    Fifa 19 is a game that is further straying away from what a football game should be based on, the games focus is too heavily on the money juggernaut which is FUT and the gameplay of FUT to be quite frank is nothing that comes even close to accurately depicting a game of football. Pacing wise FUT is just a mess with people regularly scoring stupid goals, uncontrollable situations like yourFifa 19 is a game that is further straying away from what a football game should be based on, the games focus is too heavily on the money juggernaut which is FUT and the gameplay of FUT to be quite frank is nothing that comes even close to accurately depicting a game of football. Pacing wise FUT is just a mess with people regularly scoring stupid goals, uncontrollable situations like your defending A.I. deciding to leave massive gaping holes in your defence resulting in you conceding.

    With patches coming somewhat regularly the game becomes even more unpredictable, it now looks as If Fifa/EA wish for the arcade FUT style to be brought forward onto the normal base game. Hate to say it, but this is arguably the worst state I have ever seen Fifa be in! Gameplay wise I really just don't get it, FUT is not fun the only fun factor I could perhaps take away from FUT is the grind of making a great team, but when you take gameplay into consideration its just awful there is no proper pacing the build up play is terrible.

    I would recommend the game If you're into a bit of a grind and like arcade sorts of football, but realistically most people buying Fifa will be buying it to have a somewhat realistic simulation of what a football game can be, but with the newest patch as of February 2019 I would completely tell you to avoid this game If you wish to have a good footballing experience when playing this game. If you wish to have a good game that gives you good build up play, decent AI, realistic sort of gameplay I'd tell you to get PES 2019 it is easily the best football simulator right now.

    Career mode is defunct, it is dead the devs have shown they don't care about it.
    Online divisions once were okay for a quick pick up and play, but now absolutely trashed down to the patch turning the whole game catering the FUT arcade style, same applies for Career mode, but there is nothing to do in career mode anyway.
    FUT same old cheap gambling simulator that turns 12yo's into the next line of gambling addicts, good ole EA.

    The development team is already giving up on evolving AI. It seems that we are not putting effort into the development of departments that do not require billing. You guys should develop it even in phone games. Goodbye, FIFA.

    A couple of gameplay innovations, new animation movements, faces animation, slightly improved ball physics, licenses for uefa tournaments. But after 150 matches, fifa is still the same boring. Every next match is similar to the previous one. It is upsetting. The game is definitely not worth the money.

    I picked this up for under $10 in some bargain sales and I'm not sure it's even worth that. Firstly, I am a career mode player, so anything related to FUT is irrelevant to me - I'm looking for a solid, engaging single player game, that's it. Fifa 19 delivers this is you've never bought Fifa before and this is your first football game - anyone who has even casually forayed into CareerI picked this up for under $10 in some bargain sales and I'm not sure it's even worth that. Firstly, I am a career mode player, so anything related to FUT is irrelevant to me - I'm looking for a solid, engaging single player game, that's it. Fifa 19 delivers this is you've never bought Fifa before and this is your first football game - anyone who has even casually forayed into Career mode of past Fifa's will notice that it is exactly the same. Literally nothing has changed except some Champions League skins, not what I would class as a game play upgrade of any sort.

    Ignoring EA's wanton neglect of career mode and complete lack of effort to actually improve things we come to the game play itself which is, from my perspective, the worst it has been. There are a number of significant issues which I will touch on but first it should be mentioned Fifa's new systems. The 'timed' shooting is bad but multiple reasons - 1) it is very erratic at best but, when works, is ridiculously powerful to the point of stupid, in short the balance is terrible and it adds little to the actual game play. 2) this system has changed the button set-up so now low shots are a lot more fiddly to actually use. The word 'frustrating' comes to mind. There has also been a noticeable emphasis on fast, attacking players not being able to just cripple defences with their pace - in principle not an awful idea, reduce the effectiveness of pace to reflect a more realistic game - the execution, though, is abysmal. I had a 99 pace and accelaration Mbappe smoked by a defender with both attributes below 75. Instead of EA actually designing a cogent system which naturally reduces the effectiveness of pass they have simply nerfed attacks pace/over powered defenders recovery pace. That is it. A dreadful way of programming the game but not at all surprising. They've done similar with the AI's strength before so now, instead of a balanced game, you just have unrealistic representations of players and AI that makes every AI controlled player behave the same way. There is way too much to keep talking about but in short this is, from a career mode perspective, the worst current gen Fifa.

    Don't worry though! Fifa 20 is just around the corner with exciting new features like manager customization, performance related development, press conferences, etc. Honestly, if this what people are getting buzzed about then it shows just how bad Fifa has been in recent years that these sorts of changes excite player. Manager customization should've been sorted years ago, there is no excuse. I remember performance related development being in PES6! PES6!! This is hardly ground-breaking, again it should be the minimum expected but as it's Fifa. As for press conferences? Great, another addition to get bored and frustrated with after 5 minutes that takes away game play from the actual enjoyable stuff. Even those who love Football Manager and games of that ilk don't like press conferences and things - there's never enough dialogue to keep it fresh so all's it eventually becomes is added tedium. Honestly brace yourselves for more disappointment because whilst EA drip feeds the most minor of improvements you will be forking out serious cash for what is essentially the same game, again.     Which leads me onto the argument of 'realism'. In my first game on FIFA 19 i saw a centre back execute an overhead kick. 10 minutes later another overhead kick by a striker. Next game, i concede another over head kick and I saw defenders and midfielders pull of an amazing array of skills which you wouldn't see in real life. FIFA 19 is FIFA Street on grass.

    Presentation and TV broadcast looks just like the real thing, you can't knock that, but to be honest it is the same as it has been since FIFA 14, just different things said by commentators and still looks great. Oh and there's FUT, the gambling game.

    If there was another football game who could afford all the licences that EA have then no one would even like FIFA, the masses continue to be blinded by the lights. (mostly children)    … Expand

    I have seen better games from modders and fans...EA have monopolised the licenses so any hopes for a competitor are dashed, meaning they do not have to try. AT ALL.i truly feel sorry for any developer that has to pretend to be proud of such a predatory and greedy system.

    Advice for easy improvements.

    - more customisable hairstyles
    -more commentary ( monthly patches)
    -Managerial perks/ talent tree...so every team plays different
    -update celebratsion...( jese lingard doesnt even do that celebration anymore)

    it's beyond lazy, if EA are hiring people just to pretend to work on a product for a year and simply change the tint of the menu, then hire me please i can pretend to be a developer too.

    Since FIFA 15 EA doesnt promote the best and more skiled players, they try to have a balanced game independent of skill level, so even when u feel u are destroying u are actually not, the game never feels fair for none of the sides, which means that online you will never feel secure playing it.

    The game seems too random and anybody can win,ping ponged gameplay being the reason for it mainly online, AI still dumb, making players react faster doesnt mean they are smarter, defending seems clunky in some online games feel unreactive to anything even when the opposing players are moving slow
    Even though EA made always a good job on the content they add, they never actually made a good football game in this generation in my opinion.
    If you feel like you have no actual control over a game why would you be playin it right?
    Offline is playable but not fun anymore because they did nothing to give us a better career mode
    Overall what they did was give some additions like they timed shot and better animations, nothing more script still on and stronger than ever since FIFA 15.
    I recommend EA to put some work into the gameplay and career mode cause the online content is already perfect, FIFA 19 just shows that many people stopped buying copies because of FIFA 18.    … Expand

    Gameplay in this game is horrible, This game took a solid 10 steps backwards form Fifa 18, timed finishing is horrendous and the new right stick flicking feature while pleasant to look ruins the movement aspect of the game. Passing is slower and the new ways of receiving the ball means you HAVE to use all of the preset fifa skill animations rather than moving with the right stick and haveGameplay in this game is horrible, This game took a solid 10 steps backwards form Fifa 18, timed finishing is horrendous and the new right stick flicking feature while pleasant to look ruins the movement aspect of the game.     No se por donde empezar a criticar de tantos problemas que tiene. Modo carrera una basura, no te podes ahorrar la plata no gastada en una temporada, ya que desaparece para la siguiente. No podes poner en prestamo o venta jugadores de fuerzas basicas, por mas que aceptes 15 ofertas ellos las rechazan todas pues porque si, tenian ganas. No hay sponsors/primas como en el PES, no hay ningun beneficio real por prestar jugadores, solo ahorro de sueldo parcial, no te pagan nada, eso si, si cancelas el prestamo tenes que pagar una multa bastante grande. Olvidate de los tiros libres, no hay una herramienta de practica o modo libre de simulacion, ademas de la arena que es una porqueria incompleta. Los jugadores al comprarlos te piden mas del doble de su valor, pero cuando te los quieren comprar a vos te pagan menos de su valor actual.… Expand

    The game is just like 18 and 17, the focus is the Ultimate Team, the singleplayer and multiplayer it's lacking improvement for a long time now. The last part of Alex Hunter journey is good but it's too small and it's not worth buying just for that.

    Why is Metacritic concealing the true number of User Reviews for FIFA 19?

    On the game page it reads 'Positive: 24 Mixed: 16 Negative: 165'
    On this page it reads 'Positive: 74 Mixed: 33 Negative: 540'

    The critic reviews don't change from page to page.
    The same is evident on the Xbox, PC, pages etc.

    Why? Who is paying you what to do this? How can this review site be trusted?

    This sums up how garbage this game is for me. Over the last 3 days, I play about two dozen games, 8 hours, to get enough to by a 15K gold pack and this is what I got - 6 players 2 rare 75, 2 common 75, a 79 GK common, and a duplicate 76 ST. Of the remaining there were 7 contracts (3 rare), CDM>CM, a manager card> MLS, and useless garbage. So, I played 8 hours and spent enough to buy anThis sums up how garbage this game is for me. So, I played 8 hours and spent enough to buy an entire gold team that was better than all the players in the pack. Because of this I dropped my score from a 2 to a 1.

    I have played FIFA 14, 15, 16, 17, and now 19. I had about 45 hours in 14, 80-90 in each of 15,16,17, and 57 hours in 19. That is about 700 games total over 370 hours between all versions.. I never got 18 because the scripting was so severe that I never could beat a professional level game with a bronze team in FUT or Manager mode. In fact, in 14 and 15 I lost several games in the final few seconds of the match and had several tied as well. I absolutely hate that scripted final second goal. I just played my first game of the night on World class and was up 1-0. It said +2:00 and it was 92:30 when the ball reach mid field from my keeper's kick. 4 passes and a shot later it is 1-1 at 92:50 and the game ends. The next game I get scored on instantly and the computer scores regularly during the game with 4-5 goals just in the last 1/4 of the game.After taking a long break I go back and score my first goal to go down 2-1 at 88'. At 90' I lose the ball and the computer loops it over 4 defenders to a guy falling backwards that kicks a high looping shot that the goal keeper misses. seconds later my guy gets tackled on the kickoff and they shoot. I lose 4-1. Next game I lose 3-1 and never had a chance. The next game I had 0 shots on goal and at 92' at the dot in the opponents box I shoot and get stopped by a slide tackle. They yellow card the player and spot the ball outside the big box on the corner. Needless to say the game ended the moment I shot which had no chance of getting in. This is only the second game I ever had 0 shots in the first 90 minutes. You could see the computer players move at 2-3 times normal animation speed every time they went to tackle so I could not even pass before they took it away.

    Another example from earlier in the week. Both teams rated around 64-65 and the result is a 6-0 loss.Both teams had 13 shots and 6 on target. I was 0 of 6 and the other team was 6 of 6 scoring goals.

    It is absolute bs that my goalkeeper makes only 50-75% of his saves and I have gone over 30 shots on target in a row that got taken down by the keeper. It is very common at pro level to see 90% of accurate shots saved. Each of the last two days I have seen my keeper get hit in the chest with a softly hit ball. fall backwards and the ball bounce away from the goal and then into as the keeper falls well into the goal.

    The good
    Licenses, great diversity in players and teams, and nice looking stadiums.

    The bad
    Player ratings are often wildly inaccurate. I have a 59 and 60 player that can outplay all but one of the other bronze players that are strikers in the English league that are English. I just went through the Silver English league CM list and the ones around 68-71 tend to be the best when looking at total stats, stat distribution, and weak foot.

    Scripting
    Some games you just cannot win. I have had multiple games where I never had a chance to get a shot in within 25 yards. Other games the defense was so pathetic I could score 3 times in a minute or two. I had one game that my loaner 94 striker got completely outmatched by a team that was a 65-66 rating. I tied a game in World Class with a 56 rated team versus a silver one and my players had negatives to their stats due to the chemistry being so bad. 4 times in squad battles I gave up a goal to a team in Amateur mode, 3 times because I got called for a foul in my box for trying to kick the ball out.

    The really bad
    FUT gambling casino. I have bought numerous gold premium packs and have never gotten one without a least 1 rare squad fitness except the infamous one I listed at the start of my post. Gold squad fitness are worthless as I see it. Over all the packs I have opened they have constituted close to 50% of my rares. I did get a 90 card in one of the 12.5K players packs. Since then, an 86. Yet, I opened 3 gold premium and 2 jumbo gold premium packs and not gotten over a 78 rare or 79 common during the day I got my 2 weekly packs this week. This is particularly painful given how little you get in coins per match.

    Coin reward scaling - Unless you are really good and/or have a top tier team you are going to often get a lower coin reward for more difficult games. The multiplier far more with difficulty level of the match. I have walked away from many matches with less than 365 coins awarded since starting World Class play. Granted, I am using a bronze team but the reward would not be much over 600 in a stellar performance and a gold team    … Expand

    Attacking is also equally difficult largely in part to changes in pace mechanics and passing mechanics which is a double edged sword. I get nerfing pace but in reality if I slip a through ball to a 90 odd pace player I do not expect him to be caught as easily as they will be caught in this game.

    Passing is a frustrating affair also with how pressure works in this game (It actually does work and you will be pressed hard) any erroneous pass will result in devastating counter attacks but while most of the time it was mostly my error, the trapping and lack of urgency when moving the ball quickly just makes simple A passes lead to the opponent countering.

    Creating chances is harder also but the lack of movement honestly kills me at times when trying to maintain possession you will have to keep the ball for an extraordinary amount of time before somehow one of the players decides to make a run through a defence to set up an opportunity. There's just no real flow.

    Deflections and bounces are varying degrees of unfair from mildly frustrating to controller snapping rageaholic. Whenever attempting some form of tackle the ball just bounces around and will end up in a dangerous position and it makes no sense, I hate the fact we have to charge a tackle, just tackle the ball and get it away not let it bounce several times and the opponents forward simply just rugby charge through my defenders to get the ball and score. That is not football.

    Ultimately the reviews before you speak for themselves. The lack of changes to Pro Clubs and Career Mode is shambolic and I completely agree on that front but I have to talk gameplay wise and its frustrating.

    Thats all it is, its frustrating you will get frustrated to no end because every time you lose you will find several key moments where you ask yourself "What more could I of done?" and 9/10 the answer is nothing, its just bad luck and thats not good.

    I mean the fact that this will be a eSports game is laughable.    … Expand

What really earns it a 1, though, is the server issue. One game, the game play is fine and smooth online. Then, inexplicably, the game is unplayable online. Five months into the game, EA released at least 7 patches, many substantially changing the game from its initial iteration. What really earns it a 1, though, is the server issue. One game, the game play is fine and smooth online. Then, inexplicably, the game is unplayable online. Super charged Mbappe moves like a 70 ranked player, the game does not process commands when they are made, you'll be running down the side line and the player will cut back for no reason at all expect for some disturbance in the connection, the shooting becomes impossible to execute when this occurs. The worst part is that both players do not suffer from the same problem. You will be playing a team with horrible players, but has a good connection, and they will fly around the pitch, while you can barely move. Additionally, this game costs a lot of money to play. If you want to be competitive, plan on pumping a lot of money to buy cards to get coins to purchase better players. It's fun to play when working properly, but that is so rare that mostly you just want to smash the controller because the game does not execute the commands you input in a timely manner.… Expand

    Some minor tweaks have been made. None of the bigger issues seems to be fixed - buggy referees, Kickoff-Glitch and 45min-Glitch are all still here. Along with a host of new bugs. Its disappointing that an update that cost the same as a full AAA-title introduces more bugs than it fixes.

    But that's where it ends, on the pitch where the game truly matters or to me should do it's found wanting, gameplay is unrealistic to say the least, the ball shoots around like a pinball, including hitting the post or crossbar 5 times a match if not more ,the Goalkeepers AI makes Massimo Taribi look like a world beater at times and 50/50's are about as effective as a chocolate teapot, there are so many other areas of the gameplay as well that it feels like an unfinished game (FYI I've spent about 25 hours playing this on my own and with others).

    If the above still leaves you undecided this might help, the Fifa franchise to EA sports is now quite clearly developed to be its cash cow, Ultimate Team which generates huge revenue for EA has been revamped but all other modes in my opinion have fallen to the waste side, an example of this is the career mode which has had no changes at all except everything now has a tinge of blue and the champions league music is in the game due to the new licenses.

    So in a summary, Fifa 19 is a repackaged Fifa 18 with poorer gameplay, lack of game updates especially career mode where there are none and slightly improved graphics    … Expand

    Not even a useful change in any mode except kick-off match. Even the money pulling FUT has just items menu redesign.
    Career mode unchanged.
    Multiplayer modes connection is still at 3s latency.

    1 for the soundtrack.
    Worth 5-10$ as a UCL DLC.

    Рейтинг игроков абсолютно ни на что не влияет. Сейчас твой игрок может еле двигаться и страдать фигней, а через минуту носиться со скорость х3
    Защитники и вратари в игре исключительно для вида. Чтобы в режиме FUT донатили и теребонькали на красивые картинки.
    Не пошла у канадцев третья уфц? Не беда, они добавили элементы уфц в фифу. Какие-то непонятные бодания, кувырки, фризы игроков.
    Зачем вообще на поле игроки, если мяч может пролетать сквозь них?
    А чудесные финты? Если началась анимация финта, то противник его не может прервать никак! И это спустя пол года после выхода игры и всяких патчей.

    Единственное, что отличает эту версию от предыдущей, это возможность легкого входа в игру новых игроков: Пас->Пас->Пас->Пас->Удар-гол. А потом в обратную сторону. Ну и не забывать теребонькать правый стик периодически. Вот как выглядит 19 фифа.
    Забыл еще упомянуть чудесные отскоки... Порой начинаешь задумываться, из чего сделан этот реактивный самонаводящийся "мяч", если после легкого качения он отсткакиевает от игрока вдруг с первой космической скоростью да еще и точно в ноги или на ход кому-нибудь нужному. Причем хоть на метр, хоть через пол поля с игроками.

    Le jeu est plus arcade que jamais, on s'éloigne totalement d'une simulation bien entendu pour faire plaisir au joueur bidon.

    handicap ridiculous, the goalkeeper has an artificial intelligence of at least two generations past, passes near the opposing area are wrong to be mediocre, when players have perfect opportunities for a low pass, make the pass high and err, these are just some of the mistakes totally idiots of this ridiculous game, grafics is the only positive thing, pes is better

    Everything in this game is just awful.
    1) Every year they want you to buy a patch for a full price
    2) Pay to win is even more aggressive than in free mobile games
    3) Graphics are awful
    4) Gameplay is awful
    5) Menu is awful, you just wait 3 seconds after every button press
    6) Career mode is awful
    7) Everything is awful

    Never played FUT before, so I decided to give it a try. Grind through the weekly challenges to get some packs, open those and realize there is not a single player you care for. rinse and repeat. Squad builder is even worse. Every reward pack I have got contains worse players, than the ones I exchanged. Disclaimer - There is less than 1 percent chance I will rate this game above 3

    In many ways it's a copy paste of Fifa 18, 17, 16 and so on. In other ways it's A LOT WORSE that its predecessors. Crap shooting, crap passing, crap cpu and so on.     From what I can see the game has been dumbed down to simpleton level and all you do now is mash buttons to advance the script. The AI does whatever the hell it wants and the collision detection / spacial coding is a shambles. I was going to buy this years iteration having not bought a fifa since 14. If only pes could compete but Konami continue to make the same daft game design decisions that prevent this. Looks like no footy game again for me this year, but at least I’m not 100 bucks out of pocket and my controllers not smashed to bits in frustration.    … Expand

    This game still has so many bugs and just isn't fun to play anymore. Gameplay is weak and the weekend league is just filled with pay-to-win squads that make playing pointless unless you want to grind through every game or pay real money. This game causes significantly more frustration and anger than enjoyment. Don't buy

    No change to career mode (the only mode I care about) and gameplay has taken a major step backwards. Players run like they are cripples, defence AI is non existent, cpu defenders have magnetic tractor beams and oh dear, SCRIPTING just got a whole lot worse. But I suppose the player faces look real and the grass colour is authentic. The box cover looks ok and the sun is shining. These are the only positives you’ll find in this game.    … Expand

    FIFA may have the licenses, and it certainly looks pretty enough, but out on the pitch where it counts this game is not very good, it has long standing issues that have not been addressed. PES has been the better game for football purists for the last few years and nothing has changed this year.

    With initial excitement having died down a few months after the game's release, FIFA 19 stands exposed for what it is: another recycled iteration of a franchise that sorely needs refreshing. Both off the pitch and on it, FIFA 19 is a hollow experience, yet another broken promise and a slap in the face of what we have come to expect from good game development. To truly compete in the gaming arena, FIFA must lace its boots and pull up its socks if it is to achieve what it too lazily sets out to each year.
