Final Fantasy XV is a must play for this end of the year. It features a concise narrative storyline but a massive amount of side quests in a huge open world to elevate the game's longevity beyond a hundred hours.

Gradual improvements mean FFXV is in slightly better shape than it was when it launched in December 2016, but it'll take more than a few additional cutscenes to make its story feel complete. [May 2018, p.96]

Final Fantasy XV: Royal Edition and the integrated Royal Pack is an enjoyable expansion making it the definitive edition to play Final Fantasy XV. That is until we get its true “complete edition” in the future.

The Royal Pack is a well-realized bundle of miscellany that refines the core Final Fantasy XV experience while reminding us that it's still an incomplete game sixteen months after launch.

We know that Final Fantasy XV: Royal Edition won't be the definitive edition of the game, since more DLC is scheduled. This is the most complete and most beautiful edition of the game thus far, but it's asking you to buy into a very good but still flawed experience that is slowly but surely catching up. If you truly can't wait until the real complete edition surfaces, you'll have a decent experience at the very least. Otherwise, pass on this title and wait another year. The mammoth project that is FFXV will eventually come to a satisfying conclusion.

Although I appreciate what the Royal Pack has brought to the lore of Insomnia, its paltry additions may only appeal to the most hardcore fans who don’t mind replaying the definitive edition of a single chapter. If you’ve never played Final Fantasy XV, the Royal Edition or Windows Edition, both of which have all the DLC – including the character episodes and bonus content not present in the Royal Pack – is the way to go.

The Royal Edition of Final Fantasy XV -due to its huge content- is targeted towards those who haven’t played the game in its initial release and for them it is a highly recommend game. On the other hand, the appreciable new content does not last long and as a result -for those who have played the original version- it can’t be a strong enough motivation to return to Eos.

Like the windows edition, this also contains all the DLC and QoL updates, so if you have yet to jump into FFXV yet now is the time to do so.

A hit in the face for those who bought the game day one.

In the end they made people who bought day One pay to develop Royal Edition and want to get even more money for selling relevant content.

Unfortunately, this isThis was a somewhat enjoyable play through the first time I did, but only took 2 weeks to Platinum trophy this game. Unfortunately, this is the worst game I've seen such continued 'support' for. Also, if you're a trophy hunter/completionist, it's annoying how they keep adding more trophies to the game that are more difficult than the main game's and require a lot of grinding to achieve. This game just feels and looks like an unorganized mess. It seemed to be in development a long time, but I wish they would've kept it in development until it was completely finished and edited properly. I think the multiplayer should've also come out at the games initial release. I had to force myself to revisit the game to play it and there's far too many other superior games. Full Review »
