    A really great game to experience and a really a great upgrade from the God of war games from PS2 and PS3 era. Combat is really good and satisfying every time your axe lands its just feels awesome and sound awesome too. My only problem is too few bosses and you get to fight the same boss a lot.

    Best PS4 game I've ever played. The storyline, gameplay and varities of customisation option. My only complaint is lack of variety in boss battle which doesn't seem to be much of an issue.

    Amazing game, simple, straight one player game.
    The Atreus addition was just the right sensible touch.
    Playing it was a wonderful experience, could not be happier.

    I haven’t finished it yet, but I’m really enjoying this game. I was frustrated initially, simply because the combat mechanics took some getting used to. It feels like there is plenty to discover and explore even though it isn’t “open world” in the technical sense. The banter between the dwarves is very entertaining. This isn’t a game I feel compelled to keep playing to further the story,I haven’t finished it yet, but I’m really enjoying this game. I was frustrated initially, simply because the combat mechanics took some getting used to. It feels like there is plenty to discover and explore even though it isn’t “open world” in the technical sense. The banter between the dwarves is very entertaining. This isn’t a game I feel compelled to keep playing to further the story, but it is very enjoyable. I feel that I am out of the loop with this being my first GoW game, and I’ve had to do some reading on the Internet to get some history to feel like I have some understanding.     The world design, revamped camera, and narrative are all key points to what makes this game so special, a must buy for any hack and slash or God of war fan, easily one of my favorite games of all time

    one of the best games of the Century Phenomenal Master Piece inspired by Fromsoftware Demon Soulsborne formula the best combat system in any game with tons of amazing awesome variety runic skills and attacks the difficulty is also a great challenge on give me god of war which is awesome this game is perfectly polished and the stablity is great with almost no game crashing no gamebreakingone of the best games of the Century Phenomenal Master Piece inspired by Fromsoftware Demon Soulsborne formula the best combat system in any game with tons of amazing awesome variety runic skills and attacks the difficulty is also a great challenge on give me god of war which is awesome this game is perfectly polished and the stablity is great with almost no game crashing no gamebreaking bugs and just a few glitches the story actors motion capturing and writing are just as good as the Witcher 3 wild hunt simply amazing the only problem this game has is the repetitive reskined troll boss fights which i assume Santa monica studio was short on time to create more creative boss fights just like in devil may cry V and Dark souls 3 and bloodborne Sekiro these four games have the best boss fight designs so i hope God Of War Ragnarok will fix this problem and be more creative with the boss battles… Expand

    Los valores de producción son inmensos, pero a pesar de ello me parece un juego un poco sobrevalorado. El control de kratos es tosco y la navegación por el mundo es un engorro con mucho backtracking, habrá quien eso le guste pero a mi me aburre profundamente. Gráficamente es un portento y la banda sonora es muy buena. La historia cumple.

    One of the best games i've experienced in the last 10 years and perhaps top 5 in my 30 year gaming career.

    Gameplay, Story, Graphics, very well put together. The single shot camera throughout the game really grew on me, and brought the experience together in a unique way. Only thing I could say negatively is, I wish the gear was a deeper system. There was nothing wrong with it all    One of the best games i've experienced in the last 10 years and perhaps top 5 in my 30 year gaming career.

    Only thing I could say negatively is, I wish the gear was a deeper system. There was nothing wrong with it all all. But personally I like more complicated gear systems. This was a very streamlined system because they certainly wanted this to not be a focus of this particular game. So I cant in good faith hold that against its score from me.

    10/10, an experience that shows the best of the PS4 Generation of games.    … Expand

    boi. Its a good game indeed, the story and graphics are brilliant but i don`t get why most fans think that its the only god of war game with good story. The whole francize is a masterpiece and it shouldn`t be praised just for that game.

    I really like this game. I see why it won goty, but I still feel red dead should’ve. This game has such repetitive combat and enemies. The game looks amazing and the story is also great. There are SO many puzzles. And some of them are very, very hard. I like puzzles, but I wish they made them a bit easier and more related to the story

    probably one of the best games I had ever played. If you own a ps4 or ps5 (PC coming soon I guess) it's well worth playing. new game+ is also awesome because you don't need to backtrack to open doors that were unavailable the first time through during that part of the game.

    I was a bit skeptical when I saw that they had completely revamped the combat and now had a escort mission vibe but after seeing the critic reviews I got this game finished it in 20+

    Un des rare jeu ou les combats sont tellement bien fait qu'on cherche vraiment à se battre au lieu d'éviter pour ne pas perdre de temps.
    Histoire prenante et très bon duo entre Kratos et Atreus.
    Les éléments concernant la mythologie Nordique sont bien intégrés et très intéressants.

    One of the greatest games of all time. Innovative combat, excellent story, awesome, hectic and engaging boss fights. Kratos and son Atreus make an outstanding father and son example in video games.

    Nice story, nice game-play, but game-design is very strange, on hard lvl of difficulty you need 15 minutes dancing with boss to die by one hit, it is not hard, it is routine and stupid

After all, If it already worked before several times, why wouldn't work again? With a combat that is clearly a CTRL+ C, CTRL+ V, from dark souls and devil may cry games. It's shameful that Santa Monica didn't had the courage to create a new IP, they had to surf in a name that is already consecrated, and knew the people would buy, regardless of anything. You can bet that if the main character wasn't Kratos, which people (myself included) already have an emotional remembrance about him, this game would not have all this overrated reaction.… Expand

    God of War is an excellent game, filled with great cinematic moments, awesome characters, lore and dialogue. The world-building is great, too. Story-wise I think this is one of the best games for the PS4 (if not the best). The combat is brutal and so much fun, especially as you move forward and start to unlock some of the upgrades. I started the game on "Give me a balanced experience", butGod of War is an excellent game, filled with great cinematic moments, awesome characters, lore and dialogue. The world-building is great, too. Story-wise I think this is one of the best games for the PS4 (if not the best). The combat is brutal and so much fun, especially as you move forward and start to unlock some of the upgrades. I started the game on "Give me a balanced experience", but it was a little too easy for my taste and it didn't encourage exploring too much, since I didn't need too many upgrades to make the game easier. I moved the difficulty up to Give Me a Challenge and that's how I enjoyed it the most. It's so cool to see how this father-son relationship evolves and also the stories Mimir tells you throughout the journey, he is the definition of a comedic relief done right, because he also helps in building up the lore of the game.

    For the most part, I absolutely adored this game. But there were a few things that I didn't love. First, it isn't exactly open-world (it's more of a hub world) and it isn't exactly an RPG. The game introduces certain elements of RPG gameplay, such as the semi-open world and the possibility for upgrades, but I felt like the world got repetitive a little too quick, since you explore a little, but then have a few areas locked because you don't have the skills to open them. Then, further along in the game you unlock the skills so you can return to the places you were before, but then I'm not motivated to visit those places because I've already been there. Another thing is the armor and weapon upgrades. I found that once you get to a certain upgrade, it's not really necessary to keep upgrading (other than for fashion) and I spent only like 10% of my hacksilver because, like I said, once you get to a certain armour, it can't get much better and so grinding through places like Niflheim and Musfelheim just to get better armor feel like a chore. These things are optional, sure. But I feel I have to mention them since they are in the game.

    If you are into the things I just mentioned, cool. And by the time you finish the game there is still plenty to do if you enjoy the grind. And certain favors and side quests reveal details about the story, which is cool, although definitely not essential. Overall, God of War is really, really good and a must-own for anyone with a PS4.    … Expand

    It might be a bit disappointing to some that this new GOW is nothing like the original trilogy, but on the other hand it probably might just be the best game on the PS4. It was bold from Santa Monica to abandon a winning formula and rebuild everything from the ground up. This makes it even more remarkable what they were able to achieve here, as abandoning a fan favorite winning formula isIt might be a bit disappointing to some that this new GOW is nothing like the original trilogy, but on the other hand it probably might just be the best game on the PS4. It was bold from Santa Monica to abandon a winning formula and rebuild everything from the ground up. This makes it even more remarkable what they were able to achieve here, as abandoning a fan favorite winning formula is often a recipe for disaster. They somehow managed to get so so many things just right. This time around GOW is more mature and for me personally managed to struck all the right chords. It is enjoyable to accompany an older more mature Kratos, who has grown somewhat tired of all the fighting and blood shed. Loved every step of the way on my journey to platinum. Stunning graphics, a grand adventure in an epic world and the pinnacle would be the deep and satisfying combat system. If I could recommend only one PS4 game, this would be it. Santa Monica you did an excellent job here, will be waiting for you to open up the next realms.… Expand

    Cory Barlog and his team achieved what many thought impossible – despite having changed almost everything Santa Monica managed to preserve that elusive spark that makes God of War game feel like a God of War game. They created one of the defining titles of the current generation and a technical marvel whose stunning beauty in motion words cannot describe. And there’s one more thing. Barlog’s touching reaction to his masterpiece’s scores shows that even in the world of huge budgets, micropayments, loot boxes and sales forecasts there still is a place for artists who pour their hearts into their work.
