Game is nice in terms of designs and animations but extremely poor decisions in single player content. RPG mode is mostly spent fighting waves of goons every other battle with a battle of a 'boss' sprinkled here and there. Overall you can get to the last boss and the epiloge boss fairly quick. Problem is these last 2 bosses have 3 forms each while having unblockable attacks. The epilogeGame is nice in terms of designs and animations but extremely poor decisions in single player content. Problem is these last 2 bosses have 3 forms each while having unblockable attacks. The epiloge boss however seems to be designed in such way to make it impossible to beat without cheesing some way or another. It has super armor (no stun), teleports frequently (means no combos), chip damage almost does as much as getting hit, unblockable attacks, a move that is instant kill, a free hit that takes all health except 1hp after reaching about 30% health left on the boss (if you heal before this you're basically screwed), and thats not taking into account an 'overdrive' mechanic for bosses that increases their damage and minimizes the damage they take. If you have dlc, don't expect to see some scenarios with them as you are required to beat this boss before any of their scenarios pop up or unlock weapons or anything else for them. Expand

11 character with 2 season passes annonced in december 2019 before the game was finished an extreme case of cut content that some people are willing to overlook because " I like the series and want to support the devs" yeah support the people that are taking you for a dumbass money-cow. Cuckeryat its finest

The story mode is boringly easy to shatter your way through, no single-player play-value except training since story sandbags won't test your skill curve. Roster is meager at best for a fighting game with: surprise surprise! more characters to pay for already announced raising the price of a fighting game not even worth $60 to $100! Honestly this game deserves to die on launch; if mobile games have proven anything if a player throws wads of cash at you they should at least get a bunch of characters, weapons, and skins. But they deliver with minimal content, a border-line meaningless story mode, and and a roster down the line that (for a 2D fighter) is surprisingly sad. Valkyrie Fight Tag was a free fan made fighting game (albeit with pixel graphics) that can offer as much creative gameplay and as many hours of interest than this steamer. If you see any reviews that shed this in a light that's positive then they got their fan-service. But do not mistake this for a 10 star fighting game, no depth of play or unique mechanic can justify an 11 character roster. Especially a 2D fighter produced by a major developer. Beware of this game and any hype surrounding it, but if it piqued your interest (as it did mine) I would recommend waiting for it to go on sale to buy it. Or buy it used. By releasing characters with more interesting costumes and weapons as the DLC the developers should get as little as they can for such a deliberate cash grab. Plus I read the first listed review, it speaks for the game except in it's score. An 8! For a game that all the core parts of it were bad, it's a bad game. Or rather it is a bad price for a $20 game. Maybe it's a worst fighting game I played ever. It's Guilty Gear Xrd kissed by Dementor.
Battle system is bland, inputs are awful, delay-based online is dead on arrival. Those who say than this game has a good offline content are huge liars. After completing arcade-mode all you get is a picture that says "fin" instead some cutscene for character. It's sooooo lazy.
    RPG-mode it's a total

RPG-mode it's a total garbage with bosses who have instant kills. It often happens in boss fights that you just can't see your character because of the colorful magic ****
Character design is generic, music is bland (especially compared to Guilty Gear).
Total: 2/10. I advise you to avoid this game.

It really is a beautiful game. As I’ve said, Arc System Works have only continued to hone their craft and have offered this stunning, smooth and fast-paced fighter as a testament to that. I don’t think it’ll have as big an audience as other genre mainstays, but if you’re a fan of Guilty Gear or Dragonball FighterZ, this is well worth checking out.

Despite this slightly middling RPG addition, there’s not much to knock Granblue Fantasy Versus for. Purists may scoff at the low barrier to entry, and there’s not many characters to choose from without dipping into the DLC offerings, but it’s still a beautifully-presented fighter that holds its own. It’s just a shame there’s not more of it.

These presentation issues definitely temper my excitement for what is easily one of the more accessible fighting games I’ve had the opportunity to play. Then again, that feeling of accessibility likely comes from the fact that I’ve mostly focused on the single-player mode here – a mode that everyone, not just fighting gamers, can enjoy. Would I recommend picking the game up just for the RPG Mode alone? No, definitely not, but it does make Versus more tempting for gamers looking to start their journey into fighting games.
