    I hate car race games in general. The game forces you to do a stupid race in the story mode as the main mission! And there is no SKIP!
    I cannot believe that the developers ignored this obvious point!
    So I deleted the game. Good that I got it as the monthly free game in PS plus!

    Classic mode race. Complete and utter bs garbage. The only trophy I had left was to beat the game on classic mode. Forget about that, some of us have lives to get back to.

    Recently got this free with PS Plus. In the very first level you have to drive over a bridge. But the game didn't recognise that I had driven past the checkpoint marker. GLITCH. So I paused the game and selected 'Reset Checkpoint.' But it didn't reset me to being in the car, it put me on foot even though I had not yet done a walking mission. GLITCH. I’m playing on classic and it’s unbeatable.I have 12 f hours in this particular stupid mission and all the things that happens are random.The car spin so easy and it’s a mess with so many cars .     Games is 4.5/5 in my oppinion. Unskippable credits are so annoying that I give only 3 stars (grow up - if I want/need to check credit I will do so if I choose)

    I never played the original so I didn't go into the game with any expectations. Most of the game is comprised of driving around or listening to cutscenes. The game was at its height during some of the driving moments when you could take in the atmosphere of the city. The main character Tommy is almost laughably one dimensional.     I can't believe that this game was released in 2020. Worst level design with downgrades from the 2002 Mafia game. Worst shooting mechanics and empty open world. No freedom, no lovable characters, no good voice acting, nothing is good about the game. If you're a human please don't buy this game

    Прошёл на пс5, куча глюков и играть не интересно

    Ужасная графика, мыло мыльное. Геймплей скучный, тир со стрельбой из-за угла, никакой отдачи оружия. Автомобили словно утюги. Персонажа ужасные, катсцены невозможно смотреть. Ужасный ремейк.

    Such an awful game. The original was a classic and this remake does nothing but tarnish that reputation. Sure the graphics are decent but all of what made the game special is gone. Avoid this at all costs if you're a fan of the first Mafia. If you thought 3 was good you may like this

    Last update for this game was Fri, September 25, 2020.
    It is almost 1 year since the last update yet the game still has optimisation issues and room for improvement as well there are missing missions from the original, crashes and bugs are persistent, no tram rides etc.

    I can not find any info on further planned patches, and their official website has no dates on any of it's articles.

    Seems like shady tactic, to get old mafia fans like myself in to buy the game.

    Somewhere they did it well, but many missions were changed completely especially some of my favourites like "just for relaxation" and "lucky bastard" and I don't understand what was the reason to change Tom's character, he looks like a badass gangster now which is opposite to what he used to be in the original, just a good man who happened to be in the wrong place.

    Terrible gunplay system and controlling the aim.
    Sometimes when you walk freely in the city the sounds will disappears.
    Terrible driving and physics.
    Short story You can't do anything after completing the game there is no much activity you can do
    Again bugs are literally annoying Only the graphics are good.

    I started up this one on classic difficulty, played through until the race section which was notoriously hated in the classic game... and its actually worse.
    I see nothing but complaints online about this, but no sign of the developer addressing it (It came a year ago). Thankfully I didn't buy the entire trilogy, this one    I loved the Mafia trilogy when I played them as they came out.

The remake still tells you a good story. Still, it ruins the whole experience    Mafia: Definitive Edition plays on both nostalgia and disappointment, and this is the experience you'd rather like to avoid.

    I liked the first Mafia, with all of its flaws, with the great story, big city, the 30s. I even liked the damned race! But it was in the early 2000s, so I was astonished by this game. The remake still tells you a good story. Still, it ruins the whole experience with the cheap gameplay, terrible driving model, repetitive missions (drive - kill some guys - return, repeat), and impressive but dead city.
    The gameplay feels very cheap. The character movement is annoying (it's like you are playing a clay soldier instead of a human), shooting is very 2009 - hide behind something, shoot some guys, go forward, repeat until you reach some point. Driving is not the experience you want to have in this game. I know the cars are from the 30s, but you are always riding a tank on the ice whenever car you are using. Always.
    The open city is dead. There's no reason to do anything there. You can't use the tram, buildings are locked, people are somehow retarded, and walk the scripted ways. Sure, you have collectibles, but looking after magazines in the dead city is nothing you would like to do anyway, trust me.
    Bugs, bugs, bugs. The game is buggy. The textures are loading in front of you. The graphic is really "shaky". And the worst thing is that everything is scripted to the point that the police car can stop in one place during the mission and disappear while the other will arrive.
    I can't understand why this game got so many good reviews from the magazines and gaming portals.
