    This game is absolutely terrible, the animations basically control where the player goes and its almost impossible to get anywhere near the qb when using power rush moves

    The game has horrible graphics and you are paying 60$ for a roster update, superstar KO is the same and MUT is a money grab don’t recommend

    Tons of bugs in the game. Franchise mode is wash, rinse, repeat from every year. Update your roster on madden 20 and save your cash. Bring back 2K.

    As a longtime franchise player, I was not surprised to see no improvement or detail additions to the game mode. We have become used to the disappointment. The micro-transaction motivation behind the game in recent years has ruined hardcore fans trust in EA delivering a football simulation. Gameplay was the reason for my score as I expected improvement there. Instead, defenders move in quick sand, players get caught on eachother, and I can confidently say they made a far worse product then Madden 20. Madden 19 gameplay was abysmal when it first released, and they made nice improvements with updates shortly after release. I hope I can say the same with Madden 21.… Expand

    You really did a copy and paste game,you have the only simulation football game and don't even bother trying to improve it.

    Game is bad bad. They really dropped the ball with this one. I can’t imagine trying to re skin an old game and still try and use same money hungry tactics. They released a broken game.

    Everything is based on scripted animations. Game takes the control away from you. Thankfully able to return it. Don't give EA any more money until things change. Lord knows when that will be.

    The NFL *needs* to strip EA of its rights on the monopoly of Madden. Not only have NONE of the changes promised been implemented, the game has shown to be an absolutely horrible buggy mess across platforms. On top of THAT, you can CLEARLY SEE in several situations where they have literally just re-used assets from prior games... as in, they literally say "Madden NFL 17"/"Madden NFL 19"The NFL *needs* to strip EA of its rights on the monopoly of Madden. The animation system is broken to the point that sometimes you can't even tackle someone to stop a play... they just get stuck in a loop of animations where they run around in circles.

    Dude. Seriously. This is ATROCIOUS and an absolute SLAP IN THE FACE to everyone that purchased this sad excuse of a game... yet alone a "football simulation" that EA touts it to be.

    Let 2K take the franchise over. At least their recurring iterations of games aren't absolute hot garbage that your drunk step dad wouldn't want.    … Expand

    This game is awful. Feels rushed and unprofessional. Almost the exact same from last year except they add their new gimmicky game mode to make it seem new and fresh. The continued neglect of their game mode “Franchise” is a huge disappointment to all of the Madden fans. #NFLdropEA

    #NFLdropEA Metacritic and Madden have BOTH lost their way. They continue to lose the trust of their supporters/fans day in and day out. Madden NFL 21 makes the top 10 worst games of all time, look like a gold mine. Congratulations for being worse than BIG RIGS and WORSE than LJN games. That is quite an accomplishment. DO NOT PAY ATTENTION to any positive or mixed reviews. They are all LIES!

Glorified roster update from same game over the past 5 years, but EA has taken their bare bones product and made it buggier, glitchier, and less stable. EA's only concern is to sell you additional ultimate team packs in the form of microtransactions. The base game is worse than many Free to play games I've played before, worst than most betas I've played.… Expand

    Madden NFL 21 is another blatant recycling of last year’s edition of the „simulation“ of the American football. Sadly, most of the modes remained the same. Gameplay received a few minor tweaks, and in the end it still persists as a cash grab not worth anybody’s time.

    For NFL diehards, there remains hundreds of gaming hours at your disposal in Madden 21. These same diehards – much like players of EA’s NHL and Sony’s The Show – will be left with the impression they’ve played this game before, however.
