It looks nice, but that's it. This is a bland fighting game that disappoints in both single player and multiplayer mode.

There's a lot to admire in Arc System Works' latest, but it's undone by some familiar faults.

Granblue Fantasy Versus is a fantastic new fighting game that more than justifies its existence in an already overcrowded genre.

Generally, I’ve found GBVS to be more fun than frustrating to fail at, especially when playing online.

RPG mode is mostly spent fighting waves of goons every other battle with a battle of a 'boss' sprinkled here and there. Overall you can get to the last boss and the epiloge boss fairly quick. Problem is these last 2 bosses have 3 forms each while having unblockable attacks. The epiloge boss however seems to be designed in such way to make it impossible to beat without cheesing some way or another. It has super armor (no stun), teleports frequently (means no combos), chip damage almost does as much as getting hit, unblockable attacks, a move that is instant kill, a free hit that takes all health except 1hp after reaching about 30% health left on the boss (if you heal before this you're basically screwed), and thats not taking into account an 'overdrive' mechanic for bosses that increases their damage and minimizes the damage they take. If you have dlc, don't expect to see some scenarios with them as you are required to beat this boss before any of their scenarios pop up or unlock weapons or anything else for them. Full Review »
