It’s a simple remaster, but it makes a work of art all the more beautiful and immersive.

It’s as much a part of the PlayStation legacy as Ico is, as Shadow Of The Colossus is. Its place in PlayStation legend goes beyond its similar presentation and taps into something more sublime, something more exhilarating.

Journey is masterful. It's meaningful. You won't remember the details of every journey, but every journey is unforgettable. You'll have no choice but to play it again and again.

If you don’t know Journey, get ready to get excited. Not only because technically it is a convincing port. But more importantly because even after three years this masterpiece of reduced game design is as captivating as ever.

Still one of the indie game greats. Journey is must-play material on PS4. Wants for extras, however. [October 2015, p74]

Short but intense and especially memorable. You can not say that Journey exploit the technical capabilities of PS4, but even with those, we continue to one of those experiences that every gamer should experience once in a lifetime.

Journey is the best co-op game, most subtle storytelling and the most beautiful virtual piece of art we have seen these last ten years. The PlayStation 4 compliments that. Even though the visual optimization is small, this is a diamond that does not need a lot of cleaning.

Journey was a masterclass in emotional design when it came out. This sharper, crisper version still carries that badge.

Journey keeps all of its audiovisual and emotional charm in PS4, with slight visual arrangements, and the feeling that you are playing a unique experience. A true gem that doesn't age.

Journey is still the amazing experience it was in 2012, with upgraded graphics. If you haven't played it yet this is a must play title to have, simply because it offers a unique experience not quite like anything else.

Just as Journey is a beautiful game, it has a beautiful heart, and that makes the ending (which I won't spoil, even though you really should have experienced it by now), all the more heart wrenching, but ultimately beautiful.

Journey is a unique experience that has not aged at all since it was originally released on Playstation 3. On the contrary, the improved graphics makes the experience even more immersive. This is the closest we have come to the expression ”to play a painting”.

Journey is an evergreen experience that can still fascinate every gamer, coming today to PS4 in a beautiful and sleek edition powered by the high definition and the the liquid 60 frames per second.
  21. 100
Journey is minimalist to allow you to fill in those gaps with your own emotion and experience — to apply your personal situation and make the story your own. It’s a simple beauty, but one that shines brightly and now has the opportunity to be played by millions more thanks to its stunning upgrade to PS4, with beautiful lighting and environments that impress.
  22. Is this just a game? I can feel this game, I can feel this journey in my heart. Great art design and an unforgettable experience.

Anyway, Journey on PlayStation 4 is undoubtedly the definitive edition of an instant classic. It’s not drastically different and there really isn’t any new content, but the upgrades included in this package are noticeable and appreciated, and vault the production into the stratosphere.

With Journey, director Jenova Chen presents intimacy as a mirage in a desert and fits inclusivity into an abstracted model.

If you are returning to Journey, a higher resolution and a higher frame rate are your ostensible rewards for returning--a return that doesn't cost you anything if you already own the game on the PlayStation 3. But Journey's real rewards aren't so pedestrian. Journey offers you comfort. It gives you companionship in a lovely but forsaken world. It gives you reason to dream even when facing loss.

Let's make it clear: Journey was one of the best games of the last generation, period. And now, in PlayStation 4, looks even more beautiful, so even if you played it before, you'll want to check it out again. If not: just enjoy one of the best experiences you'll play on a console.

Journey is a true masterpiece. A sublime poetic experience in which all videogame elements combine perfectly to create an unforgettable trip. This PS4 version adds 1080p 60fps, which is significant but remains a detail as the original work stands for perfection. A splendid game forever, to put in all hands yesterday, today and tomorrow.

If you judge a game solely by its complex battle systems, intricate puzzles, or branching upgrade systems, Journey is likely a disappointment. If you’re open to that often nebulous realm of how a game might elicit emotion and the artistic potential of interactive narrative, Journey is an absolute must-play.

It's rare to find a video game, especially one so short, that can evoke such deep philosophical thoughts about your own existence (no exaggerating). It's not your typical video game. It's not your typical piece of entertainment. It's not something that hemorrhages explosions, gore, or lengthy cinematic cut scenes to tell a story. There isn't even dialogue! It's a tribute to minimalism in every single way. This experience is not for everyone, but if you are an avid gamer with a hunger for a deep story and rich artistry, then it's a must. Full Review »
