    Heard the praise and when I got to playing it I was not disappointed. This quickly became one of my favourite games; the mixture cinematic emotionful story telling and engaging gameplay was perfect for me to be fully invested and be entertained till the very end.

    For me by all means the GOTY of 2018 on PS4, the release on PC made me come back to this game reminding me of the fun i had with it, its just hands down, top 5 of my favorite games

    Fantastic Game.

    Played on PS5. The game ran well and the story is very engaging.

    The game doesn't drag on and makes you want to keep playing.

    Felt the puzzles could have been more difficult and the hints should be able to be turned off.

    Old God Of War games had a good gameplay and story. So they loved by people. But this game changed mostly things from old games for example gameplay, character design, story telling etc. And this game did all of this things better, and became legend. This game is best game i think. I am very excited for the next game.

    I did't play previous GoW and still the plot was so absorbing and interesting that I've finshed most of the additional quest, just to get to know the history better. Fantastic creations. Additional plus for my dubbing which was incredible as original voices. I'm waiting for more games like this.

    Es bastante bueno. Una gran historia, con unos personajes con gran carisma, los cuales los hace grandiosos. Un combate que parece bastante a un souls menos frenético. Un gran titulo.

    The story isn't very good and the difficulty is too much for people who never beat dark souls without dying at all in first try. But i gotta admit, it is very satisfying to kill an enemy. So if you're a casual gamer, pick easy mode. (AND THIS **** DOESN'T DESERVE GOTY 2018)

    Great game with a great storyline. The combat isn't all that smooth but it works so well. The worlds you travel to are all beautiful and the enemies don't feel repetitive at all.

Certain things are a bit questionable like why do I have to spend ages climbing down a ledge but another ledge which is higher I can jump down? Plus these enemies in the hidden chambers known as valkeries (How ever its spelt) are stupidly difficult compared to the rest of the game. Basically all of the bosses on hard modeIt's a good game with a good story, Mechanics overall feel solid. Basically all of the bosses on hard mode are easier then valkaries on easy mode? Their attacks have unusual timings with no consistency. You get the flash but sometimes its 2 seconds and then other times its 5 seconds so you don't know when to dodge. 1 of them has an attack which flashes yellow meaning to block but then follows up with an attack that you need to evade but the block causes you to be stunned so you can't evade. So why isn't that attack marked as an unblockable attack because the full attack cannot be blocked and must be dodged? Another one does an attack which you need to attack them to cancel it. Cannot be dodged nor blocked, but if you miss your axe and your to far away to hit them and arrows are recharging then you'll die or have an almost empty health bar. If the game was this difficult throughout then I wouldn't care but its the fact that they are stupidly difficult compared to everything else you are going up against. Plus some of there attacks should have clearer timings as some of them look similar but have different timings. I can bet that allot of people just skipped them because of how stupid they are. If I wanted to be stuck in the same places for ages dying before I got a lucky kill then I would play the souls games. I found myself constantly switching to easy and then back to hard again just for these chambers. I shouldn't have to do that if these parts were scripted better.
    Other then that the game is fun. Some of the characters are humorous and the game is portrayed really well. The puzzles are good and the best part is that it doesn't constantly tell you how to do everything. I hate it when games do that, why give me a puzzle then show me how to complete it because I spent 10 seconds looking at everything to work out how it fits together. This game allows the player to think for them selves.
    I also found it easy to follow the story. There was never a time I didn't have a clue what was going on. There is also side missions and stuff aswell which give you bonus items to aid your quest. You also find bonus stuff around the map aswell.    … Expand

    The story is a fantastic, deep, layered story that is so entertaining to watch. Every cutscene added to the story in a way that made me want to play for hours at a time.     Upgrading weapons is so extremely satisfying to me. It is a very rewarding experience. When upgrading weapons, there is a noticeable difference when fighting the same enemies.

    Many more elements to this game made me absolutely in love with it. I cannot wait for the sequel. I recommend this game to just about anyone that can handle a little blood and gore from defeating enemies.    … Expand

    Il gioco è spettacolare dal punto di vista grafico, lo storytelling e la trama sono di altissimo livello e l’evoluzione dei personaggi è notevole ma coerente, inoltre ho apprezzato molto la scelta di realizzare l’intero gioco in piano sequenza e questo, almeno a me, ha garantito una maggiore immersione nella storia.
    P.s.     same level as uncharted 4, this is my favourite game of playstation exclusives and also in all ps4 games.
    This game is my firts entry in GOW series & I love every aspects of this game.
    characters & wolrd & mythology is just best.
    combat & gameplay is fun & entertaining & heavy which is good for a GOW game.
    voice acting and performances at its peak.
    perfect game for me.

    God of war really shows how a video game series can totally revamp their gameplay and end up being even better. I like that it changes the gameplay and doesn t go with the same old formula, while still maintaining to deliever fan service for the og's.     Great characters with interesting personalities and quirks, amazing world building, amazing story, the gameplay wasn't the best ever but it was still good. I think the norse mythology is what really sells it for me, the story keeps you on your toes from start to finnish, truly amazing.

    I've realized that I view this game incorrectly and playing it in not a right way as I'm not exploring enough which you have to in this game because that's the point of the game, exploring and get stronger.

    Exploration is fabulous and rich although the world of God of War is not really that big but what's the point of an empty big world? Lots of stuff and resources to look for and of course some light and tricky puzzles that creates a great dynamic in the exploration process.

    Combat is not really great at first but as you unlock more skills and Atreus getting stronger (as well as obtain a skill) it becomes much better as I can finally feel and say that "this is God of War". The greatest moment is when you cannot use your main weapon in the mid story so you have to go back home to bring back "Chaos Blade"

    Story of course is well directed with some mysteries that later will be reveal or even still a mystery till the end. The point is, the story is more understandable this time around and way more emotional.

    Platforming is somehow the most frustrating part IMO which one of the reason I can't give this game a perfect score. Climbing and descending are a complete bothersome process. Another reason is the travel process (don't know if its call fast-travel or not) which take way too much time as it gives a negative impact in the exploration field.

    Overall it's a complete package of an overhaul of GOW as they are making a drastic changes but they successfully able to transfer Kratos to a great world and story besides the Greek mythology.    … Expand

    This was my first God of War game and it surprised me how amazing it is. The game's presentation is simply amazing, sound and voice acting is on point, and animations are fantastic. The combat is very fun, often challenging, and I really liked how you control both characters during combat. It's among the best games I've ever played. The combat is very fun, often challenging, and I really liked how you control both characters during combat. It's among the best games I've ever played. É uma obra focada em narrativa com dois personagens em intriga, onde eu me sentia acompanhando uma família em formação, chegava a emocionar em certas partes da história, principalmente quando Kratos solta suas ataduras dos braços e sente o vento raspar a pele antes de terminar sua jornada com Atreus. A ambientação e trilha sonora fazem uma combinação perfeita nesse jogo, que dá um ar de estar literalmente na Mitologia Nórdica, além dos belos gráficos que fizeram eu parar para aproveitar a vista artística por diversos momentos. Em jogabilidade, há uma certa mistura de mecânicas hack and slash com clássico RPG, onde dá para fazer combos, porém há uma necessidade de explorar, coletar recursos e evoluir os dois personagens, forçando eu a explorar cada canto do cenário, aproveitando cada missão e detalhe do jogo. O único defeito que consegui enxergar nessa obra, foi a falta de explicação sobre a passagem de God of War III para esse novo que seria o "IV"!… Expand

    A good reason to buy PS4 (or PS5, concidering what u can afford to yourself). I was afraid, thet Santa Monica created sh%ty RPG about God Of War, but how wrong I was. This game is perfect in every aspect - gameplay, story, graphics and etc. You MUST play God Of War 4.

    Quite possibly the best gaming experience I have ever had. This game has everything. Great gameplay and amazing story. The closest story to this game I can think of is Cormac McCarthy’s “The Road”. An absolute must play.

    Incredibly fun game, but personally I do not see it as "one of the best games ever made". However, the Baldur boss fights is the best boss battles i have ever encountered in a video game. The final battle with him is literally so good I can't even explain it

This is a monumental step forward for every genre of video game across every platform and ANY developer worth a single grain of salt in the ocean needs to cram hours upon hours upon days to trulyAnyone who can play through God of War for the PS4 and PC and claim this is anything less than 2018's Ocarina of Time and Mass Effect on steroids has lost all credibility with me forever. This is a monumental step forward for every genre of video game across every platform and ANY developer worth a single grain of salt in the ocean needs to cram hours upon hours upon days to truly understand why God of War is not just a masterpiece but one of the greatest video games ever released since Ocarina of Time and PONG in the 1970s. Yes I went there, and I don't give a damn because quality of this magnitude doesn't come often, and when it does, hold onto your seats, grab tons of expresso game developers and take notes!

    Not since Mass Effect 2 have characters had such an intensely well developed relationship in a video game. Kratos's relationship with his son Atreus is as heart-warming as it is and gut-wrenching at every twist and turn. The character dynamics fly off the screen and the bosses will play with your psychological heartstrings at every corner. Combat is flawless, music is spellbinding, load times are non existent for what truly feels like the first ever 8K video game release on ANY platform with Earth-shattering visual fidelity and meticulous detail the likes of which no game has ever come close to equaling. Every single object in God of War was designed to bring concentrated joy, wonder and awe to the player, the level of craftsmanship by Santa Monica Studios was always top tier, but this is impeccable.

    Astonishingly well paced and the puzzles seldom detract from combat, if anything they only add intelligence to a shocking bastion of intellect. No egregious or filthy microtransactions, loot boxes or any of modern gamings greedy trappings. Just jaw dropping visuals, near flawless gameplay, a pixel perfect photo mode and everything a player could ever want from a single player experience. God of War isn't a video game, its a blueprint on how EVERY game should look, play, sound & feel across all genres in a decade or the entire industry has reached a peak that it will tumble unceremoniously down from and deservedly so. Santa Monica Studios gave you the secret formula for gaming perfection, its up to you to ensure that with great power comes greater responsibility!
