    The NFL seriously needs to stop allowing EA to make anymore of these fraudulent games. EA is one of the slimiest companies of all time and they are TERRIBLE for gaming. I wish gamers would just grow a spine and boycott EVERYTHING EA.

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Well what can I say, I am completely disappointed by the turn out of Madded 21. I saw so much potential from many years back, like create a team possibly coming back, or franchise actually letting you design a stadium and uniforms like 2K does in its NBA Series. Might I add that, they are far superior then Electronic Arts when it comes to sports games. EA has completely dropped the ball on this game, just rereleasing Madden 20 with new rosters and one new game mode called The Yard. The yard is sort of a backyard football type of vibe where you play to earn credits. Which in turn you can use to buy gear for your character. When I played a few games, which mind you were not easy, I noticed I would only get a few hundred credits here or there. Now not to worry, because EA has brought in microtransactions to save the day! Making all the clothing that is actually desirable completely out of range for the casual player to actually get anything worth while, EA expects you to pay for Credits which in turn you can use to buy your favorite article of clothing. It's mostly just a Cash Grab for EA, just like the past few years have been with every Madden game released from Madden 13 forward. Another "new" mode, which is just a rebrand career mode, is Face of the Franchise. Face of the Franchise isn't bad, but it honestly just feels rebadged from last year, some of the most crucial parts of your career, like choosing your new position, isnt even voice acted. Now they did try to take a step forward with you continuing your career after the draft. But it has you skipping alot of your games throughout your career. The most I've ever played in one Season is 4 games, two of them against your rival, and then two in the playoffs. Honestly it's just thrown together last minute and isn't really worth picking up if this is the mode you are after.

    Ultimate team is again the main focus of the game, mainly because EA wants you to buy packs to improve your team. Trust me when I say this, its exactly like Madden 20, but with new paint splashed around everywhere. They really want you to be in this mode, because they want your money more then your satisfaction, and honestly, after being ignored for years by EA, they dont deserve it.

    I'm not going to go into detail about Franchise mode, mainly because it's exactly the same as last year. Nothing has changed in Franchise mode except for the paint scheme.

    Gameplay is the same as last year, with some improvements that I can say have taken my frustrations away. Everyone knows about being sacked even though you threw the ball to your receiver. They finally added a throw out of sack animation to the same, and that has relieved alot of frustration from playing the game for me. It's just the first release so there are alot of glitches, as to be expected, but they didnt do alot to fix them in Madden 20, so I dont expect those to go away anytime soon in 21.

    Honestly, this game let me down, there was some positive, but alot, and I mean ALOT, of negatives in Madden 21. I'm giving this game a 1 out of 10, because it was just rebadged from Madden 20, 19, 18, 17, yeah you get the picture. I wont be buying another Madden game again. If 2K gets rights to start making NFL Simulation games, you best be sure, I'll be over there trying to get my hands on that copy.    … Expand

    Genuinely the worst madden I have ever played. Madden has been garbage since 2008 and I believe it’s so unfair that EA has a monopoly over the NFL games. It’s so stupid and I hope to god the NFL terminates trot contract with EA. They put zero effort into making football games and they are only in it for the money. It’s all scripted and based off animations not skill.

    It truly amazes me how EA can release the same basic game each year, recycling 95% of the game; the mediocre graphics, bizarre player models, same old load screens; and yet at the same time continually find all new ways to break the game and frustrate it's users. Of course, they keep all the old bugs that they have never bothered fixing as well. They release buggy, crappy software, an don't care. That's their MO. I've been playing Madden on and off since SNES. Just once, I would like to buy Madden, install it, and have it run properly. Hell, decently. Once in my STINKING FREAKIN LIFE. JUST. ONCE. Just like the last 4 or 5 versions, there are errors everywhere. Squads still doesn't work, which sucks since me and my buddy buy this to play together, and we can't because apparently EA is too busy selling loot boxes to fix a problem half the community has been screaming about for 2 years. There is a stutter/glitch where it drops frames every 60 seconds or so, everything freezees, stutters, and glitches, which is really helpful in the middle of a play. The yard markers/field markings aren't there about 1 out of 5 games. There's a glitch with the QB throwing on his own. Just throws it. Why not. No point talking about franchise mode, they literally cut/copied and pasted it in for the 3rd year in a row. Literally. Not. A. Single. Change. Wanna play against someone online? Good luck, will it work, will the servers crash, who knows, it's a mystery. They added a new play mode called The Yard which is supposed to be like NBA street ball, it's interesting for like 5 minutes, just a stupid mode, and is basically there to.... you guessed it, sell you more stuff. Face of the Franchise is a colossal waste of time they could have spent just fixing their broken game. I could go on, but let's just say, this game is a mess. A total mess. This should never have gotten past beta.
    These aren't games. They are vehicles to seperate you from your money. As they take more and more control away from the user and force more and more crap in the game, the more disconnected I feel from anything going on in front of me. They just don't care about anything except selling packs. Funny how those never glitch out. Go figure. If you want to play some video game football, and don't use Ultimate team mode, just track down a version a few years old (18 or 19) for 1/4 of the price, really it's about the same damn game, absolutely no point in plunking money down for this POS unless you really like handing EA hundreds of dollars for mediocre rewards. So frustrating. EA has an exclusive license with the NFL. This game is gold proof that that competition is necessary in business otherwise you get, well, the disaster that is Madden. This is the only EA product i ever buy because I really, really want to have a football game on PS4. I pray to every god under the stars that someone, anyone, makes one and we can jettison this horrid, glitchy piece of trash once and for all.    … Expand

I tried out face of the franchise which I thought was cool until I couldn’t change the difficulty and every single game was on rookie until I was drafted... so if I’m throwing 10 TDs a game why would I get benched in college? It just seems likeI’m not sure why I keep buying this... Please just make a deep franchise mode. I really dislike MUT and also on FIFA I don’t play ultimate team.     So I have this game on pc and man is it bad. The only mode that I can actually get to work is just a regular play now game. And seemingly every five seconds I get disconnected from the EA servers( just like every other madden game in existence). The gameplay in madden 21 even feels way more scripted

I've been watching football all my life and i am in crushing debt so i had to sell by child left kidney to buy this game .Now after I've played this game. I'm stuck with a bad game, still in crushing debt and my son died of kidney failure due to the fact that he only hadbad game NFL please cut ties with ea . they don't do the sport justice. i am 48 yeas old and in the state of Oklahoma. I've been watching football all my life and i am in crushing debt so i had to sell by child left kidney to buy this game .Now after I've played this game. I'm stuck with a bad game, still in crushing debt and my son died of kidney failure due to the fact that he only had one and we found out that he had type 1 diabetes and died because of the one kidney.     Madden 21 sucks. The gameplay is terrible as the gameplay feels very fast and modes like Franchise are neglected in favor of nodes like the yard and ultimate team. There are also various frame rate issues that caused me to miss PATs. #endmaddenmonopoly

    The gameplay is pretty solid. The graphics are good. You can tell the developers know how to make a wonderful football game, they are just capped by the EA conglomerate. I can pick up any madden game released over the last 10 years and get the same general experience, and unfortunately in come cases a worse experience. Then in a cutscene that is never shown our player snitches without our control and we are put in the game. Cool we get to play HS yes actually HS is very fun but Its like 3 games. Then you commit which I do like that they added real colleges so there is that but then Tommy (the starting QB mentioned before) he commits to the same college after switching to WR because he wants revenge for some reason after our player helps him by throwing TDs to him in the last HS game. Anyways he switches back to QB and now it puts us and Tommy in 3rd year of college where you re rotated at QB the story is dumb and there is really no chamge to any decisions you make. At least in Madden 20's career mode if you lose you get picked a little later or something and your friend I guess for Madden 20 a WR from college sends you a message but Tommy basically dies after College because he is one of the top prospects but never gets to the NFL. And then the NFL "Scenarios" they added just makes you skip weeks throughout the season and you have No control. Btw you get drafted to the Bears no matter what which is stupid. In Madden 20 it was like 6 different Teams but nope Madden 21 has 1 you get picked too and thats coming from a bears fan its so stupid. There is no immersion no Fun its stupid and pointless and shallow and there is no effort. As I said before the Gameplay is as bad as ever and MUT Is horrible I get some people love the gamemode but as a person who doesnt wanna spend 100000 bucks on packs that give me golds most of the time I refuse to play MUT. The Only thing I like from this year is the Yard which seems very fun however still lags behind 2k's park mode in My Career which is sad. However on top of that the new Flagship Gamemode making people wanna buy M21 is actually kinda bad due to weird animations and Glitches and again, terrible Gameplay. Player Models apparently mean nothing because everyone is warping through each other no matter what mode you play and overall its just a really bad experience. As a customer of EA for many years I will not be buying Madden 21 this year and I encourage everyone else to do the Same.… Expand

They added a new game mode with the Yard but it isn’t really “new” considering they had the exact same game mode on madden for the Wii. I miss the real pictures from Madden 12-16 a small thing that made rookies feel like real players and brought immersion and attachment to your team. Still no coaching staff which has been missing since Madden 12. Sim stats are still super unrealistic and despite the cover athlete rushing for over 1000 yards in real life he will not rush for more that 300 yards in a season in your franchise mode. New glitches including being unable to properly use formation subs. Even the new coaches face scans are terrible despite no name players getting actual face scans in the game. No customization for player faces despite this feature being in TWO different game modes this year. Draft class glitches are even worse than last year and every time you edit a player the college changes to N/A. The only positive i can give this mode is regression seems to be much improved and something i am very pleased they fixed. I could forgive the horrible franchise if the gameplay was fun and realistic but its not. DDA is more prevalent than eve. The CPU will not throw a single incompletion unless it is a dropped int from you. CPU Qb ratings do not matter. Backup QB's will play like 99 overalls. It is simply impossible to stop the CPU even with a 99 overall defense. Man coverage, Zone coverage, blitzing nothing works. Offense is just as frustrating because your qb will miss wide open throws with extreme regularity. Terrible animations will launch passes directly to defenders. Defenders will bat a ball and it will fly 30 feet in the air into a defenders hands. Simply put whether you are playing or simulating you will not have a fun experience playing this game. This is the least ive ever enjoyed playing madden usually and we haven't even gotten to the part where EA patches the game and it makes it even more unplayable. Last year at launch I really enjoyed Madden 20 gameplay and by the end of the year it was unbearable. Madden 21 is already unbearable so I cannot even predict how much worse it will get. I cannot stress enough how bad this game is. EA only cares about microtransactions and will shove them down your throat every chance you get. It is sad to see what has happened to Madden a game i grew up loving turn into this. I miss how much fun it used to bring me and cannot keep waiting for a better game.… Expand

    Madden NFL 21 is another blatant recycling of last year’s edition of the „simulation“ of the American football. Sadly, most of the modes remained the same. Gameplay received a few minor tweaks, and in the end it still persists as a cash grab not worth anybody’s time.
