The amount of detail and funding for this game is just insane. $6 Billion in profits, this is what a triple A title is. $265 million in development with a team of 1,000 people.     What I hated. Just like real life, it can get boring but GTA Online takes this away if you have friends to play with. The story takes about 8 hours to complete which is short for it's considered budget.

    What I loved. Just letting lose and exploring this game makes me want to live in it. The cars, the road, the skies and the view are all just jaw dropping beautiful! I can't imagine just one section of this game because it clocks in at 75.84 square kilometers. That's roughly the size of San Francisco.

    Its an nice game and have many details. The Ps4 version have more details than the Ps3 version and have the better graphic. This game is easy to play and a good game for beginners. The graphic is good, but it is not the best in 2021. The missions are cool and not so hard. The story is okay and not so serious. The bad thing is that the KI is not the toughest.

    Grand Theft Auto 5 is a game that is massive in scale, and deep as an ocean. With plenty of things to do, a great story, great driving, this is a game that is held back by its lackluster elements, like an unintuitive phone system, bad aiming settings with an unnecessarily slow dead zone, and stupidly awful helicopter controls, and much more.

    This game was absolutely groundbreaking when it came out, a step forward for the gaming industry.

    The characters are very good and entertaining, but unfortunately the story felt bizarre at times, not bad, I just think that some plot points weren't handled very well. The gameplay and shooting mechanics are great, not a big improvement over the previous games but still fun.     GTA 5 hat die wahrscheinlich beste Open World aller Zeiten. Mit diesem gewaltigen Spiel hat sich Rockstar in punkto Gamedesign selbst übertroffen. Unzählige Möglichkeiten in der offenen Spielwelt und unglaubliche Graphik/Physik machen fast schon vergessen, dass die Haupthandlung bei Weitem nicht so perfekt ist, wie in richtig guten Storyspielen (9/10).

I prefer Playstation due to their focus on narrative games. For scoring, I’ll be using the Gameinformer review scale and of course influenced by my personal opinions.

    (9) Superb. Just shy of gaming nirvana, this score is a high recommendation because the game reviewed is head-and-shoulders above its competition.

    Rockstar is hands down the best there is when making a parody of the real world. They came out with an innovated idea to have three main characters to play as and they are all well written. You can spend a lifetime in the single player mode with how much there is in the game to do, but they also have a online mode which they just keep on adding more too. How do you choose? Online mode is full of greifers so be aware, but there is a work around to have a session all to yourself if you find yourself with bad luck in finding a good lobby. The online economy can be tough so do some research if you find it hard to make money. There are tons of helpful information on the internet for you. Now for the reason I’m not giving this game a ten. I never felt attached to any of the main characters/story didn’t have any moving moments. It was all action, which may not be a bad thing to many of you. I will always remember Niko Belic and his ambition to start a new life in America. Another issue is how they aren't being as detailed as they did in the past with the driving mechanics, car physics, relationships, and businesses.    … Expand

    Ever since I've played this game I've had my expectations up for any other game ending fantastic, great characters amazing graphics. The reason I gave it a 9 is because GTA online it takes way to long to get money might as well play in a invite only session. fix GTA online and I'll give this game a ten.

    Great game, only downside is with the Online version. You can't run businesses without being on a public server. Sometimes you don't want to play with a bunch of children and just want to play solo without being limited. (There are ways around this though)

    Gta V is a good game. Just like any other game it also has some flaws. I think everything is good with the game but I wish it still had Gta IV Game Physics. I also think it needs to have a better storyline. I say this is one of the best games ever and if you like an open world games you will surely love this one.

    Un mode histoire moins bien que le précédent mais tout de même réussi. Le mode en ligne est super fun, la progression est presque sans limite et vraiment plaisante. Les multiples activités disponibles sont diversifiées et quelques-unes sont très intéressantes notamment les braquages etc.

    The PS4 graphics are greatly improved over the ps3. Rockstar did a great job in remastering it. As for the game? Its good, but not great as people and critics make it out to be. I enjoyed far cry 4 a lot more as an open world game.

Unfortunately the first person mode was not fully thought out and there are many instances where a mission or activity is not doable efficiently in it.     So how is this different from last gen? Well, the whole thing is sharper, crisper, more vibrant with more detail. The first thing i noticed was how much sharper and crisper it is compared to last gen. The 1080p resolution makes a noticeable difference on its own. Its lots of small details that add up to a big change. For instance. The cars are now shiny and reflect light. They are also more detailed. You can see more detail in break lights and such. Even chrome wheels look chrome and reflect light. Road surfaces etc have more detail in the way of cracks, moss, dirt etc. Its all had a texture bump to look more realistic. There is now more litter laying and even blowing around the game world. Plastic bags and things blow around. There is also bits of foliage and other debris blowing around all the time. It makes the whole game world feel more alive. The foliage system has been increased dramatically right across the game world. There are now more trees, flowers, grass and such. Some of the trees and foliage is the same as previous gen but with bumped up textures, but then there are a lot of new trees and foliage too. It looks great. Water has had a texture increase and now seems to be a bit more erratic in places. The waves seem more wild and the crash and splash against rocks is now more so. The rain effects have seen quite a drastic change. It looks much more realistic and even floods the game world by leaving puddles all over. And thanks to the new lighting system, lights, fire etc cast reflections in the puddles and ocean. You can even see rain droplets in the ocean. It looks very impressive and is probably the most drastic change of all. There are now more cars than ever before. Even cars from previous GTAIV and Episodes From Liberty City have been added, plus lots of new ones. The traffic has also been increased, but not so much it makes it difficult to get around. Its just about right. There is now an in car view too. Each car has its own in car dashboard view and interior. Some have gages, and some have digitial gages. It even shows the radio station and the name of the song that you are listening to on the radio. They even light up. It all looks great, but just don't expect the same level of detail as say Forza or Project Gotham Racing. You can see gages, lights, text on the radio, leather effect seats etc in clear detail though. There is also a first person view which makes it a whole different game. You can aim down the sites of your guns in different ways, roll, cover, everything. It makes for a new GTA experience. Personally i only really use the first person mode while driving and stay in 3rd person when out of the car. But you can do as you please. So its nice to have all the extra options. Character models, especially the main characters, all have a new level of detail and look even better than before. You can see scars, hairs, pigmentation and wrinkles in the skin. It makes them feel more alive. There are also more animals and insects than before. From cats, dolphins, moths, killer whales, hammer head sharks and more. Even older animals like dogs have been increased. Pedestrian numbers have also been increased. There are now more with more variety. AI of pedestrians has been increased too. They will try and steal your car and all sorts. Sounds have also seen a big increase and make the whole thing feel more alive and realistic. And 100 more songs have been added, as has new radio chatter. Damage to cars has also been upgraded a bit. I'm sure there is more that i've missed. The only problem i have with this game is that the story and missions are the worst in the GTA franchise. As a technical achievement it is a 10/10. But every now and then, an extremely mundane section comes along and ends up feeling like the sober day job part of the characters' lives. Oh well, a night-only friend can still be a great friend if you just focus on what makes the friendship tick, and the same happens with Rockstar's latest.

    GTA V has you playing as three main characters: rookie hustler Franklin, retired thief Michael, and complete-freaking-nutjob druglord Trevor. Their stories start intertwining as you make your way through the game's campaign, and the writing is decent enough that the many cutscenes are actually very enjoyable to watch. The gameplay is your typical GTA fare: a very competent action-adventure romp that throws you into an open-world city (or, in this game's case, an entire small state) and tasks you to survive by making it big as a criminal. You'll steal vehicles, drive around town, enter gunfights with rival gangsters, run from the police, and ocasionally pick up a hooker. Controls are mostly intuitive and the action is responsive.

    Like in pretty much every GTA game since the first one, the real star of the show is the seamless open-world exploration. GTA V's state of San Andreas features a whole bunch of different environments, from the bustling metropolis of Los Santos to small villages up north to vast patches of mountain wilderness. There are a lot of cool details waiting around for your attention, such as the entire episodes of fictional TV shows you can watch. Just wandering around can be pretty great; at one point, I stole a jet-ski and went around the state, just looking for stuff. I found a deserted beachside camp with more jet skis, then tried to find my way back to civilization while terrorizing wild animals and unsuspecting citizens unlucky enough to be driving nearby. It's this sort of mindless fun that's arguable the game's greatest strenght.

    But of course, there are also more structured missions. This is where the game (the franchise, really) fluctuates wildly in quality for me. I mean, stealing a top-secret army weapon or torching a competitor's meth lab can be fun enough. But then you end up doing stuff such as operate a crane, tow a car, or going drinking with a friend for no discernable in-game benefit... and frankly, those can get so dull that it beats me why they're even in the game (and worse, some as mandatory campaign missions).

    Some other missions have different problems: the worst offender in my eyes makes a minigame out of a brutal torture section. I fully believe that game violence can be done in a mostly harmless way, especially when it's as wonderfully overblown (and tongue-in-cheek) as it generally is in GTA. This sort of thing, however, feels like taking a turn for the disturbing just for the hell of it, especially because the actual gameplay in the aforementioned mission is completely dull and uninteresting.

    Controversies aside, it's hard not to admire GTA V for what it does well. It's a game that is fun a lot of the time, especially because it eschews any sort of faux-serious vibe, opting instead for the serie's trademark penchant for the zany. The driving mechanics are some of the best in gaming and there is so much to do. This game is worth full price any day. I don't think it is worth it if you just care about the multiplayer, the multiplayer is honestly the weakest part of the game and i tend to spend most of my time in the singleplayer. The improvements from the ps3 to the ps4 are quite remarkable. The game is beautiful. Everything in the world is detailed and vibrant, The colors are right on point and the framerate stays respectable throughout the game. I would have preferred if the developers worked more to get the game sixty frames per second instead of making it 1080p. But i still think the solid 30 frames per second frame lock is fine. The story that the game tells may not be original in the slightest but it sure does manage to tell the story well. The Trevor sections felt less inspired compared to the rest of the game. He felt like he was in the game just to give the famous Grand Theft Auto rampages more of a plot behind it. During the story you will encounter heists and they are lots of fun. Online have been added but at this point in time while writing the review, i have been unable to access the Rockstar servers. The heists seem to be similar to what the singleplayer offers which is a great thing if you enjoyed them like i did. The online community tends to have ruined the experience for me many times. I am not saying that everyone there is bad but from my experiences most people tend to just shoot other people on sight which is understandable for an online for a game like Grand Theft Auto. The gamemodes available in the multiplayer all feel fun and add so much variety to the game. The game is filled with content that some people could take as offensive. I personally was fine with it because i see it just as a work of art that is not afraid to be uncensored. There is not really a way to avoid the offensive content in the game which could make some players avoid the title. The only time i had trouble with some of the scenes were in one mission that involved torturing a man to get information out of him. Some of the scenes of torture that you controlled were hard to watch at times. If you like singleplayer focused games and games with large open worlds. This game was meant for you. It is definitely worth the current cost of 60 dollars and you probably wont regret your purchase because of the amount of high quality content that is included in the game.… Expand

The city looks and feels simply incredible and with a greater number of cars and people; it really adds to the atmosphere. There is also a new first-person mode which adds an entirely new dimension to the gameplay and is implemented very well although it wont appeal to everyone as GTA is easier and preferred in 3rd person for many players. These factors however do not warrant an immediate purchase. The game is pretty much the same as before and some may feel GTA V belongs as a memory of the last gen and a fitting finale of what was once possible. No doubt the step up is jaw-dropping in places but this doesn't enhance the story or its missions in any which way.

    Committed players may opt to hop onto the multiplayer immediately where they left off but I find this aspect rather shallow. Rockstar will certainly add new and free content down the line but unless you are completely dedicated and enthused by this; you'd probably want to overlook the game for something else especially if you don't have the desire to experience the story again.

    Overall; GTA V is still one of the best and most memorable games ever made. Die-hard fans who are still engaged with interest in the MP aspect should certainly purchase but others who aren't so excited should happily look to the future. The game looks staggering but this doesn't constitute to a must-buy even in today's graphics-emphasised era. This game costs full price and even more than the original did on release day. Many won't feel value for money in the product despite the games representing a very generous price for what is on offer. I think gamers will feel a bit burnt out after the time they spent on the game previous and unless you're as excited for the game as you were just over a year ago; you could probably happily avoid this and look at other fantastic titles out now and on the horizon. This however doesn't take away anything that Rockstar have achieved with the game in its time and regardless; GTA V on the PS4 is still a wonderful achievement in gaming that deserves another release.    … Expand

The story, despite having a strong concept, is very poorly handled. It has noticeable pacing issues and a severe problem deciding which antagonists to focus on. Simply, the plot has a dangerously crowded group of antagonists with too little context put to any of them. There are about eight different antagonists in the main story, and all of them get negligible context put into them. During my playthrough, I often forgot who the bad guys were and was only reminded when they randomly showed up. This is a critical failure that deals a pretty huge blow to the story. In general, the plot is a crammed and disjointed mess that doesn't seem to know what it wants to be.

    GTAV is a very fun experience with lots of value. It has the most detail of any open-world game its size, and that is truly this game's greatest strength. It has funny dialogue, entertaining characters, very high production values and lots of GTA-style fun to be soaked up.     Overall it's very much the same as the original, with a few new cool gimmicks and additions, although i still feel there a obvious things missing that would make GTA V the complete package. None the less a great game and a good purchase to make if you've ran out of things to play on your new system.

    But if you were going to buy this re-release for the long forgotten heist's....... you'll be disappointed.    … Expand

    Now, this game can be definitely be improved in these aspects:

    1) The shooting parts. The animations are smooth and look cool yes, but it handles extremely SLOW. Also, whats with the auto aim? It ruins all the fun, seriously.

    2) Driving. OK... how many GTA's have been released now? If one of the main features in the game is stealing cars and driving around, why is the handling so damn BAD?? The brakes are super super sensitive, the handbrake makes the car slide into infinity, and it's just close to impossible to take corners in a satisfying way with a fast car.

    Overall, excellent game, well worth the money. But in my opinion it can be improved a lot. I'd rather have a game with less content but good handling.    … Expand

    Graphics, sound and presentation are superb.

    The story mode starts really well, but gets repetitive after a while. Pace is a problem, since there are so many different plots, and the game don't let you choose where you will focus your attention. Its not easy to get involved in what is going on.

    Some of the games controls are also problematic, specially when we talk about airplanes and helicopters, sometimes you will spend a good amount of time trying to not crash your plane while landing. Gun fights rely heavily on auto aim.

    Online mode is pointless and is a stripped down version of the whole thing.

    Despite pace problems with the main story, Trevor, Franklin and Michael are easily one of the most remarkable characters ever seen in a video game, even if you don't like some of them.

    Rockstar games also deserves credits for creating truly new experience on PS4. The new graphics are more than just better textures. Its unbelievable how detailed this world is. PS4 is yet to see a better looking game.

Also, any people who have already decided they don't like the GTA series based on the gameplay and somewhat repetitive nature of the missions will NOT be won over by this game.

    Don't get me wrong it's a good game but I'm just GTA'd out. There weren't enough good points in GTA V to get me back into the series and there's not many more in this new edition.

This year it is the same again and i played both games again and GTA just feels a lot more repetitive and aged where i had still almost the same amount of fun with TLOU as last year. It is a good thing that metacritic has a user score but it is bad that it doesn´t get as much attention as the Metascore from critics. I think there should be a Meta-metascore where both are brought together because then we would finally see the real winner of 2013...… Expand

    Game of Year 2013 is Remasted for PS4 and that's good for me (who doesn't play PS3 anymore)
    This is very good game, but not perfect.

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. First I would like to say, that this game is great, but it's not perfect.
    Things good about GTA 5:
    1. The story line is amazing and uses all of the characters perfectly!
    2. The graphics are stunning and beautiful.
    3. The Driving, boating, flying, and skydiving are all amazing things.
    There are more things good, but too much to list!
    Some of the bad things about it:
    1. *spoilers* In the newer consoles you can play as animals, which I don't like... that you can't in the older consoles
    2. There servers aren't very good via connections, but they are pretty good.
    There is more like I said, but this is all right now.

    GTA V on PS4 and Xbox One is more than just a reboot on newer consoles. Adding a first person mode gives the game a whole new feel, and retouched graphics add new flair to one of the best GTA games Rockstar has ever released.

    + Fun factor

    - Not a lot of additional content for folks who have played the last gen (although it's nice to have at least something additional)
    - GTA Online connectivity issues

    GTA games are always fun. This one is no exception, however it tends to freeze on missions. Also, you can't pick up things and throw them at anyone anymore. Instead, you run into something to pick it up. For a game thats release was highly anticipated, it didn't disappoint too bad.

    Grand theft auto V is a great game for game-play, longevity and content. Rockstar have a decent sense of humour, but they may have saturated this game with clichés. The game is a great improvement on the series, and the improvement from last generation is clear -- I love the addition of first person. However, this game is controversial. I would recommend it on value for money grounds.

    This game, as the others is a great success. If you love GTA, you'll love this game. It has everything a GTA fan would want plus more. If you're looking for something new and unique to the series though? I can't say this game offers that. Might been what kept be from giving it a ten. While I love the game, I wish it had something that made it better stand out among it's previous games. Yes the story is obviously unique and stuff... But I don't know. I guess I'm just into games that are willing to take a chance and try something new here and there.

    it feels good, it looks good and it sounds good but still nothing to get very exited about, since 20 years now.

    It lacks an interessting, compelling story. The World looks nice but you cant really interact with it. buildings are dummies, people are robots.

    You get some cars, listen to some music, shoot some people, drive down the highway into the sunset.

    Sometimes matchmaking can take a very long time. I have also experienced a few glitches that has hindered my experience. But other than that, its a fun game.

I found some of the gameplay a bit on the mindless side, sometimes long shootouts drag on. Grand Theft Auto IV was about as much fun as watching The Godfather through a dirty coffee filter, and I had expected its successor to do much better. I must say it has, and it has a lot more color than the others. This game centers on three criminals hoping to make it big in the world of bank robberies. My favorite character was Michael, since he was the most relatable of the three. Franklin just came across as a sarcastic snob and Trevor, was well, Trevor. Michael seemed like an actual human being and responds to situations in the most fitting way possible. The story was pretty engaging, but it lost me a couple times in terms of pushing the story along. For example, one mission had me torturing a guy for intel. Afterwards, he said he would have just given it up. It left a question, why didn't he? And what was the information for anyway? All it said is that the other agency was going to get it first, so we could have been killing Miss Daisy for giving one of the agents a funny look at the intersection for all I knew. I also realized another plot hole. Couldn't the whole FIB thing have been avoided if Michael had just said screw you all and walked out the door? Trevor didn't seem to inconvenience him at all when he returned, even when he found out about his secret. His presence in Michael's life made as much of an impact as his long lost dog returned home after running away for being used as a weapon to smash yet another TV. After the campaign ended, the game got bland pretty quick. Doing side missions made as much difference to my experience as the fly that landed on my shoulder while I was driving down the highway, so I didn't even bother after about two of them. After the campaign, you pretty much don't have to do the stock market thing since I had more than enough money to buy whatever I wanted without having to worry about running low. Despite all this, I still had some fun in playing the game. Overall, the game was about as appealing to me as a cold pancake while holding back the syrup until I had eaten all the silverware first.… Expand

    Single player story mode is not so good. Maybe it's because I had just finished playing Witcher3 before this.
    Story is not powerful, lacks substance and depth. But once I completed the story mode there was so much more to do. Online community is very lively, freemode is also awesome, there are so many pastimes like tennis, darts,racing etc. Infact, this is one of the games you can play every day

    Huge open world and well designed NPC. Three main characters are unique and interesting. Amazing variety of vehicles and weapon. Anyway, it was my first game on PS4 and I was pissed about its graphics. So amazing.

    Thoroughly enjoyed playing this game. Overall 8.5/10

    What I loved:

    1) Beauty of the open world - It was stunning on the PS4. There were times where I'd get myself into car crashes because I'd be messing with the camera to give myself a panoramic view of my surroundings as I was driving. I just wanted to stare at everything.

    2) Sheer variety of activities to do - This is a game where you can rob banks, fly planes, steal cars, jump out out of helicopters, or just blow **** up in general. The main story ensures that you can do all of these things. I avoided partaking of random activities like tennis or golf, or having sex with prostitutes because they didn't interest me. However, for those who want to immerse themselves in the world this way, it's an added benefit.

    3) Absolutely super voice acting and dialogue - outstanding, the best voice acting I've heard in a video game to date.

    4) Good story - I enjoyed the story, and did feel compelled to see it through to the end. I wasn't riveted or anything, but I don't necessarily think that's what the game was aiming for.

    Negatives

    1) Too much driving - honestly, while sometimes I enjoyed driving around the city and appreciate the world around me, I found it tedious to have to drive long distances everywhere I went. It would be nice if in future GTA's they perhaps include something like fast-travel.

    2) Clunky controls - the controls felt a bit clunky at times, and while it didn't detract too much from my overall enjoyment, there were points where I was very frustrated. I particularly didn't like the flying controls. Sometimes flying planes and choppers felt smooth, but other times it felt impossible to simply go straight and i was just veering wildly from side to side until (by luck) I reached my destination. The combat could also be a bit smoother, but in general I still had fun shooting people and beating them up.

    The game is fun and there is a lot to do. I wish there was side story lines to do and open world bank heist but that's okay. The world is massive and can do a lot of stuff. I wish there was more cars and guns but it's fine with what we have. The shoot is great and arcade like which is great. The story was okay a bit on the simplistic side but okay.

    Grand Theft Auto V is an awesome game at first glance but if you dive deeper into the game you will realize how many aspects of the game are far from perfect. It is still a very good game but it can't compare to other Rockstar titles like GTA IV or Red Dead Redemption.
