    This a good game, but I still have a slightly unsatisfying feeling about it. Maybe it is just because I am not entirely fond of the game's background, even though I admit the atmosphere is very immersive and the graphics often look gorgeous. The combat system ends up being a bit repetitive, but it is addictive enough overall.     I played only the Director's Cut version for PS5.

    Its a good game with fun combat and a good story and deep companion side quests which are done really well and are like mini-series. Combat is fun, you can stealth it, or go in guns blazing. It included the dlc which opens up a new island which was also packed with content. I think its a worth the price if you never played the    I played only the Director's Cut version for PS5.

    Negative reviews are mostly people complaining about the price so they should be disregarded.

    My only complaint is that the in world "random" encounters get repetetive, and there is a set of armor designed specifically for exploring which reveals extra 30% of the map you explore (and there is a lot of exploring to do, and unexplored parts of the map are blacked out). It was just a nuciance to constantly switch armor sets for exploring and combat. They should just give all the armor sets the extra 30% visibility or make it default.

    The DLC Iki island also has new enemy types and armor types which effect your playstyle so it was fun.    … Expand

    Is great game Loop, That will keep you playing for a lot of hours. Entertaining And interesting, While being repetitive. Making you want to reach the end. Great at simulating the era and providing a power samurai fantasy , that becomes reality before your eyes.

    Плюсы: 1. Графика и дизайн, было бы странно, если бы тут все стало хуже 2. Пара новых геймплейных элементов, по типу игры на флейте для котов или дуэлей на палках Минусы: 1. Сюжет. Вообще никакой, 2 минуты в финале никак не оправдывают его ужасность 2. Боевка никак не разивлась, и в длс максимально наскучивает 3. Саундтрек без достойных песен 4.     Remarkable game. One of the best open world with amazing cut scenes and sceneries. Has the same flaws as any other open world but this game is polished to another level.

    Excruciatingly long introduction with unskippable cutscenes, then onto boring and repetitive "kill wave after wave of enemies" missions and world events. Combat is atrocious when you're not fighting the camera (which is most of the time) and the whole standoff gimmick seems completely pointless - it adds nothing.

    One of the best games I’ve ever played to date! Masterfully crafted and developed, great story, nice encounters and combat, exploration done near-perfect, no micro transaction on multiplayer, just a masterpiece.

    Welp, for me it's just another Playstation open world game like GoW4 and Horizon BS Dawn. Lets start reviewing, shall we? So...    Ghost of Tsushima is what they call "Assassins' Creed Japan" we craved from Ubisoft but never got 'cause Ubisoft is since long killed the AC franchise after altering it's slealth gameplay.
    You might call it the RDR2 of Japan, and you would be half right.
    Welp, for me it's just another Playstation open world game like GoW4 and Horizon BS Dawn.
    Lets start reviewing, shall we?

    So... let's get one thing straight, the story is as good as you want to think.
    It's basically the "Oh, following the Bushido Code is no good when your enemy give 0 f*cks about it" so you basically become a Nin- sorry "GhOst"..
    Funny thing is, the game actually lets you freely to choose you style of Combat.

    - "Samurai Mode" which is combat which has potential but its buggy 'cause they had to put the money into the "open world" BS
    - "The Ghost" which is you basic Farcry 3 skills, only this time the enemies are dump in some cases (sometimes they see a comrade's corpse and don't react :/ )
    - And technically Archery, which is way to good in this game since you get easy headshots with the slow-mo

    Anyway, even if you choose to NOT abandoned the Bushido code, the game will regard you as the GhOst 'cause why bothet making branches.
    Why bother? well that's easy, much like GoW4, GoT also thinks that havin' mediocre feature from every genre will make the game better.

    And let's not forget the amounts of ToDos in this game to keep you busy and make you like you money's well spent in this game, yay, I really wanted to play 40+ hours chasing foxes, birds and goddamn outposts.

    Some of you might say "but what about the side quests with the mini stories? with the characters you meet along the way?" to which I say...
    What about them? Do you remeber every single time you had to walk around and talked with them? and strolled with them?
    Was it worth it to see your character standing still, talking to the side character? Don't you want to see a cutscene that shows way more character personality? And I ain't even a story guy in video games, because you know, I want to PLAY, not read a "script".
    By "script" I mean Cory Barlog's vision of a "video game" leaving the game out

    Before I go over to my main critic, I got thing to say to this game. Did you really have to "uglify" the Japanese women?
    Especially the Mikos, which look like native Americans. Where's my Kikyo dammit XD? That's pretty Woke move you did there....
    But seriously, but why did you make the Mikos look so ugly? Googling Japanese Mikos finds me YOUNG (not old sucker punch) women usually look good and cute.
    But no, let's appeal to the Woke BS, and put in Old hags, stuck up vitch (yea, Vitch Yuna, her character is not in the slightest acting Japanese) or just plain ugly.
    Hugh... *sign* I finally released my anger on that part.

    But you know, with all the hate I bring to this review, I actually some pros for GoT.
    - The sword stances are very Unique for me.
    - The movement is good
    - And the game does have a charm, much like AC1.

    The main problem I have with GoT is the fact that it had to be another dull open world game that doesn't even try to make it interesting.
    The exploration is still boring. Yes I though that the "guiding wind" would solve the issue as well, but as it turns out, it's still forces you to open the map menu, select the point you want to go, and go. It's just that now you can actually look at the fields' and forests and not stare at a mini map.
    But that still defeats the whole purposes of exploration and navigation which are suppose to be the building of making a fun open world.
    And even then, riding with you horse from A to B is still dull.

    So you know what, maybe it's time Playstation "exclusives" will stop the open world crap and focus mainly on their gameplay.
    Because here's the potential I see in GoT, which is the combat stealth.
    If SP developed linear levels that let them to design interesting combat areas, they would have surely improved the gameplay.
    Instead of polluting an open world with boring ToDo list I have seen in other million open world trash games... you know..

    So here's my ending statement. Wake me up, when clunky combat in video games is ancient history.
    Or, Wake me up, when open world games actually have no compress to guide you and the exploration is apart of the main gameplay.    … Expand

    Im loveing the game so far great graphics excellent gameplay awesome story fun collectble and different armour enjoyable combat and I only put 25min into the game and im on act 2 at moment

    Good game, I do not regret the money spent. I'm not very happy with Sony's policy (in terms of removing the base version), but the game is amazing.

    Very fun game, the story is entertaining. Duels are fun and different enemies requiere different fighting styles which helps the game to not feel repetitive. Some side missions can be tedious but the majority are fun and give nice rewards such as cool armor pieces.

    Difficulty just a bit harder with one enemy that kind of wield a double edge spear that all their attack patterns are deadly attack so your only option is to dodge, no more parry. The last boss also designed that way that she can wield both spear and sword. I think you try to create a different pacing and fighting style in 1 fight but believe me, I didn't change my stance at all as it didn't give any effect at all.

    Story is better than the base game which I've said that the base game story way too heavy on the role on Shimura instead of Jin. In Iki Island you can finally know the story of the character you play the whole time of this game.

    Helping people around Iki island is a great improvement than helping people in Tsushima. Sometimes you need to help people in Iki Island as the mongol is destroying their village instead of making one of them become a hostage.

    Armory is great as well as you get (in my opinion) an OP armor on Iki Island and amazing skin (Ghost of Sparta, Colossus, and many more). Your horse also will get an armor on this DLC.

    Overall a great DLC but could be better in terms of story and combat which still weak in my opinion.    … Expand

Those events happened in real life too but remember the game is historic fantasy not historical accurate. The Mongols tried twice to conquer Japan and the Island of Tsushima has a great tactical valueA remarkable open world action RPG and Samurai drama. You are playing in the role of the Samurai Jin Sakai on the Island of Tsushima when the (first) Mongol invasion of Japan in 1274 started. Those events happened in real life too but remember the game is historic fantasy not historical accurate. The Mongols tried twice to conquer Japan and the Island of Tsushima has a great tactical value as it is between Japan and the Asian mainlands ruled by Mongols. It is an attack unlike the Samurai have ever seen and even more the Mongols fight to win while giving a f*** about the Samurai code of honor. The game shows this easily in the first few minutes. Jins quest is to retake Tsushima from the Mongols and save its people while struggling between the way of honor as Samurai and the things he has to do to succeed. With this the “Ghost” is born. It is a refreshing setting and won me over. The story is excellent, with good twists, well done characters and kept me going from start to finish. Additionally in the directors cut you get the multiplayer and the good add on Iki Island which gives a satisfying conclusion atop on some smaller stuff like the Kurosawa filter ;-). They manage to create a magnificent story and immersive characters that enhance the experience. Jins struggles are genuine, he is relatable and his development is always believable. Khotun Khan is a menacing and brilliant antagonist. He studied the Samurai, their code / culture, learned Japanese and uses everything he can for a tactical advantage. Of cause also impressive were Yuna, Lord Shimura, Kenji, Taka, Masako, Norio, Ryuso and all the others. Everyone has believable motives and they feel like real humans. Their developments are also fully understandable and made them even better. Then there is the gameplay. It is an action adventure and you can mostly play like you want. Be a Samurai and challenge your enemies to honorable battles or do the stealth approach, kill your enemies unseen out of the shadows or anywhere between those two extremes. As you progress you unlock new options and have a lot of variety. Be it tools, new skills, armor or improvements there is a lot to find and do. You can upgrade your weapons and armor for bonuses or find new color variations. I enjoyed the battles and that the game forced me to learn the mechanics to be efficient. Also there are many side quests, activities and other stuff. Especially the mystic tales were really good and the Shrines gave a great Tomb Raider feeling. I must also praise the style, locations and graphics. The landscapes look amazing and I was impressed. Also the armors, weapons and characters are equally good. In this regard it is one of the best games on the PS 4. Also the idea to use wind as marker is stylish. The soundtrack is amazing too and fully enhances the atmosphere. I want to praise the whole team for the effort as I clearly see that they put their heart and soul into the game. This is also valid for the Iki expansion. They improved the enemy tactics, gave a satisfying conclusion while keeping the strengths of the main game. There are some negatives. It must admit that the game got a bit repetitive towards the end but the good story negated the effect mostly. The Iki Island main story is finished really fast but otherwise good. I encounter a few not serious bugs but for today's standards this is nearly a flawless performances. Overall this is a game I fully recommend and probably the best game that I did not gave a 10/10.… Expand

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Meh. It’s not worth the price tag. Legends mode is better than even the base game, let alone Iki. Not a fan of horse charging or mystical shamans making enemies more tedious to kill. Missions are as repetitive as ever and the “puzzles” are just god awful. Also, if you’re on a PS4 be prepared for it to overheat your system. I’m really not a fan of the dlc.… Expand

    Sucker Punch won my heart with the original infamous and since then all their games keep improving on the previous one. They took a long time to release another ps4 titles but the wait was worth it. My biggest take is the absence of HUD, so you get to immerse yourself in the environment as the wind is used to guide you to your next location. My biggest gripe with most open-world games is having to spend half the time looking at the mini-map and this game solves it…Amazing to see what Sucker Punch has achieved going from Infamous Series to Ghost of Tsushima.     If there is ONE REVIEW you can trust, I want you to put all your faith into me and take my word when I say this game is one of the best open world games ever and it’s well worth every penny you spend on it. The PS4 version was good, but the PS5 version takes this game to the next level. The sheer level of detail within the world such as the foliage, particle effects, character details, and just the overall diversity in the world is breathtaking.

    The controls are very responsive and the adaptive triggers are SO well implemented. Just traveling across a bridge or different form of terrain will change how the triggers react. You can feel every bit of pressure when you pull back on the bow. The soundtrack and voice acting is very good. NOTE: I played it with Japanese audio and English subtitles which is the way I highly suggest you play it. It made it more immersive and I found the Japanese voice acting to be really good. You can really hear the emotion in the dialogue even if it’s not your native language.

    Ghost of Tsushima made me put these incredible developers near the top of my list for favorite developers in the industry. Their previous works were good, I enjoyed all the Infamous titles and earned all the trophies for them, but Ghost of Tsushima is in a different universe in terms of quality and the love that has been poured into it is overwhelming. This game to me solidified Sucker Punch as some of the best in the business. Please support amazing developers, especially ones who you can tell poured their heart and soul into the game like they did on this one. I expected some fun combat, but what impressed me most was the amazing story and dialogue, especially the further you get into the game. I’ve literally played every game you can think of, but this game in particular impressed me the most with its story telling because I did not expect such a powerful and epic journey as the one you get in this game. The way the story unfolds and its discussion of Honor and how far will you go to stand by it even in a time when people don’t deserve it, is just so cool and a great idea for this setting. The code of the Samurai is Honor, and sometimes living by tradition or not evolving when the world around you is dishonorable can ultimately cost you everything. The Expansion ‘Iki Island’ is gorgeous and again, the story is massively impressive(especially towards the end), and it made me tear up. Overall, one of the best stories in an open world game, ever. Overall, Ghost of Tsushima ends up in my TOP 3 favorite open world games of all time. It cements itself with The Witcher 3 and the original Red Dead Redemption. I’m so thankful for these developers and this phenomenal game. Thank you so much Sucker Punch. If you’re reading this and you haven’t played it yet, GO BUY IT! It’s a must own for PS5.    … Expand
