    First let me say that I have the second release PS4 but now a days I am playing on PC. I loved the first game for me it was better then God of War b/c's of they world building worked better in Zero Dawn for "ME". This one it maybe obviously that it was not meant to be on the PS4 but I still got.     I'll start with the worst part of the game - the combat system. Not only did the developers decide to cram +100500 skills here, but they also implemented it in such a way that you can probably play with pleasure only on very simple difficulty. Not only did the developers decide to cram +100500 skills here, but they also implemented it in such a way that you can probably play with pleasure only on very simple difficulty. I've played 60+ hours on very hard difficulty. And the only thoughts that come to me during every fight are "If only I didn't get stuck! If only the hit-box would work as usual!". Aloy gets stuck in every stone and step, while jumping all the time strives to cling to some kind of ledge, from which you can still unhook in the heat of battle, and opponents even when you are level 50 can at a random moment make you a one-shot - the last time the wavebiter killed me like that was in the last cauldron - it’s just that at the next roll he decided that his usual attack should take all his health. Fights with several opponents are generally quiet horror. It's easier to fight a thunderbolt in a wasteland than two snaptooths in a small rocky arena. Opponents attack on cooldown, and sometimes, performing an attack at the same time can make a "one-shot". The situation is similar with people here - it is easier to fight effectively with one elite than with a crowd of archers. Human bosses are something too. The battle with the Fortress (the final quest of the arena) comes down to randomness. Whether she decides in the second phase of the battle to draw her bow and fire an uninterrupted and unblockable series of shots point-blank, or she will carry through and just have to dodge a melee attack - the outcome of the battle depends on this.
    Separately, it is worth mentioning the technique of treatment. If in Zero Dawn you could calmly not use a single heal on the highest difficulty with the heaviest opponent, then in this part a third or a quarter of the battle comes down to healing. In Zero Dawn, you still had to farm for heals, but for the most part they are not needed in such quantities.
    I don't think that I am one of the worst players on the console, but even if you look at the leaderboards of the arena (where you have to fight with machines), then the first (1 out of 5), the easiest test - only 200 people passed it! After that, I decided to finish the story and score on all side activities.
    Good equipment can save the situation with a fight, but in order to buy and upgrade it, you will have to suffer for hours trying to knock out the right parts. Firstly, you need to find the right car, secondly, take away a special part from it, and thirdly, fill up the car itself (not all parts go astray). There are no problems with light and frequently encountered machines (apart from the fact that the part still needs to be hit). But what to do with thunderstorms and machines of this class? You will have to fill up not one such car, but several. Each will have to spend several minutes of battle, and even more to collect the necessary resources! And some cars still need to be found! In general, if in the first part you had to collect equipment for hours, then here you will have to spend days, and if you don’t have a vacation, weeks to collect all the equipment!
    Quests here for the most part are not interesting, neither the main plot, nor the side ones. There are exceptions, but in general it all boils down to the fact that, for example, they tell you about a couple of lovers, and after 5-10 minutes a tragedy - the guy died. Well, why should I care? I knew him? Maybe his personality was described by other quests? No. This quest could be put into some datapoint that could be read. And so almost everywhere.
    The open world from the point of view of its study is made poorly - all this need to grind resources and go through uninteresting quests to anyone simply kills it. If Zero Dawn you could even vacuum it in a day, then it will take about a week to kill it here.
    And a small review about the main plot and the world of Horizon as a whole. If in the first part we were clearly given to understand that the Forerunners were not far from our time culturally and somewhat even technologically, then with the introduction of new information about the technological development of mankind into the plot, some kind of nostalgia disappeared or something. After passing the game, I got the feeling that this is not all about you and me and not about a possible path for the development of mankind.
    In general, I advise you to go through the game only the main plot, the missions of "partners" and the camps (not outposts) of the rebels. Play at the "narrative" level. At a minimum, this will allow you to miss 80 percent of the negative points.    … Expand

    As in Horizon Zero Dawn, Forbidden West is an okay game to play if you don't care at all about interesting characters or a plot with any depth.
    However, as a multi-decade gamer, I can only laugh in pain as Aloy, the main character of the Horizon Games has managed to become an even more obvious depiction of Mary Sue, she is neither interesting nor fun to play with while being able to do anything.

    Just okay... I kind of have a gripe with them copypasta'ing all enemy types from the first game, and I don't like the voice over audio sourcing.

    Not much more to say so far... the gameplay is as you would expect from the first game and is serviceable in that case.

    This blows the first game out of the water, and that says a lot! The new features were very thoughtfully implemented and well done. The story is excellent, the voice acting is phenomenal, and the characters are very well developed. There are some bugs but nothing game breaking at all.

    Графен и геймплей шикарный, глобальный сюжет и саунд норм, всё что касается истории и миссий связанных с разными племенами как и в первой части неинтересный мусор. Из реальных минусов для меня лично стала внешность гг конечно же, реально что за пацанка, распухла как будто не просыхает пол года, ещё пятна какие-то красные на лице непонятные как у бомжихи. Ещё снег какого-то хрена урезали,Графен и геймплей шикарный, глобальный сюжет и саунд норм, всё что касается истории и миссий связанных с разными племенами как и в первой части неинтересный мусор.     The controller (and its buttons specifically) were designed as L1/R1 to be used by the pointing fingers and L2/R2 for the middle finger (just as the fingers order on hands): but Sony wants players to struggle with playing the game contrary to what is natural: in real life nobody fires a weapon with the middle finger. It’s not only annoying: when the in game on screen instruction buttons are opposite to the one changed by button alignments thus become very confusing too.

    The Game is mediocre, quite boring, not a lot new, more like just a more fancy expansion.

    These games are not made for the players’ enjoyment anymore, but to force their limiting ideas onto the players.    … Expand

    Печально что в студии не поняли за что всем понравилась Zero Dawn, минимум изменений по сравнению с предыдущей частью, абсолютно проходная история да и игра по большому счету.     Don’t fix what’s not broken. The first game was incredible for the story and the combat. Why would you touch the combat? Anyways, I stopped playing during the first mission after probably the 4th cut scene. Sure I can skip them but I’m not wasting my time. The crafting is tedious.     Horizon Zero Dawn was one of those remarkable games in a league of their own that you probably end up remembering for the rest of your life (I'll let you know in a few decades). As a massive fan, I went into the second one with very high expectations, fully knowing that doing so often leads to disappointment with sequels. Well, I was wrong. What made Zero Dawn great, Forbidden West hasHorizon Zero Dawn was one of those remarkable games in a league of their own that you probably end up remembering for the rest of your life (I'll let you know in a few decades). As a massive fan, I went into the second one with very high expectations, fully knowing that doing so often leads to disappointment with sequels. Well, I was wrong. What made Zero Dawn great, Forbidden West has improved upon in ways I did not think were possible.

    Compelling narrative, astounding voice acting even for secondary side quest characters (more on those in a sec), facial and body animations to go with it, jaw-dropping environments, and a really fun gameplay have already made this an automatic GOTY for me. Large open worlds are nothing new, but Guerilla Games have managed to do something that is very difficult to put into words, and saying that "it feels alive" is very reductive. This isn't an Assassin's Creed game (no shade, I love AC), where you will travel across the Mediterranean to kill a guy and will often do so by dodging a long string of fetch quests that do very little to entertain or progress the plot. In Forbidden West you will traverse the world, watching biomes transition around you; you will occasionally run into groups of humans fighting machines and it will be up to you whether to help them or not. Sometimes this will turn into a side quest; other times you will run into those same people (I really struggle to call them NPCs, that's how alive they feel) at a later point in one of the many, bustling settlements that dot the map. But you never feel like you're taking a distracting detour from your main mission while engaging with these characters. Every subplot, every cutscene and conversation (seriously, watching characters' animations during dialogues never gets old), every piece of lore you find, helps build an excruciatingly detailed, living and breathing world that I can never imagine getting boring. All I can say at this point is that I hope we get years' worth of DLC.

    Obligatory performance bit: I'm running it on a PS4 Pro and it's near-flawless. There's occasional texture-popping and I've noticed a couple of bugs, but other than that it is an exemplary feat of optimisation. Hats off to GG!    … Expand

Beautiful new locations, new mechanics that make traversal enjoyable, awesome new machines to fight, and fun new weapons and skills to fight them with. And an in-game board game to learn and master, to boot.
    I was expecting this game to suffer    I thought a game following up something as great as HZD couldn’t live up to the expectations, but this game is just as great as the first, and more. Beautiful new locations, new mechanics that make traversal enjoyable, awesome new machines to fight, and fun new weapons and skills to fight them with. And an in-game board game to learn and master, to boot.
    I was expecting this game to suffer a bit graphically on PS4, but it looks incredible, and has a good frame rate. If you want an engaging story and enjoy a good challenge killing monstrous machines, I recommend this game, and the first.

    There are a few minor bugs I’ve noticed here and there, but nothing game breaking, and I’m sure they’ll be fixed soon enough.

I’m not sure why everyone is complaining but maybe there are bugs further in the game. One area where there still could be some improvement is the UI of the menus for the workbench and other fullscreen UI.     J'avais bien aimé le premier opus, ce nouvel episode est encore plus joli. L'histoire est vraiment entrainante, avec pas mal de quetes annexes, de jolis graphismes et une bonne fluidité de jeu.

La historia es, sin más, demasiado interesante y tiene varias horas de duración aún si decides hacer únicamente las misiones principales. Es un juego de muy alta calidad que ha mejorado aspectos de la primera entrega, añadiendo nuevas actividades y más contenido a lasJuego increíble, aun en su versión de ps4 tiene una gran optimización y permite disfrutar de esta gran experiencia. La historia es, sin más, demasiado interesante y tiene varias horas de duración aún si decides hacer únicamente las misiones principales. The amount of things to do that are almost exactly the same activity is upsetting, as I find the content to be empty and chore-like, I don't particularly feel like the nuances they have added has done anything to disrupt the standard that shouldThe game is OK, and I find the reviews here to be over-hyped.     I always find climbing something to know where I am a chore in a game. The radio towers in this game are okay, but still this game design component was never something I could be a fan of.

    Hunting is about the same as the old game, just a few more tricks.

    After playing for a few hours, I requested a refund as it felt like the iterative steps this took towards improving the gameplay from the last game still left me feeling like the experience was a chore and was not worth my time. Also Aloy is not a character I felt was relatable or that I could feel personally invested in, which is why I give this a 7 overall. Good graphics and environments is not enough, gameplay must be the standing legs to make a game good, and this was just okay.    … Expand

    Muy buena optimización para las consolas de antigua generación. A pesar de tener algun que otro bug (que rara vez sale), la secuela de Horizon zero dawn trae un sin fin de nuevas caracteristicas con respecto a la primera entrega. Gracias a Guerrilla Games por este fantastico juego.

    De lo mejor que hay para ps4, en mi opinión es una obra maestra y el claro ejemplo de cómo se hace una secuela, mejorando todo lo que ya estaba perfecto en su antecesor, el mundo abierto es una genialidad, las misiones secundarias a un muy alto nivel, al mismo nivel que las principales, la historia es muy buena, siempre te vas a sentir con la intriga de que pasara en cada misión, y losDe lo mejor que hay para ps4, en mi opinión es una obra maestra y el claro ejemplo de cómo se hace una secuela, mejorando todo lo que ya estaba perfecto en su antecesor, el mundo abierto es una genialidad, las misiones secundarias a un muy alto nivel, al mismo nivel que las principales, la historia es muy buena, siempre te vas a sentir con la intriga de que pasara en cada misión, y los gráficos que a pesar de ser la version de PS4 se ve estupendo, es increíble la optimización que tiene, sinceramente de lo mejor que he probado.… Expand

    This Game is awesome!! You Start the story with a plague destroying everything, so Aloy must find a copy of Gaia to restore the life creating process. The grapplinghook was a Nice upgrade un Aloy's inventory. You can unblock paths and climb high places. This is a must play. Also I love Rosalba Sotelo's voice for the character. Even on ps4 the graphics are pretty damn good. Love the changes made with the inventory and (spoiler alert) storage and personal camp sites across the map. You can collect as much as you. And any extra stuff will automatically be sent to your stash.. I could spend months exploring the. *Nit picking:: is even on story mode upgrading weapons is a bit harder and can be a bit inconvenient.     And the other men in the game now:
    Acts like females/beta-males
    Taking orders from a woman
    Talking to a woman like she is a goddess and a leader and an alpha.

    Besides that the game pushed propaganda near constantly:
    "God is dead"
    "There is no God"
    "Space is real"
    "Space travel is real"
    "The solar system is heliocentric"
    "Only stupid people believe in geocentrism"

    We have seen this time and time again from Sony games, and it's a shame, why politics and lies have to be mixed in...

    Just simply not a very good game. Little to no story. Most content is missable and untracked.

    Very outdated and disappointing on accessibility. Unimpressive visual and audio design. Sluggish combat. Stupid climbing. Janky horse. Poor optimization and performance despite very minimal technical ambition. Lots of lazy corners cut, like the slideshow opening.

Из не приятных моментов погрузка текстур и задержка появления значков при открытии карты. You can levitated, drop off the map, run against invisible wall, etc. Those are only couple bugs what game has to offer. Horizon Forbidden West is a pale shadow from its predecessor Horizon Zero Dawn.

    The game did not excite me as the first game did. The story is not as interesting as in Zero Dawn. The gameplay lacks a few new additions, while any of the climbing is just torture. Also I often did not know where I needed to go next. There are some bugs still months after release, for instance the sound kept just bugging out during fights, which kills the atmosphere when you fight in silence.

As for the story....I honestly can't catch up since it was a year since I've played Zero Dawn so it's important to play the first game before jumping into Forbidden West.     I'm extremely impressed and grateful for the optimization Guerrilla did in this game to work as it does. Of course it's not perfect, there's fog in places where it shouldn't and textures take time to render, but it's still super enjoyable and it's giving me a lot of fun and happiness

I did encounter fall through the world three times in exactly the same spot, but all three times it was less than a minute after saving. The open world feels really interesting with a ton of content everywhere I went. The gameplay vastly improved over the first game with new features like a grappling hook and being able to swim underwater. They also made the melee combat way better than it was in the original. I thought the story was good, but not as good as the original. The villains were not that interesting or developed, although some new supporting characters were pretty good. The graphics were really good for a ps5 game released on the ps4, although I have played plenty of games with better graphics. The ending is not great as it just sets up for another sequel. Overall, I think it is better than the first game, but it is far from being perfect.… Expand

Tiene algunos problemas a la hora de que los enemigos se quedan quietos (en ocasiones, no es algo que me haya encontrado en los momentos donde volví al universo) y es fácil vencerlos. Esto corta el rollo de estar en un combate frenético, esquivando los embistes enemigos a como de lugar. También hay ocasiones donde Aloy se queda quieta o se repiten animaciones, otro problema que no corta la hora de juego (pero si inquieta a la vista) es el constante “popping” que tienen las cinemáticas. Desde el principio que me encontré con este problema, sin embargo espero que con un parche para arreglar bugs se elimine este problema.     Son unos de los mejores gráficos que he visto en PS4.
    El juego va muy bien a 30 FPS y estables como una Roca y No decaen cuando estas en combate
    Los movimientos en el agua son fluidos y de total libertad.
    Ciertamente tiene un poco de poping muy puntuales; pero NO afectan en nada la jugabilidad y los gráficos.

    I just happened upon Horizon Zero Dawn about six months after it was released. It wasn’t my type of game I had normally played. After finishing the entire game… I think I cried (don’t judge). I immediately needed a sequel. It was the most unbelievable game and when I heard that Horizon Forbidden West was coming I about lost it. This journey with Aloy and the amount of creativity andI just happened upon Horizon Zero Dawn about six months after it was released. It wasn’t my type of game I had normally played. It was the most unbelievable game and when I heard that Horizon Forbidden West was coming I about lost it. This journey with Aloy and the amount of creativity and attention to detail (in all aspects) is mind blowing. I am only about 50% done at the moment, but I love how many layers they keep adding to her journey to save mankind. This game is like watching a blockbuster movie that you get to immerse yourself in. Granted, I am on the PS4 still so my grade of a 9 is for one little area in particular. I feel the graphics are incredible and I can only imagine how they are on PS5, but in the low light scenarios in the PS4 version, I feel the detail is muddy and a little lacking. Particularly in the blue and red scenes (which there are a lot of). I am a photographer so graphics and details are important to me. Not to mention photomode. I have spent countless hours just photographing the scenery. It’s breathtaking and very accurate! (Im from the West Coast). They included so many National Parks and i love it. I cannot imagine the amount of time that went into this. You can tell that everyone who worked on it is passionate about Aloy’s story and how much they wanted to get every detail right. Yes, there are a few bugs in its first week but that is expected of any new game. This game is absolutely incredible and I cannot wait to find out the ending.… Expand

    All environment is so blurry, hard to see any objects from distance.

    There’s nothing wrong with learning from your competitors, but what’s the point of copying stuff that’s mocked even by Ubisoft fans? Hopefully, next time Guerrilla will focus more on Horizon’s own strengths: unique world and mechosaurs that are so fun to take apart. [Issue#259, p.72]

    If you liked Zero Dawn, you will probably enjoy Forbidden West, even though the sequel lost that pioneering spirit and Aloy stopped developing as a character.

    Horizon Forbidden West embraces everything about its predecessor and makes strides in producing an even more compelling world to explore, with intense combat and story moments, and shiny new robo-dinosaurs to punch in the face. I cannot wait to see where Aloy and her companions’ story goes next.
