This game RAWKS. The open world Middle-earth is so fun, I've spent hours there. Also, a horse customiser! Clearly a stroke of genius... Keep 'em coming you TT, you crazy diamonds.

Really I'd give it about an 8.5 but I gave it a 10 to offset the obviously ridiculous low scores. Even a critic gave this a 60?!? This game is a solid 80 at worst. Sorry but just because some of the optional side-quests can feel repetitive doesn't mean the game gets a horribly low score.

All the cool stuff we've come to know and love about Lego adventure games along with some of the best graphics currently available on the next-gen systems.
Hobbiton (the shire) feels like you are walking around middle earth with lego characters and objects mixed in.

Fans of Tolkien as well as lego fans will love this game.

This is a fantastic game in the Lego game franchise, to be honest this game has bought me back in love with the Lego games and since buying this i have gone out and bought Lego marvel and Lego movie, if your a fan of Lego games you will love this, however it does feel a bit rushed, it has some bugs and confusing moments at times but that only has a minor effect on my overall score for the game.

Played through as the 2 player couch co - op / game never disappointed.

I thought this was great evolution on the last Lego Lord of the Rings. Characters seemed more diverse in terms of abilities than the previous title, combat is improved through less repetitive bash and more quick time events and feels a little more immersive. At the heart of course it is a lego game, explore not particularly complex things, break stuff, find coins and roam around having fun.

Co-op cameras seemed better all round for tracking each player as well. Had alot less issues with falling off due to confusion I had in battles and exploration in the previous title.

Great if you like Lego and the Hobbit !

Lego The Hobbit is in many ways a great game. It is full of lots of challenging puzzles that aren't beyond completion but definitely get you to think. The only drawback I see is quite an annoying one, although understandable due to the time of release. Nether the less, I would certainly recommend buying it! Expand

I don’t understand all the low scores I’ve played most of the LEGO games and this is one of my favorites in the LEGO genre. Took a good amount of time to get the platinum trophy. (I don’t use guides) Was a good time and rewarding time investment I highly recommend this entry.

I can't work up the energy to actively dislike the LEGO games so long as they're this innocuous and harmless, and spanning just over a dozen levels, LEGO The Hobbit doesn't waste too much of the player's time. But, with all of the most fitting licenses having been used up already, the LEGO spoof series is losing its relevance, and it's not a particularly good time anymore, either.

It would've been much better it it had conviction and went fully role-playing Lego game. [Issue#244, p.63]

Never revolutionary, but it's still a cheery, tipped-out toybox filled with jokes, puzzles and loving references to Peter Jackson's new film trilogy. [June 2014, p.92]
