    Meh.

    The game is a letdown for me. I expected another brilliant mafia game, but instead, I've got a GTA 1960's ripoff. The game is really repetetive in terms of the missions. Although I'm giving it a 6/10 because I really like the DLC's.

    Great game, reasonable amount of content, some things could have been better, missions are often the same in a different setting. Could have been more, but it's worth it.

Good script, with good characters and narrative interest, but the pauses of the game itself    Mafia III is the major disappointment of 2016, not only delivering a regular quality video game, but the worst delivery by far from the trilogy, and of course, staining the name of the saga.

    Good script, with good characters and narrative interest, but the pauses of the game itself between mission and mission ballast this section.

    *GAMEPLAY: Decent, but not very polished.
    The stealth is quite heavy, and the animations are quite bad.
    Collision and car models are absurdly horrible and unreal.
    AI is bad.

    *GRAPHICS*: The New Bordeaux of Mafia III is quite interesting in the artistic section, but graphically it fails thanks to rather bad textures and modeling.

    *SOUND: Without a doubt, the king section. The soundtrack is a bloody wonder, the sound effects are quite good and the Spanish (Spain) dubbing is remarkable.

    *INNOVATION*: Mafia III not only brings few new playable elements, but also loses elements from the two previous games, and that's ridiculous.    … Expand

    The biggest issue of this game is the repetitiveness of the missions. To play a main mission, you need to claim for yourself two enemy businesses. In order to do that, you need to do errands over and over again. If they cut out these tedious quests, Mafia III could've been able to compete with its predecessors.

    The graphics may not be the best, frames drop below 30 when entering the Bayou and there's a weird lighting glitch after loadings, glitches with cars, suicidal pedestians but other than that the game is technically handled pretty well and it's fun to play.    … Expand

    This game has great potential, but due to the repetitive missions and the inability to fast travel makes this game somewhat of a disappointment. The cut scenes and the story is the anchor of this game. I also wish that you could carry more than 2 weapons. Also witnesses calling the cops on you is also very annoying as you have to stop what you are doing and chase them down.     I would have put this game much less, but, believe me, it could be worse.
    Let's start with the advantages of this game, in this game it is interesting to watch the cutscenes where the mafia is talking, it's just interesting to watch, no more. Just here the principle is not bad shooting, that's all.
    Gameplay is a boring and dull grinding zone, and so the whole game. Could at least assign    I would have put this game much less, but, believe me, it could be worse.

The only new character that I remember well is Donovan, he is really good, interesting and very charismatic and stands out strongly from the other characters.

    As a big fan of first two parts of Mafia I really waited for the opportunity to play this one. Even with all this negative reviews and ranks for this game.

    Today I just fifnished the game and got some + and - for it:

    Pluses:
    - atmosphere in the game (music, all this collections stuff, the world)
    - car driving ( its really good in this game)
    - the characters (most of them made greatlly)
    - the process of shooting was good enough for me too
    - some good jokes (almost all of them from Donovan)

    Minuses:
    - not the best main story (too predictable also)
    - similar quests and missions through the whole game
    - the way of passing this missions is always the same too (going the sideback door and killing all enemys silently, or going the main entrance and shooting them)
    - bugs with the missions sometimes

    So even though pluses > minuses, the minuses are more weighty for me, so the game got only 6. Of course i enjoyed playing it, but sometimes it becomes too boring. And if Mafia I and Mafia II was passed through by me for 2-3 times, i dont think that i will play Mafia III one more time    … Expand

This means sometimes the games might be a bit old (like this one) but at the same time I guess many of you out there are like me and buy games on sale a long time after they were actually released. I have only bought a handful of games on their release day these past years so it would honestly be impossible for me to give you reviews on brand new games haha. Anyway there you have the deal of this new part of The Metal Gamer!

    Holy moly did this game start of well. I honestly couldn’t stop playing this game the first couple of hours as it was so captivating and everything was so well put together. Driving felt alright (better in the other Mafia games in my opinion), controls was what you expect from a game like this and the music, God damn the music was spot on and near a perfect soundtrack to Mafia 3. Initially it had anything you want in a great Mafia game, good character, a robbery, and then a betrayal. Not only did it all go wrong for you character at that point but the game itself also lost its edge. It didn’t take long until the gameplay became repetitive and boring, I had to struggle to actually finnish the game and from what I first saw as a really great game lost its grip on me and became a tedious task to complete. A real shame that was, because Mafia 3 had all the potential in the world to become the best game in what already is a great series. New Orleans wasn’t alive enough and it feels like they lost their touch half-way through. So here I am with a bitter taste in my mouth for what the game could have been and not what it is. It is still a good game that those of you who like the series and open world games in general are sure to have some fun hours on but damn do I wish the rest of it lived up to the wicked good start…

The gameplay feels nice and tight and that's a saving grace due to the game's biggest issue - it;s repetitive as hell.     In 2010 when mafia 2 came out, I never thought i would love a gta type game but surprisingly i did it took me by surprise. But after 6 years of waiting mafia 3 had a lot to prove and satisfy.

    this was a free game at the time for PSN, i played the entire game and i loved the story. the characters were awesome and there was a lot of backstabbing and revenge plots. pleasant ending of course but it was pretty messed up on how some were treated... i did enjoy this game very much but it did feel a bit like GTA

    Что я могу сказать по поводу увиденного, так сказать.
    Ёлы палы, мы имеем клон гта! Только в 60х годах. Но клон очень качественный.
    Во первых в игре очень удобно стрелять. Это её выгодно отличает от той же Mafia 2.
    Ну сюжет так себе, хотя, как я понял, задействован протагонист предыдущей игры. Три группы борются за сферу влияния, а ты с их помощью решаешь свои вопросы.
    Графон порадовал. Выглядит игра очень хорошо.
    Порадовали, как это не странно, покатушки на машине, (ненавижу покатушки), машина тебя слушается, управлять легко.
    Порадовал стелс, да он однокнопочный и требуется доработка ии, но он работает.
    Напрягает однообразность заданий, 99% это убей и принеси, 1% узнай информацию. Всё. Из-за этого игра кажется очень затянутой.
    А в принципе это типичный, крепкий, красивый проходняк.    … Expand

    I have chosen to give the game a 5. I was a big fan of Mafia 2 and this game tried to follow in its footsteps but was let down mainly due to a severe lack of polish. I personally also found it tricky to keep up with the story, where the informants came from, etc, making the bulk of the game feel like filler.

    The era that the game is set in is very charming. The focus on racism prevalent    I have chosen to give the game a 5.     The era that the game is set in is very charming. The focus on racism prevalent at the time is a controversial yet crucial part of the games setting.
    There are some main good story missions, but the build up to each good mission involves about an hour of grind.
    Death is extremely frustrating in this game due to the time it takes to load back in, making it extra punishing to play on harder difficulty.
    The bugs/glitches ruin the game, despite playing almost 4 years after release. Things like NPCs getting run over in the background of cutscenes, a complete lack of audio in some cutscenes and AI floating in the air after they die.

    Play the game if you like to explore detailed open worlds, but don't expect too much from the gameplay.    … Expand

    I fell in love with the Mafia series with Mafia 2. I eagerly awaited the release of 3 when it was announced, and ordered it for release day. I was somewhat disappointed with what I received. Graphics were improved from Mafia II (I would hope so, its been 6 years) - but the story really wasn't notable for me, and gameplay wasn't great either. Missions seemed repetitive and to follow aI fell in love with the Mafia series with Mafia 2. I eagerly awaited the release of 3 when it was announced, and ordered it for release day. I was somewhat disappointed with what I received. Graphics were improved from Mafia II (I would hope so, its been 6 years) - but the story really wasn't notable for me, and gameplay wasn't great either. Missions seemed repetitive and to follow a structure to advance the story. World was nice though and looked pretty nice.

    Excited to hear about the definitive edition being released in August with a remaster of 2 and a remake of the original, but I won't be looking to shell out for the trilogy because III missed the mark for me!    … Expand

    The game overall is a 6/10 I liked the story the story is a clear 8/10 mainly because of the choices that you make Gameplay is 7/10 because you can upgrade your character
    But the missions are repetitive as hell go and kill this racket and collect money so the missions get a 6/10 because there are some good missions not all of them are repetitive

Сюжет очень странный в начале нам рассказывают интересную историю, а уже к середине игры всё превращается в глупую мясорубку где ты должен в стиле рембо всех убивать. Физика оружия улучшилась по сравнению с предыдущими частями, теперь приятно стрелять с разного оружия и даже хочется попробовать все виды ганов, но это всё также не дотягивает до проектов современной игровой индустрии. Физика машин отвратительна, машины чувствуются пластмассовыми. Игра оставляет смешанные чувства и как правило негативные, но несмотря на всё мне было приятно провести время за игрой, особенно когда я не думал что это продолжение великой серии мафия.… Expand

Im Gegensatz zu den Vorgängern gibt es in der großenLeider ist der dritte Teil der Mafia Serie als völlig verbuggte, unfertige Version erschienen. Erst Jahre später war der Titel wirklich rund spielbar. Das hat Hangar 13 leider positiven Kritiken gekostet, Kritiken, die das Spiel aber eigentlich verdient hätte, denn vieles macht der Entwickler mit dem dritten Teil der Serie wirklich gut. Im Gegensatz zu den Vorgängern gibt es in der großen Open World des Spiels nun nämlich auch diverse Aufgaben und Nebenquests aufzuspüren. Wenn das Konzept auch lediglich der Ubisoft Formel folgt, so viel gab es in einem Mafia Spiel noch nie zu tun. Star des Spiels ist aber die wieder einmal hervorragend erzählte Geschichte, die neben Cut Scenes auch durch Filmschnipsel im Dokumentarstil realisiert wird. Das ist toll gemacht und gibt dem Spiel eine ganz eigene Note. Dass es dennoch nicht mit Open World Spielen von Sony oder Rockstar mithalten kann, liegt vor allem an schnell repetitiv werdenden Nebenaufgaben. Wer vor allem aber an einem guten Story Spiel in einer Open World interessiert ist, der kommt bei Mafia 3 sicherlich auf seine Kosten.… Expand

    I enjoyed the mechanics of the gameplay and the story but the game is way to repetitive. I mean people complain about checklist open world games like ubisoft games to be repetitive but to me those are not repetitive and I enjoy those but mafia 3 even I found it way to much of doing same thing over and over

    Pretty cool game but it reminds me alot of driver 2 for ps1 but you get to use weapons. I liked the setting of the story. Could have been a little better if they allowed you to actually use the businesses that you set up afterwards and have gang wars.

    I thoroughly enjoyed doing the side stuff and filler, I did every activity for every racket and I was engaged to play even after the game ended. The driving is delightful and the cars feel like they have weight. Story was fine. Gunplay was fine but I ended up playing stealthily most of the time. The DLCs are decent.     I played the first two Mafia games and I think the are genre classics. Mafia III is a bit of a let down. I like the graphics and the interview-style story, but it is repetitive and the AI is just bad. I hope the studio learns from the mistakes. Not bad but just not great. Overall rating: 7.4.

    На днях полностью ее прошел уже с длс. Скажу так, длс в мафии 3 это лучшее, что есть в серии мафия 2 (хоть я и фанат мафии 2). Сама игра ведь тоже достойная, просто есть несколько минусов из-за которых игру в народе прозвали худшей игрой в истории. Я думаю, что каждому игроку серии мафия стоит ее пройти, кто проходит на пк качайте мод от гринда. Знаю, что оригинал весь был в багах и былНа днях полностью ее прошел уже с длс. Скажу так, длс в мафии 3 это лучшее, что есть в серии мафия 2 (хоть я и фанат мафии 2). Сама игра ведь тоже достойная, просто есть несколько минусов из-за которых игру в народе прозвали худшей игрой в истории. Я думаю, что каждому игроку серии мафия стоит ее пройти, кто проходит на пк качайте мод от гринда. Знаю, что оригинал весь был в багах и был мыльным, но в Definitive Edition уже убрали мыльцо и пофиксили баги, лично я проходя данную игру на PS4 не встретил ни одного бага.     An outstanding atmosphere of a big beautiful city, filled with classic cars and some of the best songs of the past on the radio. Though it didn't have a classic 'Mafia' feel with the story centred around black character, it did make sense and was told in an interesting way: from a documentary perspective. Unfortunately, the whole experience was undermined by repetitive missions -    *6.5*

    Главная весомая проблема триквела - катастрофическая затянутость. Урезать бы все эти захваты территорий хотя бы в половину и проект можно было бы с достоинством ставить в ряд полноценной трилогии. Однако для большинства игроков, и уж тем более фанатов серии, триквел так и останется провальным. Именно она не позволяет мне сильно хейтить репетативность проекта. Спустя время оптимизацию отшлифовали и выпустили ряд очень годных дополнений, которые вносят того самого разнообразия предыдущих частей.… Expand

    This is one of "worst" of the trilogy...story is very good as soon as all the characters and main protagonist but this has too much bug and fps drop sometimes,the song are very amazing and A.I. is very bad and has an amount of activities but its too repetitive but after all its still a good game with a good story.

    Its stealth is too repetitive, its gunfights too familiar, and its driving too boring to support anything else that’s going on. Despite how clever it manages to be in portraying the conquest and control of a criminal enterprise, the nuts-and-bolts missions feel like busywork, and it never fully explores the most interesting aspects of its setting. It’s better than Mafia II, but that’s damning it with faint praise.
