trying to defend a certain point or destroy a larger robot. And you'll do this in about three different rooms repeated with minor variations. Every time I heard the world "AIM base" I sighed with frustration.

    It also felt like I was doing a miniscule amount of damage, for some reason. Even as I leveled up and equipped better gear, even considering that the Avengers are basically god-like, I was still just slowly chipping away at the smallest enemies. It makes no sense that the Hulk's giant fists would need so many hits to actually smash anything.

    The DLC doesn't improve it much, either. the Hawkeye DLCs are just more AIM bots, but with a bow this time (which still barely scratches anything). And the Black Panther DLC just adds a crazy amount of difficulty, with multiple defense missions that are incredibly tedious and a new effect that blurs your screen so you can't see anything.

    I only really gave this a shot because I really liked the Guardians of the Galaxy game, but this one is nowhere near that standard.    … Expand

    A year pass and the experience of this game is still a nightmare. The daily missions are always the same. Stupid equipment system. The Black Panther and Spidey cant safe this digital garbage.
    By the way, unbalance unit refund and tons of bugs really drive me crazy. The developer and community try their best way to get rid of their players. They didnt show any respect to their players. Marvels Iron-man that focused on an Iron man origin story. just like a Batman game, you interact with other Avengers in the Avengers tower, with some of them playable as Co op just like Batman, Robin, Cat-woman and Night-wing. A compelling Iron-man open world story about how he became Iron-man and then trying to fight AIM or Hammer whatever.Imagine if this game was focused on one hero. Marvels Iron-man that focused on an Iron man origin story. just like a Batman game, you interact with other Avengers in the Avengers tower, with some of them playable as Co op just like Batman, Robin, Cat-woman and Night-wing. A compelling Iron-man open world story about how he became Iron-man and then trying to fight AIM or Hammer whatever. Instead of copying other great SUPER HERO GAMES, Square Enix / Crystal dynamics decides to copy DESTINY and they didn't even copy it well, neglecting the good parts of Destiny and copying all the terrible parts of it. This game especially with the HYPE and success of MCU and the sacrifice of IRON-MAN 3000 should have been the greatest Super Hero game out there. But greed made them miss the opportunity. Its fun playing as Iron-man in this game but greed overshadowed all the good parts of the game.… Expand

    it's pay to win, never got spiderman in the game. Its so sad how the game went, I really hoped it would've been good but its just boring grind and VERY repetitive. I would never recommend this game for how much of a scam it turned out to be.

    Imagine filling a sock with mayonnaise and then trying to wear that sock for an entire day. That's the only way I can describe the experience of playing this game. I didn't even pay for it as it was part of Gamepass and I want a refund. Absolutely not worth 70$, not even worth 20$, wait till it's a 10$ bargain bin game to play it.

    Mientras en algunos juegos (Hades) basicamente puedes jugar los mismos niveles una y otra vez, y TODAS las veces se van a sentir diferentes. En Marvels Avengers pasa lo contrario, puedes jugar TODAS las misiones del juego y TODAS te pareceran la misma.

    Y por ultimo Kamala Khan...

    Laughably bullet sponge enemies. The HULK takes 10 to 12 punches to kill an ordinary human with a rifle.. yet one shot from a tiny zapy zap gun sends the hulk backflipping through the air, enemies have un dodgeable un blockable instant kill attacks, brain dead allies.     First off, it had a good campaign and good DLC and okay gameplay and i am excited for more to come but I have noticed a lot of glitches in my gameplay and the graphics are very mediocre. And the fact they kept trying to put Kamala out there kind of ruins it but very good campaign overall. But the Multiplayer is overall not very good at all, the missions are very repetitive and getsFirst off, it had a good campaign and good DLC and okay gameplay and i am excited for more to come but I have noticed a lot of glitches in my gameplay and the graphics are very mediocre. And the fact they kept trying to put Kamala out there kind of ruins it but very good campaign overall. I also feel like this game should've had more villains and boss fights in it, but it only has 2 supervillains. Which is pretty underwhelming. Of course the main problem with the game is the bugs. I have experienced so many glitches that made me restart checkpoints, and tons of frame rate dips, as well as pop-in, the technical issues that were shown in this game were proof in my opinion that this game should've been delayed and better tested before release. Overall, I had some fun with this game, but it wasn't a lot, and I feel really disappointed by this game in general. If I was given the choice I'd probably give it like 2.75/10, but I think 3/10 is fine enough, if you don't care about technical problems, and just want a basic button masher with mediocre combat... I don't know why you would, but I would say that this an okay game for you, but if you're looking for a high quality marvel game... well this ain't it, Overall it was a very disappointing experience… Expand

But things change after I met Hawkeye storyline’s boss. I found the most annoying boss in my decades’ video game experience: about only 6 times’ mistakes are allowed in about 15min’s battle in which even with a perfect dodge, I can be hit, and beyond attack preview red zone I can be stunned.

    The problem is that Crystal Dynamics wanted to make a live service game without knowing how to actually make it. And because they designed it as a GaaS, there is no skill in this game's combat system, unlike the 2 games developed by    Marvel's Spider-Man (and spin-off Miles Morales) on PS4 and PS5 is a marvel of a game. Marvel's Avengers is the exact opposite of a marvelous game.

    The problem is that Crystal Dynamics wanted to make a live service game without knowing how to actually make it. And because they designed it as a GaaS, there is no skill in this game's combat system, unlike the 2 games developed by Insomniac Games. You just have to deal damage to sponges, unleash powers and ultimates, and heal yourself, just like you would if you were playing a MMO. This design decision contradicts the very nature of superheroes. Can you imagine, for example, the Hulk being kicked in the ass by puny robots one quarter his size and them not being smashed with one hit? Or Thor swinging Mjolnir into human enemies and them still being alive after the hit? That's what we see in this game.

    I managed to play just the intro (which is easily the best part of the game) and a couple early missions where I had to deal with waves of spawning and re-spawning enemies in enclosed arenas for an eternity. Then I had enough. And that little girl Kamala Khan aka Miss Marvel is actually very annoying, on top of being a forced diversity/woke/SJW BS.

    On PS4 performance is capped at 30 fps, but good luck with all the 20 fps drops when the action really heats up with dozens of enemies on screen.

    Yeah, I hate MMOs and loot-based games such as Destiny and The Division. But I'm pretty sure even people who like these genres would really dislike Marvel's Avengers. And I'm surprised we got a GaaS game by Square Enix instead of EA or Activision. I just wish Disney had allowed Sony to make an Avengers game.    … Expand

The campaign was short, but I was excited to get through it to get into what I assumed the "real" game was: Playing online with friends. That proved to be wildly underwhelming, as each mission felt almost identical and the grind of leveling characters just somehow wasn't satisfying enough.

    A couple of the characters are fun to play as, namely Thor, but playing as him really began to solidify the problem of feeling underpowered, as a lightning charged hit from Mjolnir only dinks away at a basic enemy's health rather than shattering them. The enemy units are wildly uncreative, just an assortment of the same few robot and armored troop designs, and they just aren't satisfying to fight.

    The cosmetics are another huge problem with the game, as most of the upgrades for your characters don't apply any cosmetic changes, and the skins available are all somehow more goofy looking than anything from the classic comics.

    The new Hawkeye/ Kate Bishop update seems to be too little, too late, but I may check it out if it's free. I've already thrown away more money than this game deserved.

Gameplay wise the game feels boring and not a challenge at all...graphics are okay and sound/music its acceptable but one the worst things in the game is the IGC (in game currency)...like wth dude...devs went crazy, everything is expensive and you get 0 to none while playing...and you know why...worst square enix game of my life.     This game is terrible compared despite all of the hype for the game. I have waited for this since September 2019 and when I got it and finished the campaign it was very disappointing. It gets so repetitive as you take control of an area by sitting in a circle or take command posts. Iron Man was sort of cool though. :(

    Marvel Avengers was THE game I really wanted in 2020. I had high hopes, but then came the gameplay videos and the reviews. I waited til’ the Black Friday sale of the game and it wasn’t even worth 30$.. If you’re an completionist, like myself, then do yourself a favor and DONT BUY THIS GAME!! The story was extremely charming at the beginning and I really liked it.. then when you get toMarvel Avengers was THE game I really wanted in 2020.     December 2020: I must commend SE/CD for making fixing the the game the top priority, albeit my own personal hype or interest in Marvel's Avengers has waned it is nice to pick it up from time to time and play. Frankly, I believe I have looter fatigue from Destiny 1 and can't play Avengers for long periods because of it.

    Campaign was ok, just ok... it wasn't mind blowing, but it was serviceable to the Avengers, I did enjoy all the banter that Kamala had with everybody. Her voice actor is PERFECT for her character, unfortunately it seems there is no way to replay the story.

    The post-game grind is not bad. BUT and a huge BUT, is that matchmaking for whatever activity you want to play is either broken or just doesn't work. I have yet to be able to get into a squad of 4, and at most was able to get a squad of 3 together once.

    The social hubs were pretty hidden, and not easy to find at first, they should be available to the campaign playlist too.

    Lastly, there are quite a bit of bugs, considering most of the pre-alpha was done from home, this does not take away from the score, but other decisions are baffling and not okay.

    Buying this now is effectively entering into a early access build.    … Expand

    It could’ve been a great single player title. The publisher chose to go down the game as a service path though, and those who prefer to play solo need to tackle run-of-the-mill co-op missions. The multiplayer on the other hand is messy, chaotic and in the long run boring. When the developers manage to fix the most pressing bugs and find a way to bring more variety to co-op, this might become a solid game. Right now, I can only recommend it to the biggest fans of the Avengers. [11/2020, p.26]

    This is the perfect example of "Games as a Service" done right. Marvel's Avengers offers up a superb campaign story to play through that is promised to be expanded on in the future. The gameplay may be repetitive, but it includes just enough to keep players interested and invested in the endgame content that is available now to keep this game going until the next step in its roadmap. The possibilities and potential in the future here are hugely exciting.

    There have been plenty of moments during my time with Marvel's Avengers where I’ve genuinely had a great time. But this game keeps finding ways to drag itself down- at times it almost feels like it goes out of its way to do so. There’s just so much here that I can’t overlook, no matter how hard I may try. An unnecessary and broken loot system, a litany of horrible technical issues, uninspired and one-note mission design, and a story that fails just as much as it succeeds- it doesn’t matter how mindlessly fun the combat is, it isn't enough to overcome such a heavy list of problems.
