    Magnificent.Though a few old favourite elements of mine are gone (poker,skinning animations,some hunting and crafting elements,weapon deg etc),the series really needed a revamp.The new mission structure is excellent,as is the fantastic characters and acting.I was initially hestitant regarding the setting,but now it's difficult to believe it could be set anywhere else.Everything fits like aMagnificent.Though a few old favourite elements of mine are gone (poker,skinning animations,some hunting and crafting elements,weapon deg etc),the series really needed a revamp.The new mission structure is excellent,as is the fantastic characters and acting.I was initially hestitant regarding the setting,but now it's difficult to believe it could be set anywhere else.Everything fits like a glove and I loved the story,which surprised me.The Seed family being particulary great.Co-op is a real highlight.Playing with a friend is probably the best thing about FC5,and sharing the experience with another person should be a feature in many games of this nature.From the beginning of the game,even though the game mildy guides you,simply pick a direction and go for it.Craft your own experience...It looks and feels awesome and time flies by while playing.I would like a harder,survivalist type difficulty and live in FC5 for some time,with more repercussions for dying.Other than that,it's a ten for mine.… Expand

    Amazing characters and really powerful graphics since Horizon Zero Dawn, (PS4 Pro) Montana is a really great and mysterious place. Thank you Ubisoft for all Far Cry series.

    It has been a while that i had so much fun in a game. It's a beautiful game with lots to do and a lot of action. Recommend it!

    Far Cry5 is the best far Cry game what made, the story of characters even made ME a cold hearted manI nearly cried, its way better than Far cry 3 was in EVERY ASPECT! The endings was great, something new finally not a easily predicted game like far cry 3 was, the main protagonist is great finally we can chose between female,male somewhat unique in this gaming industry that theFar Cry5 is the best far Cry game what made, the story of characters even made ME a cold hearted manI nearly cried, its way better than Far cry 3 was in EVERY ASPECT!     Incredible, from beginning to end. Immersive graphics and atmosphere coupled with great music and gameplay come together to make this my favorite Far Cry game to date, and one of my favorite games of 2018 so far. Must have for a Far Cry fan and those even slightly interested shouldn't be disappointed here. Great job by the developers and looking forward to future releases.

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. I will give my honest opinion. I've been a gamer since I had my first computer. A Commodore 64k. I am 42 years old and what I am passionate about games is history. It may have bad graphics but if it has a good story it got me hooked. I am very demanding when it comes to playing a game. But I have to admit that I really liked this story. That of having several missions outside the main one was the most that I liked. Implementing animal bodyguards that was the best part of the game. The dog, the bear and the cougar I really love ...Also did not know that it was compatible with RGB sync. When I see all the lights start to turn the colors of the American flag. I mean the lights are changing depends on how the game unfolds, when you die I like that kind of games and with these effects they ate it. I recommend this game to those who like first person shooting. It has a good story that there are even parts where messages reach the player directly. It is my humble opinion. Excellent game I hope you continue the story. Somehow. We want more.....… Expand

    This is by far the best Far Cry,Ive played every one and this is amazing. Its damn near perfect. Ive been a gamer for 30 years and havent had this much fun just screwing around in a long time,its always something going on,from wing suit challenges to quad races,hunting,fishing and more,this games for people looking to just have fun,all you people giving this game zeros need to lightenThis is by far the best Far Cry,Ive played every one and this is amazing.     Where to begin.... Far Cry 5 does enough to improve on some needed areas like no mini map and removal of towers, to make it fresh and fun from an interface/immersion perspective. Ubisoft left in all of the excellent Far Cry we love, with a compelling story and amazing location. I feel that Ubisoft is one of the few AAA game makers that gives you a lot of content in the core game so youWhere to begin.... Far Cry 5 does enough to improve on some needed areas like no mini map and removal of towers, to make it fresh and fun from an interface/immersion perspective. Ubisoft left in all of the excellent Far Cry we love, with a compelling story and amazing location. I feel that Ubisoft is one of the few AAA game makers that gives you a lot of content in the core game so you don't feel cheated (looking at you Activision & EA). The addition of being able to play co-op is great or use one of the characters in the game to back you up. Its awesome!!! Now I get to share the fun with a friend all the way through the story and it adds replay value when helping a buddy with missions you have already completed. I can't wait to see what else Far Cry 5 has in store as I progress through the game. No I am not in the game industry, I am just a gamer and appreciate a good game when one comes along.… Expand

    By far the best FarCry of the series. It stays true to its formula but advances it in nearly every aspect. I am glad to see that after they took a step back with FarCry 4, they are going in the right direction again. And I havent even played the Arcade Mode with the Level-Editor. Obviously this is not a 10/10 Game, but with all the haters its like you can only vote 10 or 0. I would giveBy far the best FarCry of the series.     The absolutely best one in the franchise so far. Stunning graphics, incredible gameplay (it never felt so good to shoot people and ride vehicles!) and a very interesting story with charismatic characters. Finally, Montana is so beautiful I can't believe it. 10/10 for me.

    My favorite Far Cry so far. I played the hell out of it. I understand why the story made some conservative players in the US cringe, but hey the game is not about trying to please anyone. It’s a creative take on what’s been going on in the US the last few years. Take it or leave it!

    Great So far. About 8 hours in. I cant wait to get back to playing. I have so many games in my backlog to start and finish and i cant wait to get back to this game. Its fun. thats it. its just fun.

    I absolutely love it! Please do yourself a favor and Don't listen to all the people whining and complaining. I honestly don't understand the negative reviews. I've been a huge fan of Far Cry since Far Cry 3 and if your a fan of Far cry as well, pick this game up.

    I love this series, I have enjoyed them all, tons of a fun in a big open sand box. A lot of people complain about the story from iteration to iteration but I've never thought any of the stories were that great I just enjoy roaming the maps and doing side objectives and always have a great time.

The story also sucked in Far Cry 4, I can't even tell you why I killed the last boss.     Running and gunning is better than ever before, and they tuned all the gameplay mechanics to make one of the tightest FPS I've played in forever. They also dramatically improved vehicle handling, so now I look forward to driving around instead of treating it like a chore.
    If you like action games, or hell even if you don't, but want to feel like you're living in an action movie, this is a must-buy!    … Expand

It puts the whole world in another perspective. A perspective that we in the real world should consider could actually be for the better. As it's maybe how it always was supposed to be before we created what earth is today. A place we created, soon a place we destroyed. Joseph was actually trying to do the right thing. The thing no one dares to do or speak loud about. He was trying to save the human race from ourselves. Don't get me wrong, I'm not insane. But life is precious and I'm not sure we have as much time as we think we have left to appreciate this beautiful gift we've been given. Because in the end, we will all die under the same feet of our own race. Just because we didn't have faith in each other. And of the cause, the ending is supposed to hit you this way. It's simply there to make you feel stupid because all the effort you went through with killing endless amount of people who actually just tried to save us from extinction is surely something that goes against ''gods will''. Cause, in the end, Joseph turns out as the good guy when he offers redemption ''in the eyes of god'' from our sins we've made throughout the whole game. This is clearly why there's no good ending. Cause why should there be a good ending when we were the bad guys all along?… Expand

There is one really bad assett in game the boxes of apples look like ps1 apples really weird. Maybe its a joke bad apples i dunno.     Wow, i love this game. So what its far fetched, not touching on political subjects. Its about fun, and this game is fun as hell. I am from England, but i wish i was American, just because there are alot of messesd up things goin on in all our countries, this is a break from the norm.     Far Cry 5 is much more than an extremely gratifying compilation of all gameplay features, story tropes, elements and mechanics that make the Far Cry series so great, but it raises the stakes and expands on everything by adding a great deal of things that previous Far Cry games have lacked in comparison. Without changing the essence of what makes Far Cry work, this newest edition createsFar Cry 5 is much more than an extremely gratifying compilation of all gameplay features, story tropes, elements and mechanics that make the Far Cry series so great, but it raises the stakes and expands on everything by adding a great deal of things that previous Far Cry games have lacked in comparison. Without changing the essence of what makes Far Cry work, this newest edition creates it’s own identity by really focusing on the setting and culture instead of an underdeveloped protagonist trying to be a lovable hero. The antagonists and supporting characters really get the narrative emphasis but the sheer amount of them all filling up the immense world means that the story this game tells can go on for as long as the player wishes it to.

    Compared to the others in this franchise, this game is the longest by far and easily as the most to offer. There aren’t necessarily more missions but the construction of the campaign means that every side mission, every collectible, every rescue, and every kill you get simply by exploring all help lead you to the end of the game. Previous entries offered relics to collect but their only purpose was to help you level up and get money. Here, everything you do offers Resistance points which, when built up, alarms the enemy forces and sends them hunting for you. By far, this is the most rewarding system set up in these games as exploration is still promoted but it actually feels like it all has meaning now, I’m not just climbing radio towers to be able to look at a map and I’m not just talking to people in order to get skill points which felt incredibly refreshing.

    Exploration is rewarding because you get what you put in: the more you explore, the more you unlock, the more experience you gain, and the farther along in the story you go. It’s also made much more accessible as you’ll be able to travel by foot or in vehicle to any point on the map. Far Cry 4 was gorgeous but the mountainous landscape made it quite difficult to traverse at times and if it wasn’t for the grappling hook in that game or Far Cry Primal, getting from point A to B would have been a nightmare (see Far Cry 2). In this game, though, you’re still offered a grappling hook if you love walking places but you’re also given the ability to fly. You can spawn helicopters, airplanes, and even fast travel to a destination via air drop (once you unlock the wingsuit and parachute). This is simply the most enjoyable game in this series, for that reason and many, many others.

    You know what I’m going to say… Far Cry works best when it balances tones in a fun, action-packed open-world and no game has yet done that better than this one. With the inclusion of hilarious jokes and references (Blood Dragon 3 side mission, Larry’s alien experiments, Clutch Nixon stunt runs, and the ability to dress up as Vaas, an Omega soldier, Pagan Min, or a caveman) but contrasted with the terrifying villains who believe wholeheartedly that their cause is just (and soldiers that follow them out of desire instead of necessity) makes for one hell of a story to experience. While there is absolutely no protagonist development to speak of, I don’t fault the game at all for it because that lack of characterization actually puts the emphasis where it matters which is on the antagonists and supporting characters. I never thought I’d write that because it goes against classical storytelling but I can’t deny that it worked in this game’s favor.

    Before I slap a rating on this bad boy, I think it would be fair to discuss the ways in this game didn’t live up to my expectations. I would have liked to see the return of the crossbow from Far Cry 4 instead of the addition of the sling shot but there were enough weapons and variations of them to compensate enough. I also would have liked to see more types of takedowns because since Far Cry 3, I don’t think any new ones have been added. Blood Dragon, Far Cry 4, and Primal just have all piggybacked off of the ingenuity that the 3 offered in that regard, and Far Cry 5 does the same exact thing. It would have been so cool to see more styles of takedown, and although there were new animations for takedowns based on what weapon you were holding (which Primal did), there weren’t any new mechanics added. Like, just add a takedown for if you’re behind an enemy while crouching instead of the crouching/standing takedowns being the same. It would be so easy and that one addition would create so much variation in what I see when I liberate an outpost.    … Expand

    BEST REPLY VALUE OF ANY GAME I HAVE EVER PLAYED!!! Wow!!! Incredible!!! Action packed!!! Amazing graphics, story and I can't stop playing this masterpiece of an open world sandbox!!!! This is a must play and the best far cry of the series by far!!!

    Absolutely love it but incredibly disappointed that the gold edition I bought hasn’t got Far Cry 3 classic ready to play until Summer 2018. Very cunning from Ubisoft this. But the game is awesome.

    Best in the series. Full of fun and the arcade mode (which is free) adds in lots of extra hours.. unlimited basically. Perfect game and the graphics are amazing.

    Disturbing and risky story! Gameplay and open world of the best that exists! In my point of view is the best FarCry there is. I do not understand why people criticize when trying to sidestep past games. Because they also criticize when it is the same. For me it's a masterpiece.

    Far Cry is one of the game series ever made. Shooting never felt so damm good. Story is very well done. Guns Guns and Guns for everyone. First playthought took my about 40h and Im satisfied ! Anothe great game from Ubi, without stupid LOOTBOXES.

    I’m not that familiar with Far Cry series, I only played the first one years back and Far Cry 4 demo, and was actually waiting to buy this from PS store sale few months after launch, but as it was recommended by a fellow gamer, I bought it and really got my moneys worth of gaming.     This was my first Far Cry game that i have ever played and one of the most addicting open world games i have ever played as well. There was a time where i just wanted to complete the story mode and get the game over with, but the side missions, hunting, and other miscellaneous things there were to do grabbed my attention every time.     I liked about 90% of what the game had to offer.

    Dislikes:
    (1) load times.
    (2) vehicle controls.
    (3) enemy AI and your partners are dumb.
    (4) when planes, helicopters crashed it didn't seem too realistic as the body of the plane would still be in tact. Same with vehicles.

    Considering the dislikes of this game it is still a 10/10 as i would never get tired of playing it as I would with other games.    … Expand

    A super fun game to play. This game is absolute worth your time. The story is interesting, and the game is overall very well developed. All from music to shooting works perfectly, and the setting and graphics are wonderful. This game is absolute worth playing if you enjoy this game series.

    This game is great, Great graphics on the PS4 Pro (with an amazing draw distance) The characters are interesting and the story good but not as interesting or as exiting as others. The reason i am giving it a ten however is because it is the first game in a while that i have actually had fun in.

    Realy the best Far Cry, i don't know why grade is so low. Ubisoft have worked on many mistakes. The game looks fresh, and at the same time in a friendly way recognizable. Like GTA 5 in it's time.

    The best ubisoft game, and perhaps the best Far Cry. I had more fun in this game than in Far Cry 3. The Characters were interesting, the villains were likeable, even understandable to a point. Initially, I thought it was quite a simple shoot em up, but as I got more and more involved I realised that your tactics, approach and strategy are really important and planning assaults proved to be very rewarding. The gameplay is good, the storyline intriguing enough to keep me interested, and overall it is my benchmark - I finished it in 2 weeks, and am happy to say that the second time around is just as much fun - the higher difficulty is definitely more intense and planning tactical assaults is even more important.     Gorgeous graphics with an amazing setting. Excellent Map editor and PVP to keep you busy even though you already completed the main story, waiting patiently for Far Cry 3 Classic Edition Far Cry 5 is a great game, coming from a great gaming company. Thank You Ubisoft!

    I liked Far Cry 3, liked Far Cry 4 and LOVE the 5th installment.
    I really don't know why it got reviewed worse than both prequels, but for me it's the greatest Far Cry game till date.

    I ve been playing Far Cry 5 Gold Edition on my PS4 Pro SSD and had a blast with it. I ve been playing through the whole franchise lately and this installment had me personally going the most of them all. Far Cry 4 and Primal was an 8/10 for me. Far Cry 5 itself is a very strong 9/10 to me but I want to count in one more aspect which leads me to point out a 10/10. You can get FC5 Gold withI ve been playing Far Cry 5 Gold Edition on my PS4 Pro SSD and had a blast with it. I ve been playing through the whole franchise lately and this installment had me personally going the most of them all. Far Cry 4 and Primal was an 8/10 for me. Far Cry 5 itself is a very strong 9/10 to me but I want to count in one more aspect which leads me to point out a 10/10. You can get FC5 Gold with all of the DLCs for 20 bucks or less at reaccuring sales which is to me an absolute steal for around 20 to 50 hrs of great gameplay. So considering what you are going for my rating is 9-10 out of 10.

    The world is stunning and the performance is great. I had a singular stutter in a probably bugged cutscene but besides that the game was running absolutely flawless. Loading times and fast travel was nice although I cannot testify the rates on normal HDD.

    The world development was way better in comparison to older titles. The devs did not rely on capturing towers but it just naturally develops by getting around and talking to people which felt great. I m also thankful that grinding for craft was removed from the game. The game still has a huge variety of quests and a lot of side missions felt refreshingly unique. The game can be enjoyed by going story only or story + sides. Everybody else will get a huge variety on extra missions, hunting, fishing, stunt races or flight missions. Some of those are necessary but most of it is exceptional.

    The weapon system and the weapons itself feel great. I would ve liked to get more enhancement variety on the guns but it is still a good variety in rifles, smgs, lmgs, shotguns, bows, launches and much more stuff to fiddle around. Same goes to vehicles that come in insane variety and feel different in certain aspects. Some driving felt a bit clunky but get doable once you get used to some of the physic behaviours.

    After all I loved the plot a lot. It was immersing and had a good variety in missions and regions. One let down were those "get captured out of nowhere"-sequences that drive the story progress forward but felt absolutely out of place. I still think that this is no biggy in comparison to what I personally got out of the game.

    In terms of open world complexity, story and variety the game deserves a 10 in my opinion. The devs did great work put a huge effort into this game which I cannot point out enough. Engine, sound and graphics are also stunning. PS4 Pro performance was very good and it did not even get too loud as it was with titles such as God of War Reboot. The AI companions are cool as **** Send out a bear to rip out enemies: check. Sniper yourself with a sniper companion: check. Rain down rockets from helis: check.    … Expand

    This game was fun. There's a lot to this game and story. Vibrant, brutal and psychological. Something that has always been prevalent in Far Cry, but its in a setting with a place and group of people I can relate to.

    So my ratings for it is simple. 10/10 CULL THE HERD.

    How can you please not find this horny sect story ingenious? Because that's true in reality too! Then just fine graphics like in Red Dead Redemption 2 and the USA Montana landscape just perfect. Do not know why Red Dead 97 points and here again all the howling as always. You could make the best game and you are not satisfied as with Red Dead

    The best part from the whole franchise after FC3.
    Finished it twice with my friend.
    One bad thing is - a friend who will play with you in co-op. He will be like a main player's shadow, who don't get any achievements, story progress (on friend's ps4). His place with you - just run and shoot.

    By far my favorite game in the Far Cry series of games. I loved exploring the world and the story had likable characters, although I did like Pagan Min and Vas more overall. If you want an FPS with a big world to explore, lots of stuff to do with interesting characters and missions i highly recommend it.

    Really enjoyed the game. Ubisoft´s revolutionary Dunia engine with many upgrades that are easily seen, if you compare far cry 4 with 5. Map is HUGE with tons of side missions which make you explore every pixel of the map.

    The graphics are easily the best in the series, and you can run this game with high settings on a potato. The environment is great too, it feels like you are actually in montana. Best FC games ever. Love it

    I personally love this game, great world great gameplay mechanics sure some people are tired of the open world ubisoft formula I for one love causing mayhem and liberating enemy outposts and alot of the story missions were really well done aswell.

    I really enjoyed this game, and fell in love with its outstanding location "Hope County". The story is pretty good and the game from start to end is real fun. In some cases it can get annoying when you're trying to get to a quest giver but the dozens of enemies start shooting at you because you tried to rescue a hostage.     Definitely the most refined mechanic in the far cry franchise. Probably some will rank lower for the recycle of some classic formulas, but this one is rather "definitive".

    O melhor Far Cry, tem a melhor gameplay da franquia e gráficos lindíssimos. Suas expansões são muito boas e o modo Arcade fornece um fator replay maravilhoso e muito divertido. Jogar em co-op com algum amigo também é muito divertido.

    I am a big fan of the Far Cry series and i have to say Far Cry 5 is the very best. Absolutely beautiful scenery, hilarious and intense dialogue between the characters, smooth mechanics, superb story, wonderfully gameplay. I never had so much enjoyment and satisfaction in one game. Forget Far Cry 6 big disappointment just reply this one.

    Far Cry 5 established itself as one of the best in the series, The game features some gorgeous scenery, an engaging story and the overall story is great fun and the theme is very realistic. The game mixes up the missions so it doesn't get repetitive halfway through the game. Far Cry 5 is a great entry to the series for newbies and veterans alike.
