    I hate this game. EA is a terrible company, and this is yet another shameless ploy to rob you of your hard earned cash. Please do not buy this trash. Play last year's game if you need to play Madden.

    Yet another roster update. Played the game via EA access trial and in my FIRST GAME bumped into glitches and bugs that remained in Madden for the past couple of years. This game is a spit in the face for football fans, I truly hope another football franchise game series can somehow compete because anything is better than the copy and paste garbage we receive year after year.

    Nothing has changed here since the PS3. EA has to stop or 2K will just devour them once their exclusive deal ends.

    Franchise mode is an exact copy and paste from Madden 20. All they did was change the menu color. All the work that should have been done on Madden’s most beloved mode was used on The Yard.

    The Yard is basically what the gameplay was made for since Madden is an arcade style game, not an actual simulation football game. It was a game mode literally nobody asked for. And you guessed it,    Franchise mode is an exact copy and paste from Madden 20. All they did was change the menu color. All the work that should have been done on Madden’s most beloved mode was used on The Yard.

    The Yard is basically what the gameplay was made for since Madden is an arcade style game, not an actual simulation football game. It was a game mode literally nobody asked for. And you guessed it, more micro transactions! They finally added mouth pieces after 10 years but you can only get them in The Yard. The blocking is still broken. Lead blocking is joke, the FB or pulling lineman will run right passed a LB and watch you get destroyed as he continues up field to block the safety after you already got stuffed. Pass trajectories are still god awful, touch passes don’t exist. The game is still HEAVILY animation dependent which sucks. It’s the reason you get sucked into blockers and get weird unrealistic stops at the 1 yard line instead of scoring. The announcers are still bad. They don’t follow what’s happening on the field very well and sometimes just flat out make no sense. Example “First and goal from the the 10 after the costly fumble but they can still pick up a 1st down.” Meanwhile I’m on my own 10 and it’s clearly not first and goal. Or, play as the Packers and hand the ball to AJ Dillon and laugh as they call him Walter Payton lol.

    As long as Madden uses the Frostbite engine I don’t think the gameplay will ever actually get better. The same issues we’ve had for a decade still exist. It’s very disheartening at this point. If you were planning on getting Madden 21 I’d wait and see what it looks like on next gen consoles if you can afford it. If not just download the latest rosters from Madden share on Madden 20 and enjoy. Unless all you care about is MUT and you’re addicted to gambling and throwing money away, then this game is perfect for you.    … Expand

    Game is broken. You might as well just stick to Madden 20. They have done nothing except added the yard which is also broken. Time for EA to have some competition then maybe they will care about creating a good game.

It really is the epitome of not giving a damn about the consumer. Loading screen times are horrific, which is maybe positive because it prolongs the time until I have to play the horrific gameplay.

    The franchise mode is empty. There is no realism there is no logic. I consistently see Larry Fitzgerald being cut from the cardinals. Adrian Peters on cut from the redskins. It is ridiculous but hey if you wanna build a dream team just offer the colts 35cent and you can get your hands on 94 overall quenton nelson. The surprising thing to me is they actually didn't even upgrade ultimate team.
    But what ea did go away and do all year is spend time creating a buggy and lifeless mode called the yard which just about sums up the fact that they manage to con the nfl into thinking they create a simulation football game whilst being about as realistic as stevie wonder driving an a aeroplane.
    Also what Ea in all there wisdom have done have made the word Moore a profanity. Which to be honest really is a bummer because I used to enjoy calling all my friends moores but I guess we have to move with the times and stop people saying such heinous words.
    I rate this a 0 because it is completely unacceptable that a business the size of ea continues every year to put out an incomplete unrealistic piece off garbage. The writing is surelu on the wall for ea. Actually improve your game and stop allowing kids to gamble.

    In conclusion if you want an unrealistic buggy mess this game is for you. If you want to watch your o line miss easy blocks and then as your run further down field watch your wrs run away from blocking whilst just as your about to get a touchdown you get locked in an animation and are teleportrd into a defenders arm then this game is perfect for you.
    If you want a game that is not based off of skill but how badly you can cheese the game this is perfect. Need a touchdown te attack or slants will do fine because its unstobbbale maybe hb stretch cause there is no counterbalance. This game would be perfect if it was celebrating the achievements of what severely handicapped people can do when asked to make a game but unfortunately it is not it is made by one of the biggest company's in the world.

It is going to need massive improvements in order to try and get back the majority of it's lost fanbase. Until they actually show they care, they will keep getting all thisOk, here's the bottom line. They've devoted all their resources to Arcade style game-modes while leaving Franchise mode, the mode that made Madden so popular, untouched. There are no physics, only clunky animations that break immersion and remove any idea of realism. The outcomes of plays are scripted, so you have little to no control over what really happens.

    This game is absolutely broken from the foundation up, yet they devote all their resources to features no one wants or asks for. The majority of their focus is spent on getting young children to gamble in their virtual trading-card game, Ultimate Team. The form of gambling promoted to children is in a gray-area legally, but it is still highly predatory and immoral.    … Expand

    Terrible. They could care less about franchise mode. Proof that all they want is your money is the fact that there is no mouthpieces in the game... except in the yard, and you have to pay.

    Yes, please rent this at a redbox or sign up for ea access and play it for 10 hours. thats all the time youll need to realize this game is not complete, absolutely broken and unplayable. you cant even get through the menus without constantly waiting and while you are in a game, the screen stutters and flickers. even freezes when you score a touchdown. unplayable - ea has lost their way.

    In all seriousness all of you are better off buying a PS2 or dusting off your PS2 from childhood and purchasing one of the old maddens of your choice or buying 2k5, I would rather eat **** before I even consider playing Madden21 and future maddens down the road I don’t understand how people can possibly defend madden year after year.

It is SOOO far behind the rest of the simulation sports market despite having the most resources at their disposal, and one the largest brand in the world. Franchise mode continues to be an embarrassment.     It’s madden 20 with new menus and menu music. The only brand new feature is the yard. (An arcade style 6v6 backyard football mode with cosmetics you can buy with real money) This game is an unpolished, unfinished, and more buggy simulation football game than last year. Please do not waste your money.

    Madden NFL 21 is another blatant recycling of last year’s edition of the „simulation“ of the American football. Sadly, most of the modes remained the same. Gameplay received a few minor tweaks, and in the end it still persists as a cash grab not worth anybody’s time.

    For NFL diehards, there remains hundreds of gaming hours at your disposal in Madden 21. These same diehards – much like players of EA’s NHL and Sony’s The Show – will be left with the impression they’ve played this game before, however.
