It finally had to come to this: Where Konami’s competition stagnates in terms of mode selection here you get a lot of content but hardly any progress on the pitch.

If EA wanted FIFA 19 to be a reconstruction, the final result is a nice try but not enough. It’s a good football game, It’s funny with its arcade touch which is really attractive. The new licenses of Champions League and Europa league with lots of Leagues around the world. The scenarios, the display of all around the football world is amazing, but the execution lacks in realism. But we can’t expect It from EA for the moment. They sell a fun football game, with some realistic touches, and that’s what millions of players buy. That’s all. And that’s enough.

Taken as the sum of its parts, FIFA 19 is the most complete and beautiful soccer game around. Upon closer inspection, the latest entry doesn't shine as brightly. There are some admittedly great additions to this year's offering, but they don't add enough to the game to make it worthwhile for returning players who are invested in single-player content.

It's promising that EA is listening to its community. FIFA 19 is much more responsive on the pitch than last year, and the company continues to evolve FUT to keep it fresh. However, the lack of progress in Career Mode and Pro Clubs is sorely inadequate. Thankfully, The Journey's continued entertainment, FUT's long-lasting nature, and some inventive new Kick Off modes mean I'll likely still be playing FIFA 19 by the time next year's game rolls around.

After many hours spent with FIFA 19, I can confidently say it is a really good game - probably the best in the series. The biggest concern for those trying to decide whether to buy or not is how much the minor incremental increases of the FIFA 18 release really matter.

Is the gameplay fun? Sure, but it’s largely the same as last year. Career mode gets Champions League branding but nothing else noteworthy. Pro Clubs and Seasons get ignored. The Journey is fun, but cannot make up for the rest of the largely ignored modes.

Yes, FIFA 19 is largely the same game you got last year, especially if you don’t care about the campaign mode, The Journey. That said, it reliably delivers the excellent soccer simulation fans are looking for. While the new features don’t compliment what’s already there, they also don’t hinder an otherwise solid experience. Those who start playing FIFA 19 will find it very difficult to stop.

With initial excitement having died down a few months after the game's release, FIFA 19 stands exposed for what it is: another recycled iteration of a franchise that sorely needs refreshing. Both off the pitch and on it, FIFA 19 is a hollow experience, yet another broken promise and a slap in the face of what we have come to expect from good game development. To truly compete in the gaming arena, FIFA must lace its boots and pull up its socks if it is to achieve what it too lazily sets out to each year.

Gameplay wise, I think it's a marked improvement over FIFA 18. I love the new modes, the new quality of life touches and even tiny changes such as being able to quickly sort cards you get from packs.

FIFA 19’s selling points may be subtle or incremental but, again, that’s because the bedrock of this game has been so deep and so strong, for so long, that its makers can work on nice-to-haves like the first touches, how 50-50 balls are won and lost, more real-life stadiums, or the broadcast presentation for Spain’s La Liga. Or maybe it’s because, having served nearly every need and expectation over the past eight or nine years, that’s all that’s left for them to work on.

FIFA 19 is better than FIFA 18 in almost every way, and it’s more fun to play than any other football game right now.

Manager mode used to be EA's pride, but the same garbage B.S put forward in Fifa and Madden, this Ultimate Team garbage needs to F-OH.

You need to understand your customers, and from what I'm seeing online is that the majority are pretty pissed off that you've just about **** on everyone that plays manager mode (which is likely over 80% of FIFA players).

Terrible. You've lost many loyal FIFA customers including me with this pathetic release. You've got alot to make up for in 2020, if you even plan to.

    Terrible.

It manipulates young kids to spend real moany to get a competitive advantage in a game rigged to ensure that you are matched with someone who has a better team than you just because they spent cash. the fact that they stop the weekly championship in FIFA 18 even though we paid for it is a proof of their manipulation tactics because they know that this competition is where the money is and want to make sure that the players move to the next FIFA trap.
it is actually amazing that an organization like Fifa which promote "Fair Play" allow its name to be associated with an organization known for its greedy and manipulative tactics regardless of the age of its customers. I guess their values are only used to decorate their executive office walls and have no place in the real world.
    Shame on you Fifa.
Exposing children to gambling like microtransaction system is unforgivable and take greed to a completely new level. hope that the regulators take serious action against companies like EA.
