Some - those that love a bit of pain in their games, to make the reward even sweeter - might be truly bewitched by this charming game, especially if they play it with the right company. All the others will find in Helldivers a fun and refreshing experience, one that's capable of adding something unique to a well known formula crowded with glorious precursors. It might not be fully on par with the best ever in its genre, but don't hesitate to give it a chance if you dig this kind of shooter.

Excellent co-op top-down action offers a very satisfactory gameplay focused on the endless bloodbath and well designed, but slightly stereotypical tasks. With the right bunch of teammates it will attract your attention for long hours. But join the wrong group and you will feel like the hell broke loose.

Helldivers is at first a fresh, rewarding, challenging experience that stands up to any other game in terms of quality.

Despite all this, with the raucous chaos of multiplayer mode, Helldivers is still capable of being engrossing for long periods.

Helldivers is a typical co-op twin stick-shooter. The multiplayer is challenging and makes up for the inconsistent pacing, the boring surroundings and repetitive missions. On your own, Helldivers is a very frustrating experience with big ambitions but too little depth of content.

The only good bug is a dead bug... Starship Troopers has become a (very hard) third person shooter.

Travel the universe and meet hordes of interesting alien species, then shoot them repeatedly in the face - with friends.

Helldivers is an enjoyable game, especially white playing its co-op mode that allows playing with three friends. It's not very good playing solo and it's much harder, enough to put average players in hardship. However, it has quite a lack of variety when it comes to mission objectives and its gameplay mechanics aren't very good either.

Helldivers’ metagame campaign and variety of gameplay are more than enough to keep you entertained, but only players with a tight-knit group of co-op buddies will be able to get the most from the experience.

Although the gameplay and mission structure quickly becomes repetitive, Helldivers offers hours of entertaining co-op twin-stick action in a universe that's begging to be further developed.

Another overrated indie game without anything interesting about it, bad for SP gaming, no story, same as every online centric game out there,Another overrated indie game without anything interesting about it, bad for SP gaming, no story, same as every online centric game out there, and you only need one of those to play, so this is just extra"fat" that serves no purpose. There are much better indies out there, including on the PS4, and some of them were free on PS+ so no need to waste money on this. Full Review »
