    Quite a disappointment. As I love philosophical topics, I thought I would enjoy the experience, but it appeared empty and boring. I like the idea, but not the effect. I feel that the simplicity, that should encourage you to think and "enjoy the silence" has no actual sense in this case. No matter how hard I tried to like like the game, I felt it's meaningless. Two points for nice visuals

    I like art, story and meaning beyond just gameplay but this game is such a disappointment for me. I don't understand why all the love it got from the critics. There are some pretty parts but overall a dull boring game. It tool me about 1 1/2 hours to complete and I could not wait for it to be over. Don't buy but give it a try since it's free on PS4 this month and see if you agree.

    I do not understand the hype for this game. It's not challenging, you don't die, there's barely any story. It's just plain boring, and I was thankful it only went for 2 hours.
    The graphics/visuals are nothing groundbreaking either, which is apparently the best part of the game.

    By all means play it, but don't go in with high expectations

    I got this game after reading all the good reviews in here and in other sites. I was really looking forward to get into it. When the credits rolled after an hour and a half I could not believe it. I'm sorry, this isn't even a game. You just go forward, that's it. And as far as the atmosphere goes, which is what everyone is praising, I played it after beating Bloodborne, so yeah, the barI got this game after reading all the good reviews in here and in other sites.     I really don't understand why this game has received such high remarks? I could only get through 20 minutes of the game before I was bored of walking through the desert doing nothing. I wish I could stick with it but It's so incredibly boring.

    I got it for free on ps+ and I deleted it the same day. It looks and sounds awesome but the gameplay is so boring. I finished it in under 2 hours and I'm glad I didn't have to suffer through more. The best phrase that comes to my mind is "pretentious walking simulator"

    Dull and pointless sum up the game. It looks OK for an indie game, but it could have come out two game generations ago. It's short, there's no replay value and there's very little first time play value.

    This game has high reviews purely for one reason- people view it as abstract art, not a game.     The game might of been better if it was finished. The graphics aren't very pretty, and the story dumber than flumber. My first time playing the game, I tried to beat the first. The PS3 wasn't a very good console choice eather because it doesnt have enought prosessing prower to handle this stupid, a better choice would of been the 3Wii S or the 3 dimensional portable. After 20 minutes of play, I was hoping a giant sand worm would pop up and eat my character ... but my hopes were dashed; the boredom continued unabated.

    Thank god I didn't buy this game. If I didn't get it for "free" (PS+) I wouldn't even buy it. But since I got it for free, why not to try it. And I was disappointed.     After years of reading rave reviews and suggestions that Journey is "one of the greatest games ever made", I finally played this game and I feel like I'm taking crazy pills because it's one of the most bland, boring, unrewarding experiences I've ever sat through.     The game was boring, extremely simple and very short. I did not manage to get immersed and I was always thinking when is something fun going to happen? But that “fun” never came. The only positives is the art style and music which gave it some kind of charm… I guess. In the end it was not a game for me and it gave me no enjoyment playing it.

    After getting 100 percent I can't think of anything I liked about the game. It's short with subpar graphics. The story is nearly non-existent and it forces you to play online as long as you have an internet connection with probably the most rudimentary options menu I've ever seen. The background plot is presented mostly through murals and can be told in a couple of sentences, and that's not a summary, that's the whole literal "story". So, there was a civilization of people who harvested some energy from nature to power up their cities. The energy ran out, so they started a war which destroyed the civilization, and now their souls or something somehow spawned one traveler, which is you. Amazing, very touching, so enlightening. The events of the game are even simpler and can be summarized in just one sentence. You start off in a desert, see a mountain, reach the mountain, fade to white, the end. For f**k's sake.

    I totally don't get all the praise this "game" got, it's all wannabe "artsy", all style over substance. I got it on sale and regret every cent spent on it. I would have given it a 1/10, but the visuals are really good, so it's a 2. Still a piece of s**t, though.    … Expand

    I almost fell asleep playing this. Not exciting. Some of the positive reviews praise this game's symbolism, that it's a metaphor for something existential - whatever. I don't get it. It's very pretty, but it mostly plays itself. It's like Sonic the Hedgehog.

    Simply put if you like walking simulators and pretty visuals then you will like this game because there is nothing else to it. The only story is by what you see, the only gameplay is walk and jump that is it. There is zero reason to play this game a second time. Its not a game its an un interactive movie

    If this game was made by a student, alone, you probably congratulate said student on churning out ok work.     This is not a game. It is a dull and boring 90 minute film. I do not understand the hype. There is no challenge, no story, nothing... Thank god I did not pay for it. I would not recommend it even for Play Station Plus players who can get it for free this month.

    I can't believe how over hyped this slow walking simulator is. incredibly boring. couldn't stand playing it for more than 10 minuets. people talk about art and inspiration because on one sunset scene, so what , other games like the witcher3 and MGS5 look 1000 times better . this garbage is aimed at hipsters who pretend to be artistic and try to find meaning behind boring nonsense .

    I have played this game on playstation 4 and 3 and I don't know why is getting so much positive stuff! It's not that good its only like 2 hours long and at times it can be really boring!

If you want a basic puzzle game to plod through with nice art then Brothers Tale of Two Sons is amazing and wipes the floor with this junk on every level.     One of the shortest and most boring games I ever encountered.
    Honestly, I forced myself to finish it, so this review could be written with full overview of the game, and not just the first chapters.
    Even though it may be called beautiful by some, it is simply not fun at all.
    Just running, running, running, kind of little puzzle, running again, etc.

Yo soy un gran fan de esta clase de juegos, y he jugado a cientos de juegos artísticos, pero este, no entro. El problema con Journey es que es muy corto, se siente muy incompleto y el precio es de 15 dolares. Lo he terminado en una sentada, en 2 horas, y que he entendido del universo del juego? Nada... Absolutamente nada... Bueno, quitando de que eres un "viajero" y tenes que llegar a una montaña, y después al llegar te convertis en una luz y... ya esta. No hay explicaciones de quien eres, que haces ahi, quienes son los sujetos vestidos de blanco, que son los restos de esa civilización, los que te arrancan parte de la bufanda... NADA! Muchos dirán de que el juego es emocional, bello, una experiencia audiovisual, a libre interpretacion... Es que, es ese el problema. La música y los gráficos cumplen extraordinariamente bien! En eso no hay quejas... Como experiencia, el juego cumple. Aunque gráficamente se ve bastante pálido en zonas oscuras, porque la PS4 no tiene la paleta de color negro, igualmente esta genial. Y el personaje principal, si bien no tienen ni carisma al no hablar, sus animaciones y su diseño son interesantes. Pero ahora hablemos del problemon del juego... La jugabilidad... Y es que la jugabilidad no intenta nada. Es que no intenta nada nuevo a comparación de otros juegos del mismo estilo. Haber, yo soy de los que piensan que innovación no quiere decir calidad, y que un juego que no innova, si cumple y tiene algo interesante, puede ser un muy buen juego incluso. Pero Journey es simplemente caminar de un punto A a un punto B, resolviendo puzzles super sencillos y la historia es inexistente. No hay ninguna explicación para todo lo que has hecho. Se supone que es un juego abstracto... pero es tan excesivamente abstracto, que parece hecho así solo por pereza. Al terminar el juego no hay nada mas que hacer, salvo empezar de nuevo y conseguir todos los trofeos... Que desaprovechado... El multijugador también... Podrías explorar mas partes del mapa para encontrar coleccionables.... podrías tener un recuento de las personas con las que jugaste en todas tus aventuras.... Ni siquiera lo intentaron. Y hablando del multijugador, no me habría enterado del online si no lo hubiera googleado al ver nombres de personas aleatorias al terminar la partida. Quitando la música y los gráficos, no hay ningún punto realmente positivo, mas alla de que ciertas personas lo vean como una "experiencia audiovisual atractiva.... Que es esto? Una película? O un juego? Porque hay juegos que parecen películas que son muy buenos juegos, esto no es ni siquiera una buena película, ya que todo queda al final a libre interpretación, y si bien esta bien que hayan secretos en la trama, que la trama se base únicamente en secretos, resulta en dar lugar a un producto sin trama y hecho a las apuradas.... Y en consecuencia, mucho menos un juego, y no es barato precisamente! En mi opinión, tendría que estar gratis, mejorar la historia y añadir mas rejugabilidad para poder salvarse.… Expand

    Купил я эту поделку в конце 2015, начитался "отзывов", игра года и т.д. Я честно её прошел, наверное, посидел, подумал, а что это ваще такое? За что я деньги отдал? (хорошо скидка была 80%). Это поделка на коленке, без сюжета, без.... да без всего!
    Я искренне не понимаю, почему эту парилку игрой называют? Может я от моды отстал, но называть это "игрой года"?    Видал я дерьмо, но такое!

    Невероятно унылый забег по пустыне с решением головоломок. Ничего запоминающегося в этой игре нет, абсолютная пустышка. Пару баллов за визуал но в остальном полный 0

    One of the most hyped games ever. There are not dialogues. There are games with better graphics than this game. It felt more like a walking simulator than an actual game. I do not understand the hype. I don't feel it poetic either. It's just a game where I had to walk for 2 hours doing nothing. May be others might have loved it, but, for me , personally, this game is way over hyped.!

    This game is just pressing the joystick forward and jumping. It has no philosophical or intrinsic meaning at all, that's just a veil that people put in front of them willingly to pretend their experience was anything but that of pushing a joystick forward.     Wow pretty boring to say the least...and all over in 90 minutes. The music and graphics are ok, but there's virtually nothing to do. Felt like someone was trying to sell me religion! Don't waste your money!

    Boring walking simulator like, you just move slowly on the map and it doesn't add anything attractive in therms of gameplay, i'm glad is short.

    Um dos piores jogos que possui o desprazer de jogá-lo! Não entendo o porquê de tanto "hype", jogo simples e muito mal produzido! Não me chamou atenção em nada! Merece um nota 3 ou mais baixa!

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. The ending killed any chance that I'll ever boot up this game again.

    You're a lil dude wandering the desert and some ancient ruins, on the way discovering what happened to a lost civilisation i guess.

    ---{ Gameplay }---
    This is at best a walking simulator with light platforming. The reason I've given a low score is the end. You make your way through most of the game and when your each the mountain at the end your lil dude gets cold and loses his scarf and starts walking slowly, and... it's so bloody slow. I keep reading how it's supposed to portray the hardship of old age, or the struggle or whatever, but it DOESN'T because you're SITTING at HOME, PRESSING a BUTTON. For TEN. MINUTES. And quite frankly that's some hipster ****

    Very pretty, cool art style, lighting was nice.

    Amazing. The music changes with what you do, love that.
