Madden just keeps getting better! Enhancements to gameplay and presentation are fantastic. The game runs smoother than ever. MUT is fantastic, Franchise works like a dream. I can't fault this version of Madden, if I had to I'd ask for a bit more immersion when playing the Franchise, but I hear its coming in Madden 18! 10/10

This is the best Madden to date, with changes to franchise mode, draft kings, and the defensive side of the ball, Madden hasn't been this fun since the mid 200's.

Game time perfection. Not sure what all the belly-aching is about. This game is gorgeous to look at and great, intuitive fun. Maybe I'm playing a later version with some of the bugs people note below gone, but my experience has been a smooth, immersive experience. Love it!

My father was a busy man and didn't have much time to spend with me, but whenever we played this game, it felt like we had all the time in the world. It was a way for us to escape from the real world and just enjoy each other's company. As I reflect on my time with my father, I am grateful for the memories we made through this game. It may have been just a game, but it was so much more than that. It was a way for us to connect and grow closer, and I will never forget the lessons and love my father imparted to me through our time playing together. Last year's game was one of the best Madden releases in a long time and they made it better this year.

Every year people say this is the same game...because it is the same game. What do you want? It's a football simulation game. They build on it incrementally. If you can't tell the difference in gameplay this year from last year you are delusional. Franchise Mode is much better.

Franchise Mode is much better. EVERYTHING is streamlined and smoother. Trades are easier to negotiate, the draft classes more realistic with hidden gems in the later rounds, and players who won't make the cut in early rounds. Free Agency is packed with superstars like it was in the previous years. You can edit ratings you disagree with or create superstars.

The running game is improved (and more challenging) the AI on Defense seems smarter most of the time. They finally call penalties other than holding and offsides. Even though PI is clearly a generated event with an animation as are INTs sometimes. It's getting better, NOT worse.

The new play by play guys and dialogue are worth the $60 alone. It appears the dialogue is getting updated every so often through a DL so it stays fresh. Phil Simms and Jim Nantz were the worst.

The level of customization to the gameplay is practically unparalleled in any other sports game. 2K would never let you edit players, have gameplay and xp sliders in Franchise Mode. EA isn't jamming microtransactions into every game mode (just MUT).

Great game. They continue to improve the gameplay and realism every year. Recent versions of the game have focused on the AI's ability to adapt to your gameplay and prevent the few unstoppable play calls. I look forward to the new release every year.

I dont mind the sound track, but I dont think you should hurt a games score because Madden didnt choose your taste in music this year. If the music is a huge deal you can turn off songs you dont like and in the options theres the orchestra music you can choose to turn on. This isnt a jump from last year really, but the few changes are for the better. Now only if they would bring back NCAA football. Expand

So I got Madden 17 by EA Sports and they did a great job on the game for the Ps4. The graphics for the game were outstanding and when you played the game it was very fluent and smooth to play. And when I play a game i don't want it to take a long time to update when someone gets traded or if they are putting a update in the game. This game probably takes only 3 seconds to update and that’s what I like in a game.

Some of the new features are just absolutely great they got a new ultimate team mode where you can draft your own team of fantasy players and play against other people with your team. When you play against other people the game’s difficulty goes up to all star so if you want to be prepared playing against someone i wouldn’t play on rookie. If you have had this game in the previous years i would make the game difficulty more challenging but if you are a newcomer to the game or the console I would recommend you play on the rookie or pro game mode.

Some of the new things madden 17 has is there is a new type of field goal meter and it is more challenging to kick field goals. But there are way better graphics and I felt like I was in the actual game being the quarterback the game is so realistic. Also if there is a trade in the NFL you just have to update the game and then boom the guy that got traded is on the right team it only takes about a second for the game to update. If you have any questions please comment and ask i will be happy to answer them for you.

    CONS
-The “wide open” elite receiver dropped passes percentage is just way too high.
    -Run pass glitch.

The Madden franchise is back again, just like every other year, and with a new year means new bugs. First off, there’s a new glitch known as the run and pass glitch. The Run and Pass glitch is pretty much where you are playing an opponent that knows exactly what play you are running therefor he is able to defend it. I will say, it’s extremely hard to beat an opponent that knows what you are doing. Second off, the fact that elite receivers are dropping wide open passes is just ridiculous, this percentage is way too high and most likely will be fixed. Some good changes to the game are the fact that the “Playmaker” function has been toned down to a reasonable rate. Last year, using playmaker was just “OP” (overpowered) you were able to control multiple receivers while in the pocket . This year, you are only allowed to control the nearest receiver to you.

When I first bought Madden 17 for the PS4 I was extremely excited to see what this season’s edition had to offer. Little did i know, i was in or a big disappointment. This year was just like every other year, same game, same teams, just tweaked some things here and there. Honestly, it took me a little while to find something new that’s been implemented into the game, but now that i have found just a few things i really feel that this year’s edition of Madden has a chance to be different from all the others. Overall, I think that Madden is developing and with the right updates and tweaks the game can be a much better product. I would recommend this game to somebody that doesn’t get mad easily, because it is a very rage inducing game. Also, if you are looking for a game to just play with your friends, I would stick to Call of Duty or even the NBA franchise.

This game sells for $60 at stores like gamestop, target, walmart, etc.. The game will keep you entertained for weeks with its many game modes. The game has gone to far lengths to make madden more realistic and improve the gameplay quality and it was a hit. They created a all new ball-carrier moves and started from the ground up. They didn’t change everything though and kept their classic gameplay modes like Franchise.
This year madden featured Franchise mode in their game and it played off. Their motto is “Take your team all the way and put yourself in the middle of your team's franchise mode. The game mode has 3 basic options in the beginning. You get to chose between being a player, coach, or owner. As a player you can either create one or play as a real player in the league. As a player, You can choose between 4 different positions. (Quarterback, Running Back, Wide Receiver, and Tight End) You earn points from playing games and practice. You use those points to Upgrade your player and make him better. If you choose to become a coach this is like the regular season mode. You set season goals and if you reach them you can upgrade your coach to help be more persuasive in free agency. In this mode you get to play as any of the 32 teams in the NFL. Your goal in this mode is to win the superbowl. You can play with up to 32 different people and each person has there own team. In the owner mode you can to call all the shots, you can move your team to a different city, sign free agents, and control your coaching staff.
Madden this year created a brand new ball carrier moves. This makes it easier to stiff arm, hurdle, dive, or spin move a defender. With all the detail going into one moment of the game, I’m really surprised it runs that fluidly. EA sports also, improved it graphics and online gameplay. Beside some glitches and lags, the online gameplay has improved extremely from madden 16. Some of the things it has improved from madden 16, is the brand new kicking meter which makes it possible to miss and extra point or field goal. Another major change is that player ratings matter when performing ball carrier moves, the ratings might determine if you perform the move or not, before it was just user timing. Online game modes include Draft Champions (draft player and compete against other online gamers with your team) and online franchise. (play a season against other online gamers)
This game is rated E for everyone and I really believe that everyone will enjoy this game. Even if you aren’t a big football fan, EA Sports has put so much work into this game that I believe everyone will at least find one game mode that they enjoy. Multiple people have said this is the best madden game ever and I agree and once you start playing, you will be spending endless hours of fun on it.

I honestly have to say that it has taken a few steps backwards. To keep things short it just feels like it has more of a arcade type feel to it, in other words some of the skill has been taken out. I'm 3 games in (all decisive victory's) but at this point I am unsure if I'll end up logging so many games just out of habit or actual desire to play. I am very good at Madden but I have forced 4 fumbles per game (too many) and although I have only missed one extra point my opponents seem to struggle with all aspects of the kicking game. I know after my rating goes up I'll get harder matchups and I normally start with a record of 10-0 or 10-2 but idk if at some point even when I do reach that point I just feel like the games are gonna be sloppy. The run game is ridiculous too I play with the Jets and Matt Forte is a absolute monster running the ball, He feels unstoppable so I can only imagine what its going to be like to face AP or Gurley. Honestly 6 outta 10 may be a little high of a rating. I actually feel bummed out writing this I love football I love Madden but the truth is gonna come out I do think the changes will flesh out better in single player modes but as far as online it feels like the need to be skilled is getting stripped away.

This ends up taking you out of the action for a lot of plays whereas if the play calling was done by the cpu you could be put in the position to make plays. Playing vs the cpu team vs team becomes overwhelmingly easy as it does each year once you understand the AI nuances as this really is a game made for Human vs Human, but if you don't have solid internet connection or someone to play against your may not have fun playing countless hours. I bought into the hype that franchise was improved and that they really focused on it this year. HUGE MISTAKE!!! They've done very little of substance to the franchise mode. I actually think they've made it worse.

So let's get into this further. What really kills the franchise mode for me is the menu's. Why the Madden team can't settle on a decent functional menu is beyond me. I mean a key part of your season is your record and you can't even seen your record on the main menu screen. You have to search through millions of different screens to find the stats and info that you want. It's almost like they're so ashamed of the little addition they've made to things like scouting and the draft that they through it on the back page to hide it from people. I've had issues with Madden games in the past but this is the first one that I've bought and literally only put a few hours into it and said to hell with it.

The reason I did give it a few points though is that I do think the gameplay is improved. I admittedly haven't played a Madden since like Madden 13 so I don't know if the improvements were in past years games but the gameplay has a little better animations and the tackles flow better than in the 13 version. With that said, this is a pretty low bar I'm setting here. Overall I think to catch up with other sports games they need a completely new engine. The IGNITE engine is/was a complete failure imo. It seems like it was just a reskin or the older generations engine.

So just to sum this up, unless you only buy Madden purely for the gameplay and nothing else, STAY FAR AWAY FROM THIS GAME!!! All the so called improvements in the franchise mode are minimal and most of them are terrible.

A new madden that genuinely feels fresh rather than a half-hearted, contractually-binding annual roster update. [Nov 2016, p.91]

Quite simply, Madden NFL 17 is the best Madden game to date. The adjustments in the offensive and defensive gameplay mechanics really improve the realism and enjoyment of the game.
