Good history, awesome graphics, could be one of the best games ever, but it have the worst controls ever. It is really annoying, they are pretty bad for a game like this.

When motion commands are used seems like you are flipping a coin, you do whatever the game wants, but sometimes the game says that you didn't, it is totally unresponsive.

The Taxidermist DLC was excluded from the game.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. This game's whole set up literally makes no sense. In the beginning, the son gets hit by a car. The dad, however, jumps out in front of the car. He protects his son, and he gets hit by the car. The car does NOT touch his son, but yet his son still dies. this did not make any sense to me because the dad is the one who actually gets hit by the car while the son does not. If anything, the dad should've died. Expand

Mediocore story that barely makes any sense on it's own, awful motion controlls and overall bland presentation of the entire game. Modern gaming guys! You can just make weird movie with quick time events and call that a day!

Boring quick time game play all the way through...no incentive to go back. What has gaming come to? This is just a demonstration of the sad state it's in. David Cage should just make a movie and retire.

That's not even really a game,it's a movie where you can sometimes press buttom and it doesn't really affects your playthrough in any way.David Cage has no idea what video game is he should be movie director instead.

I played up until the point where you are looking for the luggage locker and I stopped playing. I can't bare this anymore. Insanely boring slow and pointless 90% of the time. You could easily compress this game to one tenth the time it took to reach this point. The controls suck. The camera sucks. I had a tiny bit of fun in one or two scenes in the game till this point. Very strange. Beyond two souls if a favorite of mine but this I can't even bare to continue.

PS: Stratch that, I just read the rest of the story on wikipedia. Wow that's cheesy. I'm glad I dropped it now. Why the hell is this game considered good?

The killer's identity is unpredictable but only because it's completely implausible and makes zero sense. There is no reward in finishing this except the release from an unfinished game in my library. Do not spend your precious money and time. I will review this pile OF ABSOLUTE BULLSH-
I guess I need to calm down. Let's start.
The game has some of the worst controls of the decade. It took me 12 minutes to do something that should take 3 minutes if it had proper controls. The game froze on me several times. There are situations that make zero sense. Your dumb kid Jason was about to get run over by a car, but you, Ethan,

Your dumb kid Jason was about to get run over by a car, but you, Ethan, jumped in front of the car before the car hit Jason, and Jason died and Ethan left without a scratch. The voice acting was bad, but not that bad, and the music was relaxing, as well as the rain drops. The story sucked balls, and so did the 17 endings, where most of them weren't even that different. The 'remastered' graphics were ****
Overall, a tedious grinding and unsatisfying game I only played so I could be allowed to review it.

I played Heavy Rain in 2020 and my first impression was: terrible. Because the game controls and camera are terrible. But the game was released in 2010, it is important to consider when reviewing the game. After few chapters you get used to the controls. The story is very captivating and you just cannot stop playing Heavy Rain.

Quite sad in the beginning and very thrilling in the rest,

Mark Twain, once golf a good walk spoiled. The same can be said for Heavy Rain. An OK story turned into a slow stumble of quick-time events. Also features unimpressive voice acting and a non-intuitive set of controls.

This was one of the worsts experiences i've EVER had playing games. The game has such a boring and no-action story, with a weird gameplay (I know it's a "interactive film", even because I played Detroit: Become Human and i LOVED it) and grafics sucks (considering it's a remastered). Here we can see how Quantic Dreams' games have evoluted, every little detail of Detroit is better than this.

mbitious but limited game trying to be a movie and ending up as a joke. The cascade of choices is an illusion for most of the game, pushing the protagonists onwards on rails to move the plot forward. It's a rip off of Se7en just with lots of plot holes.

When it comes to interactive narrative experiences, Quantic Dream is hold in high regard. I sadly have to say I think the reason for this is because they are one of the few developers that is actually committed to telling stories without traditional gameplay, not because of David Cage's writing talent.

The neo-noir world with a dash of sci-fi is pretty interesting, but it is the horrible writing, acting and very annoying attempts to make the story more interactive that really bring the experience down to an absolute low most of the time.
There are so many god awful shallow characters here that are easily B-movie Netflix quality, but yet the game takes itself super seriously so you just sit there as an observer while the head of the screenwriter disappears in his own ass.

There is a moment when you need to hold a baby as a character and really carefully move the controller left and right to make it fall asleep which makes you reattempt it after you fail. You can't actually progress the story if you didn't make the baby fall asleep so it really isn't a narrative choice but just a really really dumb chore you have to finish. Why this just wasn't a cutscene is beyond me.

I failed to rock the baby around twenty times and kind of wanted it to smash it and my controller to the wall because I was so irritated at that point, not only because the controls are horrible but also because the only reason I wanted to finish that task was to get to more toe-curling bad writing and cringy acting performances.

The only thing the story has is the twist at the end, but even that I disliked because it is just set up with cheap manipulative writing tactics.

3/10 because of the world and visuals, the rest is really bad in my humble (personal) opinion.

The only thing I can say is that this game is better than Beyond Two Souls, which just means there is a "so bad its good" fun to be had with it.

It doesn’t offer anything new for anyone who already played the original. On the other hand, the graphics are significantly overhauled, making this remastered version a safe choice for anyone who didn’t had the chance to experience this excellent interactive drama.
