The game mode strip down this year by Codemasters with F1 2015 is evidently step one of many for a reboot of the popular franchise. Where modes have been taken, major improvements have been made. A whole new game engine giving advanced visuals and handling makes F1 2015 the best yet.

There's a significant improvement to the visual engine over last year's game, and while it's still not the most beautiful racing title out there, the improvements in the engine have allowed F1 2015 to offer a greater sensation of speed, and that is at core what a racing game engine should be about.

Control and graphics are really competitive, although there is an obvious lack of modes compared to the previous games in the franchise.

The first Formula 1-game for the current gen consoles and PC is pretty good, which is mainly because of the great controls and realistic way of capturing the highest race class in the world. It is a let-down that the driving experience is interrupted by unstable graphics and lack of features.

A fine first entry of the franchise on the current console generation with great potential, though some technical mistakes, strange AI and a lack of modes keep it from receiving a higher score.

F1 2015 brings racing gameplay to a new level. Handling is close to perfection with lots of stuff to customize. Howerever, there aren't as many game modes as you would hope.

Codemasters Racing Studio offers the best Formula One game with F1 2015. The EGO Engine improves on new generation platforms and it's a great idea to include the 2014 season. You'll miss some game modes and a more realistic AI.

Review from a die-hard F1 fan who has been to many of the current roster of tracks in real life.

This game has been getting a hard time since release.. Australia got this game on retail just over 1 full week before everyone else. I pre-ordered, got it day 1, played it for 3-4 days, then returned it. Why? Well, the game itself is decent while on track. However, there is SO much missing from the game, its more of a tech demo with a full track list rather than a full game. Im not going to go on about full career mode, because thats not a selling point for me. I find that having to go to my motorhome between races is a pain in the arse and i dont miss it at all. Criticisms below..

As said, on track its fine. Looks pretty enough, handles more or less satisfactorily despite the race marshalls being VERY lenient with corner cutting. I play my racers on max or close to max difficulty and the racing was a decent challenge. And, dare i say, its realistic in its driver (AI) settings insofar as Maldonado caused me many off track episodes during my time with the game.

    Downsides:
Car setup and tuning is very weak. Eg There can be no excuse to have only 5 step settings for downforce on any game that wants to be taken seriously. Online aspect is also equally poor. You choose from a set of bunched characteristics for online race type... u cannot set race distance, u cannot force custom aid settings, u cannot even pick which race u want to enter: u can only choose a type (wheel to wheel / classics / general) and it will then force u to wait while the servers try to matchmake u into a lobby with a random track with random people. There is no browser.. This blows my mind. WHAT were the devs thinking? Codemasters have done themselves zero favours with this release.

I could forgive the lack of career mode if the rest of the game-eco-system was complete... but it isnt. 5/10 and i have already returned the game.

Compared to all other simulators this game is the best. It just could do so much better. It's very good, But its not changed much since 2012,Compared to all other simulators this game is the best. It just could do so much better. It's very good, But its not changed much since 2012, and 2014 the last time i personally bought it. NEEDS ULTRA REALISM AND DAMAGE.
-If you're an f1 fan it's definitively a must have.
-Its been cut in half but its still decent lacking modes.
-if you are even capable of playing this game (its really fast and skillful) then you most likely want ultra realism and already know how to drive.
-Graphics- very clear and realistic way better then forza or project cars but they are not up to new generation graphics, needs more realistic movment in car camera tpods window rolling, tyre rubber and bits (marbles) that get form in the line making, debris, dirty tracks more grity. overall more realism!
Handling - you'll notice it has throttle control, very realistic still lacking proper phsycis (inertia, combustion, momentum) . Realism, The debris remains throhg a 100% other then saftey car from rubber and other things crashes (dynamic ultra real damage a slight hit, puncture, tyre explode if you do not box, pieces missing , warped rotors) playing a vitial role are lacking. This mandatory you need tohave realism.
**The tires need to crinkle up on bracking etc and degrade, blister etc over the race.
the suspension is off needs to bounce up and down and the cars fly over apex which are huge bumps
saftey car is missing, which is fine but if you want realism then make a reason like the above which adds much more dynamics to the race and why there's a saftey
    Sound - needs more realism
Gameplay- still good damage needs ultra realism which would really make the game including tyre wear , graphics physics
