    Great game overall, i think its one of the best games of its genre. It is not meant to be played like a GTA where you can just **** around and interact with everything, its an open world with San Andreas mechanics where you have to conquer districts after districts by taking down mob bosses one by one. The main story and sides stories are both worth playing, and the expansions add a lot of variety and fun to the standalone version. Capturing districts did not feel that repetitive since you fight in different settings with complete unique environment and sometimes some places where you wouldnt expect to fight. You can either go the stealthy or guns blazing. Also, the lieutenant system is very well made, especially how the lieutenants get jealous or angry when you dont give them the district which can lead to different outcomes.… Expand

    this game has to be played on PS4 because the PC is rotten and broken with several FPS drops and lack of optimization.
    Speaking of the game... I don't know why few liked it because I love this game mainly for its brutal combat

    Very good and detailed game. Top story, the characters are interesting and the gameplay is great .
    I loved it to take over and assign districts.
    The open world is full of life and the map is full of missions and things to do.When you do some side missions for your underbosses they reward you with bonuses or new equipment for your cars or weapons etc Definitely the best mafia game of the    Very good and detailed game.     No other game has ever managed to capture the feeling of the 60s, better than Mafia 3 has. The cars, music, historically accurate weaponry, and the ever existing racial tension, which was at it's peak during Mafia 3's time period. All the mindless critics who slated the game for being too repetitive, but lets popular game series like Call of Duty, Assassin's Creed and Far Cry get a passNo other game has ever managed to capture the feeling of the 60s, better than Mafia 3 has.     Mafia 3: I haven’t heard the N word so much since I heard a Lil Wayne song. Mafia 3 takes place in the 1960s you are Lincoln Clay a guy who just came back from Vietnam he was living a normal life until a mob boss kills his entire family his son shoots him in the head but misses a critical shot. First for a 2016 game this is breathtakingly gorgeous the motion capture work is fantastic. TheMafia 3: I haven’t heard the N word so much since I heard a Lil Wayne song. The cast is great but it’s just a little jarring to hear white people say the noey noey word, especially when one of them is Nathan Drake himself Nolan North. The game goes really big on racism from again Nolan North forming a **** KKK rally to the N word being said every sentence. Enough with all that the cars are very fun to use because they feel real and the car shooting is also very fun my favorite cars are the Sports cars because of how fast you can go. But it’s a shooter after all and it’s not a amazing shooter if it’s not bloody and lord have mercy this game is bloody. Even one pistol shot can splat brain matter everywhere and it’s amazing, the gun play is like a mix of Uncharted with the slow down mechanics from the Max Payne franchise. I haven’t played the other games but this is the one to play. It’s a very fun game of revenge and it has a great style of storytelling but the racism is a bit shocking but if you can look past that you will find a good game that is just a bit too long. Support this game even though unfortunately the studio shut down due to low sales of this game.… Expand

    Apparently I enjoyed this game much more than most people. I thought it was top notch throughout. The story was good. Graphics were good. The time period environment was great. Nice variety of cars and weapons. There were some very generic open world missions but to be expected from an open world game.     Friggin amazing story. Best story since FF15. I didn't understand how it was a mafia game until the revenge plot unfolded (doesn't take long). Amazing action sequences, amazing cars and amazing music.

    There are some bugs still. I noticed the sunlight and shadows going crazy sometimes. But they are rare and honestly the story is SO good it doesn't matter.     Mafia III is my first game of the Mafia franchise ( I got it on PS Plus), so I will make this review without the influence of other Mafia titles. First of all, this game is amazing, I love the theme of this game, as also the graphics of New Bordeaux. OMG, the soundtrack, is glorious, I loved every song, so yes, I spent a great amount of time driving rather than walking around the streets.Mafia III is my first game of the Mafia franchise ( I got it on PS Plus), so I will make this review without the influence of other Mafia titles.     El juego no es perfecto y es injusto compararlo con un monstruo como GTA. La historia es definitivamente lo mejor y lo que    Un buen juego con una excelente historia que se ambientada en los en los Estados Unidos de la post guerra de Vietnam en los 70's, con un personaje entrañable como Lincoln Clay al cual acompañamos en su búsqueda de venganza en contra de aquellos que lo traicionaron.

    El juego no es perfecto y es injusto compararlo con un monstruo como GTA. La historia es definitivamente lo mejor y lo que hace que valga la pena jugarlo, por desgracia es casi lo único por lo que vale la pena jugarlo, los controles son buenos buenos, la inteligencia artificial de los enemigos no esta mal en general, aunque por momentos deja que desear; aun así, de verdad vale la pena jugarlo y acompañar a Lincoln en su travesía.

    + La historia de Lincoln Clay es la columna que sostiene el juego.
    + El DLC "Sign of the Times" te lleva a un estado del sur de Estados Unidos donde el racismo, la superstición y la magia es el pan de cada día.
    + Jugar las misiones con un estilo de "sigilo" es de lo más divertido que se puede hacer.

    - Un mundo abierto pequeño y vacío, con poca variedad de misiones.
    - Algunos Bugs absurdos y poca re-jugabilidad.
    -Nula inmersión el los negocios que vas obteniendo. (Sé que no es de estrategia ni gestión, pero solo cumples la misión, controlas el negocio y no hay más.)

    The main issue with the release of Mafia III is that the game was released unfinished with a lot of bugs and glitches. The Gunplay, Driving Mechanics, Sound Effects are great though.

    The graphics improved and bugs ironed out over time. HDR was added.

    I had a lot of fun and there is that replayability factor and a lot of value for money regarding things to do in the game. 9/10

    Mafia III + DLC is an amazing game. It deserve a 9/10 in my book (I removed 1 point for the bugs). The more you play the more it grows on you. I reached a point where I was so comfortable with all the mechanics (shooting, driving, running, etc...) that I didn't want the game to end. I fell in love with New Bordeaux (New Orleans in the game), the soundtrack (Amazing 60's songs), the cars and the driving, the stealth approach to each encounters, the shooting mechanics, etc...

    Some reviews say the game is repetitive, but it's not. It's true that you have to conquer district after district by running after the bosses and try to hurt their businesses, but I felt that each district had its own identity, its own missions, unique landscape and scenery, that I felt it was different from the previous one and kept the game compelling. I never felt bored, and always wanted to continue to the next area. The story is good, although I didn't like the main protagonist however I understood his motives.

    You can approach each objective the way you want (stealth or all gun). Both mechanics are very well implemented and fun. Shooting has a slow mo feature that is welcomed since a couple of bullet can decimate you. Guns are varied, and you have to complete certain objectives to acquire some of them (some of the best) which is an incentive to keep progressing to acquire a piece of equipment. There are loads of upgrades that you can get and they are crucial to win some missions.

    Likewise, there are very nice and difficult races throughout the city. The more you progress throughout the story, the fastest cars you'll get and better upgrades for your cars that will help you win and beat the highest scores in the more difficult races. You can customise your cars and in the course of the game you'll find yourself driving exotic, upgraded beautiful cars. That's a nice feature since you start the game with slow 60's car, you end up driving 8 valves ultra rapid cars. There is a sense of progression very well implemented. and I kept getting these slow upgrades throughout my 100 hrs playthrough (I took my time cause I loved the game and I beat every mission available).

    This is a game you have to give a chance to. At first, you might not like it, but after 10 hrs of play, it will grow on you and you will get used to all its mechanics and you'll want to progress.
    I loved all the 3 DLC, there are varied, provide a lot of different objectives and even an additional area that has large fields and jumps à la GTA V.

    You'll have to earn money in this game, as most upgrades require you to pay hefty cash to get them, and money is scarce. It is usually found in mafia hideouts when you raid them which gives an additional reason to beat all the objective in each district to get the maximum cash you can get. Weapons also cost a lot of money to acquire as well as car upgrades. You'll never find yourself with an excess of money throughout the game, because of the reasons I mentioned.

    tl;dr Get Mafia III and take your sweat time with it. It is a very good game, with excellent graphics, and very well executed mechanics. It has a compelling story a large and varied map, excellent shooting and driving mechanics and dozens of hours of gameplay.    … Expand

В этой игре хватает недостатков, таких как вышеупомянутая плохая графика, тупой ИИ полиции или порой странная регистрация попаданий, но при этом мы имеем потрясающую атмосферу 60-х, воссозданную с невероятной любовью (взять хотя бы какое-нибудь спортивное кафе в подворотне, в котором на стенах висят форма, трофеи и расписание ставок, а люди на крошечных телевизорах смотрят скачки), музыкальное сопровождение, состоящее из величайших хитов того времени, отличнейший сюжет с яркими персонажами, три полных контента DLC, которые предлагают нам небольшие, но крайне увлекательные истории, великолепную стрельбу и целую кучу мелких деталей (умирающий прохожий может показать нам средний палец, Линкольн стучит по рулю машины в такт играющей по радио песни, во время перехода на бег, после стрельбы, Линкольн делает крошечный шаг и прыжок, чтобы разогнаться и т.д.). Многие жалуются на однообразные миссии, но во-первых, эти миссии представляют из себя динамичные перестрелки, а во-вторых, все почему-то забывают о заданиях по устранению членов семьи Маркано, которые настолько разнообразны и хорошо срежиссированы, что ты навсегда запомнишь их после прохождения игры.
    Я не спорю, что у этой игры есть минусы, но лично я готов смотреть на них сквозь пальцы, потому что я раз за разом возвращался в эту игру и получал от неё неподдельное удовольствие. Я проходил дополнения, отстраивал бар Сэмми, занимался травничеством, проходил гонки, завершал побочные задания Вито и Берка (которые, кстати, открывают некоторые детали истории этих персонажей) и просто катался по миру и слушал музыку. Я влюбился в мир, персонажей и атмосферу этой игры, поэтому для меня это 10 из 10 и одна из моих любимых игр, и мне искренне жаль, что её так сильно невзлюбило коммьюнти.    … Expand

    Just set Anti-aliasing to Low and activate "sharpening" from nvidia control panel for this game, and the blur goes away, looks good.
    Game has it flaws but it is very funny to play, i really enjoyed it, which i cannot say about GTA V who really let me down on all aspects. Some bugs, no "save"    Pretty much epic game, good story with good combat and driving, nice weapons n cars, etc.

    An interesting setting, a gripping story, and the nostalgic 1960s feel of the lively open world make Mafia III an enjoyable game despite the extremely repetitive "take down all these rackets" formula, and noticeable performance issues.

    Estava tentado em dar um 7 porque o jogo é um pouco repetitivo, mas apesar disso não deixa de ser divertido. O melhor aspeto é a atmosfera de New Orleans que é uma lufada de ar fresco nos jogos de open world. A jogabilidade é otima. Peca apenas por vir uns anos atrasado. De resto é bom. Nota 8 sem medo.

    Having played Mafia 2 and not really having any fond memories of it - I got Mafia 3 on PS+ and added it to my library.

    3 months later... Bored, I downloaded Mafia 3 to see what it was about. What I expected: Some bad driving mechanics, a cliché story line, a poor-mans GTAV.     Bored, I downloaded Mafia 3 to see what it was about.

    What I expected: Some bad driving mechanics, a cliché story line, a poor-mans GTAV.

    What I got: A really fun GTAV rip off with a story I really loved. The settings of 1960s America, the race riots and failed war on Vietnam, the anti communism racist Americans and playing as a black veteran, made for a really interesting set up, and from the first mission, you are on an excellent revenge story, slowly turning the knife on a mob boss who owns the city which is split between a handful of varied districts.
    There's a lot of duck-and-cover mechanics going on, and AI isn't the best, but it's relentlessly fun to play through. The limiting of ammo and weapons to begin with, made the first half of the game a pleasure as I was forced to grab guns from dead foes to get further in the sh1t.

    As games go, it's not terribly original, it's not anything you've not seen before, but regardless, when I watched the credits go after 50hrs of playing, I looked back and thought, that was pure fun.

    Don't listen to the negative reviews - if you can get this for £10 pre owned, its a fun as fook game to play through    … Expand

    Very great story, characters, etc. When I heard Hendrix's all aliong watchtower in main menu, I understand in that moment, this game can`t be bad. Indeed, it's have another dimenstion, very deep open world. Graphics is bad, just bad resolution and details. But I play games, not graphics, so it's really not the show stopper for me.

    Its stealth is too repetitive, its gunfights too familiar, and its driving too boring to support anything else that’s going on. Despite how clever it manages to be in portraying the conquest and control of a criminal enterprise, the nuts-and-bolts missions feel like busywork, and it never fully explores the most interesting aspects of its setting. It’s better than Mafia II, but that’s damning it with faint praise.

    It could have been a really great sandbox for one evening. It’s a shame the developers decided to extend it by over a dozen completely redundant hours, because they had fresh ideas for around one fifth of the campaign and made the rest of the game repetitive as hell. [12/2016, p.48]
