    Life is Strange puts the player into an emotional Journey, you can't out this game down because of its story originality. Life is Strange makes the player get emotionally attached to the characters in the game very well. Life is Strange is a very original title. Rating: 9.6/10

    Life is Strange is a hard to judge objectively, especially because I don't want to spoil the story of this game. With all the positive feedback it has received from critics and fans alike you might think it is a flawless masterpiece or something, but it is not. I really had a great time with the game but it definitely has some glaring issues you should keep in mind before buying:

    This game follows the "Telltale Adventure Game" formula with all its flaws. For example really subpar graphics, clunky controls or the "illusion of choice" when in reality the story has been completely mapped out and you only have influence over minor details, rendering pretty much every choice you make inconsequential. Some might argue if you could call this a game at all since it practically plays itself.
    Now on top of that add some cringy dialoge and a story that starts out rather underwhelming and you can totally relate to the lower user reviews from People who were obviously really taken aback by these issues.

    Nevertheless, I (and most other people) still enjoyed the game, so why is that?
    Well, let's start with gameplay, because the game introduces a really fun mechanic: the ability to turn back time and reset the last few choices you made. I think it fits perfectly into this video game genre as it allows for interesting puzzles and also you can just fool around with all the dialoge options and then settle with the one you like best.
    Then there is the very unqique atmosphere of this game. I would describe it as somewhat dreamy and melancholic. This is mostly due to the amazing music and the artstyle (which despite the subpar graphics manages to create many beautiful images) but of course the story plays a major role in creating this vibe as well.

    The, in my opinion, really cool vibe was also what mostly kept me playing for the first few hours, because unfortunately, as I already mentioned, the game starts off kind of slow and underwhelming.
    I didn't really relate to the characters yet and felt like I was mostly just wandering around and talking to people without anything really being at stake or motivating me. In hindsite it makes sense in the bigger picture of the storyline but I really wish they had thrown in some more interesting puzzles and choices to keep you more interested for the first few hours.
    Somewhere between Episde 2 and 3 of this game was when it really took off for me (there are 5 Episodes in total). Thankfully the story starts shifting focus from highschool drama to mystery/crime and it starts ramping up the stakes dramatically. At this point I realy started caring about the characters, as they showed a lot more depth than I initally anticipated. The game also starts makeing more radical use of your time travel powers.

    The game gets really dark and trippy the further you progress. Thanks to the great characters and the Illusion that you are responsible for what is happening, I was completely hooked as the stakes were being raised higher and higher. It all culminates in an incredibly tragic and emotional ending that really caught me off guard.

    Conclusion:
    To me Life is Strange was a very memorable and emotional experience, despite all its issues. I really liked the vibe/atmosphere the game has going and the story, while starting out a little weak, really gained momentum as it fleshed out its characters and grew bolder with its storyline.
    If the positives caught your attention, chances are you are going to have a great experience. Just don't expect a perfectly polished game or something that will revolutionize the genre.    … Expand

    Puede que su resolución no esté a la altura del resto del juego, o mejor dicho, de la experiencia que es Life is Strange, pero pienso que su desarrollo es de tal valor que sería injusto minusvalorar el resto. There were many moments in this game that I didn’t think they would let happen, or let me play out. Things I’ve never seen another dev team in the same genre go to think lengths Life is Strange did. But with that praise, I was incredibly underwhelmed by the climax of the game where your final choice seemed obvious to me. The game was incredibly drawing; the atmosphere would just captivate me, and I loved walking through arcadia bay. The Development of all the main characters was deep and you really felt like the world around you was growing with you. And that only drug in the immersion in harder. It was breathtaking. My biggest gripe with the game was the graphics. I say all the time how graphics grated to me. Everything felt bad, Max’s expressions were flat, and the art design wasn’t great, and the lip syncing was abysmally bad. There’s a scene late in episode 4 where you’re at a pool party and the characters in the pool look like crowds in Smackdown Vs Raw. All in all, I loved the story and the experience made me want to see it to the end. It’s unfortunate that the end of the game was a mess of new mechanics out of nowhere and a lackluster ending to the cliffhanger left at the end of Episode 4. Also the Promotional Picture is hella misleading.

    Finally a game where the choices actually DO matter. Don't be mistaken, I LOVED the Walking Dead Telltale games but the choices there are not that important. Life Is Strange is a very important game, that conveys such a strong message and delivers a greeeaaattt story. It is kinda boring sometimes though, but I really liked the simple complexity / or / complex simplicity of the game. TheFinally a game where the choices actually DO matter. The both endings are sad but are great this game from the beginning chapter to its final chapter always amazed me!!     Its a point and click/graphic adventure game, the style is very similar to Game of Thrones.

    Favorite Character?

    With games like this (and even TV shows), the way I judge whether I like a character is I ask myself, “Could I see myself hanging out and being friends with any of these people?” The only character that I found remotely relatable to me was Warren. Max the main character seemed like a nice person but she wasn’t very relatable for me and pretty much everyone else in the game was pretentious and unlikable.

    Would you play it again?

    I probably wouldn’t play this game again but I would be willing to watch someone else play the game and see the decisions that they make.

    Any Complaints?

    I didn’t care for the last episode. The first 4 episodes were full of character development and a great story line but the final episode felt like it was just going in circles and full of unnecessary fillers.    … Expand

    Unbelievably good! Decided to play it when a friend recommended it and the characters are so engaging and the atmosphere feels so nostalgic! I felt so connected to the characters who suffered loss and regret and I never wanted this game to end! It actually made me depressed for a while which shows how well written this game was!     This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. I wanted to like this game, and I wanted to appreciate what the designers were trying to do, but in the end it fell flat for me. That's a shame, because there were some really great things in there.

    My first complaint was with inconsistent behaviour of the rewind power. Sometimes when you rewind, things go back to where they came from. However Max does not, and things Max is carrying do not. This led to some situations where I had no idea what to do, and then the rewind power happened to operate in a way that solved the problem. I didn't feel like I'd figured anything out, it was just a case of "oh, I was supposed to know to do that".

    Then there were the choices. The game warns you that your actions have consequences. However they are not consequences that apparently affect the story, as Kate always dies and the storm always comes. So they're pretty meaningless choices.

    I don't want to ramble on forever, so I'll skip to the end. Which sorta what the game did. After a long pointless episode where Max visits William, the game rushed through so many twists that I lost track and stopped caring, to a super-dramatic conclusion where you're forced to sit through the same dull sequences over and over until you finally convince the right butterfly to flap its wings to create the right tornado. And the long "dream" sequence at the end was one of the most boring game sequences I have ever encountered.

    I felt like the pacing of the game was very disjointed and the writing was kinda random. At the beginning I wondered what the significance of the storm was, but by the end I decided I would never understand and I stopped caring. I just wanted it to be over.

    I don't mind walking games, but "Life Is Strange" was more like a sitting game where I was forced through long sequences of schmaltzy dialogue, and then I was dragged through sequences where I was forced to make some actions which were ultimately meaningless. Nevertheless, I have bought the prequel. Life is indeed strange.    … Expand

As i worked through the episodes I became more and more eager and impatient to play the next one; rarely have I been so addicted to a game. Very rarely did the game get slightly boring. User control over the core rewind power you have could also feel more responsive. The graphics and art style work together well, and I never thought the game needed much more detailed textures. Certain music in the game contributed greatly to the emotion, while still sticking to the theme of the general soundtrack. I couldn't recommend the game enough if you enjoy a really good plot in video game medium. It was once free on PS Plus, so check your purchased games to see if you purchased it at the time and can play it now for free.… Expand

It's a graphic-adventure game, a modern-day successor to the point-click adventure; you spend most of your time interacting with objects, talking to NPCs, solving simple puzzles, or walking around searching for the next item / NPC / puzzle. To give you an idea of what you'll be up against: in Episode 1, two of the biggestLife Is Strange is a game that I like, and a tale I adore. It's a graphic-adventure game, a modern-day successor to the point-click adventure; you spend most of your time interacting with objects, talking to NPCs, solving simple puzzles, or walking around searching for the next item / NPC / puzzle. To give you an idea of what you'll be up against: in Episode 1, two of the biggest challenges are 'get past some rude girls blocking a doorway', and 'find a place to hide from your friend's rude stepfather'. It's a very sedate game, and not an especially difficult one – certainly not if you're willing to look up solutions online, as very few of the puzzles require a skilful or speedy completion, and the punishment for failure is minimal. The graphics are pretty decent considering its low budget, as far as I'm any judge on such matters; I noticed a handful of goofy facial animations throughout the game, but otherwise there were no flaws on that front, and the overall artistic design was consistently pleasant.

    However, whilst it would be reasonable to judge Life Is Strange based solely on its gameplay and graphics, I consider them as secondary factors; the vast bulk of my affection for it is down to the narrative. The story is one of the best I've ever seen in a video-game. First of all, it actually HAS a story. Do you ever get annoyed when people describe a game as 'having a great story' or 'excellent characters', only to play it and find a list of military objectives substituted for a plot, with a cast of bland, cliche-spouting characters who never develop? Well, this game takes introduces the player to two main characters with almost diametrically opposed personalities, and sends them on a journey together that sees them both evolve over time. Without wishing to spoil too much, you play as Max Caulfield, a photography student who finds her studies taking a back seat as she finds herself beset by bullies, old friends, the mystery of a missing student, and certain supernatural shenanigans.
    Secondly, this game managed to stir up emotions within me to a degree that no other game has (and indeed, very few stories of any sort have) ever managed. I don't just mean that it's a sad story – by turns, I found it amusing, charming, and thoroughly endearing. To give you fair warning, others have criticised the dialogue for being unrealistic or too prone to puns and quips, but I don't mind the former and actively adore the latter. The choices you make throughout the game are overruled by the Final Choice in terms of 'Which ending will I get?', but they nevertheless go a long way to deciding the tone of your experience, which can range from light-hearted, hopeful, mournful or tragic depending on your deeds. Whilst Life is Strange never brought me to tears, it certainly took me pretty darn close on multiple occasions. I cared about the characters, the story is well-paced (perhaps a bit on the slow side, but I enjoyed the experience enough that I didn't mind spending more time in the game), the music is wonderful, and the overall tone was perfectly calculated to appeal to a soppy fool like myself … for the most part, at least. It does get a tad darker at some points, so if you've played Episode 1 (and it's free, so I recommend you do) don't assume that the whole game is as mild and inoffensive as the opening act.

    The mere existence of this review is something of a compliment; I rarely post reviews when my opinion coincides with that of the majority, because I'm lazy and don't see the point in adding my voice to the chorus. For this game, however, I feel obliged to join in and sing its praises. I would be delighted to think that my words might convince others to experience (and fall in love) with Life Is Strange as I have. If you do try it, I hope if proves to be your cup of tea!    … Expand

    This review is written in 2018 and i still replay this game over and over. The character develpment is amazing, the attetion to detail is astouding, the graphics are so good that I was lost in the game world, the story is so emotional, if you haven't played then shame on you, I would totally recomend!

    The game is a masterpiece from Dialogue too characters too the choices you can make.
    Teenager getting the ability too change time but realises slowly that it can also have it's downfalls and not in all scenarios. Just like in real life sometimes certain choices seem good but can have a reverse effect.

    This game changed my life and it's so amazing.

    Besides the decent voice acting, Life is Strange is one of the most cringy, horribly written, and annoying games I've ever played. Hated almost everything about it.

All in all, Life is Strange is an adventure to experience, best enjoyed with plenty of free time and a fair amount of attention to detail.     I'm really surprised on how good this game was! It was an amazing ride! You can feel the character and Square Enix did a good job with that! Easily one of the best episodic game created!

    Well, when you're about to play a game like "Life is Strange", you can't expect loads of action or a rush of adrenaline to the brain every corner. These kinds of game are all about the story and how much it keeps you interested. It has its style, even graphically speaking, which are made, on purpose, not very rich in details, such as many other games on the PS4. And, since the PS3 and the Vita can easily run it, it's clear that graphics aren't spetacular, . It was a development choice for a smaller studio to create a very charming looking and really fun game. Also brings one new feature in terms of gameplay and it adds a brand new way to play games of this gender, interactive stories (not spoiling it).
    I, personally, love the movie "The Butterfly Effect", games like Heavy Rain and, by experiencing Portland, WA, once, the northwestern region of the US, therefore, this game is a delight. The story is very cool, sort of cliche if you think of all mistery, ficcion and drama plots we've seen on screen over the years, but playing it was very very fulfilling and it does make us care about what happens.
    Plus, played most of it on vacation. R-e-l-a-x-i-n-g. Add to all this a wonderful soundtrack (just wonderful!), lots of guitar melodies, alternative rock and folk music. Seriously, search for it on YouTube!
    A few flaws: The game is kind of short, but I wouldn't say that's bad, since it worked for it, it could be longer, though. Also, despite of being charming, more realism would make this such a pleasure to look at and I can't help but miss some realism. No one can't use this as foundation for not recommending LIFE IS STRANGE. Pun intended: nod to it. Go on and play it. I would only not recommend it if you don not like action-adventure interactive story-telling games, such as Heavy Rain, Beyond two souls, this one is more slow-paced, but it is also brilliant. I'm not taking one more point out of my score cause, man, the feeling brought by some moments while playing this (images + music) really make you forget those games that I compared this one with.     Lots Chinese forum users give it avg. 9+ rating. I Watched video walk-through as many recommended it as one of best English learning games. Have to say don't expect there exists this many ways to say weed and step-father.....Just kidding.......

    Life is Strange, and so is this game. I enjoyed it quite a bit but its not better than telltale games titles, especially because I dont dig main characters - one of them (Max) is ugly nerdy girl, whose story wouldnt be interesting to me even if she could manipulate time, and the other rebel girl is just dumb and also quite ugly teenager for me. Also - who the f*#ck is interested inLife is Strange, and so is this game.     Very good story. Emotional. Engaging. Voice acting... Every time I ear the soundtracks, it takes me to Arcadia Bay.

    I've played two times because of the two endings. Which one is the good one?

    Okay game, Story and music is good but gameplay never feels interesting and can feel repetitive at times though the story demands it. Not much of thrilling choice consequences is felt in the game like Heavy Rain or Until Dawn.

    First of all, I like the episodic take on stories if they are well implemented, like in Life is Strange or the Telltale franchise. And since each episode is around 2 hours long, and there are 5 episodes, you're in for a ride of a around 10 hours.

    Sure, the game also has a few flaws, like textures that are scarcely not loading on time, or lip syncing that seldom doesn't works. But these are problems that almost never happen, like 2 times in my play-through, though if they happen, it breaks the immersion.

    Now the music in this game truly fits the aesthetics of the game, you have to experience it to understand! So my advice for you, just test the first episode out, it's free now anyway. You'll probably going to love it! Enjoy!    … Expand

    A great game with a fascinating story. Very interesting characters with a fair amount of depth. While the first chapter is a little slow, the gripping storytelling from chapter 2 will keep you entertained until the very end. I had to dock points for the bad animations and (weirdly) bad running performance on my PS4.

    This was one of the best story mode games i have ever played (behind the last of us). Its mecanics work good but alot of times the lip sinc is way off, but the story is so so good that i can over look that. I went into this game with low expetitions but it blew me away. I highly suggest you get it or play episode 1 for free from the ps store.

I found this game fun except for the finding the F***ing bottles and the ending stealth bs. I did enjoy it but near the end I was just thinking can this damn game just be over?? It would be honestly higher if it fixed two issues in my opinion

    -The ending seriously 2 choices all that **** and 2 choices, either kill Chloe or kill the city...I chose killing the city so none of my choices mattered...

    gameplay=7/10: The game play incorporates the use of time travel which forms a different type of choice genre which i kind of wish was used more however i was not because it wouldn't feel unique. The game play uses this feature to make non repetitive and can be used for a variety of things and doesn't look like its trying too hard and more like its experimental. The element of choice in this game actually makes an influence on later dialogue and situations which really makes it seems that you must plan carefully more than any telltale game combined.

The story-telling is super emotional, well-thought out, gripping, suspenseful, etc. I can't even really call any TV shows or movies I've watched in a long time that were this good from start to end. I feel wiser for having played through the game, and I feel like I've experienced something that I can take with me long after my episode 5 end credits.

    All of the characters - major and minor - are believable, unique and complex, like real people. I really connected with all of the characters in some way, and if I didn't, I still felt something else for them. They were all very well developed. I really connected with Chloe especially - I knew someone sort of like her in my long past that meant a lot to me too, and I'm female and gay, so lots to relate.

    The sound track fits the game perfectly. The voice acting is incredible. The colours and attention to even the smallest details and consistency is truly amazing. The story has so much suspense, with lots of twists and turns that will keep you guessing for quite awhile, and everything makes sense when the answers are finally revealed. The themes of friendship and love are the most powerful I've ever seen done in pretty much any media.

    I can't really call this a game though - if you buy thinking you want a challenge or to experience a permanent failure - like jumping into a pit in a Mario game or losing all of your health in a shooter - then this game isn't for you (and if that's you, that's cool, but that also doesn't mean the game should get a 0). It's really an interactive story, that really connects with you on a personal level - something movies and comics simply can't do.

    In terms of mechanics within the game, I think the only criticism is the long wait times for rewinding large sections of the game, but that's honestly a minor blemish on an other perfect experience.

    Amazing game. After the first episode, things took off pretty fast, and I was hooked on the story and the characters. I just wish they made many more games like this.

    Life is Strange is a great game. The story is interesting and unpredictable, the voice acting is solid, and the graphics are decent enough too. My only issue is that the time powers do draw the tension clean out of certain dramatic moments. But if you like story-focused games, or simply a game with a great plot, pick this game up.

    I know people will disagree with me but honestly, i didn't find the great story that everyone told me or the likeable characters, by the end i was annoyed but almost everyone. I do recognize that there were some good moments and enjoyable passages but i was bored almost all the game.

It's emotioanlly heavy as well as fin, inventive, humorous, gut wrenching and uses time travel and manipulation as a hinge, and cleverly at that.

    Only negatives really are no replay value and it's not widely known enough!

No hay practicamente un solo personaje que no sea hostiable, el resumen es una GRAN perdida de tiempo. y el final apoteosico, te tiras todo el puto juego manipulando el tiempo, que nadie explica como puedes hacerlo, para que al final, si escoges el final "decente" fuese como si no hubieses existido. Si no haces todo lo que haces a lo largo de la historia, es la mejor forma de salvar el pueblo. Eso si, si te empeñas en salvar a la imbecil de tu amiga, pues que le den por culo al pueblo que podreis ir bien felices que pa eso habeis hecho el emo durante las interminables horas. Un juego pesado, lento, ñoño, estupido con lagunas increibles de argumento y fases estupidas solo para rellenar. Y todavía van y hacen una segunda parte.     For a teen drama, this turned into a surprisingly deep storyline as it dapples with time travel theory, mental illness and the perils of being a high school kid. Unfortunately the juicy parts don't come until the second half (from episode 3 onwards) with a huge plot twist that kickstarted a roller coaster set of events. The main characters each represented    Story and Characters: 8/10
    For a teen drama, this turned into a surprisingly deep storyline as it dapples with time travel theory, mental illness and the perils of being a high school kid. Unfortunately the juicy parts don't come until the second half (from episode 3 onwards) with a huge plot twist that kickstarted a roller coaster set of events. The main characters each represented individual pieces of a well-fitted jigsaw puzzle that was the day-to-day experience of going to Blackwell Art School in Arcadia Bay. Although I had issue with one character. I didn't feel that emotionally invested in Chloe which is pretty vital if you are to make the right choices as you play Max. I was conflicted with the fact, she had no more redeeming personality traits than say Victoria or Nathan besides the simple fact that she's Max's best friend.

    Gameplay 3/10:
    Probably the worst part of this game. And remember this is a "game" so I cannot really be lenient even if this not your run of the mill type. I nearly gave up by episode 2 simply because I couldn't stomach the shallow, filler-esque interaction with objects/obstacles that make up the majority of the gameplay. I wish I could just watch cut scenes and make decisions for the first 3 episodes because everything else was a grind.
    The dialogue choices are a big part of the game so I expected this to be done exceptionally well but they weren't. There were too many times where you were given only 1-3 words to hint at each major choice option that left you choosing blindly. This didn't happen enough at key moments to ruin the experience but it was a minor inconvenience.
    Even with my initial criticism, the gameplay actually gets better in the second half of the game as if the developers were learning of new, cool ways to utilise the time travel elements after episodes of primitive interactions.

    Sound & Graphics 8/10:
    The soundtrack was extremely fitting and provided an authentic atmospheric experience of an American adolescent in a rural town trying to find herself in a messed up reality. The graphics are obviously below-par for this generation but kudos to the artistic direction taken to not attempt to look "current-gen". This made the graphical presentation suitable and actually enhanced the experience. But the animation and lip sync were unforgivably poor throughout that made even some of the more important cut scenes an eye sore.

    Dialogue & Writing 4/10:
    Maybe I have rated this low due to my British upbringing but the dialogue for huge parts of the episodes were poorly thought out. It's amazing how the voice actors made every line sound authentic but couldn't mask the repetitive routes of conversations Max had with side characters. It tended to follow a pattern of: side character succinctly pouring their heart out and Max providing as little depth in reassurance as a 8-year-old with English as their second language. Aka "You're awesome, don't worry, everything will be okay". If someone told me Max was 14 years old and not actually 18, I would say that made sense. On top of this, at one point she was literally having the same conversation with everyone when searching for "that person" at "the party".
    In addition to rewinding time and making dialogue choices, you spent a lot of time investigating your surroundings and Max providing verbal commentary of her thoughts. These short expressions of thought were bland, predictable and didn't add anything to the storytelling. It reached a point where I stopped exploring my surroundings as hearing Max say the obvious drove me insane.

    Overall:
    I was satisfied by the end of it but couldn't overlook what a drag the first 3 episodes were. The writing should have been better even taking into consideration the maturity levels of the students. The game got better with the final 2 episodes being fantastic and actually utilising the potential of time-travel as a gameplay mechanic but with each gameplay element I've seen better.

    I would recommend this to:
    Any American who had a hard time in high school, there's a lot of themes you can relate
    Lovers of time travel theory. Make it to the Episode 4 and you're in for a ride. (Or just watch Stein Gate if you're into Anime, it does time travel a lot better.)
    Fans of Punk Rock, early 2000s, acoustic guitar music. The soundtrack is phenomenal in that regard.

    I started this game expecting an amazing, emotional story. I finished this game rather having experienced a dull one that did not make me want keep playing one bit. It is with great sadness I admit that the so called "cliffhangers" made me simply want to un-install the game for how unimpressive and predictable they were. Having this said, there were only two moments that made me not give this game an even worse punctuation:
    1. The ending of chapter 3, which truly made me think about the game for the entire time I was not able to turn on my console again. "Is this when it gets interesting?", I wondered time and time again, until I simply had to start the game to find out. By the end of episode 4 I felt even worse by discovering the one true plot twist that kept me thinking about this pretty much had no consequence on the story whatsoever.
    2. The entirety of the fifth episode. This was the episode that made me truly impressed while playing the game. Like many people, I almost cried at the end. It truly has one of the saddest endings I've ever experienced.
    Those two moments were great, but the first is only experienced, as mentioned, at the end of the 3rd episode. I'm talking about 3-4.25 hours of wasted time you could use while playing a better game or doing some else entirely (according to Square Enix, each episode lasts 2-2.5 hours). From that to the fifth episode, I welcome you to waste another 2-2.5 hours. We're looking at 5-6.75 hours of wasted time in such a monotonous game I won't gain back. Unless you are a true fan of the genre, I advise you not to make the same mistake.    … Expand

    I walked into this game knowing nothing about it. Only downloaded to try out since it was free for PS Plus members for June 2017. That being said I was pleasantly surprised by how engaging the story has been so far. The old school references brought back some of my own past from when I was a loner teen.

    This is not a game for everyone though and knowing your own tastes will be a factor if you will enjoy it or not. Since it's more of a heavy story driven, casual exploring game that is not in line with many of the action adventure that are popular today.
    The art work is well done and brings a unique feel that one only gets from games such as Shadow of the Colossus and ICO.

    As a guy that plays mostly fps games, I can safely say this is one of the best games I have ever played. This is the first game that has legitimately brought me to tears. It is a once in a lifetime experience that will ruin all other games for you. I wish I could rewind and play this game for the first time again.

    Basically a playable TV show with 5 episodes, but with a really good story, nice setting (I felt strong Twin Peaks vibe, which is never a bad thing) and overall I enjoyed the entire experience quite a bit.     You do play as a high school senior, and the game does a great job of feeling like you’re a high school girl, dealing with bullies, dealing with students having crushes on you, balancing friendships… and dealing with some pretty heavy emotional situations you’d expect from a bunch of high school kids
    if you have a heart, you will cry playing this game, multiple times…
    Where things get interesting is the rewind ability…
    This is still an adventure game but not a nonsense adventure game…
    it’s pretty easy knowing what to do in a situation, though one puzzle in a later episodes gets a little too complicated and slows the game down a bit…
    But puzzles are found both in the environment and in dialog…
    As you have to make sure you don’t say the wrong thing to someone while trying to get information out of them that you need…
    or if you don’t like a reaction they had, you can rewind time and try something else…
    As well as outcomes of a few important situations.. The game will indicate that a choice you made will have consequences and you can decide to deal with those consequences or go for a different outcome and deal with tem... but by time you learn what these consequences are, its too late to go back and change... so while I was worried at first.. This makes your decisions and choices still matter in the game…
    much like the telltale games, I wasn’t a fan of the sections that I had to walk around and interact with items in the environment…
    Most did add to the story…
    But a few did annoy and frustrate me and felt like they were there to just drag the game out
    10 hours of pure story though... definitely does get exhausting…
    so this isn’t really a finish in one sitting kind of game.. especially with the at times poor pacing…
    but the story telling here is so good that even if you do get tired you want to keep pushing to see what’s behind the next corner and what twist the game is going to throw at you next…
    People have been recommending this game to me since it came out, and I’m glad I finally got around to experiencing it
    The gameplay isn’t the best, but the powerful story telling makes Life is Strange a must experience game…

    But the story is absolutely captivating and the plot depends highly on your choices during the whole game.
    It's not just the story of a shy teenager who's attending a new school trying to make new friendships, there is a big mystery to solve about a disappeared girl and other important decisions to make, as the protagonist finds out to have a strong power: she can rewind time. You can choose when rewinding time, changing your decisions, your actions, your words. It makes the game more interesting and in the end there are just two crucial choices to take which really makes you feel bad. I appreciate the realistic dialogues, situations and troubles linked to her supernatural power.
    I like the story because since the beginning it makes you feel anxious and you want always to know how it will end. I absolutely love also the theme songs during the game, especially in the chapters finals.
    The gameplay, being an interactive drama, is quite basic, you just have to walk and press buttons when required. You definitely put yourself in the main character's shoes and this is what I loved the most in this amazing game, I think it is a masterpiece, unluckily one of the most undervalued games.    … Expand

You can select the ending you wanting. This is terribly wrong for the game that is story-based. They should have more than 5 endings at least and those endings should be able to select based on what you did from ch1-ch5. Yet, there is no best ending whatever.

    Puzzling solvign is ok, not the game strong point but not bad. Voice acting and character designs are superb. The main story apart from ending is very good overall (love Chloe so much). However, I also felt that many things were not reasonable.

    Characters/ The characters in this game are pretty well balanced, there is a good blend between different personalities and roles, and most importantly, key characters are compelling, enriched and very easy to get interested by them. Max can be so relatable to almost everyone that its so easy to see the life through her eyes, and its great to see many of these characters have layers in them, very rewarding to gain extra insight through simple things and narrative.

    Gameplay / Gameplay is very standard for this kinda games in this regard, pretty simple controls and more focused on the narrative and visual style (which is AMAZING btw) it has a very good soundtrack and the art and color palette are beautiful! A good vehicle for a great story.

    And boy about story.. this is the main reason y give this game a 10, i was completely absorbed by it.
    so many gut punching choices and also some sense of relief when choosing and liking the result you get, this game is a roller coaster that goes to places i never expected but that leave me absolutely thrilled by those twists and turns, this is where the game shines the most in my opinion.

    In the end Life is Strange is one of the most important and best reasons why i like games, because it tells a story, a great story and if you like that, you are in for a real treat. :)    … Expand

As you can rewind any decision you make it make it not as intense as it could have been. The game is great if you love the hippie culture

    Unfortunately, there are some aspects of the game that I couldn't totally agree, first of them being the graphics. I do understand the challenge of hand drawn graphics and the personality it gives to the game, but I still think that characters with a bit more of detail than Wii-looking models would have been a nice option for communicating emotions, which the game could have taken benefit from.

    Also, I did not totally like some game design decisions. Pointing out just one of them, I would have loved that the player would have had more freedom to solve problems using Max's rewinding power, instead of almost finding the way the puzzle was meant to be solved.

    At last, I was not pleased by the ending. At least the one I chose. And this is because, after going through the other one, I got the feeling that only one was meant to be the right for the developers, showing much more work behind it, while the other works kind of a quick way of getting through the ending without giving much explanation about some things.

    Overall, I think this is a game anyone willing to experience it will enjoy, and that will be loved specially for those who like story driven games and nice, fresh stories to be told. Unless you are completely sure you'll hate it, you should give it a try.    … Expand

    You fall in love with the characters and the world in this game. The first episode is amazing, but just like in tv shows, where things get crazy in the finale, things end up getting CRAZY in the later episodes, and when an episode ends, it feels like a breaking bad moment where you NEED to start the next episode immediately.

    If anyone has given this game bad reviews because of the graphics or lip syncing, then they're too picky. Life is strange's environment is amazing. The sense of atmosphere you get from wandering it's world is so real its almost scary. The score is so professionally done, I felt like I was playing a Hollywood movie. Yes, the lip syncing isn't perfect (the game was made on a small budget) but it clearly doesn't hurt the game, as the story and characters are the best thing about the game! I think it bothered me for the firs 5 minutes but then I got past it easily, and just kind of becomes part of the style of the game.

    The story is legit amazing, I guarentee you will fall in love with this game if you like story driven games. It's a high school simulator but feels like it was written by the creators of black mirror or something.

There doesn’t seem to be any conceivable way to die or lose the game – you’re just playing through a story about a bunch of losers who obviously will never make anything of themselves in their lives.     Never in my 24 years of gaming has a game affected me on this level. I am absolutely flabbergasted and emotionally drained from this game. Only a monster could make it through this game with a dry eye. I bought this on sale on the PSN store, and after I beat it I instantly went and bought the physical limited edition. No regrets.

The characters are memorable, the soundtrack is fantastic and the story is utterly immersing. A combo of Donnie Darko, Butterfly Effect and Twin Peaks, but a playable game! Some of the plot twists walloped me emotionally, something I've not felt since final fantasy 7 about 20 years ago.A truly special game.     The positives of Life is Strange is that it brings storytelling to a new level for the video game medium and it's world provides a lot of things to discover. You walk around the city as a photography student how gains the powers to manipulate time. There are chances to see an event and change it's outcome in different ways. Mostly to save your friend from death. Part narrative, part "I spy", part teenage drama this game does have a lot of enjoyment to provide.

    The downside of this game is that it does not make a lot of sense about what is going on. How Max, the main character, got her powers or why. With all the options and time-changing you'll be doing, you really only have 2 options that matter at all - which ruins that whole "your choices really matter" disclaimer dontnod provides.

    The next section has spoilers to the ending:

    Basically, after all the investigation and bonding in the previous chapters, Max gets two options: Let her friend die, or save the world. The game does not provide any reason to really care about friend (who's also a girl.) The game is obviously geared toward picking the romance options to make the player care about the friend. This is fine, but in a game that's all about choice its ruined when the player does not pick those choices. I didn't end up caring at all about the friend dying, the cost of the whole town's population well out weighed one persons life. Now this choice is much harder if you choose the romance route since they're lovers, but I'd like a game to not let me chose options that's against the intended emotion of the story. No one can have this opinion without being labeled "homophobic" apparently, but I generally didn't feel any romance between the two. A game should not punish you for making a choice it provides you with. The punishment being a real shoe-horned ending with emotions that came out of nowhere - which do feel very much in place if you pick the romance options.

    Beyond that the source and reasons for Max's powers are never explained in the slightest. One can infer that the meddling of time is causing a time paradox in which two timelines or universes are crashing, but like most of this game the "answers" are just theories.

    I don't know why people are praising this game so much, I mean it is a good game that will make you engage in the story and make you feel for the characters but its not a 10 out of 10 content. Its an episodic game just like Telltale but Telltale is really good at it. If they want to give a gap between the episode, the maximum time limit should be 1 week but instead they are using 1 month of time period and that is really annoying.
    Now again about this game, it has a well driven story with really good characters but the voice and the mouth movement didn't match at all, and everyone had the same expression. If people are happy then facial expression of everyone looks exactly the same, its not like that someone is more or less happy but its the same.
    There are moments that will make you think afterwards but its not that kind of moments that will make you wanna play again. There is one thing that i really liked is that every choice you make in this game has a consequence.
    So the final verdict is that it would be preferable that you rent this game instead of buying it because there is a chance that after completing you will never play again.    … Expand

    Kids nowadays needs to differentiate between a hard core Game and a point a lick story to follow based on choices . Life is strange is a great game and has an epic story however graphically its very acceptable , dialogue is very well done , the story is epic , worth playing just for the sake of the story. however i can`t compare this to the hard work put on the Witcher 3 or any other gamesKids nowadays needs to differentiate between a hard core Game and a point a lick story to follow based on choices .     A game for those searching for a drama-story. It's easy to get hooked along with the characters. The pace is okay, never gets boring. To be able to rewind time is an awesome feature, but it kind of breaks the immersion. And by the time I had finished the game, I felt the last episode kind of ruined the experience somewhat. Even managed to get stuck in time-rewind phase where one "badguy"A game for those searching for a drama-story. It's easy to get hooked along with the characters. The pace is okay, never gets boring.     This game has very interesting gameplay. While not as much control over the story as they lead to believe. It is remarkably engaging. It felt like you were a character in the middle of a mysterious television series on Netflix. Lots of teen angst and cursing. The story unfolds slowly but once through the first episode, the pieces tie together and you are hooked.

    An honest, sometimes even painful, story about friendship and finding yourself. Life is Strange is played with a lump in the throat and its ability to make a grown man tear up is its true "power".

    The Limited Edition of Life is Strange doesn’t introduce anything new. The graphics are the same, as well as individual episodes that form this wonderful adventure. The art book and soundtrack are still a nice plus that could push some collectors to purchase this edition.
