    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. So, I'm a huge fan of the Far Cry series and I've played Far Cry 2, 3, 4, 5 and this one.
    Far Cry New Dawn is a standalone expansion that talks about the aftermath of the ending of Far Cry 5, with the explosions of the nuclear bombs.
    The map is still the same, and it's not so post apocaliptic, the story takes place 18 years after the fifth chapter, but it's pretty much the same map, with partially destroyed buildings and very bright vegetation that is growing everywhere.
    I really don't like all the RPG elements, they just don't have any sense in this kind of game and they actually ruin all the Far Cry in this Far Cry.
    The plot Is okay, it's pretty good to me.

    Far Cry as a franchise I love my first game was Far Cry 4 and I loved it so I played some others and Far Cry 5 blew me away. I love this game and all its fun goofy glory it won’t be very deep it’s not trying to do that it’s trying to be a video game. I like the addition of the upgrade system because it blocks the player from grinding in the beginning and just being over powered. And withFar Cry as a franchise I love my first game was Far Cry 4 and I loved it so I played some others and Far Cry 5 blew me away. I love this game and all its fun goofy glory it won’t be very deep it’s not trying to do that it’s trying to be a video game.     It was fine. I liked seeing the Far Cry 5 world explored after the…booms. Like others, I didn’t care for the antagonists. Mean to be mean. Some backstory about their “daddy” or something, but very vague. It’s a relatively short game compared to the numbered far cry games.     I enjoyed playing through this one with my friend, expect the powers only being given to the host. It isn't exactly a good far cry game but still better than far cry 5.

    Same map as far cry 5 but who cares? it's different enough, especially if you haven't played Far Cry 5 in a long time. The rpg mechanics are a great addition in my opinion. It makes things different in the formula

But I thought it was too short and the little story it had didn't please me, the missions are a little fun, the twins aren't good villains, and they almost don't appear, just by voice. Gameplay is almost the same as Far Cry 5 with few changes, and as in FC5 I liked it. And when I played (2022/2023) I found some bugs, but noneFar Cry New Dawn overall is an ok game, I enjoyed it.     The story takes place seventeen years after the events occurred in far cry 5 and to be honest they could've kept this story to themselves because it features some of the most bland and unseasoned characters I've seen in a video game. The villains, which are so forgettable that I already forgot their names, are nothing but a sad attempt at recreating Vaas by making them insane and sporadic but without any charisma or depth added to them. Also the humor in this game is really bad. It got to the point where every Ubisoft game features the same characters with the same personality and jokes just under different names.

    The fun factor I mentioned earlier came from the rpg elements introduced to the game. I get why a lot of people are against them but I think it gives this one a breath of fresh air after playing through 5 and 4 which are almost identical to 3. I also liked the home base mechanic where you can unlock new equipment , new vehicles and stuff, new types of ammo etc. The graphics and world building overall is pretty great. The music is good but it gets pretty obnoxious when you try to stealthily take out an outpost the music starts out of nowhere because a dog glanced at you from 3 miles away.

    This game is not horrible but its not worthy of praise neither, it does some stuff good and some bad and it is an overall inconsistent experience.    … Expand

    Very underrated game. Feeling of the post-apo world and finding "old" places from FC5 is awesome. Also games mechanics are better than in FC3 and FC4. I had really good fun playing new Dawn and for sure more fun than with Primal or FC4.

    This game was built on a similar system of Far Cry 5 but they added a small leveling like system to it that I despised. More specifically it was a similar system to Assassin’s Creed Unity but I found pretty quickly how to get around it.

    However, just as I hadn't the slightest desire to stay with the game longer than absolutely necessary, I have no interest in staying with this review for long.

    The game it's not bad at all. But there are a few things to go over:
    1. AI it's clumsy (most of the time)
    2. The story it's kind of absurdly terrible, mostly a complete joke!!!

    Sim, eu gostei demais do jogo. Entendo as críticas sobre as semelhanças com FC5, assim como o Primal aproveita muito do 4. Deixando isso de lado e analisando o jogo isoladamente, eu acho que vale muito a pena, é um FC menor (do tamanho que todos deveriam ser). Acho que vale a pena pegar em uma promoção.

The gun had unlimited ammo and you never had to reload. The gun would be shot and would blow up everything around it. The post apocalyptic theme is nice and the vibrant colors look really nice. But god do I have things to say. Every companion is terrible in their own way. Every human companion besides the besides the Judge is annoying and Timber and the boar (I forgot it's name) Are way too op. But i'm talking out of my ass here because I used companions for about 9 minutes before going solo. I only used them when I was testing them thinking one would be different. They tried to re use the Far Cry 5 map but fell flat on their face. The RPG element is terrible too. RPGS usually take me about 200+ hours to finish. They wear me out incredibly easy and make me feel lazy for not doing side quests. Far Cry New Dawn tries their best to shove this element into Far Cry 5 and fail. Also please don't give us another **** silent protag. Personally I get where they're coming from thinking people can be themselves by customization to make them look like they're real life person. The problem is that their voice can not be transferred into the game and they can't talk to anyone. It makes it even less immersive. I hear Far Cry 6 has a voice acted character tho but I haven't play 6 yet as i'm waiting to get a PS5. So I overall do not like this game at all. Pros are the vibrant color scheme and the post apocalyptic theme. Cons..... Everything else .… Expand

    Новая механика прокачки понравилась больше, чем убей 20 коз, поймай 15 пум итд. Особенно понравилась система прокачки оружия, объясню почему. В частях 3, 4, да и 5, я проходил всю игру до конца с оружием, полученным за первые 3 часа игры, не смотря на огромное количество пушек, покупать их особого смысла не было. Все они отличались от начальных, какими то    А мне игра понравилась.
    Новая механика прокачки понравилась больше, чем убей 20 коз, поймай 15 пум итд. Особенно понравилась система прокачки оружия, объясню почему. В частях 3, 4, да и 5, я проходил всю игру до конца с оружием, полученным за первые 3 часа игры, не смотря на огромное количество пушек, покупать их особого смысла не было. Все они отличались от начальных, какими то смехотворными параметрами и тратить на них ресурсы смысла я не видел вообще. Особенно на золотые, с жопораздирающими заданиями, тем паче, что эти самые золотые были зачастую даже хуже по параметрам, чем обычные. Сейчас же оружие стало очень желанно, так как без его улучшения проходить стало очень трудно, и мне это нравится.
    Еще напарники. Они тоже стали прокачиваемые. Теперь у них есть открываемые способности, которые реально облегчают прохождение. В отличие от 5й части, которую я прошел всю с одним напарником, отпуская или приглашая его (по ситуации). В этой части я реально менял 4х напарников, которые мне были нужны в данный момент (и это, правда работает). Так держать!
    Сюжет хорошо вплетен в канву 5й части и, на мой взгляд, логически ее завершает.
    Минус игре за этот гребаный феминизм, но к сожаленью это бренд последних лет.
    И ещё животные! Ооо в этой игре это настоящие монстры, особенно в начале. Одна пума убила меня 3 раза! Я высадил в нее 3 рожка из автомата, а она просто убегала и снова возвращалась! При том данная пума не какое то элитное животное, а совершенно обычное. Хотя это делает ещё более желанным способность одного из напарников!
    Короче, New Dawn хорошее дополнение-завершение 5й части за свои деньги. Не надо воспринимать игру как самостоятельное произведение, ее прохождение может доставить удовольствие, только после полного прохождения 5й части и больше ни как! Разработчики идут в верном направлении, на мой взгляд!    … Expand

    Ubisoft just can't help itself and always purposely unbalance games to make you grind. The difficulty jump in the Problem Solver mission is juuuuust redicilous. I wasn't going to spend extra hours to get level 4 weapons just to finish the game. Otherwise, it is a good game. Oh, wow, the frame rate is terrible.

    Es un buen juego pero tiene una historia muy corta, aunque por otra parte es muy original es muy atrevido lo del mapa colorido y armas muy originales. En fin un buen juego pero un poco msl hecho. Por cierto no compreis los Dlc que en mi opinión son reciclados.

    Just getting back to Far Cry New Dawn in preparation for Far Cry 6. I'm really enjoying the game. I like all the RPG progression unlocks. The style and color palette are more creative, lively. I like oddball animals. Most entertaining Far Cry I've played. I like when they take this franchise to something more interesting than just foliage and guns like the Far Cry 5: Lost on Mars DLC.

    Feels a little like chashing in on the previous game. but this is not a bad game. COOP is actually better, techwise its a better game than FC5, but no real surprises just minor improvement. Story is ok. If you like the franchise and have a friend to play with this is good stuff.

    Somehow they manage to make this even worst than Far Cry 5. This enemy ranking system is so bad that it should not be exist. You have no way to beat some lvl 3 cougar when you are lvl 1, so they take all the fun from exploration away. How bad will FC 6 be when these gets worst and worst. So disappointed for this.

    Bland story, boring repetitive missions, great performances for the twins and once again Greg byrk who’s Joseph Seed wasn’t given anytime in both 5 and new dawn to truly flourish and the game around let him down twice.

    Keep in mind I'm rating this based on paying 12 dollars for it as it's on sale on the psn network. That being said it is just as enjoyable as far cry 5 . Yes the map is the same but it's not a deal breaker. The most annoying part of the game is the horrible music.

Crafting is far superior than any of the previous games. Treasure hunts are awesome,driving feels much better. There are legendary guns,legendary animals,the enemy has ranks with much more defined health barsI don’t understand why people are hating on this game. Because the map was reused? So what? Played about 6 hours without ever touching a story mission. Bottom line is,this game is the best in the series since Farcry 3. I guess people just looking for stuff to complain about these days. При этом игра и стоила изначально не фуллпрайсно, а около 2-ух тысяч ( при цене на тот момент новой игры в 4500). За эти деньги это топчик. ИзЛучшая игра со времён 3-ей части! Создана на основе 5-ой части и как её продолжение. Игра довольно короткая: сюжетную часть можно пройти часов за 8. Но при этом она довольно интенсивная в эмоциональном и развлекательном плане, не успевает наскучить. При этом игра и стоила изначально не фуллпрайсно, а около 2-ух тысяч ( при цене на тот момент новой игры в 4500). За эти деньги это топчик. Из ярких нововведений - оружие пиломёт. Из названия ясно чем выстреливает, при этом рикошетит до 3-х целей с одного выстрела. Это оружие позволяет легко и весело поражать несколько противников, не парясь с прицеливанием, при этом его урон не отличается при попадании в голову или другую часть тела, что особенно удобно при игре на геймпаде. Короче, Юбисофт явно постарались, чтобы люди могли расслабиться и получать удовольствие от этого шутана на любой платформе. По сюжету могу сказать, что изначально негативно относился к сестричкам, но сценаристам получилось их неплохо раскрыть и я даже немного проникся к ним. Не было перебора с наркоманий, как в прошлой части, где через музыку околдовывали главного героя, невероятно глупыми способами пленяли и делали всякие нечисти, чтобы дать возможность показать пару катсцен с очередным братом или сестрой злодейкой, дабы раскрыть перед тем как мы их уничтожим. В Новом Рассвете мы играем в постапокалиптическом мире, где уже многое возможно. К сюжету сложно придраться, мол "НУ ЭТО ЖЕ НЕВЕРОЯТНО". Сетинг решает! Отличный сюжетный твист с главным злодеем и главным героем 5-ой части. Да, даже протагониста 5-ой части мы сможем встретить в new dawn, но поймут это лишь внимательные. :) В целом за счёт отсылок, твистов и проработанности сюжет получился, не побоюсь этого слова, отличным! Я даже не помню, использовал ли я вообще когда либо этого слово относительно сюжета игр от юбисофт... сомневаюсь. Конечно, игра не обошлась без пары багов, у меня например так и не получилось производить скрытые мультиубийства, при этом я играл в начале 2021, непосредственно перед выходом уже 6-ой части. Итог такой: рекомендую к прохождению, предварительно ознакомившись с 5-ой частью.

    Good story but not as good as Far Cry 5. It is a sequel to Far Cry 5 and I like how the story continues but unfortunately short.
    Gameplay is identical to Far Cry 5 so pretty good.
    The map and story as I said are short which is a bummer but not a big deal.
    Co-op is very fun and is recommended.
    Overall Far Cry New Dawn is a good game.

    the worst game in the series. weapons and enemies have tiers = only high tier weapons can kill enemies. Taking cover, running, aiming and shooting mean nothing, because if you don't have a high tier weapon, you can't kill enemies. this game is like a retarded imitation of borderlands

    Audio options are still an issue. Like Far Cry 5, you can't set sound effects/music/speech volumes, only a single master volume. This is especially annoying as music is quiet, speech is quiet, sound effect are LOUD. I had to keep the remote by me to constantly turn the volume up and down anytime I needed to shoot.
    At least subtitles are much easier to read than with FC5.

    As for the game: Such a better introduction to the game than Far Cry 5. An actual plot, and story missions! Choices that feel like they mean something (even though they don't) whereas in FC5 they didn't even feel like they mattered.

    I found New Dawn a strange experience. Once I figured out how to play the game in a less grindy way, and not needing to buy Farcry Currency, I started to enjoy the world more than Far Cry 5's due to the visual style. I also liked the techno soundtrack a lot, (despite struggling to hear it which is the exact same issue as with Far Cry 5). And I very much liked the better narrated and coherent story of New Dawn, as opposed to Far Cry 5's hands-off method of not revealing any story until you reach the bosses, and then having a very unpredictable ending that comes out of nowhere.

    Like with all Far Cry standalone dlc (games inbetween major number releases 1-5), New Dawn is visually striking and very different in tone to any other. Like Blood dragon, and Primal, the game has a vastly different visual style, in this case, extremely high contrast. Compared to the very toned down color palette of Far Cry5, the game is much more visually interesting to look at.

    New Dawn feels like a strange hybrid of destiny mixed with a fortnite clone. With the high contrast colours, random supply drops you have to race to before the enemies. Arcadey hitcounters with every shot, and enemy damage levels (level 1,2,3 and elite) which can only be killed with appropriate level weapons (or a lot of grinding and luck with a bad weapon).

    The biggest issue with New Dawn, is the sudden and prominent presence of microtransactions, they're hard to miss. Without spending your real money in exchange for Farcry Currency, it means you'll be using very weak weapons, and having to hunt for unarmoured vehicles which won't last long and might even blow up when you climb in, otherwise walking EVERYWHERE. However, the best thing you can do in New Dawn is find and ally yourself with Horatio as soon as possible. Once you start using Horatio, and start upgrading the home base (specifically weapons, max health, hired guns and cartography) plus the perk to disable vehicle boobytraps, the game immediately becomes less frustrating.
    I enjoyed walking around the world discovering the various tasks and quests, as it was far less of an issue to stumble into a group of enemies, find their vehicle and drive around for a little while.

    Upgrading medkits, vehicles, and explosives are pretty pointless in New Dawn. So leaving those upgrades to last, whilst getting as much ethanol from outposts as possible means you can actually get around the world without constantly dying, and can have a chance of surviving later story missions which really need you to be max level in weapons and health. Also, doing the first couple of levels of the expedition missions earlyish to get the scrap needed for weapon upgrades is a smart idea.

    Until I figured out what to focus on upgrading, I was angry at New Dawn constantly punishing players not willing to pay to win (spend real money to unlock rewards in-game). You can only fast travel to liberated outposts, but then you must salvage any liberated outposts for ethanol to have any chance of killing any elite enemies. Upgrading the garage/buying cars is useless in this game, as you can only spawn them from liberated outposts, but you get much-needed ethanol by scavaging liberated outposts, which means you can't spawn them anymore. So until you get fast travel, you're walking everywhere.

    Cartography is the most important upgrade as it lets you fast travel, but you can't fast travel to story missions or scavenged outposts, so you must fast travel to the nearest scrap location and walk from there. Once you finally get airdrop fast-travel you can airdrop from these scrap locations and glide to where you actually want to go.

    I fear microtransactions will ruin the Far Cry games, and worry what Far Cry 6 will be like.    … Expand

    I have just purchased this game and I have not played FarCry 5 for at least 6 months. It is refreshing and I like that you continue the story. It has all of the noraml challenges that you find in FarCry. I understand that if you just finish 5 and then start this, it would be repetitive.     The same core gameplay mechanics dominate this game. The start of the game sees you hoisted into the beginnings of a rebel camp against overwhelming odds. From there you must recruit allies, take over enemy bases, upgrade your own and explore the locale for resources. Does this sound familiar? It should - it's been the structure of every Far Cry game since the fourth, if not earlier.

    If you haven't played any other Far Cry game, this could be half-decent, but these tired old open-world mechanics are very repetitive and very lazy to continue to be relied upon by Ubisoft at this point.

    One other key thing is worth mentioning, which is the microtransactions that are not-so-discretely slotted into the game and can greatly expedite your progress at the expense of more hard-earned cash, unlike the cash that Ubisoft rakes in every year from this crap.

    Really, Far Cry New Dawn has absolutely nothing new about it. Don't bother with this even though it's practically a bargain-bin game by now. There's a reason why I found it there.    … Expand

    New dawn is fun anyway and in some ways better then FarCry5. But tier weapons and enemies making you use what you need and not what you want.

    As long as you understand what you're getting here, it's a fine game. A lot of negative reviews here from people that probably never played it. It's sort of like a piece of Far Cry 5. It was fun, graphics looked good, and the bow is overpowered just like in the past. If you like Far Cry it's worth a try. I picked it up at a heavy discount on sale.

    This game is a shame, it should have been similar like Uncharted The Lost Legacy was, so more than a a simple DLC. Nonetheless it is another edition of Far Cry 5 which was also a great disappointment compare to 3 & 4. New Dawn and 5 are also very repetitive, monoton & tedious, unlike Lost Legacy which was playing in a whole new place with another excellent characters.

If that sounds stupid to you, well that's because it is and that's whats in store in this game.
    This game takes place in hope country 17 years after Far Cry 5's resist ending, and after spending 40 hours on the game and getting the platinum last night, I can say that Far Cry New Dawn is worth $30 at most, maybe $20. Its basically a portion of Far Cry 5's open world map re-skinned with the vast majority of Jacob's region being inaccessible due to radiation pollution. Only John and Faith's regions remain mostly accessible.
    All I can say about the story without spoiling it is that its just alright, and it is interesting enough to keep you playing it until the end. The final boss is a pain in the ass if you try to beat it with level 2 weapons or below.
    Some characters introduced in FC5 come back in this game, others don't, but at least you get notes and recordings that let you know what happened to them, but others get no conclusion at all, leaving their ultimate fate unknown, which I found unsatisfying. It feels like they were rushed to make this game that /should have been a $20 expansion to FC5. 7/10    … Expand

There are few villains I have hated more than the Twins, and Joseph Seed is back once again. I can't really qualify him as a villain in this game however, since he seems to have understood the error of his ways at the end. I am disappointed we did not get more closure of the Deputy from Far Cry 5. It is implicitly through notes left being that they became the judge and converted to Eden way of thinking, taking a vow of silence. I would have liked to see some type of closure with the character instead of largely ignoring it all together. If does however, do a good job of bringing characters from 5 and adapting it to a apocalypse

    Gameplay is probably where is has it's biggest flaws. Being a smaller map, the developers obviously wanted to still provide content. Unfortunately, what we get is a grinding suck fest. Constantly attacking an outpost and then letting it be retaken, only to take it again for greater ethanol awards sounds great, but in reality it feels just boring and tedious. This goes double for the new expedition addition. First... flying from Montana all the way to Florida on that helicopter is ridiculously implausible, but even more so, having to do all 7 of them 3 different times was a grind that often felt not worth it. Thank goodness that trophy was a gold one. If it was bronze, I never would have gone through with it.

    It's more like a 7-8 great fun hope they carry on with some of the new mechanics and post nuclear theme. I rated 10 though to try and ballence out some of the people who review boomed it. No way is it a 0, if it was awarded a 4-6 I would say fair play because people like different things but 0 implies it's broken which it isnt

    Todo esse processo pra deixar o game mais enxuto acabou por consequência reduzir a duração do mesmo, eu por exemplo platinei ele em 20 horas, eu prefiro um game curto e direto ao ponto do que um longo que só é longo por ter o mapa cheio de coisa repetitiva e genérica para fazer, como é o caso do game Mad Max e Far Cry 5, que o mapa é poluído de coisa chata pra fazer só pra ocupar o jogador, e ao contrário de games como Witcher 3 e Zelda Breath of the Wild que as coisas do mapa ficaram de forma naturais pra se fazer, muito bem implementadas.

    A história desse Far Cry é continuação direta do 5, e está no mesmo nível dos outros da franquia, bem ok pra fraca, o melhorzinho até agora é a do 3, mas até o 3 a história não é lá grandes coisas, o foco do Far Cry sempre vai ser a jogabilidade, que por sinal já esta bem saturada por ser mais do mesmo, mas até que os elementos de RPG incluídos no New Dawn e a ambientação do game até que deu um pouquinho mais de fôlego para o game.    … Expand

    Glad I didnt pay full price for this. I know it's a continuation of FC5 but its half the game. Yes there are new weapons and vehicles but the whole game is missing so much. Less collectables less main and side missions and a really week story. Ok if you pay £10 for it

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. This is low key my favorite Far Cry game, and I've played every one from FC2 on. I know, I know--hear me out. Admittedly, some of this is subjective; I love post apocalypse settings, and this series generally. But this one is a really unique take that puts everything that made FC5 such a blast to play in a far more compelling setting. I really liked FC5, but I felt like the sadistic nature of its enemies and the overall conflict was a jarring contrast with the goofy, over the top characters you met and got as companions. The way they (or their memories) get revisited here is way more fitting and compelling. FC5 could have been a truly riveting story, but Ubisoft had to bend over backwards to make sure no one could remotely accuse them of actually saying anything of substance with it. That largely ruined its potential. FC:ND suffers from nothing like that, and as a result is an absolute blast to play and get lost in. Yes, the RPG elements are shallow and the lack of a new game plus sucks, but it's still just a huge amount of fun in a beautiful and interesting world. You can get it these days pretty cheap, and it's well worth the investment.… Expand

    This game is awesome. If the boss fights were better it would be a solid 10/10 from me. I understand the complaints that it was similar to Far Cry 5 and overpriced but I never played Far Cry 5 and I got the game cheap so that doesn't affect my rating.

    This should have been a small DLC to Far Cry 5, nothing more. There is way too much of an atmosphere breaking, unrealistic pink theme to it that it cant be taken seriously. Its not even entertaining. The story is hot garbage and the antagonists are ao awful.

But once you hit the legendary weapons to craft they get fairly easy to put down. Even the wildlife attacking you demands 2 boxes of shotgun shells to be put down to start with.
    I found the whole game to be very uneven. Enemies does not level up as you do. They are tough as nails in the beginning but super easy in the end.
    There is not much collectibles on this map that Ubisoft is known to litter it with. Due to the short story, you find everything else excess once it's over.
    The more fun aspect of this game are the Expedition missions which takes you to a whole different map out of Hope County. There are 5 of them, but even those gets repetetive pretty quick as they have the same mission every time.
    Like the original Far Cry 5, you have allies to join you. A total of 6 braindead characters with low AI, one dog and one boar (?) (Yes Hurk does a comeback once again as one of them) But i had only used half of them when i was done. Never bothered to use the others. If you want to be flexible with allies, get them early in the game.
    Voice acting is usually dreadful. no biggie there.
    Combat itself is a mess. Totally disorientating once the heat starts building up. Because of the glittering fauna around you sort of blinds your sight you can barely see anything once bullet starts flying. if you are in the hole getting fired on from all sides, just run and hide.
    I am going to finish it as there are little else to play now. Once done with the story. Grind a little more for no reason. finish the expedition on all levels for some achievements and delete the whole thing from the drive.

    Pretty terrible. Short story. Annoying & uninteresting characters. Reused assets galore, poorly implemented. Shallow RPG elements. Small reused map & locations. Microtransactions. Terrible AI. Stale graphics engine & movement system that's not evolved in 5-6yrs.

    This game is nothing but a cash-grab pure & simple. A game nobody asked for.

    This franchise need some refreshments. Same as in FC5 main story is weakest part. Boring without any sense make you do main missions just to finish story ASAP. Side missions are fun to do, but repetitive.

    A pleasant experience with a quite interesting atmosphere. I played it before far cry 5, so I have no comparison to its predecessor. The worst element is the antagonist, two sisters who appear quite rarely and are not very expressive. overall, I really liked the game, its atmosphere and mechanics

    Far Cry New Dawn seemed like it was a section of Far Cry 5 that was removed from base game due to development deadlines. Honestly, had New Dawn been the final chapter for Far Cry 5 (as it did have the same assets and only had minor improvements) then it would've made FC5 a better game.

    The game is still fun in terms that it plays just like any other Far Cry game.     I haven't gotten very far yet, but from what i have played it's really enjoyable. Especially if you liked Far Cry 5. Sure it's almost a straight copy, but there's new gameplay features that help make it it's own game. It's a nice familiar setting that'll be good to grind and go for trophies until Far Cry 6.

    honestly the game is pretty decent. i would give it at least an 8/10, but the egregious microtransactions really bring this game down. They give you 450 of the fake currency throughout the gameplay but its still 150 short of buying anything good in the game and that is definitely no coincidence. until microtransactions die I cannot recommend this game or any far cry game to anyone.

    I enjoyed it simply because i wanted more Far Cry 5 and it was obvious they would make a direct sequel if an ending like that. If you enjoyed Far Cry 5 and wouldn't mind more of it then i would say it's worth a buy.

    Absolutely loved FC5 for being based in the present with contemporary issues, but this was even better. I loved loved this second episode. Yes it was an expansion but it was a 15 hr expansion for me which I enjoyed even more than FC5!

    Far cry new dawn, looks great with bright and vibrant world based on a portion of the far cry 5 map. It has some interesting nods to previous games which is a nice touch. But this aside, is not enough to save it from being, frankly quite boring. There is fun to be had at times, but pretty few and far between. There's some interesting new weapons and a new roster as you'd expect. I paid £20 for this and was left disappointed, maybe £10-£15 would be a fairer price, for what ultimately large dlc.… Expand

    Sure, I am used to playing open world games, but even Fallout 76 is better than this. Fall into a creek? Expect a nightmare of game play to get out. Totally on 90's gameplay rails as far as experience goes. Terrible game.:{

    Far Cry New Dawn does everything you'd expect from a Far Cry title. However, it failed to deliver the same level of polish and enjoyment its predecessor enjoyed, and while it’s still packed with buckets of fun, I couldn't help shake the feeling that I’ve done all this before.

    New Dawn is a clearing of the air after Far Cry 5, but calling it a "new dawn" is preposterous. What we have here is a sideways hop, a purgatory of a sequel in a series that has no idea what to do with itself, beyond giving you another mapful of nodes to flip. [Issue#331, p.116]
