There are some missing features, but on the whole it's a great game. The handling is much improved and the AI is far and away the best I've seen in a Codemasters game. Even online races aren't bad if all players have good connections. You have to organize your own online seasons, but it's a minor issue as I was doing that before anyway.

The guy below (kipp73) is wrong about the options

The guy below (kipp73) is wrong about the options available online. The only thing missing in online sessions is the ability to do full qualifying (best you can do is 18-minute short qualifying). You can do 60-minute practice and full race, or no practice and 3-lap race...whatever you want.

kipp73 is also wrong about downforce/drag settings. If he had the game for more than 3 days he might have realized that those settings are just initial positions that you can edit.

Big fan of F1, but haven't bought a codemasters game since 2011. Had this game preordered for some time, I didn't expect much especially when the release was delayed. I bought the game mainly for online play with friends and it does provide a great deal of fun, even if all the bugs aren't fixed yet. You can tell the game was rushed to be published, but the enjoyment is still there and with a few updates I think I would recommend the game. Expand

Big fan of racing games and especially F1. This version is lacking some major features(Safety car etc.) and has some bugs. But that's enough negativity.

I'm always trying to see the brighter side also and this game has it. What I love most is the most intelligent AI than there has ever been in racing genre. Also dynamic weather is working well and power differences between constructors

This game has been getting a hard time since release.. Australia got this game on retail just over 1 full week before everyone else. I pre-ordered, got it day 1, played it for 3-4 days, then returned it. Why? Well, the game itself is decent while on track. However, there is SO much missing from the game, its more of a tech demo with a full track list rather than a full game. Im not going to go on about full career mode, because thats not a selling point for me. I find that having to go to my motorhome between races is a pain in the arse and i dont miss it at all. Criticisms below..

As said, on track its fine. Looks pretty enough, handles more or less satisfactorily despite the race marshalls being VERY lenient with corner cutting. I play my racers on max or close to max difficulty and the racing was a decent challenge. And, dare i say, its realistic in its driver (AI) settings insofar as Maldonado caused me many off track episodes during my time with the game.

    Downsides:
Car setup and tuning is very weak. Eg There can be no excuse to have only 5 step settings for downforce on any game that wants to be taken seriously. Online aspect is also equally poor. You choose from a set of bunched characteristics for online race type... u cannot set race distance, u cannot force custom aid settings, u cannot even pick which race u want to enter: u can only choose a type (wheel to wheel / classics / general) and it will then force u to wait while the servers try to matchmake u into a lobby with a random track with random people. There is no browser.. This blows my mind. WHAT were the devs thinking? Codemasters have done themselves zero favours with this release.

I could forgive the lack of career mode if the rest of the game-eco-system was complete... but it isnt. 5/10 and i have already returned the game.

I have been A fan of formula one for a short time but to date this is by the far the best version in 2013
I couldn't even keep the car on the track and that was on xbox, PS4s graphics make this a worthwhile look
Even if your not a Motorsport fan....

Compared to all other simulators this game is the best. It just could do so much better. It's very good, But its not changed much since 2012, and 2014 the last time i personally bought it. NEEDS ULTRA REALISM AND DAMAGE.

-If you're an f1 fan it's definitively a must have.
-Its been cut in half but its still decent lacking modes.
-if you are even capable of playing this game (its really fast and skillful) then you most likely want ultra realism and already know how to drive.
-Graphics- very clear and realistic way better then forza or project cars but they are not up to new generation graphics, needs more realistic movment in car camera tpods window rolling, tyre rubber and bits (marbles) that get form in the line making, debris, dirty tracks more grity. overall more realism!
Handling - you'll notice it has throttle control, very realistic still lacking proper phsycis (inertia, combustion, momentum) . Realism, The debris remains throhg a 100% other then saftey car from rubber and other things crashes (dynamic ultra real damage a slight hit, puncture, tyre explode if you do not box, pieces missing , warped rotors) playing a vitial role are lacking. This mandatory you need tohave realism.
**The tires need to crinkle up on bracking etc and degrade, blister etc over the race.
the suspension is off needs to bounce up and down and the cars fly over apex which are huge bumps
saftey car is missing, which is fine but if you want realism then make a reason like the above which adds much more dynamics to the race and why there's a saftey
    Sound - needs more realism
Gameplay- still good damage needs ultra realism which would really make the game including tyre wear , graphics physics

Don't let the lack of race modes put you off. If you love F1 this is the best handling you will have experienced giving a breathtaking sensation of control and speed. Gorgeous in car graphics are the icing on the cake.

I can't play this game at all, after 20 hours of gameplay I have finished the 1st race.
Why? because every 10 mins I get a crash that freeze the game and kick me on desktop (with various error messages).
For me this game is at alpha-stage with a non-alpha price.
    Fraud.

A little bare bones, but looks and plays lovely and runs at a silky smooth 60fps. The future is promising for F1 games this generation. Recommended if you are a fan of F1...maybe wait for a price drop if you aren't. It's a very solid racer.

The game is great for those who love F1 action. Single player is very enjoyable. Multiplayer works fine. 2/10 only because of F1 game now being available for PS4.
The game itself cant get much worse anyhow.
There's time trial and quick race left, which both has been destroyed by insane bugs, glitches and penalties including time trial "track limits". Going on Kerbs might black flag you. More shallow than any previous F1-game now without career mode. Yes, they left it out completely.

Also, codemasters somehow thinks forcing you to play difficulty settings every car game has if you just crank em up is fun.
Its not, AI crashes you out while game takes care you get penalties enough thats impossible to do 100% races.
Online is worth seeing, but only in youtube fail compilations.
Online cars fully stops or randomly speeds through walls etc. giving yellow track while you get penalties after penalties for just driving.
Codemasters probably really hate their F1-license.

This is the most poorly designed racing game I've ever played, the controls are broken even after tinkering with the settings for hours. The cars are impossible to control and spin out of control frequently, also the cars have a very hard time turning.

When it works, F1 2015 is immensely fun and satisfying to the point of addiction. The problem is getting it to that stage, especially online. You could almost compare the latest addition of the franchise to this years McLaren Honda. The core package is there, but a few missing key elements allow it to slip behind the competition.

This is a great game. Though it is true it lacks any kind of lengthy career mode, only offering a season mode where you chose a driver and go through the 2014 or 2015 season, the actual racing looks and feels great. It is like a trip down memory lane going back and seeing the cars with the older drivers, teams, and liveries.

For the current price it is definitely worth the pick up!

It's not a revolutionary game, it's amazingly low on content, and its also plagued by glitches and bugs. Why Codemasters? What happened? The driving, at least, is still pretty good.

Not only Codemasters finally managed to release the game in the first half of the F1 season, and not when it ends, but the game itself has such a good driving model and is so fluent that it blows previous console editions out of the water. On the other hand, unfortunately, F1 2015’s content is very modest, with lack of a career mode being the biggest letdown. [09/2015, p.62]

I am happy to announce that Codemasters are not leaving the novice players behind in order to chase the most realistic F1 game to date.
